Yummy. I love Vietnamese desserts that are not from Bambu. The boba here is good too. Just wish the shop was in a safer part of town. I can see why they close early compared to most other bubble tea stores compared to the rest of Boston. I got a che and a gardenia milk tea. I couldn't really taste the gardenia. Didn't realize the owners changed to akoko by coco leaf but i usually just come thru here for occasional smoothie! Mango passion, the space looked a bit dark when walking in, the front is well lit during the day with natural sunlight. The employees were super nice, they have clover system and checkout is easy. We got our drinks in a few minutes and it was a refreshing drink for a warm day. A tad on the sweeter side for me but still good overall! I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Milk at less sweet. Even at less sweet, the drink was still pretty sweet. I think most of the sweetness came from the strawberry sauce/puree. The strawberry was a little overpowering, and I couldn't really taste the matcha. Overall, this drink was okay. My cousin got the Oolong Milk Tea at less sweet and with boba, and I got to try a little bit of it. This drink was really good. The flan is a nice custard with crushed ice topped with coffee jelly. There is also coffee at the bottom of the bowl as well. Sometimes the flan it's not the most consistent (sometimes you can taste the egg more than others). I recently visited Coco Leaf - AkoKo café in Dorchester, and had such a wonderful experience. The café is bright and airy, and the décor is truly unique - I haven't seen anything like it in the area. I love the combination of café food with more of the traditional bubble tea menu. When I went in to visit, I wasn't 100% sure what I was signing up for, but was beyond impressed! The service was excellent as well - everyone we spoke to was so kind and attentive. Our top 3 orders: Dragonfruit fresca (I added mango): this was SO good. I'm a big bubble tea fan and it was sweet but not overwhelmingly so, and had the nice fizzy cut to it. My only quip was that I wish the specific dragonfruit flavor was a bit stronger, but whatever it tasted like was absolutely delicious - fruity and fresh!! Popcorn chicken: crispy, not too salty and perfectly hot when it arrived at our table. The popcorn chicken was SO good, and I think it would go well with essentially any meal - but was especially complementary to our sweet drinks and other dessert choices! Not too heavy, and truly just what we were looking for. Strawberry cream puff: one of their more popular dessert items, this was a big hit with us when we left. They actually offer the cream puff in multiple flavors, not limited to strawberry - but we did not regret our choice, and couldn't stop talking about the textures! Between the satisfying crunch on the outside, a not-too-sweet pastry and an incredibly decadent filling, this one is too good to miss. You have to try it! Most people that come here come to hang out or to study. The only thing is that sometimes street parking is hard to find during peak rush hour. Their Taro bubble tea isn't that good and tasted powdery. I honestly couldn't even finish it and I had to throw it away. Based SOLEY off of a Thai milk tea with boba, I give this place a solid 4 stars. There was a pretty substantial menu (Che, fruit tea, crepes etc) so I would love to come back and try more! The boba was delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, the workers were kind. My only feedback is my drink was not well mixed (you can see the condensed milk at the bottom) and the straw was too short for the really tall thin cup. Really small things, really. Coco Leaf is that one that is over on the other street that is not next to Bambu (sorry I get confused between all the similar Boba places in Dorchester, so that is for my clarification). I definitely enjoy their Okinawa Tea. It has a nice roasted flavor and good sweet Chewy Boba. Then I tried the brown sugar milk tea and I have to say I think it was advertised wrong. I don't think it's actually milk tea at all. I think it's one of those brown sugar milk drinks that is pretty popular on a lot of Vietnamese and other menus lately. It was still really good though - but it just tasted of milk and brown sugar. And she said the difference was it was more milky. How about just milky, with no tea! Next time I'll ask for that drink but with lots of black tea. Still, both drinks were delicious and service is amazing. Even though their Okinawa is good and they have some nice milk teas, I definitely think that their strength is their Che. So when you come down here check out the Che - authentic Viet dessert drinks. They are Vietnamese dessert drinks. Oh wait I just said that. I'm such a bimbo lately. So yes, the Che. Had it the first time I came here, wanted to try more, but got milkteadistracted. It's what a lot of others were ordering. It's what nearby Bambu is famous for, too. That's what I'll be trying next time I come down here - to compare them directly to Bambu. Fantastic Vietnamese tea/coffee/dessert shop for those who feel like venturing outside of the typical Boston boba places. Went here on a whim for a pre-dinner snack (lol) and then couldn't stop eating everything. The menu is quite expansive (snacks, milk tea, specialty viet drinks, coffee, smoothies etc etc.), which was a little overwhelming at first. They also have a dessert display where you can drool over all the enticing pastries (and where we got baited into getting a pandan mochi cake). We eventually opted for the popcorn chicken, che halo halo and the pandan cake. Here are my thoughts: Halo halo (4.5/5): As a disclaimer, the only other halo halo that I have tried is Jollibee's, so I didn't have crazy high expectations. Nevertheless, this was delightful! Halo halo is like a conglomerate of seemingly random ingredients, textures and flavors that somehow work together to make a delicious hybrid between ice cream sundae and boba tea. Pandan cake (5/5): Great flavor, texture and massive serving size! For those that have not had pandan, I'd describe it as a vaguely grassy vanilla flavor. Popcorn chicken (3/5): As tasty as this was, I have to say that I have had better. The service was generally ok, I ordered a jasmine milk foam tea, I wasn't asked a size but just went with it. I asked the type of milk they used because of a lactose intolerance, they assured me it was a non dairy milk, then I asked how much cheese foam, to which they replied it would only be a little at the top, so I ordered it. When I got the drink the entire thing was cheese foam with little to nothing else and I had to throw my drink away! It's not my first time coming here, so I'm pretty shocked at this mistake. I used to be obsessed with this place but the most recent time I went I felt a little disappointed. The halo halo was good but the ube ice cream tasted like vanilla ice cream with purple dye.
