A nice little cafe. I came in for a quick breakfast, and ordered the Eggs Benedict, with the sauce on the side. The poached eggs were ok and the hollandaise sauce was very mild, with a little tang to it. The bacon was thinly sliced, but doubled up. Overall, it was fine. I also ordered a coffee. I never got a refill or a check-in. I was the only person in the dining room, and there was just one table outside. Nonetheless, It wasn't the worst service I've ever received and I don't feel that I was ignored, maybe just overlooked. I'm really disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The customer service was terrible -- no one checked on us even once to ask how the food was or if anything was wrong. The food itself was just as bad. The latte was completely watered down, the country potatoes were dry and had no seasoning at all, and the steak had a strange vinegar taste that made it very unpleasant to eat. I gave this place a second chance hoping things would improve, but unfortunately, it was the exact same experience. Poor service and terrible food both times. Overall, a very good café experience. The service was excellent and easily the best part. The gentleman who helped us was very kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome, so thank you to him. It wasn't dirty by any means, but the silverware could be washed and dried better, and some of the plates and bowls are old and chipped and could use replacing. This place has a very local neighborhood diner vibe with some nice outside seating (but it's very limited). We got the ranchero breakfast burrito and crabmeat omelette. Both were fantastic! Super big portions, beautiful presentation, and tasty ingredients. No ingredients were lacking which was amazing because usually restaurants will skimp on meat or avocado. When we entered, a staff member walked past without acknowledging us but eventually someone sat us a minute later. And my omelette was supposed to come with toast but it never came. We also ordered a chai latte and iced coffee which were kind of bland and watery but the food is so good that we overlooked these other minor things. That's how you know V Boulevard is a solid spot Came by for Sunday brunch with a friend and we enjoyed sitting outside in one of their three patio tables. They still use paper menus which is a nice break from QR codes. They serve breakfast and lunch items, and we love that they also have hot and cold drinks. I had the matcha blueberry pancakes and my friend for their corn flakes french toast. What's great and so rare these days is that the entrees come with sides...it's not everything is a la carte. You can get eggs and protein with your sweet items, so it's nice if you're the kind of diner who likes to have a little bit of savory and sweet. They're extremely dog friendly, and the owner and our wonderful server came by so many times to pet my dog and brought her a water bowl. Just fyi the outdoor seating is mainly in the shade, so bring your layers if you're dining here during winter. There's street parking (free for 2hours) if you're lucky to find it, but honestly there was so little traffic that morning that pretty much everybody found parking easily. Will definitely recommend dining here if you're looking for your local no-frills brunch diner. Everything is made perfectly portion'd and you walk out feeling full and loved. Truly a perfect hidden gem that almost feels like a warm & cozy home with it's intimate atmosphere. As a wannabe Francophile, I especially appreciate that you can dine right outside the restaurant under umbrellas & "people watch". A friend visiting from out-of-town (randomly) chose this spot for yesterday's brunch. The salmon benedict that I ordered was quite simply one of the best that I had (not overcooked, generous portion). Not to mention that they poach their eggs (without vinegar, mind you) quite perfectly. But what makes this place truly special & 5 Stars is the staff. Huge, huge shout-out to Nelli (our server) & Gor (our host). They seriously made this visit very memorable with their warm personalities. I especially love how Nelli took time to engage with my guest - not simply bringing our food, but forging a genuine connection with someone who is from out-of-town. We got onto yelp and this place popped up. Had never heard of it as we live in the La Crescenta/Montrose area. It was a little loud when we first got there and unremarkable in terms of decor/ambience, but man, were we in for a surprise. I was feeling breakfast so I decided to order the French toast with eggs and bacon and my wife ordered some kind of eggs Florentine or something. The food came out so good that my wife and I were talking about it the whole meal. I mean, I can't wait to go back to this place and try something else. Also, the service was perfect. Didn't catch the name of the young gal who served us, but she was super sweet and attentive. I left there super full and satisfied. I only order to-go breakfast here, but me and my girlfriend love this place! She loves the blueberry pancakes, and the breakfast burrito is what I usually get and it's delicious. Went to get a to-go order on Mother's Day forgetting how busy it would be, ordered my usual, and saw the scrambled eggs were a little overdone (it's an extremely busy day, understandable that some orders may not be up to their usual standard.) I went and offered to buy a new side, I was going to eat the overcooked ones and have a new side of eggs for my gf. Instead of making me buy a new side and wait 20 minutes, the man that works in the front with the beard (I'm sorry I haven't gotten his name) went to the kitchen and made me the eggs himself, came out and gave them to me with a genuine smile on his face. The entire restaurant was full, but he took the time to do this for me. The woman who works there often is extremely nice, and that day there was another man in a nicer shirt who I assumed was the owner, and another girl in the front who I've never seen before, but they were both very nice and welcoming as well. Found another gem. We went to our usual spot in the area, but had to leave because the wait was extremely long. We are not from the area, so we didn't know about other cafes. Luckily, our navigation app took us through this street and the rest is history. Lol Thank you to the amazing staff for making us feel like regulars. I like the cafe so much, we will have to make it our new favorite place. We tried a breakfast croissant with a side of house potatoes. We also tried the ranchero breakfast burrito, which was absolutely delicious. And just for fun, we tried their peanut butter pancakes. Can't say how delicious everything was.
