    Some flair about the woods.

I was told about this place from a friend. Being it is my late mom's name, they already have a leg up and you KNOW it's gotta be good!! My friend knows I'm a perch fanatic, so here we go. Walking in, it is quaint and a friendly atmosphere. Our bartender, Shannon, was quite friendly and engaging. She was very helpful in helping us chose our lunches, and she even gave us a free sample of the delicious potato salad. We both ordered half perch and half cod fish fry plates. I had clam chowder and the wife had a salad for starters. Both good. The fish and fries were delicious. The perch was actually perch and not zander fish that some try to pass off as "lake perch." This is Yellow Perch. A midwestern staple. Loved the throw back vibe of the place, the decor, and if I'm back in the area, we will most surely come back again.

The Fish fry at Rita's is awesome. We all had the same: Fresh Perch. You get a salad or soup, Perch, and we ordered fries for the side. Rita's has the feel of a supper club, in a home-like establishment. The bar is lively, the video games up front are ringing, and the dining area was busy and bustling. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive. Overall, a great dinner in a cozy and quaint dining room. I've been to Rita's a few times. I'll keep coming back as it's a casual, laid back place with great grub. What's not to like?

I am stingy with five stars, but Rita's deserves it, from the fresh ingredients, depth of menu, perfect kitchen execution and a delightful, informed server. This place is way out of my neck of the woods, but we were going to a historical site nearby, so I searched out lunch options, and there were quite a few. But Rita's won my vote when I noted they had fish fry multiple days of the week, and on the fry menu are my favorites, walleye, bluegill, and lake perch. Seldom seen together, and they told me I could mix and match if I chose. But honestly, I see bluegill on so few menus I had to go for it, and the tiny filets were perfectly battered and fried, fries were thin and crispy, slaw and tartar sauce were a 10. Soup or salad is also included with the entrees, and while I'm not big on either, I went with the salad, and it was crisp and fresh, blue cheese dressing was my choice and it came in two ramekins, one a creamy dressing, the other blue cheese chunks. Nice touch. Plump cherry tomatoes and house-baked croutons rounded off the bowl. The server told me they make all their salads in-house, and they have a lot of choices. They have a lengthy menu, and a different special each day. I will return. You should go as soon as you can. Not a large space, so getting there early seems like a plan to me.

They were great and friendly and I did not mention or complain about the lack of customizations to them nor did I complain about the onions- i did not say a word when trying to figure out kikosk (or tablet whatever you call it) Kikosk ordering at the counter- It would not allow me to add sauce on side. There was no description of what it was so was confusing when ordered at first. The menu/kikosk doesnt say what kind of sauce- drives me crazy when there is no clear definition for people who are picky or cant have certain items in their food. My shake did not come with whipped cream unlike pictures or social media feeds. Fountain drink was flat to my disappointment so got refunded for that only and went with water. Clean taste. Burger has great potential but if they are not allowing us to customize it to our own preference it will fail in this location. Lack of toppings to my dismay- When I got my burger with the sauce cheese and grilled onions, it looked good at first glance. When I bit into the grilled onions it was not tender/soft it was like eating stringy rope with the burger yanking it out with my teeth . Sauce wasnt memoriable for me. Still have no idea what it consisted of even few days later. Again Bun/meat was delish driving me on eating the burger. Fries were ok- nothing to write home about. Not coming back though until they improve on some areas. This is too expensive for the mistakes/lack of customization/options for a picky person like me. If it was signifcantly less in cost I would have let it slide and bring home plain burgers and customize it at home. But this was a HUGE bucket list for me being open minded about what went on my burger (I usually ask for plain with certain toppings only) Best of luck to this establishment!

From going to corporate events and hanging out with friends, I've gone to Yard House a good amount…read moreand always enjoyed the food, but never found it to be super special. My food experience at this location was a bit better than other locations I've tried and makes me excited to come back to try more items. Like other locations, there is plenty of parking and interior resembles a more upscale sports bar. Service is relatively quick despite how busy they are and prices are pretty fair for the quality of food. I started my meal off with Poke Nachos, one of four that I've had in the last few months and this was possibly the best of the bunch. This had a good amount of raw ahi tuna (though a few more chunks would be nice) and added some additional flavors through nori and sesame seeds so that it was a bit less sauce dependent than other versions I've tried. The wontons were super crispy and avocado was nice and creamy. The mix of serranos, white truffle sauce, sweet soy ginger sauce, sriracha aioli, cilantro, and green onions all mixed together to create a great flavor. I was very impressed with the amount of flavor packed into a dish that's only 880 calories. The crispy traditional wings were also cooked nicely, the skin was nice and crispy while the meat was not overcooked. The buffalo sauce was a bit light for me, though good if you aren't looking for something that's too tangy or spicy. The Korean chili garlic had the right level of sweetness mixed with a good amount of garlic flavor and a light level of spiciness. This is one of the better preparations I've had outside of Korean Fried Chicken specialist restaurants. For entrees the Ahi Tuna Crunchy salad is one of the better versions of this dish that I've had as well. The field greens, broccoli slaw, and crispy wontons were a nice base with the soy vinaigrette -- but the star of the dish was the seared rare and blackened ahi tuna. Super flavorful and prepared just right, this was better than the steak I had eaten for lunch and again a very healthy way to pack a lot of flavor into a low number of calories. On the flipside, the kurobata pork sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've had so far this year. The berkshire pork isn't super fatty, but just enough to have a great level of tenderness and flavor when grilled. The candied bacon, white american cheese, and house-made blueberry ketchup did a fantastic job of adding some saltiness and just a bit of extra fat (without seeming excessive) and giving the dish just a little acid. The total combination worked perfectly in harmony and is worth making a special trip to eat again. I ended the meal with the S'more brownie meltdown. This was done well -- with a nice fudge brownie that had great chocolate flavor and matched perfectly with the graham cracker toffee. This would've been the highlight of the dish, had it not been for the delicious combination of the marshmallow gelato and dark chocolate sauce. I'm not a giant fan of marshmallows, but this gelato was amazing and tied everything together perfectly. Overall, an unexpectedly great experience from a restaurant chain that I've gone to many times. Without a doubt, I know which location to take my friends and family to for special meals in the future.

Our server Lindsey was new but they were absolutely amazing! We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an aappetizer and they were very tasty with the Gochujang sauce. It was crispy without being burnt. For my entree I have the Korean cheesesteak. The meat was sauced perfectly and the pairing with the green onions and kimchi brought it together nicely. I upgraded to truffle parmesan fries. We ordered fish and chips, mix n match tacos, chicken and pancakes and everyone seemed to enjoy what they ate. They also do a little something special for your bday. Parking is not big enough so you have to get lucky. If you're big on beer this is the place ro go to try lots of different options. They also have a good happy hour which is why it was packed when we made it a little after.

It is a noisy place full of older customers that know everyone in the place. Lots of customers hugging the staff, talking with the owners, and other tables. A great atmosphere if you are a local. One of the owners even suggested carrot cake for our desert. Really good by the way. We did see a number of regulars tables that were receiving complimentary appetizers. I get it, but you should treat first time customers the same to make them repeat customers? The issue was with service and how we were treated after we had to get service. Our server disappeared once our main course was ordered. Yes the place was packed, but the server made sure she kept on touching base with the regulars tables and we received less attention. Well like no attention. Well like we had to go to the bar to one of the owners to get our check. Well and when my significant other tried to comment that we had a lack in service the owner walked away from us. She turned a really nice first time experience into a never going back and write a bad review experience. (And my significant other was mad the whole evening, which made the event worse for me.) I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, the staple menu item I order each time I visit. My guest ordered the Mongolian beef. My pad Thai came out visibly different than times past. It looks almost watered down and the tofu was not coated and seared with the beautiful crust it normally has. I ate it and it tasted... sour. Normally this pad Thai leans savory over sweet, but this time it just straight up tasted sour. The tofu was nothing to write home about, which is typically not the experience I have here. The Mongolian beef tasted like it had more sear on the meat than actual beef. It tasted over-charred. The rice and veggies were good, but that's kind of a simple feat. I ordered the Pomegrantate martini which was good. The space was also very hot, I understand it's a hot day and a busy restaurant but my legs were dripping in sweat the entire hour we were there. I will give them a try again, because I know from previous experiences the pad Thai was usually great. That tofu is what I keep coming back for! Hopefully next time it'll meet my expectations. This was this past weekend on Friday night.
