Really great place to have coffee and a little something in a peaceful spot for breakfast. In all honesty, it's not one of my favorite places for breakfast. But I love the coffee, the ambiance, and sweet items they have on their menu! My boyfriend really enjoyed his breakfast burrito though! It's so relaxing and beautiful!! My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday during the afternoon on our way to Descanso Gardens. Not only was it insanely crowded with no tables available, but the line was painstakingly long to even place an order. The employees running food outside are trying to squeeze past the line of people trying to order, sometimes grabbing random supplies from a cabinet underneath the customer side of the register. On this particular day, there was a strong stench of sewage, I can't speak to if this is typical or not. We decided to get our food to go as it didn't look like we would be able to get a table and the smell was so overpowering. There is street parking and they have a small parking lot. Nestled in the Glendale mountains, this place has a homey vibe with good outdoor seating. Go for brunch. Used to like this place. No longer. It's a Monday. Restaurant half full. It took 45 minutes to get our food. Hot mocha delivered as a matcha latte. As a correction they bring a mocha, barely warm, that tastes like a hot chocolate. My husband's scrambled eggs were SO overdone they looked ashen. My 3 over medium-well eggs were burnt with punctured egg yolks. After 2 bites I just "couldn't" . . . they remade them into over easy, uncooked eggs which I couldn't eat either. Husband's bacon overcooked, hard, and cold. Waffle had wilted, cottage cheese-looking "whipped cream". I'm still hungry and will have to go home and scrounge a breakfast for myself after we spent over $50, not counting a tip, on this breakfast experience. Not coming back. read more

This place is definitely one of the most hidden gems in Glendale. Their food is pretty good for brunch and lunch and their lattes are definitely something worth getting. I had the avocado toast and tried some of the softshell crab sandwich and a steak and cheese sandwich and all did not disappoint. The downside to this place is definitely finding parking and a table, especially on a busy day. It's quite a wait but not too long until someone gets up and leave. You do have to order first and then grab a table once you get your table number. Definitely a great place to just have nice conversations and enjoy a beautiful day. Truly a hidden gem! The drive there and the view was magical. The location is isolated, it felt so serene and breathtaking. It was an overcast day today with a little bit of rain, so it made it even more breathtaking. I can't wait to come back. The ambiance is beautiful and peaceful. There is parking space on both sides of the restaurant. You order inside and they bring your food out. There is only one large outdoor area with many tables spaced out graciously. The service is great and staff is nice. We got the avocado toast with poached eggs, breakfast burrito with hash brown, and the stuffed toast. We were all pleased with our meals. I had the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. It had the perfect balance of all the ingredients and was wrapped so neatly that I ate it all with not a single crumb produced. Each bite was balanced and oh so very YUM. The salsa on the side was great, but I would ask for more next time because I just love salsa and enjoy my mouth being on fire. We will definitely come back on a cool weekday because it was so nice and quiet, and the weather was perfect. Lovely place for brunch! I came here for a late lunch with my good friend - free parking was a breeze on a Sunday afternoon! Pear Gorgonzola salad was so delish. And my friend was loving the rose water! Best part was the Barbie or Oppenheimer special latte art they have currently! All my friends I sent it to was asking where I got that! Wild Oat Cafe was the highest rated brunch restaurant in the area I happened to be in already. Everything LOOKed good, but that's about it. The restaurant was super cute when MayLene D. and I made the trek through the mountain. There was cute outdoor patio seating. Basically you order and pay inside, and then seat yourself at any open table and they'll bring the food out shortly. MayLene D. had the Steak and Eggs Breakfast Sandwich ($17) and a regular size Rainbow Latte ($8). I decided on an Avocado Toast with Poached Eggs ($15) and being a coffee lover I opted for a large size Rainbow Latte ($9). The downfall to my experience was my attempt to go to the restroom. The person right before me was an employee. When I came in the toilet was not flushed. I kicked the handle down and it was still disgusting... If it was a customer and the scenario was out of the restaurant's hands I would be more understanding, but since it was an employee I hold them fully accountable. I had to spend the rest of my time here with my bladder full since their restroom is overwhelmingly dirty. Their patio roof was also leeky because water dripped on me. What an awful experience so far and it gets worst... The food and coffee arrived and there was a glimmer of hope. Everything looked decent. However the coffee is only good for its' aesthetics. Both MayLene D. and I did not like the coffee. It was so bland. I basically paid $9 for a picture and an inedible cup of *coffee*. The food was just as disappointing. MayLene D. described her food like that cheapie $1 McDonalds taste. My avocado toast that is above in pricing than my typical avocado toast has MUSHY avocado. It was really missing some protein like bacon or something. It was very BLAND too. Do these people run out of salt and seasoning on our visit. We paid a lot of money for a terrible meal that we left mostly unfinished. Considering what a hassle it was to get here and no positive feelings from my personal experience, I do NOT recommend this spot. Finally made it out to Wild Oak Cafe. I have always wondered where this was since I have not driven in this part of Glendale and it was a solid 20 min drive from Glendale so be ready for a local adventure . To start I will say that you must order and they will assign you a seat since the tables are numbered. They don't allow you to sit until you order your food. Trust the system it really works. Cappuccino and Lattes look great and taste good if you like the large cup with a ton of milk. I'm more of a 1 to 1 ratio on my espresso and milk. We got that with the homemade chips (incredible) and then added on a side of garlic fries, because why not! Who says no to garlic fries?
