I used to be a huge Auntie Anne's pretzels fan until a friend got us started on Wetzel's many years ago. There is such a difference in taste, size and texture. The kids love Wetzel's. I want to thank my grandson for helping me write this review, as technology isn't exactly my strong suit. My wife and I were visiting the Irvine Spectrum for our anniversary, and we decided to stop by Wetzel's Pretzels--something we used to enjoy back in the day. Unfortunately, we were met with a very disappointing and disrespectful experience from a worker named Conner. I made sure to look at the name tags to remember who to write about. We were being charged extra for something we had already paid for and the young man Conner didn't offer any real customer service--no "sir" or "ma'am," just "dude" and "bro." It felt very unprofessional, and even while we were waiting in line, it looked like other customers were having issues as well. Thankfully, two other workers, Jasmine & Allen, quickly stepped in to fix the situation. They were polite, respectful, and handled things the right way. I want to make sure they are recognized for that. I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but my wife and I were shocked by how we were treated. I hope management sees this and makes some changes. Properly staffed. Double the # of staff for half the size store of its competitor. Friendly and happy team. They even stayed late -- continuing to bake beyond the official store closing time. The family and I stopped at the Irvine Spectrum on the way up to LA and out son wanted a snack so we stopped at one of his favorite places, Wetzels. His favorite is the pepperoni pizza pretzel or the pepperoni bites. Of course my go to is always the plain bites, they are a great grab and go snack to get me through the day. It was a pretty cold, rainy, and windy day Saturday. The employees were super nice and I was able to walk up, grab my order and go. Truthfully, I do not even want to give this location one star. The employees here need more hours of customer service training because I had the worst interaction the other night. For one, the cashier couldn't even get my order correct & ended up charging me $20 for 3 items when I told her specifically I wanted 2 items. Then she proceeded to ask her shift lead to come help her, in which she came in very aggressively asking me if I wanted to exchange the pretzel bites with a pretzel & ended up being very passive aggressive in her demeaning tone. (blue hair girl you know who you are.) Nonetheless, after they messed up my order & gave me the wrong 2/3 items, the lady referenced above proceeded to slam the door of the conventional oven where the pretzels are stored & stormed away. They are polite, always greet us with a smile (too bad I can't see it any more behind a mask but I could see it in their eyes). They give me a little more almond on top when I ask which is awesome. I love the cin-a-bitz here, but the latest drink 'Frozen Horchata' is not good at all. The texture is strange but the taste is worse, it tastes very fake and has a weird aftertaste.
