They take reservations until 8:30pm on weekdays, so after a very fun and long day of activities in the Bend area, we made an 8:30pm reservation. We were sat at that time. They shut the lights off in the restaurant at 9:20pm. Us and another table took the hint to finish our drinks, get boxes for the remainder of our food and leave. Outrageous. We tried to eat here on a Monday but the wait without a reservation was over an hour so we made a reservation for Friday and oh my god I'm so glad we did. Was excited to try this spot after hearing great things from someone who spent time in Thailand -- but what a letdown. Tried to place a takeout order before close, but they don't take phone orders. Their website? Glitches out when scheduling pickup in advance. I explained this to staff and was met with sarcasm and deflection rather than any effort to help. Everything yes! There's very few Thai places here in the states that stand out. Most joints just repeat their Americanized version of what they think we'll eat...Wild Rose is not that. Every dish is loud, unique and absolutely delicious. The beef skewers, basil noodles, and a the new beef dish called "ling mui...or something like that" were are most favorites. One of my favorite Thai food restaurants, anytime I find myself in the area this is a must have

I was disappointed with Wild Rose Northern Thai Eats. The hotel concierge absolutely raved about how good their Thai dishes were, and, honestly, with the acceptable Yelp ratings (4.2-Stars) we were swayed to give it a try. We ordered online, their app worked well, and our order was ready about 15-minutes earlier than the time listed in the app. (Glad we checked in early, sitting for any length of time never helps the food.) The restaurant was busy busy busy, but the building was neat, and the Staff hurried but friendly. Our order was Thangwa ($14), Pad Woon Sen, with pork, medium spicy, ($20), and Curry Basil Noodles, with pork, medium spicy, ($22). I found all three dishes ... mediocre. There just wasn't anything to recommend them. So, Wild Rose Northern Thai Eats, 2.5-stars, and I can't see myself returning, or trusting that hotel concierge again. read more

A friend and I came in on a rainy afternoon and was greeted and taken to our table with the friendly host. Our female server took our orders promptly and our food came out hot and fast. My friend got the Pad Woon Sen and I got the Curry Basil Noodles. Both were good but my noodles on the curry basil were very undercooked and hard.. but we just picked them out. For dessert, I asked for a coconut milk thai tea and when it came out, I noticed it was chunky. It looked curdled. When I asked the lady server about the chunky milk substitute she started informing me on how coconut milk works... I told her I understood what milk does and asked her to have the bartender shake it or remake it and shake the box of milk before adding it to the drink or to check if the milk had expired.. She straight up told me if she remade it, that it would be "exactly the same way it is now" Now the server is younger so I just said okay. I continued to stir my beverage to incorporate the coconut milk solids into my bev for a good 10 mins so I wasn't drinking chunks.. The other male server on the floor seemed so much nicer. When it came time for the check, our female server with the long blonde braid straight up tossed the check on our table and said here's your check! The food is pretty good here when they prepare it well, but the customer service from our server yesterday was not good at all. read more

My "go to" has always been Kaboka Curry but this was the worst ever. Hardly any veggies, completely missing the grapes which are the main component of sweet and spice and the Kaboka was hard, barely cooked. The beef was very chewy... -pork basil rice: I'm used to it being a little sweet ( hoisin/oyster sauce). It just tasted very salty and barely any basil aroma. It might be that the basil leaves were still kind of fresh looking and the fragrance wasn't sautéed out. Left feeling a little disappointed. The portions were generous, enough for most of my group to have some leftovers. The food came out before my husband came back from washing his hands in the restroom after ordering! We got the popular Khao Soi Curry, with both boiled and crispy noodles, and paid $2 more for the beef brisket. Wow! So full of flavor and a huge bowl we couldn't finish because we also ordered the green curry with chicken. Lemongrass really shines out in this dish, that features eggplant, green beans and some other veggies, along with the protein of your choice. The service is great-attentive and fast! The decor is homey with colorful flowered plastic coated table clothes, like you might see in Chaing Mai. This food is based on family recipes of the owner. I can't even begin to describe the happy and intricate dances that were happening in my mouth as I ate each dish, the food was so impossibly delicious. We ordered the Yellow Curry, Green Curry and PAD WOON SEN with chicken. I think I could eat the Pad Woon Sen every day in my life and never become tired of it. The spice level is on the slightly more spicy side than some restaurants. With Asian food I typically need a 3-4 out of a 5 level spice... here the 3 was perfect. Definitely recommend reservations as they are popular with good reason and busy. Even in the coldest of temperatures they have an outside check in for seating. They clearly did a good job of setting the seating up during Covid restrictions with booths that have plexiglass dividers that are still in place and create really nice cozy seating that doesn't feel overly sanitary but more intimate. We had a nice selection of house specialties that included noodles, fried chicken, seafood, and cocktails. All of the dishes were unique but felt authentic and not "forced". Prices were reasonable and appropriate for the quality. Timing of service and delivery to the table was quick but not questionably so. They specialize in Northern Thai food and the menu is full of very delicious, authentic dishes that represent the cuisine of this region. We came here as one of our last meals while visiting Bend. We ordered way too much for our small table, but everything sounded so interesting! The highlight of the meal was the simplest dish... cucumbers and eggs and garlic. This dish uses a special type of cucumber that gets cooked to a perfect Al dente, a texture that pairs well with the delicate eggs. We also loved the Thai bbq chicken. The marinade was so deep and herbaceous. It was tender and slightly charred, and went really well with the papaya salad. The menu has so much more. They directed us to their online ordering system, which was super easy to use and honestly pretty convenient for the number of people we had. Everyone got Thai iced teas and various dinner combos. I got khao soi and highly recommend it! Especially for the cold weather in Bend. The order was ready relatively quickly for pickup and they packaged everything up for us in a big box.
