I find it hard to believe Wildfire has a 3.6 rating. As far as I am concern it is 5 stars all the way. The food is delicious, service is top-notch and the restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. I like it's darker than most restaurants. My most recent visit was lovely. My sister took me there for my birthday lunch that's later this week. Our server, Vito, was outstanding. My sister had the BBQ ribs and I had the skirt steak. Both were delicious. I love their sides including mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and au gratin potatoes. We have always had a great experience at this restaurant, and have a standing res every New Year's Eve. I had a very Non-typical experience last night. Our server seemed to be rushing us once it was obvious we weren't dong salads or apps. He took our drink order, and returned a while later with our drinks. Not 40 seconds passed before he returned to take our orders. Realizing his faux pas, he left us to talk for a while before returning to take our orders. After a terrific dinner, we asked for the bill. As we were paying cash, we asked that the 3% surcharge be removed, we also had slightly less than $35 left and Lettuce Entertain You gift certificates as well as a $15 birthday discount. I included enough cash to give a 22% tip. We were at the restaurant for another 15 minutes or so as our family was finishing their drinks, and the waiter came up to me and whispered that I only gave him a 13% tip, and if he felt that the service that he delivered was inadequate,he understands, but ", if not, it should've been $20 more. I was shocked that he was so brazen, and asked him to bring back the Bill so I could show him what I did. He did so, and discovered that he credited $20 less cash than I actually gave him, and apologized for the error. What made this even more irritating was that we were seated, for a special occasion, at the staging section right in front of the kitchen. That enough alone was enough to keep parties rotating the tables quickly, we did not need to be pushed by our server. We really enjoy this restaurant, and this will not prevent us from returning, however, we will request that we never sit in the section again, and hopefully will not have this server again in the future. read more

It's like the stars say - it's OK. I think the style is a throwback to some older days. The entrees are presented un-ornate, often with the side dish plated separately. The food comes out hot and depending on your protein, nicely charred. It's often a big piece of protein, so it stands on its own, not a lot of extra personality in its presentation. Which is fine... but I dunno. Maybe this is not for me. I visited several times for dinner across five months. The prime rib was prepared a proper medium rare, but was pretty gristly. The pork chop was nice and tender, but did not have a lot of character amongst it. Like... the char was the biggest textural difference. The lamb chops were good, but difficult to negotiate around the bone. The service was excellent and attentive. No worries there! Went to wildfire for a client dinner and it was very nicely done. From the service, food and ambience, it was definitely a chic spot to be at. We had our reservation on a Monday night, which Mondays are usually never busy but not here. It was packed! Completely full restaurant when I walked in. Thankfully we had a private room, which was much nicer and quieter! For apps, we ordered several dishes from shrimp cocktail, fried calamari, goat cheese flatbread, and chicken skewers. I really liked the shrimp cocktail, fresh and crispy. And for my main, I opted for the crab cakes. I definitely judge to see if the crab cakes have a higher ratio of bread crumbs vs crab. And certainly like it when it is higher on the crab! And finally the desserts! Extremely decadent was the triple chocolate cake. But my favorite would be the chocolate moose, lighter and delicious. I attended the Birthday Bash for a former colleague @ The Wildfire today. The Party was held in a side room and not the main dinning area. The room was packed with about 75 people who were present to honor Dennis , the birthday boy. Back in the day , Dennis was a Bagpiper, a good one too. Another bagpiper was in attendance and dressed in his Kilts he played happy birthday on the bagpipes in honor of Dennis , one of the original founders of the bagpipers. The service was quick and efficient and the wait staff , although quite young, was very professional. Ambiance was suitable for a date night. The restaurant itself is quite chic and can accommodate a large number of customers with banquet rooms on the side for special occasions. On the menu today was salad , filet mignon , chicken breast , mashed potatoes and Brussels Sprouts. For dessert, obviously we had birthday cake. A comedian was hired for entertainment and he was quite funny. Gathered together for this event were family , friends and former colleagues. I'm remiss in having gone to wildfire for years and not having yelped yet. This is our go-to for special occasions. As a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, the decor, service, and food are always on point. This year we went again for New Year's Eve dinner and had a wonderful time. The parking lot is ample and even on a very busy night, it's easy to get parking. The waiting area on New Year's Eve is packed but somehow still large enough to feel more festive than cramped. We had a 6p reservation and while they've always been on time in the past, they were running 15 mins behind. In the lobby and throughout, the Christmas decorations are gorgeous and go so well with the dark wood walls. We were seated in our favorite room, the Savoy, in a cozy booth along the wall. Our server, Amanda, was one of the best I've had anywhere - welcoming and always there when we needed her but never rushing us. We both had their old fashioned which is strong but well made. Along with the bread basket that comes to the table, we split a cup of shrimp and crab bisque. It was perfect - flavorful and creamy but not overly cream-based, chock full of delightful pieces of the seafood. We also split a small Caesar which had a refreshing dressing that was a nice amount without being heavy handed. For our meal, I had the cornbread crusted cod over a bed of shaved Brussels sprouts and cranberry butter, which was one of the specials. The cod tasted fresh and the crust light and nicely crunchy. The Brussels sprouts cooked so they were chewable but still held up nicely and the cranberry butter really makes the dish. Husband had the scallops which are so tender and absolutely perfect. The dish they're in can get a little rich but with how delicious it is. I love their mashed potatoes - simple and not garlicky - a nice antidote to all the rest of the very flavored food. We split a side of the mushroom caps which were so flavorful - quite salty but in a delicious way and with so many lovely notes so the salt is only one component , with a perfect chew. Husband's side was the broccoli which has a refreshing lemony flavor. We were too full for dessert this year but in the past we've enjoyed their cherry pie. read more

Wildfire in Glenview is a great Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. We have loved this restaurant for many years and have celebrated many life events here. Excellent burger. Sometimes the steak isn't cooked how you ordered it, but they happily fix it every time. We've had some food here that wasn't amazing, but overall I have had some memorable times here at Wildfire in Glenview and I hope it sticks around for a long time. The patio is so-so, the main dining room is gorgeous, but we especially adore the bar area, which is very '40s themed and really everything about it is perfect. read more

We were visiting our Mom in Glenview ( funny my hometown) and this spot was right across the street from where she lives. We wandered over around 5 pm without a reservation and got seated right away. The place is actually massive inside, I mean tons of seating! The food was excellent especially since this my hometown and I don't expect that much... We weren't well known for excellent dining especially since we are a suburb of Chicagoan's since I worked downtown I got very spoiled with the great places downtown. Our orders were: 2 salads one chopped and one Caesar. For the mains we got a chicken sandwich and filets. I only had the salad since I wasn't that hungry. Everything was very good! We came here on a Wednesday after landing at O'Hare. Our waiter was absolutely great. Very attentive and nice. He was helpful with the menu and he made sure we had a great experience. We had the bone-in rib eye (cooked medium rare), the petite filet mignon (cooked medium), the broccoli and lemon vinaigrette, the roasted mushrooms, and the large baked potato. The roasted mushrooms were definitely #1. So good and flavorful! Very well prepared. The broccoli was cold so I think they cooked them too early before bringing them to the table. The baked potato was delicious. The petite filet mignon was good and so was the ribeye. I've had better steak so I think that's why I can't really rave about this one, but for a late meal after a long flight day, it was satisfying. The ambiance at the restaurant was great. Wildfire hosted my grandmother's 90th birthday lunch. They did a wonderful job coordinating the large group of us and immediately getting drinks ordered as people arrived. We had 5 tables in a private room. The waiters were non-stop (in a good way) and had our needs well covered. While there was a set menu, they were very accommodating of allergies and offered alternatives. The shrimp cocktail was generous and fresh. I love the food here. We got in. Got sat in the back section which was beautiful, we were the only table in that section. We ordered appetizers it was great, drinks amazing. We ordered our dinner 10 min After our appetizers came out. 45 min later, we still haven't gotten our dinner , an hour after appetizers came out we politely asked if our dinner was coming, the server just said yes and walked away. 1 hour and 10 min after getting sat, we asked for manager and again politely asked for our dinner. Dinner came out 1 hour and 40 min after we got sat, multiple tables that got sat after us got their dinner way before we did. We three women had a reservation for noon lunch on a Thursday. The restaurant was busy but not packed, and we sat in a booth. We were greeted by three different staff and finally we learned which one was our server, but we are still not sure who the others were. (In the end, one was the busser and we never saw the other two during our meal.). We ordered wine, and one glass came with a chip with a piece of fabric in it. When it was brought to the attention of the staff, he took the glass and, without an apology, he took it away and returned with a new glass. We then spent time chatting until we realized our server was a rare sighting and had to get his attention so we could order our food. As he was telling us the specials and asking questions, he oddly avoided any eye contact with one of us (#2), speaking only to me and one other #3). When #2 had a question, the response was a bit stilted, and we could not understand why. Our meals arrived, and the Chicken Wildorf Salad and the Wildfire Chopped Salad were both very good. They were large enough to take home what could not be eaten. I had the French Onion Soup, which I did not care for; the flavor of the soup was different and there was very little bread in the broth. I also ordered a side Caesar Salad, which was a nice side but had no croutons or anything other than lettuce, dressing, and shredded cheese. This was lacking in all ways. So out of the three of us, we had 2 reasonable meals. With a total bill of $135 before tips, it was very disappointing. Which is odd because Wildfire is known for its quality, which today seems to be in short supply. The accessibility is good, with no barriers from the front door to the ladies' room. However, getting to that restroom requires a walk through the main dining room, and a wheelchair user may have some difficulty getting through the tables and chairs easily. While the tables are appropriate for accessibility, the booths are raised and are not open to those with special mobility needs. Sadly, I was disappointed with the food and the cost. This is not the Wildfire I remember from many visits in the past. During the 1-2 years since I last dined here, things certainly have changed. What a shame. read more

I normally get sandwiches at various Wildfire locations, and like to pair them with the Au Gratin Potatoes side dish which is always quite good. On a recent visit I went with a Filet Mignon and it was a mistake as was the Mac & Cheese. The filet was cooked to the right temp but was dry and under-salted. Mac & Cheese was pedestrian, and Mushroom Caps were pretty good if a bit messy to eat without getting all the liquid in the bottom of the serving vessel on yourself. The Burger and French Dip are excellent at this and pretty much every Wildfire location, but at a "steakhouse" I expect a great steak. I can definitely make a better steak at home, which is why I usually don't pay the exorbitant prices for steak when I eat out and Wildfire sadly hasn't changed that opinion. On a few visits to the Glenview Wildfire location it has been OK, but generally not great. However some of that is related to ordering the "right" items on the menu. Oh well. read more

Love that there is ample parking in front I never have an issue. Inside this place takes you back to the roaring 20's with its really beautiful decor. We came on New Year's Eve and had a reservation which we waited about 20 minutes for. For the appetizers we started with the shrimp and crab soup, which was really good but it's not lobster bisque, remember that. We also had the bison meatballs which came in size of six and each were bite sized - they were cooked perfectly and the marinara is excellent. On to the entrees. We had the filet trio cooked medium and they were excellent lot cooked and tasted amazing. For the sides here we had creamed spinach which is the best we've had from any steakhouse and the mashed potatoes (smaller serving than other steakhouses but comes with!). The other entree was a whole slab of ribs - which unfortunately though they were cooked perfectly and came off the bone wonderfully they were over seasoned and too salty. The bbq sauce was dynamite. The coleslaw was good too and the baked potato on the side was good as well. Overall we will be back, but we'll skip the ribs. Oh and we had the chocolate mousse pie with Oreo crust and it was decedent. We also enjoyed that this was a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant and used a gift card towards the purchase. read more

This was my first time visiting Wildfire. It is definitely a cute atmosphere on the inside and gives the vibe of a nice steakhouse that isn't stuffy! Service was good. The food, I ordered off the restaurant week menu and had the soup, salmon, and loaded bake potato. The soup was good but I don't feel it was hot enough for my liking. The salmon was very delicious and I loved the sauce on top. The baked potato was so big lol like I was actually taken back by how big it was, but it was tasty. My friend ordered the branzino and it looked phenomenal, it was off the regular menu. For dessert we order the chocolate pie and it was so delicious. First of all it's a nice looking restaurant. And when it's busy you can still hear people at your table. I had crab appetizer, tasted good it but made with lump crab and the 2 pieces probably weight 6 ounces in all, but all in all, tasted nice. I also had calamari which was okay, My friend had the 3 filets and they looked more like tornados even if full size filets, and she said they were sort of chewy, I had the chewy pie which is always good. I was in chicago traveling and me and my friends agreed on this restaurant. We almost regretted our decision because as soon as we got there & sat down, our waiter was just straight up nasty. He literally ignored us, dropped the waters off and ran and gave my friend serious attitude when we ordered since she dared to ask questions. My other friend had to be like "is everything ok" and then the waiter finally calmed down. I could tell this place is a miserable place to work. All the waiters looked stressed. On the positive side, the food was really good and my friends agreed. I got a chicken kabob and a side of mac & cheese and I was very happy with my food. What a delightful evening we had. A big part of it was the service. We always have good service at Wildfire, but I need to start this with a thank you to our server, Kevin. He made our night! Wildfire is one of my favorite places to visit. It's a special place we reserve only for special occasions. This time, it was my wife's birthday. And we celebrated. We started with salads - I had a side salad (mixed greens), and we also had a wedge salad. The wedge was huge and loaded with bacon. Both were outstanding. There are so many great choices for entrees it took us a while to make our selections. They had a menu of specials that complicated our decisions, too. We chose Filet Mignon with Bearnaise Sauce, Simply Grilled Branzino (one of their specials), Chicken and Ribs, and Twin Pork Chops. As always, everything was terrific. Everything came with sides, but their Grilled Roasted Vegetables stood out! Their portions are enormous. The combination of the food's quality and the amount served makes their prices (which are high) a great value. My "doggie bag" meal lasted for one more dinner and two lunches! Since we had a birthday at the table, they brought a special dessert--a chocolate cake--probably chocolate fudge. It wasn't large, but it was dense and very rich. I didn't have any, but I was told it was supreme. As always, it was a great experience. It was an experience I know we'll repeat, and I want to find a way to create another special occasion so we can visit soon. read more

Been going to Glenview location for many years I want for my birthday was greeted by the hostess. She said happy birthday ,we are seated. The waiter came by introduce him self but never acknowledged a happy birthday. It kind of went downhill the rest of the night the waiter and bus staff seemed not to care ,quality went down that night the food was soso when my friend went to complain to the manager ,she heard sorry may we call you tomorrow which never happened my friend is one that does not complain often!! We had Tomato & Cheese flatbread ( it was ok, not much flavor), Wildfire chopped salad (it needed more salt), Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut (this was very tasty and lots of flavor) side dishes were Red Skin Mashed potatoes and fresh broccoli with lemon vinaigrette (the broccoli needed more salt)! The best part of the entire meal were the desserts-homemade Key Lime pie and their famous Triple Layer Chocolate Cake!
