3rd time at Lazy Dog! Never ever a disappointment with food OR services. Have been to almost all of them!

    S'mores sundae

First time here and overall pretty good. We got the deal where you get an entree and dessert for $15 which is an amazing deal. The burgers and truffle fries were pretty good and the shrimp tacos were ok in my opinion. Next time I would definitely just get a burger. The s'mores sundae was so good but we were pretty stuffed at that point. Good place for a quick grab of some good food definitely recommend!

In Northbrook picking up friend's car. Her car not ready for another hour. Stopped here & seated in 5 minutes. Nice ambiance !! Waitress Mary was nice & helpful with menu items plus drinks available. Food was awesome...served in no time... Inexpensive too. Highly reccomend....

Went to the Lazy Dog today for Brunch and had a great time! First time there and the food and service were great!! I had the Loco Moco Fried Rice. I put a picture of it before and after pouring the gravy over it. The dish was ridiculously good. We couldn't resist and ordered the banana pudding to put a cap on the lunch. Was in a total food coma and forgot to take a picture of it. The banana pudding didn't disappoint. They have a huge selection of beer and coco this place is definitely on the list to visit for dinner. There is also a large outdoor area that would be great for when it gets warmer. Can't wait to stop in again!!

Great restaurant with a wide variety or eats and drinks. The staff is extremely friendly and it was a very warming vibe. Also make sure you save room for dessert because they are fantastic!

Really good vibe outdoors. It has a community feel - good to lounge, chat and enjoy company. Especially with the oversize fireplace. The food is really good, seasoned properly. Bar bites were good for sharing and had a really good assortment for happy hour. Service was good, checked on us frequently though it was pretty busy. Lowered the sunshade for us without promoting bc it's really bright in the late afternoon with sunsets. I liked the pot roast, super tender, and just good comfort food that makes you smile and savor n' enjoy the time.

We came for a later dinner (8:30 PM) on a Wednesday so too early for the evening reverse style happy hour however the place still had quite s few patrons in it. We sat at the two top at the end of the bar/service area it is a slight quiet table however it is not the nicest view of the place. Our server was new to Lazy Dog it was her third shift. She was nice and very helpful with many questions although perhaps a tad too talkative. My choice was the seared ahí tuna salad which was very fresh and a great choice for those who like Japanese food AND who don't want to eat the 1000+ calories that seem to come with nearly every other dish on the menu. This dish is listed at 550 calories. They serve Huy Fong Sriracha packets when you ask for them. nice touch instead of wasting tons of sauce in a ramekin or plunking a gross looking bottle on the table. My better half had the Cuban sandwich with pickled cucumbers. Since I am 100% Cuban I can say that this is one of the first, if not the only Cuban sandwich made by non-Cubans that is an improvement on the original. The bread was made with the standard roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese and pickle filling built on slices of thick cut bread and the outside was well buttered and the whole sandwich was grilled and pressed to perfection. The paying experience needs to be upgraded as we love the tableside paying however the unit gives no option to get a paper receipt. It needs to be added to the options for those of use who want it. we waited a long time for her to return and then it took forever and we still never got a paid receipt. Not cool. That however was the only negative of the night. We will definitely return as it quickly becoming our "go to" place since Northbrook has few (to none) nice, yet casual restaurants.

I had a bowl of chicken tortilla soup with the shrimp tacos for lunch. The chicken tortilla soup was mostly tortilla and not much soup. About half of my bowl was tortillas. It was disappointing when I got the soup. My shrimp tacos were very tasty and I enjoyed the black beans and rice. It was nice that they gave us free garlic parmesan chips as it was our first time dining. We also had a dessert to end our meal and had the apple-huckleberry pie with ice cream. This was a good size and was shareable. I was a bit disappointed in the huckleberry IPA as there wasn't much huckleberry flavor, however I did have a taste of the huckleberry lemonade and that was delicious. Service here was outstanding and I will definitely come back.

Today we stopped in while out on a 96' Harley ride. We were hungry and thirsty I had a Cobb salad with balsamic blue cheese and a seltzer water with a lime My riding buddy had a grown up grill cheese with lemon tater tots and onion rings. Both were very tasty. Our server was attentive and served us well. The restaurant was clean and comfy We will be back Thanks all

I'm not here to rip this place or the staff. They likely have some staffing issues and are trying to stay afloat with Northbrook taxes and unrealistic customer expectations. Our food was adequately decent but took a bit longer to arrive than one might reasonably expect. To be clear, not hating on the Staff. I think they might just need to have one more person working per shift, even at the risk of that shift occasionally being slow.

Came here for a recent visit and they had a promotional of $15 fireside meals which is an entree along with a personal sized dessert. The entree is huge and and added benefit is the dessert bonus. We had the Loco moco and that was delicious. We also ordered a couple of the main entrees, shrimp Alfredo and the pot roast. We also got some of the happy hour appetizers that you can get either on the patio or the bar area.

Some of my very memorable foods include every bowl of beef pho that was offered to us. The beef was tender and flavorful, the pho (rice noodles) was thin and smooth. Tonight, we were having takeout from one of our favorite eateries, Basu, again. Since the first bowl of beef pho that did not totally meet our expectations, we had been ordering chicken pho from them. Their grilled chicken has always been smooth and cooked nicely. Their sweet soy glazed chicken wings are finger-licking good. We like their ground pork egg rolls with crunchy skin as well. This time I wanted to give their beef pho another chance, and see how it would compare to those that I had in Vietnam, and hope that they have made some improvement over two and a half years. Well, it is still the same. The beef was not tender, although not too chewy, it was kind of rough. The pho was not as smooth as I would like it to be. The broth still tasted good and not too salty, though. The chicken pho and egg roll were still good. (We remove the side bag of raw bean sprouts, lime, and basil from the order, as we don't eat them). It is a still a solid 4-star. Next time I will switch back to chicken pho again. I am still glad that we have this Vietnamese eatery close by!

We ordered takeout, and the food was still hot when we tucked in. I can only imagine the menu is even better in person. Some leeway is required. Damn Google search. I asked for submarine sandwiches suggestions on my homeward travel and this popped. Ordered their namesake Cultura sub, a chicken shawarma and they also offer a Persian menu, so lamb stew. $12.95 sounded too interesting but I didn't notice you must also buy rice separately ('because how can you eat stew without rice! She said' ) additional $5.95 for dill. Honestly, $17.95, yes, this sounds more like the correct price point for a small lamb leg. The dill rice was real. The lamb leg comes in a tomato based stew with beans. I wasn't impressed with the leg, quite bland but the rice could have acted as a carrier for any other stew side or with a topping of shawarma, just as nice. The sandwich was mid. Bread dense. I might be missing something. I wonder now whether the breads are also Persian. Perhaps barbari or a thicker taftoon. If you enjoy Persian it could slap? Personally not impressed especially given the out of pocket around $50. Lack of details on menu items with additional pricing is somewhat aggravating. One and done. At the time of order, a young woman was having tea service. I am not sure whether that is offered to everyone or a specialty enjoyed by the owner with their staff & friends.

About 2 days before I was telling a friend where i got my turkey and she asked me how i plan to cook it. Cook it?? It literally had not occurred to me that my turkey would be raw. If it's not obvious from this review and ALL my restaurant reviews the kitchen is not where I shine. I called Hofherr to ask if they could cook my turkey and while apparently they do that it was too late to put in the request. Good to know for next time. Wednesday morning I joined the rest of the North Shore to pick up my raw turkey. I ran into a friend while waiting for it who is more of an expert when it comes to making turkeys and she asked them to give me gravy, a turkey bag (apparently easier and lessy messy to cook in a bag) and some directions. The next day I followed their directions along with some help from my bestie chatgpt. I stuck it in the oven and crossed my fingers we wouldn't be going without a turkey this thanksgsiving. We had a little mishap when the thermometer melted into the turkey (oops), but besides that it really wasn't too difficult of a process. And while I had trouble eating a turkey after seeing it raw my family was thrilled that it was perfectly moist and praised my turkey making skills. I did have a few bites and did think it was pretty good- and i dont even like turkey. I would definitely get my turkey from here again, although next time i'll be ordering a cooked turkey out of convenience. But for those of you who like to cook a turkey I recommend them!
