Really spectacular little restaurant on Green Bay Road. Great personal service and delicious food. The clam chowder was very good as was the bread and the delicious quiche. We intend to visit often. Very pleasant lunch experience

First indoor dining experience since COVID hit. What a wonderful find this was on a mid week lunch when husband decided to take a day off of work. Completely comfortable here as staff are all wearing masks. Masks are requires of guests upon entry. The owner is so friendly and accommodating. We ordered a bottle of Bordeaux for lunch which hit the spot. I had the french onion soup to start which was so flavorful. My husband ordered the pate (not my thing) but he said delish. For lunch I ordered the chicken salad on their homemade bread very good. And my husbands ordered the Nicoise salad which he said was delicious. This is a cute little french spot and I'll surely be back! Bon Appetit!

    Food and celebration!

The food was delicious! Michael was a wonderful host, as was the staff. We celebrated a big family birthday, and were treated so well. We so enjoyed our time there! Thank you, Michael and staff, for making my sister's birthday so memorable.

This is an extraordinary find!!! A cozy intimate restaurant in Glencoe with the best food you can imagine and a staff that caters to you like family. We have had the butternut squash soup (best I've ever had) crisp fresh Caesar salad, delicious Amish duck and fabulous lamb shanks. Jennifer was such a helpful and friendly server and Michael the owner is so wonderful you feel like you've come home. We feel like we're eating at a beautiful cafe in Europe. Eating here is like being on a romantic vacation.

The restaurant is above the Sophia steakhouse, and within seconds of being up the stairs, you understand what the restaurant is trying to present. Class, ambiance, and moody vibes are the name of the game. It felt like eating in a French manor on a rainy night surrounded by the aristocracy. So obviously, I felt right in place. The lighting was gorgeous, and the views of the city right outside the window were the ideal backdrop for this meal. I ordered an imported cab, which was full-bodied and paired nicely with all that we ordered. The restaurant week menu was catered for you to purchase off the à la carte menu, which was fine because it was worth it. It's a $60 deal with an app, an entree, and a dessert. However, the portion sizes were more than adequate for each of these courses. For my opener, I ordered the duck confit, which was tender, flavorful, and, might I add, gorgeously plated as every dish was. I am not really a traditional duck guy, but I loved it. From there, the piece de resistance of the meal for me came out (off the à la carte menu), the french onion soup. I'm not even fronting when I say this was the second best I've had in the city (just behind Gretel). It was sweet, savory, and super cheesy as all french onion soups should be. From there, the branzino came out, which was tender in the right places, flaky in the right places, and had an amazing sauce and presentation. Similar to duck, I am not an avid seafood eater, so I have to trust a place before ordering it, and I'm glad I did here. It was also massive. I ended the evening with the creme brulee, which, if you weren't in the know, is my favorite dessert ever. This one was GOOD, and huge, so I was living. Service was super helpful, efficient, and attentive. No complaints!

Highlight was the French onion soup and the fries that accompany the steak frites. The salad and dessert were fine, but not memorable. Some things to note: -the bread service (baguette with butter) is not free, but it was positioned like it would be. That was kinda off putting when I saw the bill at the end (about $5) -the steak used in the steak frites was pretty tough, overcooked (asked for medium, came out close to well done), and wasn't a high quality piece of meat. Totally get why since 3 courses for $48 isn't that bad, and the French onion soup is typically $15 -we were sat promptly at our reservation time, but when we left the waiting area was absolutely packed TLDR, I'll come here for drinks and the French onion soup, and skip out on the rest.

For starters, we had a reservation which I would recommend. We were seated right away and while the place is large inside, I'm not sure what walk-in availability is like. The food: we really enjoyed the octopus, escargot, I had the Filet Mignon Au Poivre, and the banana/coconut entremet. The octopus was tender and flavorful; octopus cooked right (especially in smaller pieces) is hard to find so I was impressed. The escargot was nice and buttery/garlicky, and piping hot. I LOVED my Filet with the green peppercorn cream sauce! It was delicious and my husband was surprised I ate so much of it. It was cooked exactly as I asked, the meat had good flavor, and the sauce was delicious and well balanced + the right consistency. Lastly, the banana and coconut dessert was a pleasant surprise. The banana flavor was fresh (not artificial) and had the right balance of coconut. It was creamy, not too sweet, and had the right balance of textures with the outer coating and the crumble underneath - if you like banana or coconut at all I'd say it's a must order! The creme brulee was just okay. My issue was the service - the table next to ours LIT ON FIRE because a menu was over the top of a candle. After burning half the menu and the fire was getting larger, our partners ran over and put it out with their napkins. They yelled and there was NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT from the staff at all - at least 2 staff saw and one waiters eyes got big for a minute and she turned away. Not even a thank you from anyone to our partners for putting it out, and they had to ask for new napkins because theirs had black char on them. We were in the middle of enjoying our appetizers and my friend was just digging into her French onion soup from our first round and the staff kept trying to take our plates away. My friend had to tell them 3 times to please leave the soup at the table, and overall made us feel very rushed. We weren't taking a long time to eat at all so felt very weird? When the entrees were dropped on the table, my friend got a steak and they kept trying to give her a butter knife. It took multiple attempts to get the correct knife. Then once we were done eating it took a while to get our plates and old glasses cleared away. Overall service timing was off and their aggressiveness in the beginning of trying to take our plates away + the lack of response to A FIRE in the restaurant was pretty alarming. While I enjoyed the food there, the service was pretty bad and I feel unsafe with the lack of response to a fire in the restaurant so I don't think we'll return.
