I stopped by this Wetzel's Pretzels located inside the Santa Anita Mall whatever they're calling it nowadays. I've had Auntie Anne's and also had Wetzel's at other places as well. I have to say the pretzel that I got was amazing. I love the cinnamon option. It was very buttery at the base and also the cinnamon added a great churro like bite to eat, and it was great. I wasn't really sure how to line up and the line really isn't that intuitive but it all worked out in the team member there had to man in the tire booth by herself and she did a great job and she was coming out with orders fairly regularly. Be sure to join their rewards club. It is a little bit weird where on my android it wouldn't work, but then on the iPhone it worked fine and a lot of hiccups. Even with a 15% off coupon I was surprised at how expensive these pretzels were. I paid over $15 for two pretzels which is crazy especially because they were already a little hard and not as chewy as they should be. COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. All of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open to customers at limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between customers. While I was checking out what this establishment had to offer today, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: This establishment is located inside the Westfield Santa Anita mall. There are plenty of parking available during the pandemic. Prepandemic parking was hell. They need to make some underground parking garages or above ground parking garages to accommodate all of the people trying to shop at this mall. It sucked having to circle the lot for like 20 minutes just for a parking spot. Store & Food: The store here is pretty clean, neat, and tidy. I got myself a Wetzel Dog. Pretty bomb. Located downstairs in front of H&M and JC Penny. I appreciated how patient the cashier was as I was indecisive on what to get. Almond pretzel or pizza pretzel bites or pretzel dog bites - too many options for a pretzel lover!! I ended up opting for a savory pretzel and got the pizza pretzel bites ($6 something after tax). The cup is pretty big and filled to the top. They were already pre-made and sitting in the salamander in the front but were still nice and warm. There was a good amount of cheese and pepperoni on every bite, but they weren't quite as soft as I would've liked. Towards the end it got a bit hard to chew as they cooled down, but still tasty! I almost never write reviews but service was rude and awful. We ordered a simple order of two Cinnabitz. Person behind us ordered a more complicated one. They got mixed up and gave us her split bag order. They asked us to trade after we already opened our bags and touched the food. The other person left with their extra food and I was standing there with half of what I ordered. When I asked them to give me the other bag I paid for, the guy behind the counter demands my receipt. So I have to dig through the pile of dirty receipts left on their counter to find mine to prove that I paid for two. There was only two orders after me. The cashier is looking at me blank. I am not sure whether the company is to blame or its employee. I saw on Westfield website that Wetzel's Pretzels is offering a BOGO Free promotion: Buy any one pretzel, hot dog, or bitz and get an original pretzel for free. I was taking my 2-year-old to the play area and shortly after we got there I realized I was super hungry. I remembered about the promo so pulled up the web info since you are required to show the ad in order to get the promo. I approached the kiosk, conveniently located right in front of the play area where we already were, and showed the employee the ad, implying that was what I wanted. She told me the promo is buy the (cinnamon) bitz and get the original pretzel for free. I looked at the menu - the bitz is $5.99, and the original pretzel is $3.99. It didn't sound right to me, so I looked at the ad again carefully. It clearly said ANY pretzel, hot dog or bitz purchase. I told the employee that's not what the ad said. She said the information on the ad was wrong and that her register was set up and will only allow her the option of bitz purchase to get the free original pretzel. Feeling misled, I left. But I was not happy about it, because I thought that was false advertising and some kind of bait and switch, AND, I was still very hungry. So I decided to call the mall to let them know about the inaccurate info on their web ad. Didn't know who to talk to, I selected the Concierge. I explained to the Concierge what happened and to my surprise she offered me a pretzel on her! That was a very nice surprise. (Unlike Auntie Anne's, you can pick whatever pretzel style and type you like). Other than that, the pretzels are always hot and fresh, especially, the ones I want. My favorites are either the Wetzel Dogs (either the large hotdog pretzel or the mini hotdogs) or Wetzel Bitz (Pepperoni mainly). I also do like that if you buy those, you get more since they come in a bag as opposed to Auntie Anne's that come in cup. Service: Can be a hit and miss. Flavored Pretzel - $3.89 - I got almond and sour cream & onion. The base pretzel was nice and chewy. The flavorings are ok but not that great. I would prefer a plain or salted pretzel over the flavors. Pepperoni Twist Pretzel - $4.19 - Same pretzel as above with pepperoni. Wetzel Bitz - $4.99 - Costs more then a normal pretzel but the amount of pretzel you get is more. Prices are more expensive then Auntie Anne's. Usually, I love coming here to get my Pepperoni pretzel. They are soooo good and hit the spot while shopping and browsing around. However, today I ordered something different-a jalapeno cheese pretzel dog-and the bottom was totally burnt! I didn't notice until I got it out of the wrapper and noticed the charred bottom! Im sorry this has little to NO pretzel taste whatsoever. Just like formed baked dough. Last month I was at the mall with a friend... she bought me a pretzel from another proprietor in the mall. It was absolutely delicious and buttery tasting I don't recall having extra butter or anything on it. I went to Wetzels Pretzels on Tuesday May 14th around 7:15 pm and asked the girl behind the counter for a cup of ice and she stared at me for a while and said that she wasn't aloud to give it to me. Im a regular and have received a cup of Ice more than once before from this booth. So I asked the guy working with her for a small cup of ice and he said he's not aloud to give it to me and that there is a sign that says so. I asked him where is the sign and he said that the sign was removed. I then asked him for The managers name and number and he said that he doesn't have it. While we were waiting the guy took out his black I phone and took my picture after I took theirs. Since they weren't wearing name badges. Then after a while the young man came over to wait on us and my sister asked for the managers name and contact information and he said that he doesn't have it, then he said I have it, but I'm not going to give it to you and started to go back and forth arguing with my sister, telling us that we are on camera, amongst other things. The young lady eventually turned around and my sister then asked her politely for a cup of water and she refused. I then said okay, I'll buy some cinnamon pretzel bites for a small cup of ice water and the young lady still refused to include it in my order. The young man said if you brought a cup with you then I could give it to you. I then said okay can I buy a cup for the ice water and he said no, there has to be soda in it.
