    Poached Egg
    Eric H.

A nice little cafe. I came in for a quick breakfast, and ordered the Eggs Benedict, with the sauce on the side. The poached eggs were ok and the hollandaise sauce was very mild, with a little tang to it. The bacon was thinly sliced, but doubled up. Overall, it was fine. I also ordered a coffee. I never got a refill or a check-in. I was the only person in the dining room, and there was just one table outside. Nonetheless, It wasn't the worst service I've ever received and I don't feel that I was ignored, maybe just overlooked. Regardless, there are some other good looking dishes on the menu, so I might be back again for lunch.

It's been a while but came back here after a while - now I live in the Valley and this was an option after taking our daughter to the LA Zoo. I like that this place is not crazy busy and has outdoor seating. We enjoyed the coffee and food. Overall a cool spot!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday morning and was pleasantly surprised. I came in with a friend and my small dog, and we were all received warmly by the owner, Arthur. We ordered vegan menu items, as well as lox and bagels - both dishes were tasty and fresh. The seasoned fries are yuuummm. Cafe is clean, street parking is ample. The bathrooms are clean. This is a great place to visit with the family or with friends for all dietary needs. Recommend A+

The best breakfast spot! We've been coming here for years and the food has never disappointed. The service is always fast and friendly. The vibe is casual and very relaxed. The coffee actually tastes like coffee, if ykyk.

HIDDEN GEM IN THE SFV V Boulevard Cafe is a cozy and quaint cafe that's perfect for breakfast or lunch every day of the week!! They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. With the nice weather, it's nice to enjoy seating outside. I can see that it's a neighborhood favorite spot!! Wonderful customer service from Gor! I tried a latte, Pastrami Sandwich and Albacore Tuna Salad. The Albacore Tuna Salad was simply dee-licious!! Just the way I like it!! The Pastrami sandwich had thinly sliced pastrami, pickles and mustard on rye bread. A balance of flavors...rich, savory, smoked and salty with a little spice. I would definitely order this again!! Tip: $5 off any food/drink item when you say the phrase "Art Special" at checkout.

It was a nice stop while driving through the area. I had the oatmeal but got to sample my family's dishes as well. I thought the huevos rancheros with the tangy green sauce and side of crispy hash browns were the best. No complaints about the eggs Benedict either. I noticed they had a couple dishes that didn't include gluten and at least one vegan dish on the menu. The service was friendly and fast and we were on our way in no time.

Ordered food delivery from here once and it was delicious so my boyfriend and I wanted to check it out in person! This place has a very local neighborhood diner vibe with some nice outside seating (but it's very limited). We got the ranchero breakfast burrito and crabmeat omelette. Both were fantastic! Super big portions, beautiful presentation, and tasty ingredients. No ingredients were lacking which was amazing because usually restaurants will skimp on meat or avocado. When we entered, a staff member walked past without acknowledging us but eventually someone sat us a minute later. And my omelette was supposed to come with toast but it never came. We also ordered a chai latte and iced coffee which were kind of bland and watery but the food is so good that we overlooked these other minor things. They also have a small parking lot in the back but there's also plenty of good street parking if it's full.

A solid 3.5 star restaurant. Came here with the family before visiting the LA zoo. We ordered the cobb salad with tuna, crab omelet and buttermilk pancakes. Imitation crab was used in the omelet, which was disappointing especially given the high price point of the omelet. My husband and kids seemed to enjoy their meals. Service, while polite, was extremely slow (only one waitstaff during lunchtime).

We stopped by V Boulevard Cafe in Glendale for brunch and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the build-your-own omelette and chicken pesto panini. For BYO omelette, I got sausage, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese--it was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of each ingredient. The chicken pesto panini was flavorful and had a great balance of tender chicken and fresh pesto. I paired it with an iced coffee, which was refreshing and strong. The service was great. We were seated right away. The cafe itself has a cozy vibe, and I loved the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. Plus, the free parking is a huge plus. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Go get you a brunch spot in Glendale that 1) is dog friendly 2) has a strong family-run feel 3) doesn't break the bank 4) has friendly regulars. That's how you know V Boulevard is a solid spot Came by for Sunday brunch with a friend and we enjoyed sitting outside in one of their three patio tables. They still use paper menus which is a nice break from QR codes. They serve breakfast and lunch items, and we love that they also have hot and cold drinks. I had the matcha blueberry pancakes and my friend for their corn flakes french toast. What's great and so rare these days is that the entrees come with sides...it's not everything is a la carte. You can get eggs and protein with your sweet items, so it's nice if you're the kind of diner who likes to have a little bit of savory and sweet. They're extremely dog friendly, and the owner and our wonderful server came by so many times to pet my dog and brought her a water bowl. Just fyi the outdoor seating is mainly in the shade, so bring your layers if you're dining here during winter. There's street parking (free for 2hours) if you're lucky to find it, but honestly there was so little traffic that morning that pretty much everybody found parking easily. Will definitely recommend dining here if you're looking for your local no-frills brunch diner. Everything is made perfectly portion'd and you walk out feeling full and loved. Pricing is super fair given that this is L.A., and the food items are so hearty and without the glittery cloud of instagram and social media-influenced glitz. Authentic and homey.

Lovely, old fashioned diner with exposed brick walls, distressed furniture and a mix of old and new American decor. Very comfortable and homey. The best part was the food though. The chef doesn't know it's a diner apparently. I had a lovely chicken piccata that was superb! The only thing I didn't do was lick the plate clean, it was so good. Fare you'd expect from a nice Italian bistro. They have a devil's den full of desserts they make, too. I had a banana cream pie that was ridiculously good, along with an excellent coffee. They have a full coffee bar as well as the dessert bar. Service was terrific and the pricing was moderate for the quality. If you go during the breakfast/brunch rush on the weekends, def take a few deep breaths as there can be a wait. Often, the patio fills up quite quickly. But sometimes it's just the luck of arriving at the perfect moment. As far as the entrees are concerned, I particularly like the Chile Stuffed Skillet when I'm craving a savory breakfast meal. It's made with a pasilla pepper stuffed with bacon, cheddar, and a poached egg. It's baked it in an iron skillet on top of potatoes, and it's topped off with ranchera sauce and sour cream. And let me tell ya, those house-made biscuits are amazing. Warm, crumbly, and melt in your mouth like a good biscuit should. The house-made jams are also a nice treat and feel like having a sample of grandma's (or mom's) kitchen. On of my visits, a friend ordered the Banana Bread French Toast, and it made me wish I had two stomachs so that I could eat that as well. But like a good friend, she noticed that I was eyeing her breakfast like a puppy dog begging from scraps. So she was gracious enough to split some and do a trade with one of my biscuits. I think the trade was quite fair. Next time, we agreed to go halfsies on the Corn Flake Crusted French Toast because they're really exceptional, and the Morning Quiche (which is only served on the weekends).

Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café…read more Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café reminded me that we live for the wonderful experiences that remain to be discovered. After a wonderful lunch date with my wife at Raffi's Place (please read my review and thank me later) in Glendale, I decided to look for the perfect dessert. After scouting several nearby locations, I decided I was in the mood for a great cinnamon roll. Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café looked like the place that would deliver the experience I was seeking. SDLBC is listed as being in Glendale, but it's located in the historic Old Town of Montrose. That's beside the point; I only mention it because there are additional places to explore just up the street. We arrived around 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday, and there wasn't much of a selection left, including the highly sought-after cinnamon roll. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us warmly, and I immediately asked if that was all the pastries they had. He said yes. I contemplated leaving because of the nonexistent cinnamon roll, but I didn't want to be rude, so I decided to give the bakery a try since we were already there. So, we basically took half of what remained behind the glass display case: a Peach Almond Croissant, a Raspberry Pistachio Croissant, an Almond Croissant, and then my curiosity focused on a few lonely-looking pastries that were unfamiliar to my discerning eyes. I asked the gentleman what they were, and he replied with something that sounded completely foreign to me: Kouign-Amann. Kouign-Amann (pronounced queen ah-MAHN) is a traditional pastry from the region of Brittany, France. It is often considered one of the richest pastries in the world because it is made with just a few simple ingredients in generous proportions: bread dough, butter, and sugar. Figuring we needed a few more sweets for the road, we took all the remaining Kouign-Amanns. Two were the traditional version, and the other two were filled with crème and blueberry jam. We also ordered a Café Americano and a Café Mocha. While we waited for our drinks, I simply couldn't wait any longer. Like a kid on Christmas morning, I eagerly opened my gift and dug right into the Kouign-Amann. Hesitantly, I tore off a tiny piece with my fingers, expecting nothing extraordinary, and instantly gave birth to a brand-new experience that exploded in my mouth. The crisp exterior gave way to the soft, flaky center, followed by waves of what tasted like delicate honey. I tore off another piece and shared it with my wife. One look at her eyes told me she wanted more. By the time our drinks were ready, we had devoured one of the Kouign-Amanns and confessed to the gentleman behind the counter that we had just experienced pure ecstasy in the form of a pastry. Kouign-Amann is, in fact, one of the richest pastries in the world, so don't let the unfamiliar name keep you from trying one. The Café Americano and the Café Mocha were also exceptionally well prepared. With everything that's happening in the world these days, a simple yet profound experience like this reminded me how wonderful life can still be. Like Arnold said... "I'll be back." Enjoy!

Walking inside, the restaurant had a beautiful hacienda-style atmosphere with comfortable seating. We arrived right when they opened, so it wasn't busy. The dining room was very clean, and the restrooms were spotless as well. I ordered the combo plate with two items: a chile relleno and a shredded beef enchilada with red sauce, served with rice and beans. The chile relleno was perfection! I loved that it was fluffy, not greasy, and incredibly flavorful. As for the enchilada, I really enjoyed the shredded beef. The red sauce wasn't very spicy, which I prefer. I love a flavorful enchilada sauce without too much heat. Some restaurants make their sauce overly spicy, but this one was just perfect. The rice and beans were also excellent. The rice was soft and fluffy, not dry or hard, and the beans were well-seasoned without being overly salty like they are at many other restaurants. I truly enjoyed every bite of my meal. My best friend ordered the combination plate with one item: a shrimp enchilada with green sauce, served with rice and beans. She absolutely loved her meal and already wants to come back. We also enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa, and we heard they make great margaritas too. My mother ordered the large bowl of menudo, which came with lime, onions, and cilantro. She said it was delicious and not overly salty. She also swears they have the best Taco Tuesday specials, and they're available all day. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. I will definitely be coming back and bringing the rest of my family to try this place. Highly recommended!
