The photo depicts the storefront of What Tea, a bubble tea shop located in a Chinatown food court. The sign features Chinese characters and the English name, with a cartoon tea cup logo. The interior includes a counter with promotional posters, a potted plant, and a small device mounted on the wall. The setting suggests a takeout-focused business specializing in fruit and milk teas.

Do not engage staff if you don't have to. Use kiosk to order and you will thank me. The shaved ice across from them closed down. I saw What Tea advertised shaved ice as well so I walked up to order matcha flavor. She said they don't have it. So next one up is mango. She answered no to that too. My next question was "what flavors do you have?" I think it makes sense to cross out "sold out/unavailable" flavors to make easy ordering? I didn't like the other flavor options so I asked matcha flavored ice cream. Guess what? They don't have that it either! By that point I knew I should leave but whiny kid must have a treat so without challenging staff any further, I asked for vanilla. Wow, I thought it would be in a cheap edible cone but it was in a small cup. It also tasted like hood brand where I can pay $1.99 for half a gallon. Sadly I will not return.

a person holding a cup of tea - A person holds a tall, clear plastic cup filled with orange-colored bubble tea, likely fruit or milk tea. The cup has a cartoon sheep illustration with question marks and handwritten text around it. The background shows an outdoor urban setting with a sidewalk and building window.

Another bubble tea place but this probably the smallest shop for bubble tea in Chinatown. Not a place where you can sit and chat, a place to order to go. I ordered the mixed fruit tea (mango, orange, and passionfruit) with no sugar and ice. Lack of real fruit, only can taste the orange, no mango and passionfruit taste but I still do like it. Definitely will try other drinks and the taro block dessert.

Kumquat lemon w/ sago - A person wearing a blue jacket holds a large plastic cup of bubble tea with tapioca pearls at the bottom and lemon slices inside. The cup has a cartoon sheep illustration and the words 'What Tea' along with some Chinese characters. The drink is outside on a city sidewalk, with pedestrians and a vehicle visible in the background, and an orange traffic cone on the street.

Another bubble tea place in Chinatown, located in the tiny food court with sushi and the egg puff lady. I came here during their soft opening and got a lemon kumquat tea with sago, since they didn't have any boba available. There were a few workers behind the stall to take and make the order. The packaging on the cup was cute and the tea was refreshing, but it wasn't anything special. I'll definitely be back to try out a different drink with their boba.

a woman standing at a counter - The image shows the interior of a bubble tea shop called 'What Tea,' located in a food court. The shop has a signboard with the name 'What Tea' and a cartoon sheep drawing, along with text in Chinese and English. A promotional poster on the counter advertises a buy-one-get-one-half-off deal on drinks. A staff member is preparing drinks behind the counter, with shelves and a refrigerator visible in the background. An order kiosk is positioned to the right of the counter.

The store front is located inside the food hall which includes Avana Sushi and the waffle lady. Came here for their soft opening BOGO 50% off and ordered the Grapefruit Green Tea because I can't handle caffeine anymore after 6PM Quick to get my order and saw that they made it with a bit of syrup and real grapefruit slices. The drink itself is really good. You can really taste the tea base and it's not too syrupy or sweet. Will definitely come back to try their milk tea and boba! If you like grapefruit drinks, it's now one of my favorite grapefruit tea place!

This hidden gem of a Japanese matcha shop near MFA has a history evident in its decor. It's…read moredefinitely run by Japanese (not Chinese), which is quite rare. They offer four types of ice cream: matcha, hojicha, ube, and yuzu. There are flavor restrictions (see menu) for mixes, but you can have any combination. A cup costs $7.75 and is enough for two people. Matcha Soft Served Ice Cream: It looked ordinary, but the taste was authentic and pure, with a rich, bitter and fragrant aroma. For most palates, it might even be a bit too bitter. According to the shop, they use matcha from Harima Garden播磨園, Uji宇治. The texture was also very smooth. Ube Soft Served Ice Cream: After seeing the annual "Art in Bloom", I felt the taro flavor was more suitable for the blooming flowers of spring. Spring should be sweet, not bitter! It also had a very pure and natural flavor, not too sweet, but very fragrant. Its texture was a bit smoother than the matcha one. I'd love to try the parfait and drinks next time! However, you need to pick up your food at the counter yourself, and it gets crowded and chaotic on weekends.

I've tried the…read moreMatcha Maiko parfait and other drinks they've offered but I think they do the matcha soft serve best and that's the only thing worth getting. Everything else always feel like a bit of a let down (hence the one star off). Sometimes they have the hojicha and it's a grainier version of the matcha green tea which might not be everyone's cup of tea but I personally really enjoy it! TLDR: Get the matcha soft serve and skip the parfait

She was making my drink. I just walked out leaving it there. I cannot believe what I saw. EDIT Based on Owner Response: So if you watched, you'd see me standing staring open mouthed watching through the blue glass, look around to see if anyone else was seeing what I was, then LEAVE WITHOUT THE DRINK I PAID FOR because of what I saw. I understand you're doing what you need to for your business, but don't try to make it seem like I imagined it. She blew her nose and used the napkin to clean up empty Yakult containers and wipe the counter down. She was not wearing gloves. Repeatedly touched her hair and face and was texting in between tasks.
