I've passed by this coffee shop a few times, and I've super curious as to what they offer. I stopped by not too long ago and the decor is so minimalist but in a good way. The layout is open and airy, the decor is simple but cool. I decided to get the cold brew, and it's probably one of the best I've had so far. The service was amazing as well, they were super friendly and helpful. They have a really interesting menu, and I can't wait to stop by and try some of their items. From açaí bowls to sandwiches and pastries. I hope they also introduce gluten free baked goods later on. But otherwise, a great coffee shop! read more

Judging by the steady stream of people into this cafe I think it's safe to say this is a neighborhood gem? I didn't try the coffee and instead went for a white tea to go along with my Egg Sandwich w/ Proscuitto. I was blown away by how good the sandwich was. One of my favorite coffee shops in the neighborhood. If you're serious about your cold brew come to White Noise. I've sampled cold brews from far and wide (and there's a lot of sampling to be had in this part of Brooklyn) and White Noise's is the best. Try the Kyoto cold brew! I also love a good old latte and White Noise does not disappoint. They offer simple but delicious food and most importantly these days, they take COVID very seriously. As a transplant from SF to the neighborhood around this coffee shop, I was thrilled when I yelp searched "matcha latte" and this place popped up so close to my new place. I hate that I am that person, but I need a good oat milk matcha latte to get me going in the mid afternoon. The first time I made the mistake of assuming it would come unsweetened, and the first sip I gawked at how sweet it was. I thought the space was really cool and I liked the chill vibes that I noted it as a good place to go to if I wanted to work from home one day. I returned a couple days later and this time tried again with ordering a matcha latte, and asked if it could be made unsweetened. The barista mentioned that it was no problem! Apparently, they make it by adding 10g of sugar but that can be omitted. Phew! Thought it was the matcha or the oat milk they were using. So now this place is definitely going to be my go to for the matcha lattes. They also have really good egg sandos that are pricey, but oh so filling. Ngl (not gonna lie) - I was not a fan the first time I came here. The latte wasn't that amazing and I just thought it was another regular instagrammable cafe. But I decided to give it a second chance and tried the Iced Matcha Latte. Um, I personally love Cha Cha Matcha but I would say this is on par or better than Cha Cha. Aesthetics are definitely on point and it's a really nice little corner cafe to work in. I eventually would like to come back here to try their food items because it seems so yummy (on photos). Nice coffee place! I had the cold brew and it tasted great. The servers here are also very nice and the location is super clean! A lot of people are complaining about the lack of WiFi here but I don't think that should be a requirement for coffee shops. This space is huge, the WiFi is great, friendly service and I'd easily recommend this spot to meet a friend or do hw, but (and this is a BIG BUT), the coffee and food fall short and the prices a big notch above the other coffee spots in the area. I've been here on two occasion, perhaps too much optimism for wanting to like this place. The first time I got items to go and had an almond milk cappuccino and mini chai bundt cake. The cappuccino was okay and the cake dry and frankly bad, but what really blew my mind was the price tag. I paid $5 for that dry cake? $5 for that slightly burnt cappuccino. Yikes. I came here to do some work and just got a coffee and a croissant (which was just bread). Not offensive but not particularly impressed in anyway. As big as the space is, it still feels like it has yet to be put together. There's small piles of boxes in the front and a feeling of excessive sterile-ness all around. Let me start off with a disclaimer: I am not a coffee aficionado but even I could tell the coffee here at White Noise is high quality. There is plenty of seating (communal or individual tables) and outlets available in this bright, minimalist space. The tiles and bright lights kind of remind of me of The Ordinary showrooms. There are two Kyoto-style coffee towers along the wall, beautiful, mysterious glass contraptions that look like they belong in a chem lab. The regular cold brew is great, and so is the Kyoto-style cold brew. Both are equally potent, but the latter tastes smoother and less acidic. read more

I was weary of a shop in the Hilton building called "White Noise" being remotely good. Because, let's be honest, that name is way too cool for me. But! But. The first morning after the papers came down. I gotta say. I was impressed. The space is large, beautiful, and I LOVE THE FREAKING BONSAI IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TABLE! I got excited, and...I never got his name but he was so sweet, one of the guys invited us in to talk about the shop. How it was going to soft open in the weekend; favorite coffee flavor profiles; how they have parlor, but that may change; about the beautiful Kyoto cold brew drip...it was just a nice, genuine conversation, and lovely gesture to invite curious neighbors in while they were so rudely spying on what you darn kids were up to :) I all but forced Lily to skip her morning coffee and trek all the way to this neck of the woods to try a new place (Parlor is her favorite, by the by). The employees were all very nice and they sell some really awesome apparel (I'm proud to be rocking one of their sweet ass sweaters). They do Parlor justice here, my iced latte was great. We saw couple taking pictures of the table and latte, so yes it's kind of an instagrammable place but thank god it's not that extreme and they still care about the quality of what they're selling. And...obviously I have to compare it to Devocion because it's in the hood. But they are different. I love the decor in Devocion too but it is very different feel. Devocion does get crowded and with not enough seats, you end up hesitating if you want to meet someone there (because what if you can't grab seats?). I love that Devocion is a roaster too, but the coffee they have is a very different flavor profile than White Noise. I can't go into flavor profiles right now because White Noise seems to still be figuring things out, but I can tell you that the quality and care they put into making your cuppa is the same, if not more. They play "lofi beats to study to" oh my lord YESS. - Also $8.5 for a damn pb & jelly sandwich uwu - I got the avocado toast for around $10. Pricey but I guess standard for New York. There's no egg on it, I think you have to pay extra for that. But it was actually really good. SOFT ass bread yo. And they got some fancy veggies and some fancy cheese on there for some crunch. I happened to be in the area for an errand & my original destination wasn't open yet so I thought I'd come in to do some work/ grab a bite. I got the egg sandwich & I will say the egg was really good and the brioche was soft and paired well but I couldn't get the taste of the plum Mayo which sounded really good :( I feel like for the price, it wasn't really worth it- I got just the egg but you can also add salmon, prosciutto etc for an added cost. This is an amazing coffee place in DTBR (downtown Brooklyn, for the non New Yorkers). I had a latte and a cappuccino. Both drinks tasted amazing, not too milky or watered down like some other places. The best part though was the chocolate croissant, which is the best I've had in recent memory. The ratio of bread to chocolate was perfect and the texture of the overall croissant was amazing. The tables are extremely wobbly, so don't touch them if you want to keep your coffee in the mug. Spilled coffee stains on the wall in the corner, along with the corner bench seat that's clearly not been cleaned in a while. Water isn't freely available like at most cafés; instead you just keep going up and asking the barista for more. The music is way too loud. And as others have recently noted, they don't give you wifi. But the flat white is good. read more

Despite the location, this coffee shop has a very local, small town feel, which was a pleasant surprise. The folks behind the counter were super friendly and knew many of the people coming in. I ordered the Kyoto cold brew and a ham & cheese croissant. Both were amazing! The croissant put my local French bakery's croissant (which is also delicious) to shame! Buttery, flaky, AND they use REAL ham. And the Kyoto was just right--light and not overly acidic. What's not to love?! The venue itself is well decorated and very clean. It is a cute cafe; very spacious with marble tables and bonsai trees that is instagrammable. This cafe is my aesthetic. On its menu, there were coffee, tea, juice, avocado toast, PBJ, tamagoyaki sando, acai, and parfait. I got an Iced Matcha Latte ($5.99) and my friend got the Kyoto ($5.50+tax), which came in a smaller cup size than the Matcha Latte. The Matcha Latte was not that powdery and not that sweet. I kind of wished it was a bit sweeter. Overall, I would definitely return to try more items on the menu, such as the tamagoyaki sando. read more
