    Pad Thai with tofu
    Andrew C.

Bend doesn't exactly have a hopping Asian food scene so we were pretty stoked to find Dang's. It's pretty basic inside, a couple of red vinyl booths and a table or two in a smallish space, but cozy enough. So no on the frills but a pretty big yes on the flavor: our Pad Thai w tofu was a perfect mix of nicely cooked noodles, and tofu that melted in your mouth on a pretty big plate. Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mih was also excellent, flavorful chunks of tender chicken and a nice coleslaw, though bread was a bit less than fresh. Still, a lot of good real-deal flavors, and the guy serving us was genuine, funny and supremely calm even though it looked like was running the joint all by himself.

Our Family loves Dang's! From the cozy interior, kind staff, and delicious food, Dang's provides the perfect environment for any meal. Every time we visit, the staff is attentive and quick with service. The kitchen always brings out two year old special little treats and he loves the extra attention. We love the portion sizes of the pho and even my husband who seems to have 3 stomachs gets filled up of the regular sized bowl! The flavors are rich and soothing especially on a crisp Bend evening. Needless to say Dang's has easily become one of our regular go to's on nights out

Yo man. I love Dangs. Always have and always will. But this picture is a $19 meal without tip. This used to be $12.95 and that was okay (before that $11.95. Before that $8.95). But I can't justify it anymore guys... that's robbery. Also, the fact you can get an upgraded lunch bento from Okawa just across the parking lot for $15 at most is a steal in comparison. I'm not saying it's the same cuisine, it's just the other sit down restaurant in the plaza.

My wife and I had the combination P1 Pho soup and it was delicious. The service was good and waiter was attentive. The interior decor was average.

Nothing special above and beyond insofar as the service but it was not bad either. I would say, they did their job. My granddaughter and I both got the Khao Soi Curry with Chicken. It was fantastic. Hot, creamy and coconutty with just the right level of spice. The portion was extremely generous making for some excellent leftovers. It had crunchy noodles for texture, soft noodles for chew and it was very saucy, with a decent portion of chicken. If I had to find a negative, by itself, the thinly sliced chicken seemed under seasoned and would have been dry had there not been a good amount of sauce. All in all, I highly recommend a visit to others and deemed them worthy of a return visit to try some of their other menu items.

Today had some wins and some small misses. Being a weekday, we were seated quickly with no wait at all. The host, our server, and the food runner were all lovely! As always, the decor was great and the vibe was lively. We ordered our favorite soup, the Tom Kha. It's the best version we've found, and is a must every time. For our main we split one of the featured dishes and were unfortunately underwhelmed. It was very salty and one-note, and it was supposed to be topped with a soft boiled egg. The egg on top was very over cooked, with the grey ring that can form around the yolk. Wild Rose can be excellent, and I recommend visiting if you like Thai food, but I was left wanting after this visit.

We arrived around 230 on a Wednesday and were surprised how many people were coming and going. After our experience, we understand why. We got in the short, quick line and looked over the specials and menu while waiting. I ordered the heirloom salad (but got the macha salsa on the side because I'm wimpy) and the elote corn, both on the " very, very specials" board. Randy ordered the chicken tinga taco and the carnitas taco and an order of chips and salsa. Corina got the beef and broccoli which came with a side of Jasmine rice. Everything was delicious although Randy was missing a couple things: a spicier salsa and thinner chips. I thought they were fine but he is quite particular where chips and salsa are concerned. He enjoyed the tacos, loved that they were street tacos and thought the carnitas were a little more flavorful but both were good. My salad was fresh and flavorful, all the components (minus the spicy macha salsa) made it exactly what I was hoping for. The corn was buttery, creamy, flavorful. The best I've had. It's a whole piece of corn broken in half and slathered with all the goodness with some slaw, cotija and lime on the side. Corina's beef and broccoli was scrumptious. I don't normally enjoy that dish but this one was excellent. The meat was flavorful and not grisly and the broccoli was cooked perfectly, not mushy. It was a huge portion. After eating a piece of the corn, she's got beef broccoli leftovers. Randy also got a raspberry soda which was good, not super sweet, and Corina got the apple mint lemonade which was very good. Everyone was nice and helpful and the music was a good level, plenty of seating. Apparently some outside too. We absolutely are looking forward to going back. PS picture of the wallpaper in the bathroom just because I loved it.

Needs one guy serving drinks and answering questions about the menu, and one person taking orders. The food was Chinese fusion with Mexican influences and we got mala noodles, 1 shrimp taco, and fried chicken. I'm Chinese and my husband is Mexican, so in theory this place would be right up our alley. However the shrimp taco's tortilla was not made fresh which is is the whole point of the taco (the salsa and the tortilla). The chicken was decent but not spectacular. The mala noodle was good on flavor (kudos for keeping the "ma" part intact) and probably the best part of the meal, but the rice noodle needs to be cooked 1-2 minutes less.

Let's just start out with the atmosphere.... This place is just covered in craft store plants and Amazon decorations. No character nothing special. Now I could've gotten past that if the drinks were OK. I didn't have super high hopes, but I was very excited to find a Tiki Bar in Bend while I was traveling for work. So I started out with just a classic Mai Tai after looking over the menu and being pretty disappointed that it's just the most basic "tiki" drinks in existence. The Mai Tai was flat out awful, and I mean AWFUL. It tasted like water mixed with lime juice. No alcohol taste in anyway, and not even a drip of Orgeat taste. It is so bad that it upset me, and it's completely clear like water. I did decide to stay cause I needed a break from the long week of work, but I just went straight to rum straight. I could've overlooked this, if there was even any slight conversation at the bar with the bartenders, but they had no interest in talking to the people that were there, three of the people at the bar were employees, and the entire time was just them talking together about how much they don't like rum or even the drinks on the menu. Wild. Past that they were talking about how they store their juices, and that they don't date label them in any way or throw them out after a certain amount of days, they just come in and taste them to see if they've gone bad. Get the f*** out of here.... A quick Google search will show you that most citrus juices start to oxidize within the hour, and orange and pineapple are not far behind... Don't even come here and give it a try, just go somewhere else.... This place should not be in business.

When we arrived, it was absolutely pouring, with the wind blowing the rain sideways so the tiny overhang in front didn't provide much protection. Classic Milk Tea, 50% Sweet ($7) - The milk tea tastes like it is made from powder, although they do sell black and green tea without creamer, so I'm a little confused. Perhaps those are powder too? The drink is pretty thick with a lot of body and it has a harsher kind of sweetness that is too sweet for me even at half. While I prefer fresh brewed tea, powdered milk tea has come a long way through the years, and this one isn't bad at all. In fact, there's a certain brand of powdered milk tea that I'd drink over a lot of boba shops. The drink comes with boba. It's a little on the firm side, so the bounce and chew are a bit lacking. The pearls are all different sizes and have a softer velvet-like layer on the exterior, indicating some kind of sugar soak. They aren't very sweet compared to the drink, though. Milk Tea Rating: 3.5/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 For being in a small city without much of a boba presence, Boba Tea Bend scratches the itch. It's certainly not stellar, but it does in a pinch.
