OMG. I can't believe I was able to eat a vegetarian vietnamese vermicelli noodle bowl. Not only was everything we ordered here delicious, it was a nice, clean environment. Everything was so pretty, we ate during the day, so it was bright and well lit. The staff was really friendly too, our server offered really great suggestions. I decided on the "Bun Chay" aka Wicked Vegetarian Noodle. It was refreshing, clean, flavorful and so satisfying. There were plant based 'meats' in the dish, taste/texture was on point, it was actually satisfying, I got so full I couldn't finish the end of my bowl. I am definitely coming back again, in fact, maybe next week. I've been craving a vermicelli bowl! My husband got a bowl of the Rare Steak Pho Noodle, he really liked the broth, noodles and meat, there just wasn't enough meat in the dish in comparison to what he gets at other pho places. I was visiting my mom's work and noticed that there's a new restaurant on MLK, the place looks very upgraded and I was craving Vietnamese food so I went in. I guess Wicked Chopstix specialize in Northern style Vietnamese food which was a nice change from most typical Vietnamese places here in Seattle. Everybody seem to order the Bun Cha Obama (which is Bun Cha Ha Noi) so that's what we ordered too. It came in this giant cool straw plate with bamboo leaves, I'm just a fan of food that puts effort on presentation for a better experience. The dish came with vermicelli noodles, fresh veggies, meatloaf, grilled meat in fish sauce, and eggroll that are made with real crab. I also ordered the nem nuong (pork) rolls and was very pleased that there were shredded mangos in the rolls because I usually don't see that in spring rolls. Both dishes were delicious and what I love about Vietnamese food is that it feels really light so that was perfect for lunch. Décor was pretty modern, service was attentive, and they have their own parking lot. It might be easier coming in from one side of the street than the other as it's on busy MLK being split by the light rail so U-turns might be a little inconvenient to get to the right side of the street where this is located, but it's not difficult. The man behind the counter was very nice, and the girl that showed up after him was also very nice, and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The atmosphere felt on the hip and classy side, with metal chopsticks and beautifully arranged plates. Which sets it apart from the rest of the neighborhood restaurants. It was very clean when we were there. The food itself was quite good. We got the fried tofu bowl, some egg rolls, and one of their dessert drinks. Admittedly, I ordered too much fried food, as I was trying to be meat free that day, so I left feeling a little under the weather after so much grease. I had high hopes about this place. The Stranger and Seattle Times both had written good reviews. I became a bit worried when the Seattle Health Dept. gave it an ok and cited infractions in the past. But we wanted pho and we were close by so we decided to try it. We were told to go sit at a table that had liquid spilled on the table. My husband wiped it off but it was still sticky. I asked the waitress to wipe it off and she said?it was the table finish and refused. Right then, I decided to play it safe and not try any of the more talked about menu items. We live near Othello Station and have tried over a dozen pho places since moving in the neighborhood. Wicked Chopstix has been hands down the best pho we have had thus far. They also stay open past 7 or 8pm, which is the closing time for most of the restaurants around Othello Station. read more

The staff usually keeps to themselves after taking our order and servicing the food. Occasional water refills. The milk tea and drinks are off, both in taste and service. From the time I just ordered drinks they were short staffed and it took pretty long for two regular milk teas. I'm not sure if I'd come back for the tea, but the pho, sign me up. Are they out of business or trying to run out of business? We had a craving for pho this past weekend and saw wicked chopstix was nearby. We were moving so we wanted to do pick up or delivery so I called the restaurant and ended up getting a busy time. Ok no problem. Hung up and tried again in 30 minutes. Still busy. After several attempts I hung up and even double checked the number to make sure I had it right. Their website gave me a 404 error message. Right as I was about to give up I saw they were on Door Dash offering free delivery. Hooray! I thought and placed the order and paid. Third time's the charm I thought. Nope! Unfortunately the twist is simply that they charge $5.00 more for everything you can get at hundreds of other Pho places. $28.00 for two lunches that weren't even a tasty deviation from any other Asian based restaurant. Oh sure let's call it Obama Noodles and that'll make swallowing the price easier. Lipstick on a pig folks. I'm sorry but shiny new stools and tables does not a great restaurant make my friend. You know you're in a good place when there is a table with someone preparing lychee nuts. The clean setup of grey and white everything and airy seating was inviting. We had the two vegetarian noodle dishes: the wicked and the stir fry. The wicked featured these potato egg rolls ((ZOMG)) and plenty of tofu. I was excited and looking forward to try the Oxtail Pho...sad to say it was a major disappointment for me. Their menu is pretty small...I didn't mind that at all. They stress quality over quantity, which is fine. However, it's not good when both the quality and quantity leave much to be desired. I ordered the "large" Oxtail Pho. It literally came with only 3 small pieces of Oxtail with barely any meat on them. The amount of noodles was probably enough for a small size Pho anywhere else. They charge $14 for this "large" bowl of Oxtail Pho. I can only imagine how little ingredients are in the small and medium sized bowls. When I finished there was still a large amount of broth left. So maybe "large" meant a ton of broth and not much else. Needless to say, I left hungry (more like hangry) and wanting more, but not at this overpriced place that skimps on their ingredients. I understand you guys stress quality over quantity but the taste of the Oxtail Pho was just "meh." It didn't blow my mind. Definitely not worth $14. The only redeeming quality this place has is the cleanliness. I can see the location has potential. But PLEASE don't be afraid to give your customers food to eat. Do not skimp on your ingredients and then grossly overcharge. This place is only about a month old and they will not last if they continue skimping. Everyone wants quality AND value. Came here to try a fresh new Vietnamese spot on Rainer ave. was slightly after the lunch hour so not too busy, friendly staff greeted us immediately. Ambiance was clean, contemporary, and somewhat upscale. Menu was atypical of a Vietnamese spot in Rainer valley but still has some of the usual dishes with some more authentic selections. I ordered the pho and it had tasty broth not super salty, nice lean tender slices of rare tenderloin beef, and noodles which were nearly perfectly cooked. One of the most underrated pho restaurants in south seattle! Let's start off with the chicken wings, they're very juicy and crispy. A little sweet with a balance of savory and that taste of lemon really hit the spot. When you bite into it, you instantly get the taste of lemon and a little bit of sweetness so I highly recommend ordering Lemon glazed chicken wings. Decided to order myself Bo Ne (not a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in Seattle serve Bo Ne so I was super excited) and everything was delicious. Remember to ask for a side of broth to dip and eat Bo Ne, the steak pieces were tender and not chewy at all while it's serve to me on a hot iron plate. Our food was serve quickly so the wait wasn't long, which is skeptical because sometimes food that's serve quickly means to me that the cooks didn't take their time cooking the food or was thrown in the microwave. But, our food was serve fresh and nowhere near cold. Service here is really good and I've never had a bad experience with it at all. I've been to wicked chopstix in the past and they serve really good pho too so I highly recommend trying their pho (you know it's good pho when you don't need to add hoisin sauce and Sriracha because the broth is amazing but you add it anyway haha). The south end has better options when it comes to Vietnamese eats. The pho was okay with barely any fixings and spring rolls were full of fresh veggies they was aight. Saw the grand opening and thought I would check it out. This place has replaced several other restaurants I used to eat at. This has been a location where restaurants come and go and doesn't look promising for this new spot. I got the veal pho medium and all I got was big bowl with lots of soup and barely any noodles. I got maybe 7 pieces of veal so that was ok. The flavor was heavy on the anise side. One thing I did like was the broth was very hot and stayed hot. Also got the bo ne (baguette with eggs and steak). It was also ok. For $15 I was expecting a lot more in terms of portion. Steak bites were over cooked. Could of made this at home for less than $5. A place couple blocks down the street only charges $10 and is a larger portion. Clean, modern, open kitchen, no napkin dispenser. My friend & I eat here once or twice a week because it's close to our job & we loved this spot. The Pho is good, however, after our experience yesterday we won't be returning. First of all, when we walked up to the counter to pay it STUNK so bad I threw up immediately! It literally smelled like an aquarium mixed with sewer, absolutely disgusting and it brought my lunch right back up. Sick! This man in front of uswas trying to pay, didn't have cash and their internet was shut off so he was unable to pay with card. He told the cashier he'll go to the ATM and come right back. The cashier said okay and let him go... Then I go up and let him know I don't have any cash on me. He said it was $11 I said okay well I don't have any cash at all. He swiped my card a couple of times then kept showing me it doesn't work, I asked okay well I have to get back to work so how can we resolve this? He said his manager will be here in 15-20 minutes can I please wait. I said no I cannot wait I need to go. He had me enter my card info manually, it still didn't go and I pointed out to him that it says there is no internet connection available. At this point my friend is pissed & asked where ATM is. The cashier said down the street down MLK... Okay where exactly?? We said okay we'll go get cash & come right back. So we walk out and are walking up the street, then this fool is running out of the restaurant yelling at us to stop... WTF! He said he needs to hold my purse or something so he knows we will come right back. My friend went off on him & told him hell no we shouldn't even have to walk to the gas station bc they can't figure their internet out. They should have told us they aren't accepting cards at his time AND reminded him that he let the man before us go with no problem. So now you want to run after us, yelling at us to stop and try to cause a scene! I told him my car is in his damn parking lot and we'll come right back. Again we come here once or twice a week they know us..... We were so livid! We come back and I let him know we felt very disrespected by what he had done and it wasn't okay for him to let that man leave and chase us yelling at us how freaking embarrassing first off. Came here with a group of 5 on a Sunday night. Service was good. Most of us ordered the pho and my husband ordered the Obama noodle. He wasn't too impressed and didn't think it was worth it. We only got a lettuce and a half? I tried a little bit of his and thought the flavor was good. He had some of my rare steak pho and said that was better. I was so happy when knowing that there is a store selling Vietnamese Northern style food and Vietnamese street food. We came on Sunday afternoon, the place wasn't packed but there were several tables dining, we got to seat wherever we want. I ordered bun cha Obama, dodging beefsteak w baguette and mango sticky rice. I have tried so many places before but i think for me this is the best place where i can eat bun cha. However the mango sticky rice was nothing special, the mango looked old and tasted not good compared to the other place, but other than that, the other 2 dishes was good, service was nice but it just took a little it long to get our food but overall everything was great. read more

Delicious. I had the weekly special, hu tieu mi nuoc, and it was near perfect. I didn't want to add any sauces or extra spices because the broth was already so good. Like, drinkable-to-the-last-drop good. The "near perfect" is mostly because I wanted the noodles to be egg noodles and didn't notice that they used pho noodles. Still tasty, but now I want that broth with egg noodles. My husband had the pho which also had a fantastic broth. I'm definitely coming back to try out the rest of the menu. I got hungry until I saw this vietnamese restaurant. I just realized they change the restaurant completely including the name. The inside of the restaruant looked very modern and edgy. On their menu, their food are mostly from northern Vietnam dishes such as bun cha, pho vs, etc. I ordered cha ca la vong which it's hard for me to look for that dish from other viet restaurants in Seattle. They provide me with vermicelli noodles & veggies and shrimp sauce. Since I couldn't have shrimp sauce because I'm allergic to shrimp, I switched to fish sauce instead. The waiter brung out cha ca la vong that is already cooked for me (no additional heat required) and I could tell it's already delicious by smelling it. I had this dish since I went to Hanoi, Vietnam for vacation recently so I wanted to eat it here at Seattle. The fish was very tender and soft that it's flavorful with dill. Eating with dill and noodles was very delicious and taste fresh and especially with fish sauce. This is the best Vietnamese food in the city! The recipes are well executed, authentic and flavorful. People say it's a little pricey than most other places but it's because they take their time to make things right and use good ingredients. I've been coming here for almost a year and even with a new owner change the dishes are consistent and GREAT! My favorite is the beef stew, or Bo Kho. Braised beef in an intoxicating and slow-cooked, rich broth with carrots, cilantro. Get this with a big roll to soak up all the juices or with noodles, you get to choose. A friend of mine recommended to try out this new joint for lunch. Wicked Chopstix is a new and trendy place. Its theme is Vietnamese street food. They have a private lot for parking, but can get full quickly since there are not too many spots. The restaurant is spacious and pretty clean. The servers are pleasant and come back to check on you often, and the kitchen is mostly open, so you can see and smell all the food being made. Although it's not an appetizer, we ordered the Obama noodles, which is basically a vermicelli bowl. The presentation was pretty and the food itself was tasty. I had the special pho, and they were generous with the meat. The broth was not bad, and the herbs and vegetables were fresh. The price for pho was normal. $10 for a medium. I also ordered a coke zero, and it was $3.00 for a can. Whoa buddy... I can get a whole case for $3. I feel like some of the dishes are pretty pricey and some are moderate.
