This was an unexpected gem. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice. The server was very friendly, attentive and had good suggestions. It's at one end of the Glen and there's a little lot to park near by so that's nice. Worth a try

It's hard to believe this place has been open six years and we've only been recently. It's at the end of the Glen's main retail and restaurant area and it's a terrible location for traffic because nobody's really walking down there. The restaurant next-door changed hands at least three times so I always fear these places aren't going to make it. Anyway, all that being said, we were very pleased with our meal. Service was helpful professional and friendly.

We got the best waitress, Sydney. Totally took care of us. I had the Chicken Caesar salad and my friend had the Double Cheese burger. We shared fried pickles. Food was cooked perfectly and it tasted very good! Great ambience and not noisy at all.

You know you're at the right place on a Friday night around 7 when you enter and you can feel the vibe and excitement in the air - especially when the tables and bar area are full! Luckily we called and made a reservation so we waited just a little bit and were taken to our seats by the owner. Also good to know this place was featured on Turano Bread's Tik Tok. Solid. Now let's get to the food and service. The staff here is very great. You've gotta love when the people who serve you have a smile on their face and make you feel welcomed. This place nails it! They have an epic list of beers and whiskeys to choose from - something for everyone. And if you just want a ginger ale - they've got that and coke products too. We started off with the appetizer of buffalo wings. They were cooked perfectly - had a crisp outside and juicy inside - with a nice glaze of buffalo sauce - very mild too - the ranch here also seems homemade, it's very good. For the entrees we each got a burger which is what they're known for here. We got the branded oak burger because of the meat blend it has and boy was the burger tasty. It did have a bacon jam type condiment on it that was a bit too sweet for my taste and I wasn't a fan of the Wisconsin cheese blend- just me, I prefer a slice. The other burger we got which was a crowd favorite at the table was the hangover burger. The egg and crispy onion straws bring this up an extra notch! Lastly, we dove into a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and when they say hot they aren't lying! It was good but I felt like it should be saucier but the Nashville hot was more in the breading. Get the tater tots extra crispy you won't be disappointed! This is a must try!

I was craving a cheeseburger on a Friday night (how many of my weekend nights go, honestly), so we decided to come here for the first time. In one word, the food was average. I got the 3 Alarm burger with the grilled jalapeño peppers, pepper jack cheese, and crispy onions on it, and it wasn't too spicy. The patty was a bit dry. We enjoyed our dinner outside, and the waitress was really nice. The kids' meals are $9 and come with a drink. Checked the box on visiting this place.

This place is absolutely wonderful! Their food is always consistent and delicious. They offer a variety of burgers, sandwiches and plates. The menu is diverse which caters to many different people. We love going here for a quick lunch to sit at the bar or sit down dinner. The service is always great and the environment is clean and updated.

My favorite impossible burger locally. The patty must be hand formed as it's thicker than the standard one you buy in a package. Fresh lettuce and tasty bun. Great attentive service and the interior style is of an upscale bar. If burgers are your thing, and you want a nice night out that a little casual, but nice enough to go with the wife, this is a strong option.

The chicken was delicious and the pancakes were out of this world. Similar to some of the other comments, it would be nice to first come in, sit down, get relax then have someone take your order when dining in. However you place your order at the front door and then can sit down. The customer service lacked tremendously from the youthful stuff(late teens/very early 20's) But I will say the most underwhelming thing about this experience was the building. Inside & out it was very primitive & just flat out old. I know they just moved from another location and looking to get their foot in the door. But hopefully a renovation is in the plans. The inside is a bit of an eye soar. Needless to say, I would come back if in the area because of the food. But I wouldn't go out of my way patronize them.

When we arrived, there was no one else waiting and I'd guess that only 75% of the tables had customers. Couldn't have been more wrong in our decision as we waited for over an hour post ordering before we actually received our meal. This is the longest we have waited for breakfast... EVER. Anyone with kids knows having kids sit still and wait with minimal sources of entertainment is hard enough, then add hunger to the equation and it's a recipe for disaster. What could have made our experience better? 1 - Be transparent about your delays upfront -- Empower your diners to make a decision around whether they'd want to wait or not given how busy you are. Don't continue to seat customers when your kitchen is severely behind and hope diners don't notice. 2 - A small gesture goes a long way -- It would have been nice for SC to offer a couple of biscuits given the excessive wait. 3 - Don't add insult to injury... by bringing butter and ketchup 30+ minutes before the meal arrives. It added to the frustration that even my 7yo remarked "what are we going to do with butter, we have no food". They offered more water even when all our water cups were clearly full. Don't really understand how more water would make us less hungry? Looking at another recent 1-star review, I can see the same pattern as our experience. This restaurant clearly doesn't fail gracefully on busy days... and they don't seem to care either. At the conclusion of our meal, we didn't even get the typical "how was your meal" question from anyone. I guess they already knew.

First things first--you've got to plan ahead. Reservations open 30 days in advance, and we booked ours the minute they became available. There's a $20 per person reservation fee, and for our party of seven, I can honestly say it was worth every dollar. Now let's get to the food. We ordered just about every side because that's how you really find out what a restaurant is about. Collard greens? 9.5/10 Cornbread? 10/10. Don't leave without it. Mac and cheese? Easy 10/10. That was the table favorite. Everything else? There wasn't a miss. Every dish came out seasoned with purpose, cooked with care, and full of flavor. You could tell this wasn't just food--it was a reflection of the people behind it. Now let's talk about the service... Also a 10/10. The General Manager made my best friend's birthday feel genuinely special. She spent time with our table, made us feel welcome, and surprised us with Key Lime Pie and Strawberry Bread Pudding. Those little touches matter, and they turned a great dinner into a memorable celebration. Our server also walked us through the artwork displayed throughout the restaurant and shared the story behind the chef's awards over the past five years. You don't get that level of hospitality everywhere. Final score? Food: 10/10Service: 10/10Atmosphere: 10/10 This isn't just another restaurant--it's an experience. As a Black-owned business, seeing the excellence, passion, and recognition that Virtue has earned makes me incredibly proud. If you're anywhere near Chicago, put this place on your list. Just don't wait until the last minute for a reservation. This one definitely lives up to the hype.

Seriously! So, imagine my surprise when I found out they had a restaurant on Irving Park Road in Wooddale - and I would occasionally pass it going to and from work! Well, it was time to try it for lunch today. There wasn't a big line of people, but boy did the food smell like barbecue when I walked in! I quickly ordered the two meat combo with chopped brisket and pulled pork. I got the green chili, Mac and cheese as a side, as well as the classic coleslaw. All right - the ambience was just perfect for a small barbecue place. The food came quickly, but I noted it wasn't quite right. I had asked for chopped brisket not sliced brisket. Not a crime against humanity, true, but still I didn't complain and I decided to go ahead and eat it anyway. So how was it? Well, I slathered on sweet rays barbecue sauce, and ate like crazy. The meat was pretty darn good! The green chili mac & cheese was delicious- can't say that the coleslaw was to my taste, but there was nothing wrong with it. The cornbread was fantastic. The only reason for the demerit? Was that I ordered chopped brisket and got sliced. Will I come here again? Yes, yes I think I shall! And I think you should try it too if you like barbecue.

The server made a face at my request, like I was a burden for asking. When I explained that I don't do well with bones and just needed help finding a safe option, I got the same reaction again. No effort to help, no kindness, just a look that made me feel ashamed for asking a simple question about what I could eat. It got worse from there. The chef was openly rude to the server for even bringing my question back to the kitchen. So on top of being made to feel like a problem, I had to watch my request create tension between the staff. The restaurant has a kids menu with the exact item that would have worked for me, and they still wouldn't let me order it, even at full adult price. A simple "no, but let me help you find something that works" would have been completely fine. Instead it was eye rolls and ego. Asking for a safe meal should never feel this humiliating. If you have Crohn's, swallowing difficulty, or any dietary restriction, know that grace was in short supply here. A good kitchen finds a way to feed you. Big Jones made me feel like the problem.
