Absolutely delicious Eastern European Ukrainian cuisine Everything is so delicious This is a family-owned cafe and the owner Alexandr is very attentive to the customers My favorites are homemade potatoes, herring not too salty which is a big plus, homemade juice- kompot, and of course, must try their deserts, especially Napoleon! Hopefully, they will open another location in the northwest suburbs Love the cozy atmosphere and the service is a top-notch

Eastern European cuisine has never been much better than from here. It includes plenty of Ukrainian specialties. Cafe Dacha is one of the best places in Highland Park for ethnic food. Good choices that are priced not too bad for the quality. The menu is kind of small but has a good variety of things. A charming atmosphere is inside but the patio is also cool. It specializes in Eastern European cuisine. The menu proudly has many Ukrainian options, including beer and food. It's only open for dinner. We came in and there was plenty of room. Beer list has lots of imports. It's about $8 for a bottle, but these are big ones. An Ukrainian beer they have is Lvivske 1715, in a bottle. This has notes of apricot, cereal, citrus, ginger, and rye grain. As for the food, we were limited in choices. We got the Vinegret. It's $13 for a big bowl. This basically is a salad made with beets, carrots, green onions, peas, pickles, and potatoes. Good stuff and the starches made it filling. The rest of the menu has meaty options. Good place for exploring some not so familiar cuisines. It has pretty okay prices for being a small place with good quality food. There's not many of the food items that aren't meat, but there's a few salads for vegetarians.

We are so happy Dacha is now open for lunch!! The food was fantastic, large portion sizes prefix menu is $24 which comes with a soup, salad, entrée, and drink. Which is an amazing deal! The service is excellent and patio ambience is delightful

Check out the cabbage rolls...they are as good as they look!

This was our first time visiting, and we will most definitely return. Everything is so delicious and fresh!

    Beef Stroganoff - delicious

Wow. I'm really impressed. Have been here twice now and I think the food is some of the best on the North Shore and the service is excellent. Favorites include: Beef Stroganoff - 5/5 - Love this over noodles Vareniki - 4/5 - these little potato dumplings are really good! Blintzes - 3/5 - these were okay, but my least favorite thing we tried. Honey cake - 5/5 - SO GOOD Napoleon - 5/5 - for me, this is my favorite dessert here, but more people at the table seemed to prefer the honey cake Cherry Vareniki - 4/5 - I also liked this a lot more than others did, and especially liked eating the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. (INSERT SHEEPISH GRIN HERE) They have a nice big outdoor patio and they do have two heat lamps and blankets if you choose to eat outside.

Really great and delicious Ukrainian cousins - holubtsi, varenyky, borscht and other. Also they have Ukrainian beer and cocktails. The personnel is very helpful and friendly. There's a great patio for a summer party, we have enjoyed celebrating Independence Day of Ukraine there! Also, they speak Ukrainian. Definitely recommended!

The staff, especially the girls, are always eager to make sure you're happy and well taken care of. The only thing I'm not completely thrilled about is the food. It's not bad--far from it--but everything I've tried has been just average. I absolutely love octopus and figured I couldn't go wrong with it, but unfortunately, even that didn't compare to other places I've had it. That said, everything else is perfect. Maybe it just comes down to personal taste, but I've tried many dishes here, and none of them really stood out.

Each room is different from the next, it makes it more unique. The employees were very pleasant and checked on us often. We ordered beef tongue, cheese bites mix, seafood mix, Balkan style meats, lamb chops, skirt steak, garash cake, creme brûlée. Portion sizes are large and great for sharing with friends or family. We did family style and shared everything. Prices were fair. Overall 4.5. -beef tongue 5 - kind of expensive but worth it. One of the best appetizers to get. Tons of flavor and very little chewing. -cheese bites mix 5 -feta and mozzarella cheese. The mozzarella sticks look different from your average American version. The cheese pull is not as stretchy but it's still well made. -seafood mix 5 - very fresh seafood. Perfect if you want to try a variety. The seafood is tender and moist. -Balkan style meats 4 - I love Balkan meats but the pork chop was painfully dry. The other meats were moist and robust. -lamb chops 5 - lamb chops cooked beautifully medium. Use the sauce provided. The rice was also very good. -skirt steak 5 - very tasty meat. It wasn't dry, cooked medium. Risotto was delicious. -garash cake 5 - The cake was light, not super rich. It's very good. -creme brûlée 5 - very creamy version of the creme brûlée. I never had one this creamy before.

On a weekday evening, as expected, the restaurant was not busy.  We were promptly seated at a 4-top table (2 × 2-top) against the right wall, with some other 2-tops on both sides.  Like many reviewers had mentioned, the venue was beautiful, modern and chic. There were 7 tables occupied, including us.  The music that they had was not too loud, just that customers' conversations were amplified by the box shape open dining area.  If we focused enough, we could hear every conversation if we wanted to.  This was obvious when a table of about 6 women got seated at a table near the front door, some of them laughed and talked very loudly.  My husband and I just found it funny and didn't let that bother us.  However, when the restaurant is filled on busier days, it might be a different story. Our server, Patrick, was very nice and attentive.  Since they did not list drinks on their menu except those with alcohol, I asked him about non-alcoholic drinks.  After a brief "discussion", he asked me to leave it to him to make me a drink with mango.  He came up with a beautiful drink that was good and refreshing, with some mango flavor.  It was Virgin Paloma on our receipt for $8, which was reasonable.  He was very polite and checked in on us several times at appropriate times during our dinner.  The pace of the dinner was good, we spent a total of an hour and 15 minutes in the restaurant. Patrick might be the only waiter serving all the tables that evening, though. I also ordered Grilled Octopus ($22) which was very good, tender and flavorful, but was a little too salty to my taste.  The small pita bread wedges were warm and fluffy with some crispy edges, the beet hummus was creamy, and everything was delicious and tasted fresh.  I generously shared 2 little bites of octopus with my husband and I finished the entire plate, it was so good!  My husband really liked his Spiked White Fish ($29) and I shared a bite of that too.  He also had a House Salad for $6, that was a very good value.  He enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc Crossing ($12) too.  We also shared an order of Crème Brulee ($8), that was creamy and cooked perfectly.  We ordered a takeout order of Rigatoni with Sausage ($23), that was a good portion, and was still delicious and al dente the next day after being microwaved. I am so happy that we found Social Inn - a hidden gem in Plaza del Prado, it's not far from home, with comfortable and beautiful ambiance, excellent service (from Patrick), an attractive menu with enticing food (fresh ingredients and appealing plating), and reasonable prices, we will definitely be back!

We were in the area late in the day and remembered Social Inn was open, so we went. We ordered a variety of items. I did order my burger medium and it was delivered well done, but it was still good. They also have one of the best gluten-free buns I've ever had. I do wish they were open at lunch time still, but I understand they need to be open for their busiest hours. Social Inn is a great option when you are in the Glenview area.
