    Takoyaki(6)

Vivi's Takoyaki isn't the best but for $6, you can get 6. It'll satisfy your cravings for sure. Of course you're not going to get the best ingredients like chunks of octopus but the flavor is there. Their popcorn chicken is definitely a hit. Tip - takoyaki must be eaten fresh! If you wait too long, it's definitely not that great. Same goes for the popcorn chicken. It will get soggy.

Vivi's bright interior is very welcoming and offers a great variety of drinks and snacks! I love the popcorn chicken and Taiwanese sausage! There are 5 flavors for the popcorn chicken and you can't go wrong with any. The spicy version is definitely very spicy and would stay away if you cannot handle any spice. My favorites were the curry and garlic. The drinks are also pretty good and it complements the snacks very well especially if you order a refreshing fruity drink.

I'll make the occasional stop at Vivi's when visiting my hometown of Brighton, MA. Though this staple hasn't been open for very long, I'll say it's a great addition to Brighton Center and definitely can satisfy a craving. I have tried a variety of tea's from here, and can say the Kumquat Lemon is by far my favorite (I prefer fruit based boba drinks). I have also tried various types of slush, strawberry, jasmine honey, and taro. All very good. This shop also offers special teas that come with diced fruit, and while creative, I will say it does overpower the drink a bit.

We just picked up takeout from MDM Noodles and wanted to round of our meal with a drink. Enter, Vivi bubble tea, just diagonally across the street. Lots of good options on the menu. But we wanted some "original" flavors (no Oreos, or creme brulee, haha). So we opted for a large size of the red bean matcha milk tea, no ice, and with 70% sugar. Even though we had already picked up dinner, we were too tempted by their popcorn chicken and added that to our order too. You can pick any one of FIVE flavors, woah! Salt-pepper, spicy, garlic, curry, basil. After a quick flavor playoff in our mind, garlic won in the end! The whole order took only a few minutes, they were super quick and friendly behind the counter (and it felt nice to order in person versus a screen, after so many months). The food and drink were both great! The sugar level of the bubble tea was how we like it and the quantity was good too. You get a lot of popcorn chicken in that portion. The only thing missing was probably a dipping sauce (my favorite!) but not a big deal because the chicken had enough flavor on its own. We'll be back to try more! Pro tip: The menu on the outside of the shop is not the most recent, make sure to check the one inside.

Such a cute and clean boba shop! Sorely needed in the Brighton area since most bubble tea places congregate by Harvard Ave. There's quite a few seats as well, along with plenty of outlets by the window bar. I tried the Japanese Matcha Milk Tea with boba. The drink came out very quickly and definitely satisfied my taste buds. I will definitely be back, and next time, I plan to try one of their many food offerings including sausage, takoyaki, and fried chicken. They were not too busy on a Saturday mid morning, but I'm sure once more people find out they will get busier. There is a loyalty card, which can helps me decide where to get boba. Overall, a very welcome addition to Brighton.

It's my first time trying their jelly tea! I ordered the pineapple grapefruit jelly tea! Jelly tea is pretty much having small chunks of jello. It's good though! They have a variety of boba tea selections and they have a kitchen menu. I tried all the 5 flavors of popcorn chicken, curly fries, Taiwanese sausage and takoyaki! It was all yummy! Great snacks and boba tea!

    Tiramisu milk tea with tapioca

Vivi Bubble Tea has great Taiwanese popcorn chicken. I had a craving for this yummy appetizer, so I placed a take order consisting of garlic popcorn chicken and a tiramisu milk tea with boba. Garlic is one of several flavors offered at Vivi - the other flavors include salt and pepper, curry, and basil. The popcorn chicken portion size is generous. The breading has a delicious, but not overwhelming garlic flavor. In addition, every chunk had a large amount of juicy meat in it. Definitely will come back for another order of popcorn chicken and will probably try the other flavors. I liked my tiramisu milk tea. At 30% sugar, it was not very sweet (intentionally) and there were slight overtones of coffee. I wasn't too impressed with the boba that day - they were mushy for my liking, but it's possible that it could have been the day too. Minus the boba, the drink itself was fine. Overall, Vivi is a decent place for both snacks and drinks. Not every bubble tea shop offers its variety of snacks.

I like Vivi. Their drinks are good and their cups are cute. Oh and the staff is nice. My boyfriend and I visited Vivi a little before COVID-19 shut everything down. We were the only 2 customers which was peculiar for a weekend night. We opted for one of their fruit teas and flaming brown sugar milk. The fruit tea was refreshing, sweet and filled with bits of fruit, jelly and aloe. I forgot to lower the sweetness so their regular sweetness level is definitely too sweet for my liking. The flaming brown sugar milk drink was cool - since we were the only ones there we asked if they could torch the drink in front of us and they obliged. I love how they brulee'd the top as it definitely makes for a cool drink. The milk was also not overwhelmingly sweet which was nice and the tapioca balls were also the perfect texture. I'm for sure a fan and would return again.

PLUS, they close later than both. I have this bad habit of going here almost every time I have a meal in the area LOL. The addiction is real! I love that they keep adding new drinks to their menu... keeps it interesting. My favorite is still the Mango Coconut Boom but I'm a fan of most of their new drinks, like the Golden Oolong Yuzu & their King Jasmine Guava! I tried the Pistachio Cloud Jasmine Coconut, as well, and it's super similar to one of my favorites from MollyTea. I prefer the one from MollyTea more w/ champaca tea. Since their opening here, I have tried almost all of the drinks & their mango coconut boom is STILL superior! Highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys mango. It is pretty much their version of mango pomelo sago (they have a version with pomelo but I like it without). SO GOOD! ***Pro tip: order ahead of time via HeyTea app. This is a lifesaver, since the wait time is pretty atrocious most days still. Usually takes ~20 min to be ready.

The wait time estimates are relatively accurate too. Menu-wise, they have a nice variety of both fruity and creamy flavors. Definitely easy to find something for everyone's palette. I really enjoyed their Grape Boom Drink! The sweetness level was perfectly not too sweet with plenty of freshness from the actual grapes. Their Mango Sago Drink was also great but a bit too heavy. If you're looking for more refreshing drinks, definitely go for their fruity options.

The mochi was so chewy and fresh, the matcha was rich and creamy, the strawberries provided a hint a tartness that gave balance, and the butter crunch made it the perfect texture combination. It doesn't get better than this. I think about this place often. You have the option of buying pre-made mochi. It was my first time trying taro pork floss mochi. I felt like the sweet cream, taro, and mochi was good, but it was sweet in comparison to the pork floss? the pork floss is supposed to make it savory, but the sweetness overpowers the pork floss, so I found it to be odd. Their prices are reasonable for this type of homestyle fare, so you have no reason to give your money to a big chain owned by fat cats! ;) On weekends, the wait for table seating can be an hour-plus but there is a reason for this. We ordered popcorn chicken to start and devoured our bowls of soup: chicken and braised beef. Mine was the latter and I ended up ordering additional noodles and Chinese veggies so the delicious broth would not go to waste! My side order of noodles was a healthy portion. I also tried the pork wontons and we finished off our meal with the sesame seed "appetizer" balls (4 small pieces: 2 skewers with 2 each). Dine-in seating is limited but what they have is clean and simple. The complementary jasmine and green hot tea is delicious. Andy served us and was attentive and affable. As a family run restaurant , grandma and the rest of the family had a flight to catch to Taiwan the next day; all the ingredients are fresh to prep daily and sadly for some, they had to get turned away that night... I went heavy hitter mode, I was in the zone. I got the salt & pepper pork chop- wasn't going to eat the rice but as you can see from the pic below of the noodles- I licked the entire plate clean. This pork chop was perfectly seasoned and it was insanely tender. Very impressed with how tender and flavorful it was. Next up had the spicy wonton noodles; just truly amazing, idk what else to say. The noodles are perfectly cooked, super flavorful dish. The beef noodles were also incredible and the braised beef pieces stole the show in that bowl. I left zero room for any to go box.
