    1. The sampler definitely had good delicious options! The fries and pretzel also paired well with the sausages! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes with a hidden bar in the back! The bar area is roomy! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with our order! They brought the food to our table in about 15 mins! 4. There are indoor and outdoor seatings! Lots of tables available! 5. Parking garages and street parking are available! Spots in garages can be compact! Note: There are restrooms available for customers! Photo: Sausage Sampler, Belgian Fries, and Pretzel

    BRLO PALE for $10

Wursthaus is one of those place that its hard to not go so often where you are in down town Santa Ana area. The ambiance is chill and its great place to have few beers and great yummy small sausages. When we arrived, they were so welcoming and friendly. Belen E was the server who helped us with our sausages. We ordered 2 exotic Sausages Rattlesnake & Rabbit & Bison with Cheddar & Jalapeño (@$10.95/each) total $21.90 and HH fries for $3.50 as the side order. Karla R. (From recipe) helped us with 1 BRLO PALE for $10.00 on the bar. Overall, we enjoyed our night. The parking spots in front of the restaurant is few but in the same street there is a public parking which isn't free but it's worth to not waste time! Definitely, this is one of those place that its always in my to go list.

The location is a really cute and quiet area. When you walk in you can order, the back has seating and it has more of a bar vibe but you can also sit outside. The pretzel was really good, the bread was a nice fluffy style of bread. We got the shared sausage plate which I think was really worth it. We had three people and the 3 tester plate and a pretzel was more than enough for us. And this way you can try more than one sausage. We got three exotic flavors and all three were really good. My personal favorite was duck one highly recommend trying that one, you don't really taste the cilantro either.

This place was cool . We got there Sunday around 7:45pm pretty empty because they close at 9 . We also had to use the parking structure but didn't have to pay because we were within the hour and a half so it was free . Now for the important stuff -- we ordered the polish dog with a pretzel bun bell peppers and drunken onions ( caramelized ) ketchup , honey mustard and spicy brown are available at the counter. French fries with sauce and onions on top . Like animal style fries but much better- I didn't have any beer but they had several options - restrooms were also available which is great will be back for sure -

Total was $43 for a 3 sausage sampler, drunken fries, pretzel Chimay beer was $12 Dark and loud environment, good for groups cuz beer and fun environment. It may be a little hard to hear though. Chicken mango 4/5 This was tasty. Juicy and unique with a slight kick from the jalepeno. Smoked Hungarian Pass cuz nothing stood out too much about it Spicy polish Tastes like a polish dog .. the one from Costco I like better, seemed juicier with better snap? Pretzel 2/5 Texture is like fluffy bread with a malty flavor and crunch of pretzel salt. Not too much of a crust. Cheese sauce is light in color and isn't too cheesy but has enough flavor to keep dipping. Pretzel bun 4/5 Much better! This has a nice, browned crust and fluffy inside. Pretzel flavor throughout. I'd get another one of these with an order of the cheese sauce lol Drunken fries 2/5 Not crispy and texture is like soft potatoes . Stellar drunken caramelized onions, intensely sweet. Service They take your order at the front, you pay and tip there. If you want a beer you order at the back of the restaurant. Beer Bae liked so that's enough lol strawberry tastes like strawberry juice.

I would have loved to give 5 stars, but the bartender at the beer side in the back was a bit rude and unfriendly. But otherwise, Wursthaus was awesome! The sausages were delicious as was the chili fries. I also loved the German beer. I'll be going to Oktoberfest in Germany this year, so I was super excited to get my German beer palate ready. I must say the bread with the sausages was fantastic! I wish they would give another piece! Parking was a bit hard cause meters are only 2 hours, but we did find the parking structure super close and it's free for 2 hours and then they charge. I do wish the back area was more lit. Me and my friends went for the purpose of eating, drinking & playing board games. We ended up playing one game the whole time, and it was great as we had a little section to ourselves the whole time.

Best Belgian fries on this side of the hemisphere, they have a really good selection of beers and they're updated weekly, friendly staff will explain all the different beers and even let you try a splash of whatever beer you'd like to try, ten outta ten, do recommend. Ambience is welcoming and friendly.

The pretzel was awesome too, can't go wrong with beer cheese

Been wanting to come here for a while now and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Smoked Cheddar Brat in a pretzel roll and it was delicious. I had it topped with sauerkraut and drunken onions and they were great as well. I paired my meal with the strawberry beet, Frulli, which was very refreshing and complemented the meal well. I'm giving the place 4 stars only because my friend and I had both requested a "complimentary pickle available upon request" and neither of us received it, otherwise it would be 5 stars all around. The seating area in the back had a great ambiance, we loved dining here.

I've been to Wursthaus countless times before, but this was my first time trying their sausage sampler. I originally planned to go with my usual bratwurst, but after seeing their new Venison sausage -- and having had the Nurnberger at Oktoberfest the week prior -- I decided to go for all three. At first, I figured I'd take some leftovers home, but everything was too good to stop. Each sausage had its own distinct flavor, and I ended up finishing them all. The Nurnberger came out on top for me and will definitely be my pick going forward.

i have come here on many occasions after salsa classes & visiting night markets. i love the location being next to the parking structure. everytime i walk by, i think its this small little shop, but once you order (and sometimes there is a line, but it moves fast), you walk in the back to be seated and theres plenty of room + outdoor seating too! ive taken many friends here after salsa classes and everyone's always happy to have sausages and beer! THE ORDER: -smoked bratwurst ($8.55) for the classic section - flavorful, hot, and juicy. i usually go with a traditional grinder roll with drunken onions. im basic but always happy -drunken fries ($8) - fries are thick cut with a sauce similar to thousand island and the delicious IPA caramelized onions PROS: -vibes in the back -the variety & plentiful options on how to take your sausage -love the different price points for someone to enjoy a sausage -affordable -friendly staff -indoor/outdoor seating -restrooms never have a line -the sauces!!! BOMB -sells alcohol -food comes out quick CONS: -truthfully, none! OVERALL: next time im in the area you might see me back here with a good ol smoked bratwurst in hand and some delicious fries!! recommend if you enjoy sausages and want a laid back atmosphere

A real solid spot for all types of sausages and beer! We came across this spot accidentally as we were unsatisfied and still hungry from our pizza dinner at Loosie's across the street. The wait was kind of long with only two employees manning the grill and delivering meals to the tables. But the sign at the cashier did warn that this is not fast food and that everything is freshly prepared. So with all things good, a wait and patience is needed, but well worth the wait it was. The food side of the establishment connects to the bar side but we sat at the tables outside. We ordered an assorted sausage combo platter. I honestly can't remember all the flavors but I can say that everything was delicious! And, more importantly, that we will be back for more!

Man, another place that I kept meaning to try out and wish I did sooner. I used to drive up to LA to go to Wurstkuche and it's the same vibe here. And it's just a few miles from me. So as one would expect it's all about sausage here with a wide variety of flavors and styles. There's even vegetarian ones so no one is left out. To accompany then they have 3 times cooked Belgian fries with a variety of sauces. In the back of the house is the bar area featuring German and Belgian beers. Juan greeted me and made me feel right at home as a first timer. I will be back sooner than later.

    Two sampler platters and fries
    Amy L.

All my cravings in one place. Beer, pickles, and sausages. Dark little corner that's good for a late evening situation. The sampler is a great introduction to this place with 3 sausages, a roll, and unlimited side pickled items. It is a bit sneaky price-wise depending on which categories you choose your sausages from. I'd get it again, though. The fries were just so-so. I wish there were more shared plate type dishes on the menu. Bar service is in the back, and there's a decent variety. Overall, service was pretty quick. Plenty of street parking, but they do charge until 10pm.

I came in with friends and ordered a pitcher along with several shots. The server, a young white male, brought the shots and only one cup of beer. I immediately told him I had ordered a pitcher, but he insisted I never said that -- even though I had already been charged. To avoid arguing, I told him to just bring a pitcher and charge me again respectfully. He refused and told me I would have to go back and wait in line if I wanted one. When I asked to speak with a manager, he said the manager was unavailable. We later noticed him walking around the patio taking pitcher requests from other customers and bringing them directly to their tables without sending them back in line. We politely asked again, and he said "okay," but repeatedly ignored us, walking past our table multiple times. When my friend followed up, he suddenly claimed he couldn't serve us and again told us to get back in line. There was no clear reason for the difference in treatment. Watching others get served while we were repeatedly refused, despite being respectful customers, made the situation feel discriminatory. As Latino customers in a predominantly Latino community, the behavior came across as biased and unacceptable. It's extremely disappointing because I've supported this place for nearly a decade and had never experienced anything like this before. Unfortunately, this interaction completely changed my view of this establishment. I would not recommend coming here if respectful and fair service matters to you.

I wanted to share some comprehensive feedback regarding a recent experience, aiming to highlight both your successes and areas where further refinement could elevate the customer journey even further. First and foremost, I must commend your team for their exceptional warmth and hospitality. From my initial phone call to the moment I picked up my order, I felt genuinely welcomed and valued. This level of customer service, which often feels lacking in many establishments today, truly sets American Grub apart. It creates a welcoming atmosphere that significantly enhances the overall experience, and I sincerely hope this commitment to friendliness remains a cornerstone of your operation. However, I encountered a couple of points that, in my personal opinion, warrant consideration for improvement. Regarding the payment process, I felt a degree of apprehension about providing my credit card details over the phone. While I understand the operational need to secure orders and prevent potential losses, particularly for larger transactions, for a single item like my bacon cheeseburger, priced at $17.24 including tax, this practice felt somewhat disproportionate. I also noted the 99-cent fee for online payments, which, while minor, might deter some customers who are seeking convenience without additional charges. Perhaps exploring alternative secure payment links for phone orders or adjusting the fee structure for smaller transactions could enhance customer comfort and streamline the process. My primary concern, however, arose upon returning home. Despite ordering a bacon cheeseburger, I discovered the burger completely lacked bacon, as well as any form of sauce or mayonnaise. This oversight had a significant impact on the meal; the absence of these core components rendered the burger quite bland and far from the experience I had anticipated. When ordering a single item, the expectation for meticulous attention to detail is particularly high, as there are fewer variables. Consequently, the overall value of the meal, given the missing ingredients, was not quite met on this occasion. I did reach out to the owner privately via email to discuss these points, and I appreciate their responsiveness and transparency in addressing my feedback, particularly concerning the rationale behind the phone payment policy. It is reassuring to know that your business is open to customer input. My hope is that these observations can serve as constructive input, allowing American Grub to continue refining its excellent service and product quality. I remain a supporter of your local endeavor and look forward to seeing these aspects addressed. Thank you for reaching out. To clarify, all my reviews and communications are crafted solely from my personal experiences and genuine perspectives, not AI. Every word and insight you read is authentically mine, driven by my commitment to provide honest feedback. I've been there with just my husband many times, as well as a small group (4). ALWAYS in the dining room, not the bar. She reluctantly seated me in the dining room and there were 2 booths that had only 2 people!!j Throughout our dinner, she commented "You guys are still here?!" "You guys have been here forever!" It was NOT busy or full and not near closing time. There were no "large parties". After I left for a few minutes, my friend told me that Carrie commented AGAIN about how long we were there (we had appetizers, dinner, dessert and tea!) And said it was slow that night but if it was busy as it normally is, she "would have had to kick us out"!!!! And she "just wanted us to know that". Also, the people who were already there when I got seated were "still there" the whole time we were!! I wonder if she said anything to them?? This was my friend's first visit to The Olde Ship. She loved the food and ambiance but said the service ruined it for her.
