    Sea bass

Food: 3 Decor: 4 Service: 4 I came here with my gf for dinner Saturday around 7pm http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ginoUhUXb6CB8cZjdZUm9w?userid=2fN8mN7uUjOw-QqtcgYqXQ#li3DR1yyUy3Rwvfr0kFsgQ. 1. Trio double lamb chops, 26 http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ginoUhUXb6CB8cZjdZUm9w?userid=2fN8mN7uUjOw-QqtcgYqXQ#U6CmzxYNCfafd3dF6SwSkw So-so. Lamb chops were a bit overcooked and a bit bland. 2. Chilean sea bass with lemon butter, 24 Okay. Sea bass was cooked well, but it was rather bland. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ginoUhUXb6CB8cZjdZUm9w?userid=2fN8mN7uUjOw-QqtcgYqXQ#yOS9vBkbC56nO-mRCER22Q 3. Fruit and grilled veggie sides Pretty good. Fruit plate was decently sized, but could have been fresher. 4. Smetannik, 5 http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ginoUhUXb6CB8cZjdZUm9w?userid=2fN8mN7uUjOw-QqtcgYqXQ#cqF4jeGKw7NjMl-wUgOTww Mediocre. Probably the most authentic dish we ordered, but it was too dense and dry. Would have been better by replacing the strawberry sauce with more fruit and something more moist (maybe ice cream). Service was good.

I wanted to try the restaurant tonight with my family and one other guest, total party size of 4 people. I tried booking a table through OpenTable, however NOTHING is available until 7:30p on Monday, March 28th 2022. Ok, no big deal, I'll just call the restaurant. I called the restaurant at 847-715-9440, listened to the menu and tapped on 1 for reservations. After 10-20 rings, I was promptly told by the automated phone system that I had selected an invalid mailbox. First sign that the restaurant doesn't care about its customers (or future customers). I tried a second time, and tapped on 0 (zero) for "all other" inquiries, I expected the same treatment, but amazingly someone answered. I asked about availability for an 8pm reservation, and was immediately told they were closing at 4pm. No why, wherefore, thank you for you interest, nothing pleasant about he interaction. I'm surprised they are closing so early on a FRIDAY, when lots of people go out. Makes me wonder why, .... For such an unusual closing hour, I would at a minimum have expected THE PAVILLION'S website to have indicated the early closing. Their website says they are open until 10p on Fridays and Saturdays, closed Sundays, and open until 9pm the rest of the week. The week as defined by their website does not include Monday, it's probably a safe bet they are closed on Mondays as well. (Full disclosure, Yelp shows them open 11a to 9p on Mondays.)

Impressive dinner at Pavilion! Honestly I didn't expect so much for this restaurant before I go, it's new in Northbrook area. Last Saturday I went there with my boyfriend, it's not a big restaurant but atmosphere is classy, small lounge looks nice too and serve variety of alcohol, they also have live music on specific days, its very nice to have dinner with live music, when we got there it was empty but right after one hour later, the whole restaurant was packed! It's a good place for late dinner during weekend too, since they open till 3am. Service was outstanding, our waitress is knowledgeable of the food and she was very nice! We ordered Lobster bisque for soup, it's a little too salty and didn't have too much lobster meat, but it's only 5 dollars, not bad to try. For main course I ordered sea bass and my boyfriend had salmon, didn't overcook my sea bass and it was a big portion. Dinner better than what I expected, we also order chocolate martini too, so overall I like this restaurant. Menu price is fair, not too expensive, food was standard, European style. There is another restaurant called Petergolf right next to Pavilion, it's a banquet hall and I think they do serve dinner too. Worth for 4 stars!

It's nice to be surprised and the Pavillion was a very pleasant and unexpected pleasure. The restaurant's roots seem to be Russian judging from the some of the help and other diners but the copious menu leans more to western Europe and the U.S. than to the east. Still, there are some eastern European dishes such a Rasputin Caviar Blini and Ukrainian Borscht but much of the menu is given to favorites such as Chilean Sea Bass, New York Strip Steak or Shrimp Tortellini Alfredo. The greater part of the menu is taken up by a marvelous assortment of hot and cold appetizers. Besides the caviar and borscht, one could choose Beef Carpaccio, Tuna Tartar, Crab Cake, Foie Gras or Artichoke Fritters, just to name a few. Indeed a good and interesting meal could be assembled from just the starters on this menu. We found the chef paid attention to the presentation as well as the flavor and service was attentive without being overbearing. Pavillion is certainly a good value and they currently have an $18, 3 course prix fixe dinner which is a steal.

Came here for dinner with the bf on a Saturday night. I wasn't a huge fan of the decor, but it was great otherwise. We ordered: - Trio double lamb chops - delicious. I ordered medium, but thinking back, I should've gotten it medium rare (I was warned that the medium might look well done, but I stuck with medium) - Chilean sea bass with lemon butter - really fresh and flaky and just well cooked - Sides, 2 with each entree: side salad had an amazing citrus dressing, veggies were nicely grilled, and we each got the fruit plate which turned out to be huge (we should've just gotten one to split) - Smetannik - just okay. The waitress recommended it and said that it's very authentic but may be an acquired taste. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't my fave, I just don't think the strawberry sauce went well with it. Service was really sweet, I knocked over my salad dressing so they moved us to another table. Also kept my water glass full. We had a restaurant.com voucher which we had no trouble using.

This was an interesting place to say the least, very clean, looks brand new, staff was great, our server was friendly and took very good care of us. Food, well I've had better. Beef carpaccio was ok, steak was ok, not seasoned at all, interesting that food was plated very nice however it was not tasty, nor fresh, the only dish we all tried and agreed was very good and didn't disappoint was the beet salad. I don't think I will be back, it wasn't enjoyable at all.

Beef Stragonoff. A must have in your order!

We were able to get last minute reservations for 8:30 on a Friday, which was surprising given how extremely busy this place is on the weekends. We arrived on time and were seated quickly without a wait, which was another impressive moment given how packed the restaurant was. Dining here is like dining in the city on the weekends, with a majority of the crowd tending toward older groups of friends or families without children. There was one family of four who brought their child with them, but generally we saw couples and groups of friends. Dress seems standardly smart casual. Food: The menu here is organized into three sections: small plates, mid-size meals, and entree-sized portions. Keep in mind the mid-sized plates can be on the larger side, so the tapas-style menu can be deceiving. We ordered the steak and frites and branzino as our mains, with polenta fries on the side. For apps, we ordered the butternut squash ravioli and were greeted with complimentary cheesy biscuits to start. We finished our meal with the olive oil cake, covered in raspberries. Based on what we ordered, we'd give this place a 4/5, simply because the steak my husband ordered was a tiny bit tough and overcooked (ordered medium rare, received medium well). The cut was a strip or a ribeye, so unfortunately on the tougher side, and less flavorful. My fish was nicely seared but the cannellini beans that were paired with the branzino just didn't do it for me. Branzino is a white fish that tolerates spice and garnishes very well, so it could have benefited from some more complex flavors. That said, we will be back for the ravioli. I'd wager that it is the best thing on the winter menu (this place rotates menu selections somewhat frequently). It was creamy, complex, and soft, with a delicious umami sauce. The olive oil cake we shared for dessert was also very delicious, moist and well-paired with simple cream and berries. Nice and simple but did the trick without being overwhelming or cloyingly sweet. The biscuits are also a nice touch: soft and buttery, not dry, and baked fresh. Overall, I'd say that veggie and pasta dishes are the way to go here, and potentially the fish if it is paired with a more complex side in the future. We look forward to future menus!

We first sat down for a meal, and coming on a early weeknight it was not that busy at all when we arrived. They had a happy hour deals for $6 of four different kinds of shareables. We tried all four. The loaded tots, Nashville hot chicken baos, onion dip with chips and southwest quesadillas. Our favorites were the loaded tots and onion dip. The loaded tots had a decent amount of small strips of bacon and was covered with a white and cheddar queso. Very good and tasty and the right amount of toppings on it. The onion dip was good too, the dip came in what looked like a smaller sauce side but there was plenty, we had leftover dip after finishing the chips. The bao were decent sized, came in a set of 2 and wasn't overly spicy. The least favorite was the quesadillas, just not much to the flavor and filling. After eating we played a 9 hole round of putt putt. The holes are fun and interactive. You pay for the round at the kiosks and then get your ball at the start of the course.
