That would be lazy and silly! :-P My pup was tired from doggy daycare and walking/smelling the square. Most of the time I was holding her when she wasn't at my feet. I noticed there was a cafe there. There wasn't when I was there before. We turned around like Abe Simpson in that brothel Bart was working at. To be respectful, even though the cafe and surrounding area might have had 3 people there, including a barista. I had 2 books, and some stationary on my buy list. Luckily those were near the back door, away from the cafe. But again- Not a single employee greeted, smiled, acknowledged, or offered assistance. I'm never coming back and telling my friends, neighbors, colleagues not to bother either. Spoiler - a few of my queer Black friends have had similar experiences. Do not bother responding.

Every place I go to accommodates this since it doesn't yield any extra coffee or product. This place said no, which is fine, totally their prerogative and I wasn't upset by it, just surprised. Sadly it was some of the most bitter cold brew I've ever had. Wow. I took one sip and even without sugar, a good coffee should sip nicely. It was so sharp that I returned it. I rarely return a coffee, especially at a small local place. I've only ever done it once before but holy moly. It just wasn't good. Lacked actual body and flavor, and was just bitter. It was such a cute place! I was so bummed. The guys behind the counter were nice, but the man with the darker complexion was an absolute sweetheart. Hopefully they have some locals who like their coffee, or maybe they should try a different bean for the cold brew? Either way, ended up at Dunkin next door, which made me sad, as I've made it a point to stop buying their coffee. C'est la vie

Boston is in a severe shortage of "sit and stay while drinking from a mug" coffee locations. It is so hard to find independent booksellers these days, but so important to support them.
