This place is extremely noisy if you sit inside, difficult to have a conversation. The service was good (note that there are different servers involved, you can also just order from the little tablet they have on each table). We went for happy hour and enjoyed very big portions of appetizers! Can't miss their fried cheese curds, those are outstanding! From going to corporate events and hanging out with friends, I've gone to Yard House a good amount and always enjoyed the food, but never found it to be super special. My food experience at this location was a bit better than other locations I've tried and makes me excited to come back to try more items. Like other locations, there is plenty of parking and interior resembles a more upscale sports bar. Service is relatively quick despite how busy they are and prices are pretty fair for the quality of food. I started my meal off with Poke Nachos, one of four that I've had in the last few months and this was possibly the best of the bunch. This had a good amount of raw ahi tuna (though a few more chunks would be nice) and added some additional flavors through nori and sesame seeds so that it was a bit less sauce dependent than other versions I've tried. The wontons were super crispy and avocado was nice and creamy. The mix of serranos, white truffle sauce, sweet soy ginger sauce, sriracha aioli, cilantro, and green onions all mixed together to create a great flavor. I was very impressed with the amount of flavor packed into a dish that's only 880 calories. The crispy traditional wings were also cooked nicely, the skin was nice and crispy while the meat was not overcooked. The buffalo sauce was a bit light for me, though good if you aren't looking for something that's too tangy or spicy. The Korean chili garlic had the right level of sweetness mixed with a good amount of garlic flavor and a light level of spiciness. This is one of the better preparations I've had outside of Korean Fried Chicken specialist restaurants. For entrees the Ahi Tuna Crunchy salad is one of the better versions of this dish that I've had as well. The field greens, broccoli slaw, and crispy wontons were a nice base with the soy vinaigrette -- but the star of the dish was the seared rare and blackened ahi tuna. Super flavorful and prepared just right, this was better than the steak I had eaten for lunch and again a very healthy way to pack a lot of flavor into a low number of calories. On the flipside, the kurobata pork sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've had so far this year. The berkshire pork isn't super fatty, but just enough to have a great level of tenderness and flavor when grilled. The candied bacon, white american cheese, and house-made blueberry ketchup did a fantastic job of adding some saltiness and just a bit of extra fat (without seeming excessive) and giving the dish just a little acid. The total combination worked perfectly in harmony and is worth making a special trip to eat again. I ended the meal with the S'more brownie meltdown. This was done well -- with a nice fudge brownie that had great chocolate flavor and matched perfectly with the graham cracker toffee. This would've been the highlight of the dish, had it not been for the delicious combination of the marshmallow gelato and dark chocolate sauce. I'm not a giant fan of marshmallows, but this gelato was amazing and tied everything together perfectly. Overall, an unexpectedly great experience from a restaurant chain that I've gone to many times. Without a doubt, I know which location to take my friends and family to for special meals in the future. read more

Came to watch the World Cup Finals..even though it was a packed house they were able to seat us in 20 min. Service and food is always a consistent 10. Everyone was really into the game so it made the match even more exciting. Good to see a large turnout for Futbol! Bathrooms are clean, and not smelly. First time visitor to Yard House from out of town, and what a great establishment with a solid vibe. The atmosphere is exactly what I was hoping for, and it was perfect with a very eclectic music playing throughout. I was helped by Jenni at the bar and she was fantastic. She introduced herself, and didn't skip a beat. I didn't have to wait long to order a beer (of which they have MANY), a she even gave me her opinion on an appetizer choice. Throughout the entire time there she checked on me regularly but not in a way that was almost too much. For my appetizer I had the Four Cheese Spinach Dip, and that was a solid recommendation I took from my bartender. Very glad that I did, great rich taste and not too heavy which was phenomenal. Lastly, I decided to get a pizza since it was happy hour which take note that most if not all their appetizers and pizzas are on the 3-6 PM happy hour menu, so take advantage. I got 'The Carnivore' , and it had a a nice, savory, meaty taste. The pizza was perfectly baked, the dough was fresh and I have NO complaints. So whether you are a local, or a traveling out of towner like me I HIGHLY recommend Yard House. I know it's a franchise, but it honestly didn't feel like one. It felt real, authentic & fun. This place was great a few months ago but, this will be the last time I visit your restaurant. Fries were old and stale, unseasoned, medium well burger was raw... also unseasoned. Dropped $200 for 5 people on a meal I would have enjoyed more at Culver's for $50. You guys went downhill real fast. P.S. I went here for the first time with my family for my birthday and it was the best choice. Wait time was about 15 minutes for our party. Our server Lindsey was new but they were absolutely amazing! We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an aappetizer and they were very tasty with the Gochujang sauce. It was crispy without being burnt. For my entree I have the Korean cheesesteak. The meat was sauced perfectly and the pairing with the green onions and kimchi brought it together nicely. I upgraded to truffle parmesan fries. We ordered fish and chips, mix n match tacos, chicken and pancakes and everyone seemed to enjoy what they ate. They also do a little something special for your bday. Parking is not big enough so you have to get lucky. If you're big on beer this is the place ro go to try lots of different options. We had sliders (there were 4 of them and with fries, very juicy this time), chicken nachos (huge and had lots of flavor and crunch, needed more sour cream and guacamole), calamari (this was not good, lots of small pieces and dry) and of course my favorite, the truffled mushroom pizza (this was really tasty and you can smell and taste the truffle)! I went to Yard House in Vernon Hills with two friends on a Saturday right when they opened at 11AM. We were greeted right away and seated at a roomy booth. My first impression of this place is that it's huge with a large bar and a lot of tap beer! Our waitress, Debbie, was extremely friendly and personable, we all really liked her. She showed us the electronic menu on the table, which had photos of all the food items on the menu- super helpful! We order the Spicy Tuna Stack and garlic noodles to start, both were delicious. We also ordered the brussels sprouts, which we didn't like at all. We sent them back because they were oily, over sauced, and didn't taste good. For entrees we order the steak bowl, sliders, and Cobb salad with chicken. All were good! Only complaints are that I requested no bacon in my salad but it had bacon anyway, and we requested sweet potato fries with the sliders but received regular. The waitress took care of the fries right away and they did offer to adjust the salad but I kept it and just scooped the bacon out. I have heard good things about this restaurant and they just opened up a location in Vernon Hills. Parking is ample and the restaurant is plain, modern and clean. Rocky the bartender was very friendly and she made the best lavender lemon drop martini I have ever had! The 20 oz ribeye with added grilled shrimp on a skewer was tasty with delicious mashed potatoes and grilled baby broccoli is plenty for 2 people. When I found out that Yard House was coming to Vernon Hills, I was ecstatic. I used to frequent the Yard House in The Glen back when I worked in the area but had not been there in a few years. The regular prices for entrees are imo a bit steep, but it's more or less commiserate with other similar restaurants in the area. If you happen to make it for Happy Hour though, the prices are relatively a great value. In my most recent visit to the Vernon Hills location, we ended up going in the evening on a Saturday and thus no happy hour. My friend and I tried the seared tuna burger, crispy brussel sprouts, poke nachos, and I had some slider dogs for Oktoberfest. Everything was enjoyable but the stand out for me was the seared tuna burger. It was not something I have had before. Typically anything in fish form and in a burger has always been fried for me. This was my first time trying a fish burger where that wasn't the case...and it was delicious! As you might expect, beers here are solid too. read more

We filled up on apps and had a few drinks, and even though it was a little loud, that's pretty expected for a booming open-bar restaurant. One thing I really appreciated was how helpful our server was with my gluten-free needs. They walked me through the menu, and I was pleasantly surprised by how many GF meal options they had that weren't just salads. We drove by Yard House about two times after it opened and each time it looked like the parking lot was full. On this afternoon, the parking lot was about half full so we decided to take our chances. It was a lovely afternoon and we decided to eat inside instead of outside. We were seated promptly and ordered quickly. We split an order of Brussels sprouts and I picked the beer battered fish tacos. The fish were so crispy and light, not at all heavy or greasy and I decided that next time I would get the fish and chips. BTW the fish tacos were great -- and quite a generous portion -- along with beans and a side of rice. There's quite an extensive menu - so there's something for everyone. I've visited this new-ish Yard House location twice already. It's easily become a great spot for happy hour! The service has been stellar both times. SHOUT OUT TO KEIRRA FOR MY BIRTHDAY DESSERT! The food and drinks have been really good and you can't beat their happy hour specials. It's a great place for sharing - the chicken nachos are gigantic! Had to knock off a star for two reasons: 1) the parking lot fills up FAST. 2) the acoustics aren't great and it's pretty loud in the restaurant. I wouldn't recommend coming here for a quiet meal. The Yard House is a sports bar with a lively atmosphere, huge bar and restaurant offering indoor/outdoor seating and plenty of screens for watching sports. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated, was greeted by a friendly server, placed our order and received it about 40 minutes later. We were told the kitchen staff was new and the server apologized for the delay. Unfortunately, one of our orders was incomplete and the other was incorrect. We were starving so we ate what was served. Then, mistakenly an additional order of tacos was delivered, which was packed up for takeaway. We both ordered tacos, beans and rice, which were pretty tasty. We also tried a specialty cider and a few cocktails which we enjoyed. I'm hoping the Yard House crew just needs a few weeks to get the kinks out, because we would definitely return with friends for a fun night out! They have Happy Hour specials, half off some appetizers and pizza . We had the spinach dip and margherita pizza. The spinach dip was very good, creamy and cheesy. It was served with tortilla chips sprinkled with cheese. The Margherita pizza had halved cherry tomatoes, versus the traditional slices. It added a different twist, but they fell off with each bite. During Happy Hour Beer, Wine and Cocktails are $2 off. I had the Passion Fruit Spritz, it was refreshing but very sweet. Came into the bar alone after a night bartending myself at an upscale restaurant. Was looking forward to a nice drink and meal. Took a bit to be acknowledged but bartender came and made me a delicious martini. I asked for the Caesar salad on the menu (the only one I saw on them menu) and truffle French fries. A very large salad came which turned out to be an entrée salad. I wasn't given a choice as to what size so that was a bit confusing. Cost was higher. Both fries and salad were very delicious. I was never offered any ketchup, and was never offered any water my entire visit. I tried to make eye contact with any bartender, but no one came to check if my food was good or if I needed anything. The three bartenders and the bar back seemed to be more concerned with closing up. (mind you it was not even 10 o'clock.) Bar closes at 12am. After finally waiting for a while I saw a manager, and I asked him for water and to pay for my meal. Paid for the meal and never talked to anyone after that. Not a thank you. Nothing. Amazing as always. Then ordered the pork chop. Again amazing. I don't think in al the years I've been eating at this establishment I've ever had a bad meal. We dined outdoors on a weekday for happy hour and it was a beautiful patio space! My sister and I split 2 appetizers that were half off - the chicken nachos and the sliders. They were huge and such a good deal! The nachos in particular were very impressive and loaded with chicken, cheese, salsa, sour cream, and guac. We could have fed 2 more people with the portion size. We've been to Yard House before but at out of state locations. This was our first visit here in Vernon Hills. We really like Yard House and had a great visit. We arrived on a sunny Friday afternoon around 4:30 and the place was really jammed. Luckily they had a table for us on the patio area but mostly with a roof overhead so the sun did not blind anyone. We had half price appetizers as it was Happy Hour, and got a couple of bucks off of beers. We had Brussel sprout and calamari appetizers before getting a Mergherita pizza.
