Service is OK. Food is AMAZING. The best Tavern on Pearl but still misses 5 stars for me. I think service is slow from time to time and my order has been screwed up on occassion. read more

I have had so-so service on the rooftop before but this place does not just offer me service. They offer me hospitality. Awesome bartenders. Kind, knowledgeable, and i just like to go there to have a pint. Good place, good people. big red F is on to something.... read more

Best whiskey selection in town, with great tap selection too. Bartenders are very knowledgeable and happy to help. Service has always been the best in town. And the food... Amazing. Hands down my favorite go to place in Boulder. The rooftop patio is fabulous in the summer! read more

This place was perfect for a late lunch. We started with the cornbread which was sweet and yummy. The burgers were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious, along with the home cut fries. The great service paired with such amazing food and ambiance is definitely going to have me making the trip from WillVill to come back again! read more

Came here for the wings that I saw on man vs food, they looked so delicious on TV. I had wings at a place called Vendetta's in Vail earlier in the day that just about knocked my socks off so I was anxious to compare being the connoisseur that I am. First of all, the wings were rather small, and very dry. Definitely could've used another coating in the sauce before coming out. The taste, I would say, was average. The wings I had earlier in the day in Vail were not only a better value, but WAY better. $9 for half a dozen average wings is just way too much. What I did love was the beer selection. Very nice variety of local Colorado beers at a decent enough price point. I would come back for this alone. My server was a female named Megan I think, she did a great job and was very personable. read more

Burgers were pretty good, not great.,... We had the veggie burger and the double double. Beer tasting cost 30 cents... I'm not s penny pincher, but I am a student, and that's a bit out of the ordinary.... Poor form in my humble opinion. read more

Great spot. Really nice bar scene, big wooden classic bar and great staff behind it. Good cocktail list and very solid beers. TV's. The smell of smoking meat hits you as soon as you come in. Southern/BBQ menu cooked in their own smoker out back. Brisket was great. read more

EVE is the absolute sweetest, most attentive server! Always great food. Love the burgers, the wings, obviously were he drinks...can't decide if I love this west end or the Berkeley neighborhood one better! read more

I have been here multiple times and the food is incredible. Do not let that undermine the service which is exceptional. Tonight my wife and I dined with the server: Melissa. She is phenomenal. We are a picky bunch let me tell you! She was so attentive and kind. This is the exact reason we like to dine out. We feel like our needs were met but more importantly we felt like we met a friend. Karen(my wife) and I will be coming here every weekend that we can. If you are in Boulder this is the place to go! Get a burger you won't regret it;) read more

We went with six people and were promptly seated mid day on a Saturday. We were seated upstairs, unfortunately in a corner. The upstairs has plastic windows, which were very cold in the winter. They would be great in the summer but not so much in the winter. The food was amazing! We had French dip, the tavern burger, crispy sticky chicken, and the brisket. All were really amazing and I would recommend. The only reason for 4 stars was the cold temp.... Would have been a more enjoyable experience if it was warmer. read more

Such a great falafel burger, it's pretty vegetarian friendly for a place that focuses on BBQ/meat. They also have a great bar and patio seating! read more

Price, food, service and atmosphere combined... this spot definitely worth five stars. Great beer selection and the smoked meat is done right. The rooftop patio is more than I would have asked for. The menu has a great selection but is not annoyingly large. Service is excellent. Just eat here read more

Delicious homemade food, wonderful staff that tries their best to make me and my family happy, and they have pretty solid options for children. Don't even get me started on the bar service or I'm going to end up with another headache tomorrow! read more

The view of the flatirons is gone, but the beer is cold and my son enjoyed his dirty wings. It's too bad the high rise buildings ruined the view. read more

I like this authentic Boulder local real deal place. But what is lacking is authentic service with some servers. What is it with young women who talk to you but won't look at you. Do they not have social skills or have they abandoned what they learned as a kid? When you have a job meeting the public, you will make more money, have more fun if you are nice and friendly to people, especially your customers! read more

A long time staple in the downtown Boulder community. The West End Tavern is a nostalgic feel good watering hole with a great Bbq lead menu. A must experience for anyone traveling through town. read more

I've come here twice in the past few weeks because I was meeting friends. I've been here between 5-10 times over the past 5 years. I like the location and I like the general vibe for late-night (usually pretty busy and lively crowd). However, the food and drinks are just OK. I've had their bbq sandwich, chips, burger, and loaded fries. Nothing bad, but nothing to write home about either. My biggest complaint is that the last two times I went, I saw either the bartender or waitress "sample" the drinks. My friend ordered a glass of nice whiskey and we saw the bartender taste it with a straw. The second time I was there, I saw the waitress try my vodka tonic. Hmm. It would be one thing if the bartender was trying it to make sure the drink tasted right, but that doesn't seem to be what is going here. I'll go to the West End when my friends want to meet, but I'll suggest elsewhere if given the chance. read more

Sarah the bartender is awesome. Tell her what you like, and she'll invent something amazing. Seriously. read more

Everything we ordered was delicious; grilled cheese, field green salad, steak sandwich. The redstone black raspberry mead is delicious, the rotating beer list is great too. Pretty competitively priced. Service was great and laid back ambience! The upstairs patio is great! Mountain views and beautiful planters on the ledges. read more

West End Tavern - Delicious mead and Pilsner :) amazing rotating beer list. - New American Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

We stumbled on this place after a long morning of farmer's marketing with small children. As non-locals we weren't sure where to go so we checked out the menus at a couple places. Nothing looked good until we saw this menu and immediately walked right in. From the start, it was a fantastic experience... A random server (who ended up being ours, and she was fantastic) high-fived the kids as we walked by, and then they seated us on their beautiful rooftop deck. We ordered Mac n Cheese for the kids, and they loved it. We got the Green Chile Goat Cheese appetizer and one of the kids said she would like to live in a bathtub filled with it. All the grown-ups agreed. I ordered the Tavern Burger which was cooked perfectly medium and placed between a buttery brioche roll with some of their delicious house pickles...the fries were perfect and crispy and salty. My friend had the fish and chips which were light and crispy with a delicious sauce. My friend's husband ate the pulled pork nachos and licked his plate. Our experience was superior from start to finish. Eat here!!!! read more

Mediocre. Our food was ok, but they screwed up the order and one dish had a hair in it. F'ing Marg, their signature margarita, was the only thing good. But, I did get a timely and generous follow up to my review so I appreciate the customer service and going the extra mile. I'll go back for the margarita. read more

Beware of eating the collard greens if you are a vegetarian as it is laden with bacon which was unknown to us. Why they don't bother listing that fact on the menu or make sure each server is versed in informing the diner, I don't know. Seems like a simple enough addition. The manager did not appear very concerned when we told her that we were vegetarians and had just been dosed with meat due to their negligence. Other than that issue, it is in a great location and lovely to sit up on the roof and not be enclosed by walls. read more

While looking for a place to eat on our stay in Boulder, we came across The West End Tavern while driving around. I really enjoyed my fish and chips while my husband liked his burger. Recommend for a dinner spot. Our waiter was very nice and I enjoyed the decor in the restaurant. read more

This place is unbelievable. It's summertime so get a table on the back patio. This restaurant serves a lot of people so be patient. You're drinks will come, your food will come. Enjoy the view, spend time with your family or friends while your waiting. The drinks and food are gonna be really good, so relax. Enjoy. The dude that owns this place is all about family, he's been doing it for years. If there was any way that anything could come out faster it would've been worked out years ago. Restaurants get busy, the kitchen gets busy, the bartenders get busy. Realize that fact. Have a good time and enjoy this restaurant. It's really worth the wait!!!! read more

The burnt ends are out of this world. I was disappointed that they only have IPAs on tap during the month of July, and the fries were a little heavy on the salt/seasoning. The goat cheese fondue is a great appetizer and the pulled pork was good (but still will recommend the burnt ends 10 times out of 10). read more

Love the roof top setting when it's nice out. The burnt ends are delicious! The service is always great too

Had a nice lunch here on our first trip to Boulder. They smoke on premises and we had a smoked meat sandwich and a smoked trout sandwich. Both were very good and portions were generous. That have a vast selection of beers and whiskeys. I wished it was later to have some bourbons. We'd definitely return. read more

Awesome spot. Chill atmosphere with an awesome happy hour. Great deals during happy hour for food and drinks. Solid beer selection and the staff is super attentive and on top of everything. Definitely would come back here. Its a shame the rooftop wasn't open when I was there because I'm sure that would have been icing on the cake for me. read more

Great place. Great atmosphere, great music. We had the platter for 2 which is easily enough for 3. Meat was cooked beautifully, especially the brisket which was tender and juicy. Great range of beers, and an amazing range of whiskeys (and whiskys too). You can create a tasting flight of any of the hundreds of whiskeys behind the bar. I don't know how the bartender remembers where to find them all. Good service too. The crowds just kept rolling in while we were there so I suggest you book ahead. read more

Great little pub for drinks and burgers. Good selection of craft cocktails and so many wiskeys!

Amazing brisket, goat cheese fondue and burnt ends. The fennel in the cole slaw not my thing. But their homemade pickles great taste. The House BBQ sauce was fabulous. If you don't like mustard don't try the Carolina BBQ sauce. All in all the Best meal I've had since visiting Boulder. I will definitely be back. Great service and food read more

We are from out of state and stopped by the West End Tavern while we were in Boulder. Eating on the roof, with great food and music with family made for the perfect afternoon! Loved the whole setup, drinking quality beer with a great view. read more

My new favorite spot! Cutest outdoor dinning, and the BEST mac and cheese. Definitely a must do in Boulder.

eahhh. Not bad, but just ok. The food was pretty good for bar food... the service was slow. Rooftop. There was a band area downstairs. The people I encountered in this place, the day I went, were kind of snotty. It's probably a better spot for 23-year-olds trying to be glam. I think that's probably their target audience. read more

I really enjoyed the food at the West End Tavern. The Smoked Portobello Dagwood was really delicious- since becoming a vegetarian I have really missed this smokey flavor. I subbed the fries for the sweet corn & butter bean succotash and am SO happy I did. This was one of the yummiest sides I've ever had. The beer list was good. My only complaint was that it took a very long time to be served initially, however they made up for it later on by being extra attentive. read more

Nice but slow service. We sat on the enclosed-for-winter roof patio, which was alternately chilly or burning your head hot from the overhead lamps that just cranked out heat like a miniature sun that was too damn close to my head. I thought my hair might catch on fire. They had a decent beer selection on tap and they were happy to split our check. I think it would be better in summer, so I might come back and check it out. Standard prices, nothing great and nothing too bad. read more

Looks cool from the outside, good music & service, but food was a little subpar. Maybe just caught them on a bad night, but pulled pork was somehow watery. I'm not even that picky about barbecue, but wasn't what I was expecting. Sides of beans and collards were very good. read more

Excellent tavern burger. Pair with Left Hand Milk Stout. The Brisket was just as good.

I have been going to the West End for 10 years, probably eaten here at least 200 times, maybe close to 300. Consistently good but I wanted to say, during this troubled time (virus), we decided to do carry out to show our support and have some great food. Ordering was pretty easy over the phone and pick up was super easy, parked right up front. Food made it home still hot and delicious. I would encourage folks to show their support, get some great carry out (you know wings will keep and can be heated up in the oven). read more
