Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. Came in with big expectations. We had a reservation for Wednesday night. It was super busy. We got there early and there was actually a spot at the bar, so we sat there instead. Ordered my go to drink, long island and it was sub par. The food was only room temperature. I ordered the shroom burger which was described as crisp mushrooms. They weren't crisp. The breading was soggy and falling off of the mushroom. The fries were also soggy, unseasoned and room temp. $3 upcharge for that disappointment. I dod like the wagu beef chili. Of course had to order the whiskey cake. It was good. The cake was beyond cake flavor and texture. Not sure if I would return based on this experience. read more

Can I just live here? It felt very homey with fireplace in patio and heater. You had choice for paper menu or QR menu. We chose QR so we sat outside in the patio. I had the guava pineapple vodka gimlet, it was tropical light sweet drink and also the Pinot Grigio so crisp and cold. The happy hour menu we had mini wagyu corn dogs it was puffy light crispy corn dog. It was inhaled so delicious. They had ketchup mustard dip complimented the dog. Yes I was nibbling that crunchy batter off that stick. They have a creative menu w sandwiches and the Switch it up the chef makes that day. The little block of short rib packed w flavor and tender. The pappardelle noodle tastes so homemade. The celery and onion was under cooked way too crunchy but still good. Get the adult mac, so creamy and bits of bacon. The chicken pesto sandwich so flavorful, melty havarti cheese w bacon on sourdough- oh w avocado mash! Fresh made Dill potato chips oh my! You can't leave w/o getting the whiskey cake. Caramel goodness poured over cake and toasted candied pecans. Btw the bowl of homemade whipped cream was just as good. I felt like this place was telling a story and showing us through their food, it was like grandma back in the kitchen but she's also a trained chef, made w love. Tip: make reservation if you want to make sure you get a spot. read more

I had a reservation here for me and a group of 10 people for my birthday brunch. Our servers were very friendly and the food was decent. Everything that you would expect at a general brunch place. Nothing was too out of the ordinary as far as the menu goes, but the food was still good. I had about 4 of my friends not get their food until 10 minutes after everyone else got theirs, so it was a bit awkward, but the servers made sure to get it on the table as soon as they could. We also had the two desserts they offered, the whiskey cake and bread pudding. Both were really good. As far as brunch places go, this is a solid pick if you're looking for something within the lines. read more

i'm a regular here! always love the food and drinks...but last week was pretty disappointing. they changed the menu (to be expected) but the presentation was meh and the charcuterie board was underwhelming. we ate it still but it made me sad. hope it was just an off day for them read more

Great food and service! Must try and will be back! I had the best food I've had in a long time and really enjoyed the non-alcoholic drinks!

This is a delicious place to meet up for brunch with family and friends. The menu offers excellent options. My personal favorite is the chicken and waffles which they serve all day. A must try from their menu is the whiskey cake itself, served with fleshly whipped cream it is so delicious! And very friendly staff read more

I'd happily write a glowing review about Whiskey Cake Restaurant and their outstanding server Joe! Whiskey Cake is a restaurant gem that stands out from the rest. From the moment you walk in the door, the warm and inviting atmosphere clearly indicates what's to come. The decor is charming and rustic, with a beautiful bar area and an open floor plan. Every dish is expertly prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and bursting with flavor. The menu has delicious options, from perfectly cooked food items and flavorful salads to the famous Whiskey Cake dessert...oh my GOOODness . But what made our experience at Whiskey Cake exceptional was our server, Joe. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, explaining the menu and making recommendations based on our preferences. His service level was outstanding, and he made us feel like valued guests throughout the entire meal. You could tell he genuinely cared about the guests, not just nice, so that he would get a big tip. , Overall, I highly recommend Whiskey Cake Restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. The delicious food, nice atmosphere, and exceptional service, particularly from Joe, make this restaurant a true standout. We will be back soon. PS I loved the cardboard box rondeaux coasters...that rocked. When we made our reservation, the form asked if there was any special occasion,, and I wrote birthday...and of all things, they had a birthday card on the table signed by everyone that worked there. I mean come on, how special was that. read more

Sorry to report, 3-pigs were terrible, in the last year, they are not good. My son's spinach salad, with chicken, was good though. I tried the pork sliders twice over an 8 month period, before writing a poor review. Service was good, as always! Time to take the sliders off the menu please. read more

Loved this place! It was my first time and I can't wait to go back! Our server was the best I've had in a while, super attentive and funny. He recommended great drinks and really knew the menu. I also didn't get the whiskey cake because I was so full, but boy am I glad I did get it! This is one of the best desserts I've had at a restaurant I'm the past few months... and I eat out lot (not that I'm particularly proud of that...but it provides context) Cute environment and nice vibe inside the establishment. I definitely recommend try it out! Perfect for families, friends, and dates! read more

Ordered French press coffee with some creamer. Our server brought it to us in dirty dishes but we didn't discover that till we were halfway through our drinks and could see the nasty caked on garbage on the inside of our creamer dish. After waving to the manager (who ignored us) I got up and asked our server what was in our dish. He apologized but instead of bringing us new coffee, he only brought us new creamer.... After we'd already poured it into our coffee and DRANK IT. Fully disgusting. We canceled our order and left. Gross. Won't be back. read more

During this crazy unprecedented time I think it's worthy that Whiskey Cake and their servers get a major shout out. I've never had table side service here but during the quarantine they offer something called "Quarantine Packs"- great idea- ours consisted of ground beef, flank steaks, a chicken, squash, eggs, milk, butter, and two rolls of toilet paper- and most importantly a 6 pack of beer. I didn't get a chance to sample their namesake because they were sold out- but we will be back. All tips went to the servers and they were working very hard to keep things organized and moving. We will be back soon for another pack, smiling faces, and soon after a sit down service. Well done whiskey cake and staff!!!! read more

We had reservations and were a big party. The waiter treated one end of the table different than our other side a would put the charm on when he was speaking on one side and got really snappy and short with the other side. He wouldn't answer the questions regarding the menu and seemed to be rush. My coworker is from a different country and was having trouble with the menu and he just didn't care to assist her. The "cake" that they are known for is really dry just like the service. read more

I recently traveled to Dallas and found myself at whiskey cake the first night for happy hour and dinner. The atmosphere was great and all of the food and drinks were very good. I tried a variety of drinks with my favorite being the Mangolorian which was spicy and had a good kick. For dinner I went with their recommendation and had the pork chop which had an apple cider glaze and corn succotash. This was cooked perfectly and the succotash balanced the dish well. We also had to try the whiskey cake of course and this was amazing. It's enough to feed 2-3 people and comes with a bowl of whipped cream on the side. This was definitely a great meal as we really enjoyed the atmosphere and service here. A great spot for a good time! read more

Came here with my family and a baby. They have high chairs and slings which were great if you have kids. One thing I noticed overall was the service and atmosphere was great! This Whiskey Cake location is located across from their sister restaurant (my favorite restuarant; Sixty Vines). They are very different restaurants and menus and they both have their own concepts but one thing I love about Whiskey Cake is that it has their own vibe. My mom, roommate and I split the duck wings and we regretted that decision because those duck wings may just be the best thing on the menu (besides the whiskey cake). The duck wings are huge! Only 3 come per serving and it tastes cured kind of like Turkey legs. On top of that they put this thai chili sauce which is a little sweet and it's amazing! My mom and I split the braised short rib with spaghetti squash. That dish is HUGE. They split the plate in the kitchen and we still received huge portions but it was small enough for us to eat it all with having room for whiskey cake. Lastly the whiskey cake was the most delicious piece of cake I've ever had. It comes with a caramel sauce, candied pecans and fresh whipped cream. Yes. The cake is warm! What I loved about it is it didnt taste like Whiskey at all! It just tasted like a caramel cake. Overall all the food was delicious, staff was great and it makes Sixty Vines run for their money! Awesome restaurant and you will not be disappointed! read more

Loved how spacious this restaurant was, also the decor! There's also a patio! The food was really good, no complaints at all. I will say the service was a little over the top, I mean not a bad thing, but our server was at our table almost every 5-10 minutes lol The cocktails are really good! I had the Winchester, it was so refreshing. I loved the variety of whiskey cocktails they had, so many options! For food I had the chicken and cheese melt...YUM. The sandwich is very filling, love the avocados! I also love how good the rotisserie chicken in the sandwich was, it was so good I was picking the chicken out and just eating it. I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese, it's super cheesy, I didn't get the bacon with it! I'll definitely be back to try more menu items! read more

This place was a mad house at 2:30 on a Sunday. It was packed and loud and service was slow. I'm sure the staff was overwhelmed as they couldn't clean tables, refill drinks, take orders or serve meals fast enough. The tension was palpable...it wasn't a pleasant experience. This, perhaps, is what happens when a business is TOO successful. I don't have an answer for it, but I won't be dining there again, even though the food was promising. The fries accompanying my chicken sandwich were room temperature, as was the chardonnay. The steak ordered medium rare was rarer than expected. The ketchup was incredible and the Whisky Cake was fabulous. read more

Came here for the first time and what a treat. Everything everyone ordered was good. Salmon and grains. Deviled eggs. Tbone lamb chops and grits. Caramelized bacon and of course the whiskey cake. The customer service started out a bit shaky but once our server changed to someone else, it was all uphill from there. He was great! Reverse happy hour starts at 9 and he allowed us to order at 8:40 lol. Will definitely be back as there are so many other things I'm anxious to try. read more

Most of the food I've had here is good. The chicken sandwich is really good, pork chop is awesome, and whiskey cake is legit! I don't drink so I always get the pink thing mocktail and I just wish it was a bit larger for the price. Also loved paying at the table with my card! read more

Do you love whiskey?? Than this is your place. The bartenders know their stuff. You can get a taster and they can suggest anything you like. They get a lot of special reserve casks made just for them. The food is also ALWAYS on par. Ask what the deviled eggs are on special. They are always really creative and good. The burger is amazing. The chili is yummy, but watch out, it's spicy! You will not regret this place. read more

This place was highly recommended so decided to check it out. The staff and our server were extremely friendly and helpful! I started with Wabbit Smash which was delicious and refreshing, exactly what I was looking for! Plus points for aesthetic. For brunch I ordered the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. I wasn't entirely impressed with the pancakes themselves- I didn't quite enjoy bites without the icing/syrup complementing them as they weren't very flavorful and a bit dry. However I did have a pleasant experience otherwise and I might come back to try something else off the menu! read more

I have been here several times and this was by far my worst experience. Our waiter, Casey seemed nice enough at first. We placed our order for two appetizers and our meals. Our appetizers came out and seconds later our entrees arrived. I kindly asked him if he could place it at least under a heat lamp thinking he would recognize the mistake and remake it. He chuckled at me and said, "sure" as if I was the one was being unreasonable. While ordering originally I asked for a wagyu chili be ordered to go. By the end of the meal I was so frustrated I just let it be and went without. Originally when we walked in we also discussed splitting the whiskey cake by i had such a sour taste in my mouth from the bad service i just wanted to leave as fast as possible. Upon bringing our check, Casey literally stood over me making it incredibly awkward as it was obvious it was not a good experience. Now, I always tip at least 20 percent knowing this is their livelihood but that was definitely the icing on the cake. read more

Had the salmon and substituted the side with the cauliflower Parmesan fregola. The "wood grilled" salmon was tasteless and didn't seem seasoned at all. The fregola had no taste. Could not taste the Parmesan or anything else. It was a mushy texture that was completely unappealing. The drinks were very good. The deviled eggs appetizer was good but also needed more seasoning. Overall terrible experience. read more

Pretty nice dinner place and I liked the decor (especially the cool vases on the table with lavender). Our server, Peanut, was attentive and answered all our questions. (Yes, he told us his name was Peanut). Our party of four ordered two OMG burgers, the sandwich of the day---Pickled Rachel (a rueben), and the salmon on ancient grains with a side of adult mac 'n cheese. The Pickled Rachel (love the name) was pretty tasty and piled high with pastrami. The burgers looked and must have been delicious. I snagged a bite of the salmon and it was unbelievable. That diner also let me try the mac 'n cheese and it was good too. We ordered a couple of cocktails, a tiki-fied sweet one and The Aviation. I loved that last one! Of course, the four of us split the obligatory Whiskey Cake. We almost ordered a second one. Fun spot! read more

Great food, mixology, and service. I enjoy popping in and sitting at the bar for a meal and drink

Chicken sandwich was great. My pork chop was awesome. This place does not know a thing about whiskey. Only about ruining a nice whiskey with ice or undesirable cocktails. The steak was so bad. Do not get the steak. Service was a crap shoot. Do not give someone learning how to be a waiter a table bigger than 6 people. That's just cruel. Atmosphere was wonky. Too many themes in one room. Just not a place to visit if you have never been. read more

We were in the area and a co-worker of my wife recommended this place so we decided to give it a try for lunch on a Saturday. Luckily, we just beat the rush. This place seems to be quite popular. We did not have time to wait for a table so we ate at the bar and it is full service so it was fine. Started with the deviled eggs ($6). They were good, kind of unique and had a little spicy kick that I liked. We were given the brunch menu even though it was after noon and I wanted lunch, so I asked for the lunch menu and settled on the OMG burger ($14). It was good but not sure it was OMG. Burger was cooked properly and it was a sloppy good burger that needed salt and pepper on the meat itself. It's kind of pricey, I think, at $14 but I would consider getting it again. The wife had the Farmer's breakfast and thought everything tasted very fresh. She liked it a lot. I think it's a keeper at $11. Ambience is upscale casual. All the employees seemed really friendly, even if you are not "their" customer. Our server at the bar could not have been better. Very friendly and efficient. Good job! We don't live in Plano and really only go there once every 5 years or so (probably longer than that) but I would definitely consider returning if we are ever in the area again. read more

There was not a thing we had that I would not happily eat again. Every single thing was fresh, very well prepared, flavorful and I would hate to see the calorie count, but we don't need to get into that! The whiskey cake was as good as you would think with the restaurant being named after it...fantastic! A bit expensive, but we'll worth the price. We had a great waitress and are looking forward to returning. read more
