Still the most legitimate ancient grain bakery in Napa. And it isn't a Instagram spot just a great and breaducation foodie spot Coming here is like connecting to the history of food... namely breads... a staple of every culture but in different forms... on our planet as survival.. Owner is a former EL school teacher turned dedicated skilled baker. Trained by the best in nearby famed Firebrand Berkeley bakery then at Model Bakery. Khorasan grain is the choice grain at West Won. And most always sourdough in each bread baked in their ovens The crunch to their chocolate croissants beat most and there is a slightly nuttier taste to it. Fan of the sourdough loaf with sesame crust And the very dense healthier Khorasan loaf only available Saturdays which is lovely toasted and used in a sandwich or plain with butter. This art of baking costs the consumer more because of the work involved Like other ancient grains it takes up to 18 hrs to prepare and bake this type of bread. It is a more complex bread and not your typical "white fluffy bread" or "Parisian style" bread touting soft white bouncy interiors. This bread is sometimes crusty and dense and at times more substantial and fibrous. It is known for its large kernels, rich nutty flavor, and higher nutritional content compared to modern wheat, offering more protein, fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals. Its sweet, nutty, buttery flavor was attracting interest from pasta makers, bakers, and consumers alike. Some consumers who thought they were sensitive to modern wheat began reporting that this ancient wheat variety seemed easier to digest, improves insulin resistance in diabetics, and causes less gastrointestinal distress or inflammation than they typically experienced with wheat products

They seem to have run out of stock on many varieties and the whole wheat loaf they gave us did not seem to match our understanding of that type of bread. Anyway bread was not too bad in taste. Charged us $1 for slicing and that by a machine seemed atrocious. Hope others have a better experience

A cute little bakery with delicious pastries, and unforgettable coffee just a short walk down from the Napa scene. I thoroughly enjoyed coming here multiple days while visiting downtown Napa.

Nice little find in Napa for baked goods - especially sourdough bread. One of the very few establishments that will offer to have bread sliced (for an additional dollar) and well worth it. Thank you for the service and sourdough find, West Won!

We always pass by this area and we always wanted to try it so yesterday, July 18 around 12:30 we visited the place to try their bread.. Not much to see inside, it was basically so quiet, not enough displayed bread to choose from but we tried Ham and Cheese Croissant and Chocolate Croissant.. For the price of $6.50 it was quite expensive .. The taste? ok not something special.. Bread was cold and hard like it's been on display for a day or two, meaning it isn't fresh... I wanna give 5 stars to the awesome customer service, the lady who attended to us was very friendly... Anyways, hopefully they have more variety of bread to choose from..

We saw West Won at the Martinez Farmer's Market on Easter Sunday. Got an Olive Bread and a Whole Wheat Loaf - loved both. The person running the booth was fantastic and super nice.

we stopped by these bakery on a Friday morning on our way to winetasting in Napa Valley. This was my first time. There was plenty of parking. The bakery had many types of bread for sale, as well as pastries, cookies, and drinks. We ordered four sandwiches to go, a baguette, a poppyseed, coffee, cake, and four cookies with a raspberry jam. Everything was very good, however, the star of the show was the baguette. The baguette was crusty on the outside and had a very good flavor. We did not order any coffee because they only had drip coffee at that time. They also have outdoor seating.

Bookmark West Won for their pastries and finally stop by to try some ! Paid with cash with a small discount Everything we got was pretty good -the chocolate croissant was huge in size , buttery flaky with a good chew but wish there was a bit more chocolate ! Same with the apple danish needed more apple pieces ! Worth a try but don't think I'll come back !

    Avo toast

Amazing Avo toast! We came 2 mornings in a row. If you want to avoid the downtown crowds and prices and have amazing fresh sourdough, come here

Coffee and pastries are next level!

Visited Napa this weekend and stopped by West Won Bread. Best bread I have ever had! The pastries and breakfast sandwich were awesome! They make a mean cappuccino as well! love this place! The staff were friendly and accommodating. The owner was there making bread and he came out to greet us and tell us about his products and his journey that lead him to opening his own shop. It was a great experience.

Avocado toast, and an iced latte

Great avocado toast and iced latte! Excellent service too! I sat outside for a little bit. It was nice.

    Avocado toast w/burrata... delicious!

This very popular counter service cafe is very popular for good reason. The food is amazing. I am so happy to we chose to go here while visiting Napa for a few days. It's worth visiting Napa just to go to Winston's in my humble opinion. The waits can be long to get in and order and maybe even long to get a table, but it's worth it. Also, this place is a great community establishment and helps out the local pet shelter to help find homes for dogs. They even have coloring pages with crayons of adoptable dogs at the Napa shelter. My wife and I ordered two breakfast places and two pastries on our visit. The salmon salad plate was our healthy plate, which was really tasty and fresh. The true standout for me is their pork Belly Loco Moco. I never seem to love a loco moco plate, but I like them. They are typically served with a beef patty. Let me just say that this is a perfect plate of food. The pork belly melts in your mouth and has a delicious hoisin sauce drizzled on it. The eggs and pickled veggies god great with the pork belly, but there is also this wonderful gravy on the plate which is like a chicken gravy. It's so ridiculously good. I can't say enough good things about this plate and how much it works together in balance and harmony. We also tried their toasted Coconut donut, which is a glazed yeast donut with toasted coconut flakes. It was very good! But the dessert standout was the chocolate pistachio muffin. This was so moist, buttery and rich with chocolate and nuttiness. So delicious! I also want to add that I love the ambiance of Winston's and its lovely decor. This is a real gem of a place!

Our table wasn't properly cleared , some dishes were removed before our food arrived, but the remaining ones weren't taken away until after, and the table was never wiped down between. As for the food, I'd give it a 3/5. The chorizo in my omelet was overly salty, not in a seasoned way, but genuinely too much to enjoy. The potatoes also tasted like they had been fried multiple times, possibly to reheat, which left them with an off flavor.

There's a lot of bustle here during the brunch rush but once you're seated it's easy to relax and enjoy yourself. The place is large but just small enough to still feel cozy. I don't usually order dishes I've never heard of before, but when our server read the Turkish Eggs special and mentioned the yogurt, dill, salmon, and poached eggs, I couldn't say no! I was pleasantly surprised by how well the smoked salmon and yogurt dill sauce went together, made better by the runny yolk of a perfectly poached egg. I would absolutely go back just for that special. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, though you can only get so excited about pancakes. Lightly toasted, they develop the perfect crunch on the outside while staying soft and airy inside. Honestly, all they need is butter. They're great on their own, even better with oatmeal and coffee Croissant (4.5/5): really solid croissant. Soft, buttery, and clearly made with care. I'll admit, I was a little worried before booking because of some of the reviews I had read. But after staying here, I can honestly say those concerns didn't match my experience at all. Whatever issues others may have had, they certainly weren't part of our stay. The location is hard to beat. Being right along the Napa River makes a huge difference. Morning coffee by the water with the walking path just steps away sets the tone for the whole day. It feels peaceful and tucked away, yet you're still within easy walking distance to downtown Napa's tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable without feeling overly fancy or pretentious. The bed was great, the bathroom was well-appointed, and I appreciated the little details that made the stay feel thoughtful. If you can get a river-facing room, it's worth it. The outdoor spaces are really what make this place special. There's something about sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine, watching the river drift by, that just feels very "Napa." Service was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The staff really stood out -- especially the woman working in the café in the morning. She was warm, upbeat, and genuinely made the start of the day feel special. It's those small personal touches that elevate a stay from good to memorable. Another big plus: they offer free EV charging, which was a great perk and made the trip even more convenient. It's always nice to see properties thinking about sustainability and guest convenience at the same time. It also shares a parking lot with San Francisco's famous The Slanted Door, which makes grabbing an incredible meal ridiculously easy. Having that level of dining right next door is a huge bonus. If you're looking for a luxury mega-resort, this isn't that -- and that's a good thing. River Terrace Inn feels intimate, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring Napa without being in the middle of chaos. Would absolutely stay here again.

Upon arrival there is no one to help (or no one offered to help) with luggage. I only had one bag but my friend had a few and it was a hassle. We booked two queens and requested river view, however BUYER BEWARE none of the queen rooms view river. All of them face a parking lot. When we checked in we first went to the queen room and we had to go. For $600 a night to face a parking lot and on outskirts of downtown it was the same quality as a Best Western. Honestly I've been to better Best Westerns. We decided to move rooms to get the view so we ended up sharing a King. My friend was going to use sofa bed but when she pulled out the bed it was made and had a ton of hair on it (maybe pet hair?). Some pros: The river walk area is nice. View of Napa river right off bar could be a nice place to unwind. Another pro is that the manager was super kind and helpful to my friend when we moved rooms, even walking her to the room to ensure it was ok. Overall the price is terrible for quality, but the staff are helpful and kind and they are the reason for any stars.
