What magic is this?! That was my first thought when I took a bite of the Juicy Lucy burger. Between the tears as I took each bite, I could taste every component of the burger, the well seasoned, caramelized meat, the cheese oozing out of the middle of the burger, the grilled brioche bun. This was absolute perfection made by a gifted chef. The chef and owner told me how he started out of a food truck and two years ago moved into the hidden, unobtrusive spot is now inhabits. The ambience is bare bones. Metal tables with metal chairs and having a rough time keeping it warm. But it isn't about the ambience. This place is gangster in that way. They just make a tear-jerking burger and perfectly cooked crinkle cut fries. It currently holds my top spot for North Shore burgers. Follow up: I brought home the same burger on a gluten-free bun for my wife. She said it was a "religious experience" and that this will be her obsession for the next few weeks.

Smaller place in a small plaza. Met the owner and he is a very friendly and helpful person. Place is smaller with a few tables if you wanted to dine in. Think they focus mainly on take out but the dine experience was pretty quiet and good for a quick bite. I ordered the gangster burger which I had to try from all the videos I've seen online and I must say it definitely lives upto the hype. Really juicy and cooked perfectly with just the right flavor. Food is cooked fresh. I will definitely be back to try some other items soon! 10/10

Food was great! This is not a sit down restaurant per-say. Only a couple of patio furniture table and chairs. Service was good!

Once again they are a part of Ravinia's Food Truck Night. This time went with some bacon & cheddar on my burger & yum! The fries were perfect!

I bought burgers and Carne Asada fries, 2 drinks all set me back $40, food is excellent, i don't know how they get the perfect crisp on the fries on the outside and soft on the inside, its magic. If you want good food, its worth the price. You get what you pay for. I can't come here often but do on special occasions.

Instead of being the canned stuff you can tell they put both a lot of care and seasoning into it. We moved out to the burbs and I saw this one on Yelp...but was it related? I mean, they have two different websites, and the one for this location literally has on their website "Serving you at one location!" We weren't sure, but we were willing to give it a shot. We came early on a Saturday, and inside they had a picture of the one in Chicago, and street signs for Ashland and Roscoe, where the Chicago one is located. So it HAS to be related...right? But the menus looked a little different... We got started with the chips and salsa, and the salsa has a real kick. Note that you only get the first chips for free and more chips would cost more. My wife got a torta, and I got tacos with steak and eggs on it, while my kid got the kid's quesadilla meal. And sure enough, there were those beans. Not dry at all and super flavorful. Next time I need to do my wife's play and order double beans instead of beans and rice. My tacos were messy but cooked well, with lots of bits of steak. I was a little confused because I thought my kid's meal would come with a drink, but they charged for his lemonade. I assume it's because it was a special blended drink and not just from a soda fountain. Now that we know this is here, we'll definitely be back, especially seeing that they have a patio for warmer weather. Glad to see we have an option when we're missing our city days.

If you're looking for a unique taste of birria, this is the spot. Their birria pizza is hands down one of the best I've ever had--crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The rich, savory consommé perfectly complemented the tender meat and took the whole experience to another level. We also tried the loaded fries, which were generously topped and had a great balance of textures and flavors. Everything tasted fresh and indulgent without being overwhelming. I would 100% come back. Just a heads up: the restaurant is on the smaller side with limited seating if youre eating in.

There's a grocery store next door that I visit from time to time. Checked them out the other Sunday after church. Ordered chilaquiles with over easy eggs and a taco plate with different proteins. Rice and beans were extra and you should note their beans are whole black, not refried. Hence, their being certified Halal. The food is fresh, plentiful and bursting with flavor. Wish, wish I could have gotten the chilaquiles home sooner or just stopped somewhere to enjoy them hot. Green salsa had good flavor and the meal was seasoned well. Had asked for over easy eggs but turned out they made them hard. Bummer. I truly enjoy yolks mixed in. The tacos were good, two birria and one shrimp. During this cold season it's always grand to sip a birria consome. The shrimps contained within the taco were medium sized. I figure a two taco plate with rice and beans would be plenty of food. I'd definitely check them out again.

On a rainy Thursday night, we finally had a chance to check it out because we wanted a quick and easy meal before heading to the Art exhibition opening in the Northbrook Public Library close by. The restaurant was not busy at the time. There was only 1 table occupied. After we settled down, there was another small table taken. Our waitress was friendly, but after she brought the Miller Light for my husband and a draft beer "Fist City" for our daughter, she forgot about my lemonade. I had to remind her when she brought our food. She also just brought 1 Fish Taco when my daughter ordered 2, and had to place another order again. Not a big deal. When we left and passed by her, she didn't say anything like thank you or good bye, just looking at us. It was a little awkward. Well, maybe she's just not very outgoing. Hope that I was not expecting too much from a little eatery. Now on to the tacos. There were hits and misses. The Crispy Avocado Taco was very good! It's my first time tasting fried avocado, crispy and flavorful! I would order that again! However, the lamb in the Lamb Carnitas Taco was bland and rather dry. it's the first time that I ever had lamb that had no flavor. Although the mango slaw had a nice crunch, tart and refreshing, and went well with the lamb meat, it was skimpy and not enough to top all the meat. I joked to my husband that maybe that's the taste of munching on cardboard! I don't like to waste food and I wasn't full, but I could not continue eating, and had to waste half of the lamb taco. Husband thought that his Blackened Salmon Taco was OK, but his Steak Taco was not, since every bite of steak had gristle. He was surprised since that was supposed to be their signature taco. Daughter's 2 Fish tacos were good, except that she didn't like the flour taco shells. She prefers corn taco shells. My lamb taco had corn taco shells (2 layers) and the crispy avocado had flour shells. I love supporting local businesses and really planned to give Eataco 5 stars before we came, but had to deduct 1 star after we dined in. However, when I read more reviews afterward and found that many customers enjoyed the 2 bottles of salsa (1 green and 1 red) that came with the tacos, and we had no condiments of any kind on our table. Should I had a bottle of salsa, the Lamb Carnitas would have been edible. Unfortunately, I had to deduct another star. Our overall experience at Eataco was not bad, it took us only 55 minutes for the meal. It fits the bill when you need something quick and simple.
