We came on a double date for Sunday dinner. The place is hidden off Shermer Road in the club house of the public golf course. Parking is easy and free and the restaurant is attractive with a view of the golf course and lake. Service was provided by a young high school student being trained by a more-experienced gentleman. It was attentive, efficient and lovely. We all had handmade pasta dishes and shared the calamari appetizer and a family-sized salad. The food was tasty with an excellent presentation. I also had a glass of the house chianti which was good. Portions were reasonable in size and comparable in price to other restaurants in the area. Unfortunately the golf course is under construction, so the paver piles on the patio and dirty putting green drew our attention but that's not the fault of the restaurant. Hate having to write this. First off, lovely spot on the golf course. Nice enough menu. Really rough night for the restaurant. Must say that the team of servers was absolutely fabulous under dreadful circumstances. Apparently, a graduation party that they were hosting outside had 160 people show vs the plan of 80. Crushed them. Was also a nice night, so suspect they had a lot of walk ins (we had a reservation). Net result was ugly. What should have been about an 45-60 minute long dinner was more than twice that. Servers and kitchen were slammed. Sigh. Too long waits for drinks, salads, and entrees. Like...really long. One entree (steak) came out cold and we (with profound apologies) asked that it go back and be taken off the bill. In fairness, the other three entrees (orichiette, eggplant parm, and check parm) were good and more than ample in size, as was the large salad (enough for four, as our excellent if stressed server advised us). When the bill came ... literally more than two hours after we were seated... I notified the team that they seem to have left a round of drinks off of our tab. I expected that the answer would be " we're sorry for the challenges tonight ... that round is on us." It wasn't. They dutifully prepared a second tab, with a good natured but ill-timed "we're generous but not THAT generous." We left a generous tip on both the main tab and the drinks-that-should-have-been-comped tab. Again, I feel awful for the team working that night who did their very best. But might have been handled way better. Would have been a good call to tell the tables who were waiting about their challenges ... to manage expectations. And yes, I'd have expected a gesture like "we'll buy you a round" for a pretty disastrous dinner. Great setting though. Nice though menu. And again, fabulous team. My daughter and I wanted to try something new in the area and this restaurant was in my yelp collection. First, the restaurant is inside a Golf Club. We went for an early dinner around 6pm. The restaurant was empty but there were two events going one, outdoor and in their party room. The arancini balls were okay. The vodka pasta with sausage was different. The sauce was not good. The pasta was huge and overcooked. The chicken parmesan left A LOT to be desired in a bed of overcooked flavorless spaghetti. Over priced for the food received. $25 per plate. This is fine when the food is good. I do not recommend going here for Italian food. Service was great. Our waitress was attentive. read more

This review is for a DoorDash delivery. The burger here is absolutely delicious. They use Forza meat for their perfectly grilled double burger. It comes with applewood smoked bacon, smoked pimento cheese (wow),pickles and my favorite bacon-onion jam. It's not smashed it's 2 four ounce burgers. I also had the truffle fries. This restaurant was a total surprise! It's so close to where I live and I had no idea it was even there. The rigatoni was incredible as was the eggplant stack. Birthday/Christmas Eve celebration. Place was cute and a bit confusing to find at first (it was night time and at a gold course). I'll have to go during the day to enjoy the views. Place was decorated for the holidays and one of the few spots that I was able to get a last minute rsvp after another restaurant cancelled our rsvp because of a system error. Service and server were great, food choices were not as many as I would've desired but we managed to find our picks. Overall nice place. Hidden gem in Glenview at the golf course. This is NOT a standard clubhouse type place where it feels like mainly golf. This is a nicer restaurant to try, and the main thing is that the food is outstanding. Truly top notch. Not only do they even make their own pasta, but the burger I had there was literally one of the best I have had. No joke, I think this is better than Au Cheval or some other popular places I've tried in Chicago. They even make their desserts. Looking forward to going back! read more

My wife and i stopped in while visiting Chicago. I would classify this place as elevated bar food not really Italian. I had there short ribs gnocchi which was decent but my wifes dish Pugliese Braciole had a strange taste and was just not very good. Service was good as our server Fidel had a trainee. The trainee did just fine but we ended up having to take the bill to the bar after being done for 15 minutes slightly annoying. Might have to give this place another try next time we are in the area. read more

First time here, we took the family for lunch Sunday after Mass. Atmosphere is nice when the weather is good. We sat outside. Id like to like this place but I don't think we'd come back for lunch. * For an Italian restaurant the pasta options at lunch are super limited And probably some of the least creative choices on their menu: bucatini with olive oil and chicken parm spaghetti. Unfortunately it was the pictures of pasta from the dinner menu that drew us in but it was a bit disappointing to learn when we got there they didn't make those dishes earlier in the day. * I ordered a Coarse Chopped Salad. I was asked what dressing I wanted. I said Caesar. The salad came out with an Italian vinaigrette and it is absolutely not chopped. I noticed a few bites in and so I don't contribute to food waste I decided to just eat it and not make the same mistake again. This was just a salad - the only reason I order chopped salads is because they are chopped. So that was a disappointment. * I ordered a Diet Coke. I never got said Diet Coke. I would have asked but there were no check ins after the mains came out. And frankly I didn't notice, but that's not my job. I think at least for lunch, the food was just okay. No one was blown away. I won't be back but I think people should give it a try and judge for themselves. read more

Since we ate on the terrace, I didn't really check out inside the restaurant. The view of the golf course is beautiful. The food was delicious and one can see they take great pride in what they serve. They didn't rush us. The service was a little slow. There was the end of a gold outing while we were eating. The guys were a little rowdy and smoking cigars. Once they left our meal was basically over. So that wasn't too pleasant. But we still enjoyed ourselves. read more

First time dining here. It was crowded, so that was a good sign. There Ice Tea was terrible tasting and I should have sent it back. Our group ordered various items. Salads were very good. The Chicken Rice soup was a large bowl and tasty. It came with garlic bread which wasn't toasted enough. The Eggplant Parm was huge and good but have had better. I ordered the Meatball appetizer which was good but not enough sauce. The toast points that came with it was dry with a burnt taste. Service was good. Took the wife out on date night to this restaurant. She was a little apprehensive because it's located in the Glenview Park District golf club. Well.... After the dinner... she was surprised at the quality and how nice the atmosphere was on the outdoor porch overlooking the golf course. The food was outstanding. Top notch. We shared the salad and the entree. The grilled ceaser salad was unbelievable. Fantastic flavor from the grill. Try it. The enuocci dish was also fantastic. Add an order of meatballs and we were full. I wanted to pass on the desert.... But who can say no on date night???? Brownie sunday. Whew. It was a great topper to a great meal. Highly recommended. This restaurant is a hidden gem, quite literally. I had no idea if I was in the right place as I drove into the Glenview Golf Course. I was, and was rewarded with a wonderful meal. The room itself is rather nondescript but nice enough, and the sound level was perfect. In the daytime or nice weather, the view and the patio would be lovely. The food was just terrific. We shared the eggplant stack, which was as good as it gets. The eggplant was breaded and fried perfectly, and the red sauce was exceptional. The whitefish was also delicious and was beautifully plated. The pappardelle was made with fresh made pasta and the bolognese, again, really good. We can't wait to go back. read more

My first time here since this restaurant reopened under Coarse Italian. It was girls night out and this place didn't disappoint. Al fresco dinner with patio heater and a beautiful view of the gold course. A pretty nice wine list to start. I had the redWe shared the prosciutto wrapped goat cheese stuffed dates and they were so good. For dinner I got the Short Rib Gnocchi and it was absolutely delish! The meat was so tender and such great flavor. I will definitely be back again. UPDATE: Just had curb side pick up tonight with my husband and he loved it. We had the Pepperoni & Hot Honey Thin Crust Pizza. Absolutely delish. Its not that spicy more of sweet heat. We also shared the arancini. A great flavor and a traditional offering with rice & peas inside with a light breading. And we also shared the grilled romaine Caesar Salad with a nice charred flavor with shaved parm & croutons. It's a decent place to eat at and definitely a good spot if people want to stay after golf for lunch or dinner. The food and service, however, for me, doesn't live up to other Italian places. Just a note, I think the seating should be a little more spaced out at this time right now, but it's still spacious, nonetheless. The service was good and attentive overall. I started with the prosciutto-wrapped dates, buffalo wings, and arancini. My favorite appetizer was the dates. Good balance of salty prosciutto and the richness of the goat cheese along with the sweet dates. Highly recommend for an elegant appetizer. The buffalo wings were well cooked and the sauce was nice and tangy. The arancini were a little heavy and rich, not my overall favorite of the meal. For entrees, I sampled the spaghetti polpette (spaghetti and meatballs) and the crispy stuffed chicken. The crispy stuffed chicken was delicious. The risotto stuffing was flavored nicely and had a perfect creamy texture. The spaghetti polpette was alright. I found the spaghetti to be overly sauced and a tad overcooked. The meatballs were kind of tough and bland; I really don't recommend this dish at all. I ended with bambolini and while they were good with the chocolate sauce, the inside was a little flat and one-note overall. In all, it's a decent place, not a place I would rush to come back to, but most everything was good tasting. read more

Went here for a birthday dinner after hearing lots of great reviews. I was completely unaware that this is part of a golf course and it is a little confusing as to finding the entrance. Once inside the restaurant itself it is very pretty, with TVs showing sports but no sound and a full bar. There is a small dining area with a door to a much larger maybe private room. In the summer there is seating outside. The food was excellent and the wine was good. The confusing thing to me was there was only three other people in the entire restaurant. It was a Wednesday night but still.....We even met the owner and the woman who was the hostess was also the waitress she said it is usually more consistently busy.
