An excellent choice for a nice dinner out. A classy establishment with a beautiful menu. We dined in a few months back for a very late birthday celebration. Our table bread was nice. It seemed to be a hit with those at the table. I started with a side Caesar salad. It was fresh and savory, is definitely one of the best I've had. The lemon pepper chicken breasts were pretty good . They were quite juicy, and though, while flavorful, I feel could've had a little bit more to offer. I definitely enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting to. French fries were also really good. Fresh cut and well seasoned. Finished the night off with an light and fresh key lime pie. It was a perfect personal size. The right balance of tangy and sweet. Our waitress was so nice and great at her job. Certainly a meal to remember.
We went to this place on a whim because we were looking for a place with steak. When we got here it seemed crowded but they had a spot for us for no reservations people so that was great because we were kind of in a hurry to eat and go. Anyways I ordered the Crispy Fried Fresh Calamari and the Friday and Saturday special Friday & Saturday Filet Mignon Wellington. I got to say this meal was good I would definitely come back here if I ever visit Chicago again. The waitress was great and always kept all of our waters full. The place was nice and up beat playing some oldies so that was a nice touch. We definitely recommend this place.
We met with a group of 10 / great service, we shared appetizer (no pics, apologies!). I picked the porterhouse , medium rare. And was impressed that they managed it well !!! Commonly you're getting it medium. The potatoes were good but not outstanding. A little strange that they ran out of A one ( and didn't offer any alternatives ) All in all a good experience, will go there again in a smaller group to see how they treat us then.
We had a work dinner here for the holidays. They have a separate GF menu with many options. The server offered GF bread to start. I ordered the baked goat cheese with GF pita as an app and it was amazing. For my entree I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich on a GF bun with a-gratin potatoes. All the food came out with special allergy sticks in for awareness. They also have a flourless chocolate cake. The service was excellent and I felt very safe eating here. Can't wait to come back!
Wildfire knocked it out of the park with a lovely birthday dinner in their private wine room. This was huge for our family with a 2 year old and an 8-month old! The service team (likely loving engaging with the kiddos) had a great time and took wonderful care of us. Standouts at this dinner were the roumanian steak, bacon wrapped scallops and tasty root vegetables.
Our service for a group of 8 last night was fantastic! The server was super friendly and checked in on us frequently. We were lucky enough to get a private room which was perfect since we had a newborn baby with our group. I started with a french onion soup and it was a great choice. It had a rich onion broth with a broiled cheese top. The chopped salad was perfect as always. The avocado, bleu cheese, and dressing elevate it. I went with the special of the night - a turkey dinner. So yummy! I wish the portion size was bigger. My grandma had it in the past and gotten a bigger portion size. Some other things we enjoyed were the French dip sandwich, steak sandwich, halibut, bbq ribs, and chicken. Very nice option for a special occasion. I loved every dessert.
The service was 10/10. The salad and sandwich were amazing. The calamari was pretty good. A few pieces were overcooked. But overall from the time I walked in, until dinner was over I was impressed. If you are ever in the area be sure to have some dinner here! The place was clean and nice.
I came into wildfire and was a little thrown off when asked to show 2 different forms of identification when I ordered a drink. Granted I am only 21 so I understand why there may be speculation as I deal with this on occasion when I go out and have drinks. I will say my server (although I don't remember her name) was really polite and checked on me throughout my meal as well as the manager Tim to assure that I was enjoying everything. That being said the food was fantastic. I ordered calamari to start and filet mignon with mashed potatoes and gravy for my main dish. The calamari was delicious and the portion was well worth the price. I ordered the filet mignon as medium rare to leave room incase I wanted it cooked a little more because I am very picky with my steak. It came out just a little too red for me (which I expected) so I sent it back and had them throw it back on and Tim brought it out and had me cut into it to make sure it was well enough. As someone who is very critical with how their steak is cooked I really appreciated that. The filet mignon had the perfect char on the outside and melted in my mouth which is what I always expect when ordering a filet mignon. Of course the lemon drop martinis I ordered were great and I was satisfied with those as well. The ambiance was nice and exactly the vibe I was looking for when going to a steak house. They played some subtle jazzy music and the lighting was just right. Overall my experience here was great and I will definitely be eating here again throughout my stay to try their other menu items.
It feels like a bit of a time warp, stepping into Wildfire. The dark woods, the cozy booths, the crooners over the sound system..,it feels like a 1930s supper club .., which isn't a bad thing. Expect traditional fare and you will be right at home. The skillet cornbread came out hot from the oven, the pan was smoking hot, and the butter just oozed over it. It was crisp outside, soft inside with kernels, and this might have been enough. My companion ordered crab and shrimp bisque which was thick, rich and decadent. They also had an enormous shoe-sized baked potato. I had the macadamia nut encrusted halibut which was buttery, crispy and with a rich sauce and flaky white halibut. The au gratin potatoes were soft, tender and indulgent. The creamed spinach was ok -- I think it had too much nutmeg for my taste. My other companion had the medallion trio which had different savory crusts like horseradish and blue cheese. They said the filet was very tender but in my opinion was slightly overdone. Service was ok. They checked on us often during the first half of our meal, but once they dropped off the entrees they didn't check back. I would have liked to call their attention to my companion's burger, which looked rare/medium rare instead of medium/well, but they were ok with it so I didn't press it. Normally at an establishment such as this I would like to peruse the dessert selections but by the time they came back I was ready to go. Our meal was quite good but there were areas for improvement. The daily specials sounded interesting so it might be nice to come back during the week to try one of those -- like Monday's Southern Fried Chicken.
The food is delicious, but the prices are clearly overpriced. The service is pleasant, but not all the waiters are friendly. We had a very friendly waiter, but the table next to us wasn't so lucky.
Last day for scratch offs, had the turkey special, really wasn't so special. Somehow this place always has some fat in the turkey, better turkey at Max's off Skokie road. The service was great, the bread wasn't warm and was kind of stale , hard, the roast beef was excellent
Excellent food, service & ambiance! We visited this restaurant while visiting Illinois, to celebrate my son's birthday. The day before arriving, we made a reservation. Due to travel delays, we had to change the reservation time, which they were super understanding and accommodating. The restaurant was kind of hidden behind a hotel. It did have ample surface parking. When you enter, you're greeted by friendly staff. The ambiance is quaint and pleasant. Seating is abundant and comfortable. The food was excellent. I had a spicy margarita, which was absolutely delicious. Our server was kind and attentive. Shoutout to the manager who graciously treated us to dessert as we visited for the first time. The flourless chocolate cake had more a brownie consistency to me, but it was still good. My husband enjoyed his cherry pie. The prime rib was delicious, as well as the chicken moreno and the turkey burger. We will definitely go back when we visit again.
I'm currently craving Wildfire's limited time Blackberry Creme Brûlée pie. It's available typically during the month of November, but I wish it was available year-round. Their Wildorf Salad is also absolutely phenomenal. The filet trio is always a good choice! Don't skip dessert and appetizers! Wonderful, friendly service in a causal, but fancy setting. Wildfire is a good spot for any occasion!
Very delicious prime rib . It was perfect . I got full so I brought it home for later. The servers were so nice ! It's a very beautiful resturant low lights. The serving area and cooking area is very clean . They have beautiful music Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra etc playing in the background . I will return again. Maybe even get dessert . Today was fresh peach pie . It would have been yummy ! read more
I was recommended this restaurant by the hotel staff as it was close and offered food options for me and my team. Service from Karsten was top notch. I really liked the ambiance with a 40's themed decor and pictures. The old school booths made for a nostalgic feeling. I didn't get a picture of everything ordered but the tuna tartare was decent. Being a fisherman, the tuna quality could be a little better. The free dinner rolls and butter were really good. For my main I got the crusted pork chops with au gratin potatoes. Very classic dish and was excellent. I didn't leave 1 bite on my plate. We didn't have room for dessert but I'm sure it would be good. I would come back to try the steaks on their menu for sure. read more

Food was AMAZING! I'm usually not a fan of any fish, but last visit I tried a family member's halibut and knew I had to get it myself. You have to get the Au Gratin Potatoes they're delicious. I don't know what they put on the roasted market vegetables but I couldn't stop eating them. Definitely worth every penny and that's saying a lot since it's pretty pricy. My server was amazing. He accommodated my boyfriend's picky requests and recommended he get the cottage fries which were also delicious. This place is always very clean and all the staff is very attentive to empty plates and glasses and take them out of the way immediately to make more space. Their bread was also very delicious while we waited for the appetizers. I tried the crab cakes (pretty good, fresh) shrimp (nothing fancy) cornbread (YOU HAVE TO TRY IT if you love sweet treats) Overall I will be back! read more
My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day at Wildfire and had an enjoyable time. The decor inside has an art deco, 1920's, Great Gatsby vibe. It was extremely busy, but the restaurant was clean, and all of the staff were polite and helpful. We had a reservation and were seated within minutes of our reserved time. My husband ordered the Greek salad, Porterhouse steak, and red skin mashed potatoes. I had the crab cake appetizer, lemon pepper chicken, and au gratin potatoes. The mashed potatoes were bland, but everything else was good. We weren't blown away by any of it, but it was good. It is very pricy for the quality, so I don't think that I would go back again, but it was good to try once. read more

Our group had a small private party in one of their rooms and we had the most wonderful server. Our server has the most vibrant personality, professional and attentive. Our group ordered few appetizer, including the chopped salad, calamari and mushroom stuff with crabs. Favorite appetizers for that night was definitely the calamari. I ordered the prime rib which was cooked perfectly to my liking with a side of the cottage fries. French onion soup was delicious. I also got to try my sister's lobster bisque which was pretty good. read more
