The nine cream puffs I bought cost over $30 in total. They were all empty inside with only a very small amount of cream, even though they were supposed to be filled with various creams. I will never go back there and will discourage others from going as well. Each cream puff costs $3.50 and is the size of a six-month-old baby's fist. There was no cream inside. I should have returned to the store and asked for a refund. read more

My literal favorite milk tea place in town! They prepare the drinks really fast, and always with a smile! And their drinks are amazing with the cutest cups! My all time favorite is the matcha crème brûlée, but the new Chocolate Crème Brûlée drink & puffs were so good too!! The puffs were crispy outside with runny center (custard for me, chocolate for my friend). The drink is rich, smooth, perfectly chocolaty. I could do this everyday!! There's no seating inside but there's a cute bench outside!! But I always just grab and go. read more

Most of the reviews here are negative because of the service, but with the self-serve kiosk we didn't need to wait long at all. Their price range is between mid-priced to expensive. Besides the take-home bottle drinks, they're around the same price as any other boba shop. The quality is definitely there, I really enjoyed the freshness of the strawberry milk tea and who doesn't like a delicious matcha latte? Their panna cotta is a fun, unique offering compared to your standard boba pearls. Everything was refreshing and not too sweet. Would definitely come back! read more

First, I want to point out that many of the negative reviews seem to be about slow service rather than drink quality. The drinks and the employees are great! I absolutely love the Crème Brûlée Milk Tea--it's perfectly creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness. It's always been my go-to drink. The Matcha Latte with Crème Brûlée is also good (not a fan of Adzuki topping that comes with it). Today, I tried the Matcha Latte with Panna Cotta, and it was delicious! I'd definitely get it again. Pro tip: don't mix the content so you can get the perfect balance of sweetness. While there can be a bit of a wait, I think it's worth it. For those who prefer not to wait, they do accept online orders. read more

Machi Machi is launching their new mango series this Friday August, 16th 2024 with four different options: Mango Smoothie Cream Cheese Foam Smoothie Grapefruit Mango Cream Smoothie Mango Cream Smoothie with Fruit Jelly (comes in their signature bottle) Their mango smoothies are all refreshingly sweet that only get smoother with the addition of cream cheese foam or cream alone if the cheese isn't your kind of funk. Personally, I felt like the cream cheese worked but I enjoyed the cream foam more The grapefruit and fruit jelly adds a fun extra note of flavor and texture to the mango smoothie It's getting hot this summer so come cool down with Machi Machi's mango series‼ read more

Ordering. Is usually on the kiosk to the right when you walk in, nobody is usually at the counter except to bring the drinks out front in the times we stopped by. We got the strawberry panna cotta and grapefruit mango cheese foam but they made the other version in the bottle which was the wrong drink and super sour sweet, but we were on a time crunch so a bit overpriced for what we got. read more

a great boba/tea spot to check out, if you're looking for an alternative to your typical post-meal boba! cute and minimal aesthetic with a few seats (less than 5). service/the wait can take some time depending on the time you go, so be prepared to wait (off peak ~15min). we really enjoyed the panna cotta drinks, which i think makes machi machi unique! our favorite definitely was the strawberry milk with panna cotta. so fresh and creamy! tip: don't mix and use a straw to "poke" through the panna cotta! although it's a bit pricey (~$9 each), it comes with a cute bottle and is nice to check out if you're in the area. read more

Ever since I saw other people walking down the street drinking from their cute, little bottles ... reminiscent of body lotion, I've been wanting to try this place. It's very small inside but very open and clean. There's not much of an area to sit and chill, so these drinks are best gotten to drink on the go. The menu is pretty extensive for their yummy drinks. I got the Matcha Latte with Panna Cotta and my BF got the Matcha Latte with Crème Brûlée & Adzuki Bean. Only some of the drinks come in the cute, little bottle, so I made sure to get one that did. Both drinks were so yummy!!! I love that they have directions on how to drink them. They're pricey but comparable to drinks like this. Regarding the service, it was friendly and helpful. There's also a kiosk you can order from too. There was a little wait from when we ordered to when we got our drinks, but it wasn't horrible ... probably like 5-10 minutes. I'll definitely be coming back here to try more drinks. read more

I walked past this place and immediately wanted to try it because of the cute bottles, and I saw a few recommended drinks on Yelp so I ordered the strawberry panna cotta and also the matcha adzuki bean with creme brulee, and both were really good! The panna cotta was soft and mixed in with the strawberry, and the adzuki beans in the matcha weren't too hard and went really well with the matcha. I feel like the cream in the matcha drink was a little intense and overshadowed the matcha a little bit, but if you like your drink more sweet this is a good option. The drinks are also a bit more on the expensive side, so this would be more of a dessert/treat than something I would get consistently. read more

I went with a group of friends after eating mala restaurant nearby. Very good to cool you down after something spicy. Taste was 4.5/5 with a nice strong tea flavor in the jasmine green tea with plum jello drink. Cost was on the pricier side so 3/5. Overalll, worth a try once. read more

We always come here before they close. It's not too busy with people inside but looks like online ordering is pretty busy for them. I always try to order the mango pomelo but they don't have it. When I try to order the grapefruit mango at first they said they ran out of mango so they aren't making it anymore. So I just order the one they have for me and my son. I just hope this guy would have suggested something similar but he just straight up said no to me. Oh well! Anyway I got the brown sugar latte. It tasted good the only thing is that the sugar seems to be so stiff at the bottom that I barely mixes to the milk. The strawberry panna cotta I got for my son was pretty good. read more

I order within 5mins of arriving but it took 40 minutes to get the drink. There's no seating, you can order at the kiosk or in person. I got the oolong with crema. I liked that the drink had a good tea flavor, but I don't think it's worth the wait or price. read more

Long line always. Must be either good or the hype. Not sure where the hype came from though. But anyways, I like their number one item, the Cream Brûlée. Been here several times and the wait is still very long to get their drinks although it's been open for quite a few months for now. I've waited for around 45 minutes before but their black milk tea with creme brulee and matcha latte with creme brulee and adzuki bean is worth waiting! Their matcha drinks have a good matcha flavor and not too sweet. However, their panna cotta drinks are not that worth in my opinion. Should go there on weekdays and off-hours to avoid the wait. read more

If there's a line to get into a store, you know it's gotta be good. Even a few weeks after its opening, people are still lining up to come here. We waited maybe 20 minutes in line just to place our order. Once we did place our order, it was pretty fast though. The inside is pretty sparsely furnished, so it's more geared to be a takeout place. We got a warm creme brulee tea with taro balls. It really hit the spot. The sweetness was perfect (they didn't let us adjust it). The taro balls were really unique and I loved them. They were nice and soft. Incredibly expensive compared to the competition in the area, but it definitely does stand out. read more

This is one of those bubble tea shops where you can tell they actually care about how their tea tastes! On top of that, the pearls are also cooked very well. They open each day until they sell out so I would recommend stopping by during the day or in the early evening because the line outside can get pretty long. I tried their creme brulee milk tea (medium $7.05) with tapioca pearls ($1). With tax and before tip the total was close to $9. The price is quite expensive (remember those days when a bubble milk tea was $3???) but I think it is worth it for a drink where you can actually taste the tea. I'd much rather pay $9 here than $6 at Gong Cha for a cup of astringent sugar water. I was one of the last customers on a Sunday night and unfortunately did not get to try their taro balls. Their tapioca pearls were perfect, though-- cooked perfectly chewy with a tasty brown sugar flavor. The tea flavor in the milk tea was very fragrant without being bitter. I also liked how they torched the creme brulee at the top which added even more roasty, caramelized flavor. It looks like they are setting up an ordering kiosk but it was not available yet when I visited. This could help speed up the ordering, because as other reviewers said, the line outside could be 30-40 minutes plus even more waiting time inside before and after you order. read more

A fantastic new boba shop! We came here on a Saturday afternoon and the line was out the door. We waited about 20 minutes outside to order and then another 10-15 minutes after we ordered for our drinks. We got the crème brûlée milk tea with taro balls. It was delicious! The taro balls were the star of the show- like boba but softer, chewier and had chunks of taro in it. The milk tea was strong and flavorful, and the crème brûlée flavor added a nice sweet touch. We finished the drink so quickly. I can't wait to come back here and try other things on the menu. read more

The place was a bit small with just a standing counter. But it felt cozy, and the minimalistic art on the walls was cute. You can order with the cashier or do self checkout, and the drinks were ready within 10 minutes. Of the three drinks, I think the strawberry milk Panna cotta was the best. You can taste the freshness of strawberries, and the Panna cotta was silky smooth and has just the right amount of sweetness. The jasmine tea with fresh fruits was also refleshing, and they did not skimp on the fruits. I didn't really like the matcha latte. It was a bit bland. read more

My first time trying Machi Machi was when I was in the Tangram Mall in Flushing, NY & loved their drinks! Very happy that Machi Machi is now in Allston. We popped in here after lunch & ordered two drinks. They have an ordering kiosk in the corner where you can order drinks. Typically, the staff here does not take orders at the counter and are never actually at the front counter either unless they've finished making your drink. They only come out to the counter to tell you your drink is ready then they disappear again lol but it's okie. We ordered the Strawberry Milk W. Panna Cotta & Grapefruit Cheese Foam Mango Smoothie. I think my drink, grapefruit cheese foam mango smoothie, was supposed to be in a regular cup though and not the bottle cup but not sure. Anyways, both drinks were pretty good. Inside, there's no seating. They do have a counter though, where you can stand and drink ;) Machi Machi is a bit pricey, however, most boba shops nowadays are at similar prices. Highly recommend; they have some drinks that other boba spots don't offer. Parking: There's usually a good amount of street parking available on Harvard Ave. read more

A minimalist boba shop with a lot of hype, Machi Machi is known for their insta worthy drinks with panna cotta. LOCATION: Easy to spot in a corner on Harvard Ave, parking is hard to find so best times to visit would be late weekday nights. The shop itself is very small with no seating, and no bathrooms. DRINKS: We ordered the orange green tea and grapefruit. Both were great and would definitely get it again. The drinks were pretty pricey for what it was though and could have gotten the same drinks or similar at another shop at a lower price point. WAIT: Knocking down stars because of the wait time. We visited on a Monday night and waited 15-20 minutes for two drinks. The shop wasn't too busy but they did have online orders which took up most of their time. read more

i waited for the lines to finally die down and went on a rainy day. the front of the store is just for ordering and pick up. simple design with light wood finish as you would expect from a japanese establishment. got myself the black tea and oats milk with less sugar. sadly the flavors are in the following order: sugar, oats, then if you set your tongue to find the tea flavor... there's a distant tea flavor to it. i went home and brewed myself a real cup of black tea. for a cup of black tea costing close to $8 i should really have tea flavor in it. read more

Seems like the hype died down because the line used to be 30 mins + and wrapped around the boba shop for my first failed attempt. My friends and I decided that the wait was too long and left. I recently came back here last week and was able to get my order under 15 mins not once but TWICE!! I LOVE their black milk tea with creme brulee with less sugar. I came here because I wanted to see what all the hype was about since everyone seems to be posting them on socials. We got the Machi Bubble Tea, Matcha Latte with Pannacotta, and strawberry with no cheese foam. The fresh strawberry was standard, didn't taste like they added any strawberry syrup in there like other places, which is fine. The pannacotta was whatever and the matcha was too powdery. The machi bubble tea was very low tier. Reminds me of onezo milk tea but even more taste of creamer. I took two sips and couldn't drink it anymore. The boba was stiff in texture like it was undercooked. Super sticky. Hated it. I understand there were a lot of customers, but wait time for drinks was kinda long. Also, with the amount of space they have compared to the amount of customers piling in, you'd think they'd have like a person limit for Covid. But it was like crabs in a tank at the supermarket. In the end, as aesthetic as it is, I wouldn't come here again. Save your money. read more

I have had a wonderful experience every time I go here. My favorite drink has to be any of the bottled drinks with the Panna cotta. The best part is getting the chunks with your drink. The service has always been fine for me. It's easy to order with the kiosk or the worker. Drinks come out pretty fast unless they're super packed, in which case, of course, there would be a wait. Another cute little boba place in Allston. I think their selling point is really the aesthetic and the bottled drinks, but it's pricey and I think their drinks in normal cups are more worth the price. Jasmine green tea with plum jelly - jelly was good and the tea had good flavor, but even with less sugar it was still a little too sweet for me. Strawberry milk with panna cotta - the sugar was fixed for this drink but it wasn't too sweet and the panna cotta goes well with the strawberry milk. Another amazing boba place on Harvard Ave right next to Union. I came here early afternoon and it was already starting to get super busy. It's a small storefront with no tables. I waited in line for ~20 minutes just to get to the machine to order. I ordered a few drinks and the text I got said it would take about an hour wait, which I thought was a bit crazy, but the line kept getting longer. I waited about another ~20 minutes for my drinks before I got a text saying my drinks were ready. I tried the cream cheese foam black milk tea with boba, which ended up being a creme brulee cheese topping. The boba had a nice qq texture to it and the cheese foam was creamy. The milk tea was sweet, but not overly sugary. I also had the strawberry milk with panna cotta that comes in a plastic clear bottle. I enjoyed the sweet panna cotta that added more texture to the sweet strawberry milk, but for the price of around $8, I would not buy it again. Overall, machi machi is another great boba place, but I would only go again if there isn't a super long line. read more

Machi Machi is one of the most overpriced and unimpressive boba stores that opened up here in Boston. You are not allowed to do any customizations, and most drinks are defaulted to one size while charging an exorbitant price for what they have to offer. Be prepared to wait quite a bit for the drinks to be ready. If the people manning the cashiers are busy, you can also place your order on the machine instead. I tried the Black Milk Tea with Panna Cotta and came back to try the Black Milk Tea with Creme Brulee. The panna cotta is delicious, but the size of the bottle was extremely tiny. As if the bottle was not small enough, the panna cotta took up a chunk of the space at the bottom, leaving you with even less room for liquid. The milk tea was not even amazingly fragrant for the price you pay for. I came back to try the black milk tea with creme brulee as my friend said it was good and I was still not impressed. Don't get me wrong. The drink tasted fine. Did it taste so good that it made the $7 I paid for a MEDIUM sized drink negligible? No. You are better off going to many other nearby boba stores in Allston. read more
