Exploring my daughter's stomping grounds in Brooklyn and she insisted we have lunch at this dive joint......, Very strange menu, kinda Japanese, Mexican, other fusion Really enjoyed my Teriyaki Chicken Bowl with mixed cabbage, veggies and rice. The Brooklyn's Best brand tea needs nationwide distribution. NYC is full of great dives, add Warude to the list!

First time checking either of their locations, so excited to have this place in Crown Heights. Had them on my list forever at their original location. Easy takeout, just make sure you confirm address before ordering. When I searched on Google, I could only find the Bed Stuy location. Food made super quickly, before estimated time which is very impressive - barely 10 minutes. Was able to cancel my accidental order easily by phone thanks to the friendly staff member answering the phone. The warude ramen has a nice spice and plenty of flavor, lots of umami flavor. 1 whole seasoned egg included. Generous portion of corn and seaweed. Favorite part is the noodles, thick and wavy with a really good bite, perfectly cooked. The grilled chicken was also flavorful and very tender, with some skin on it, my fave! They have a drinks menu, and a decent variety of drinks to go like Brooklyn Best and kombucha. Handful of counter seats, surprisingly spacious and warm inside even on a cold blustery day! Definitely coming back to try their shrimp/zucchini and maybe teriyaki

I got takeout for this place and they have a nice little pick up window which is nice! They were quick with the service and cashier was nice. The food was pretty good as well! chicken was tender and there was some sauce at the bottom of the bowl under the rice that I liked. Egg was nice regular scrambled eggs. Was a clean and lighter meal but very filling. Would definitely go back again!

Bedstuy buzz makes its way to the Hill. Solid micro-spot for some flavorful bowls, ramen and extras. Warude's original branch is on the lively of liveliest BK streets: Tompkins Ave. If I'm not in Crown Heights l, I'm over there.. so it was refreshing to see the sign first pop up. Great handmade paint job on the outside gives Nostrand Ave some needed color and pop. There is some bar seating outside which is nice, but the south facing wall gets hit heavy by the summer sun. I appreciate all the little details and color awareness of the place. They have a nice selection of rice bowls and ramens, with the token vegan option. Full disclosure I've only tried that. The rice was super tasty and well made. I enjoyed to tofu, but the veggies were a bit lacking for me. Few well cooked squash and some cabbage was nice, but for the price point I think some more produce would have made it a stronger plate. It was a bit saucy, but I added some complimentary spice and enjoy the shade of the little tree out front. Glad for the team to be so successful to branch out to another neighborhood. Definitely a welcome flavor addition to the area. Wishing the team success!

The menu is pretty diverse with various appetizers, sushi, and also ramen/curry so your standard izakaya fare. One of my favorite dishes here has been the chirashi. The fish was very fresh and it's pretty affordable. I've only ever been here in groups of two and I probably would recommend it for smaller groups because the space itself is small and most of the tables are two-seaters if I recall correctly.

It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute. If I have a craving for some decent Japanese food, I would drive 20 minutes here for a meal anytime.

First: got combo B which was the perfect amount for 2 people since it included an appetizer, 2 ramens, 2 desserts and 2 drinks. Left very filled and happy. Would highly recommend their lemonade and Thai tea! The popcorn chicken is more batter than chicken, so it's good if you like more of a crunch. The tonkotsu and miso ramens were good, but not particularly notable. Kyuramen is a chain after all, so the food quality gives that same vibe as comforting when you're just craving some. Second: Got the yakitori platter, beef ramen (seasonal) and curry ramen and I'd personally pass on all of them. Their meats are over cooked which makes them tough. Both times the service was fine, I appreciate the call button so both don't have to wait for awkward timing issues. I do like the aesthetic of the place, especially with the privacy of the room shades/dividers. p.s. don't forget their slurp and win program! When you drink all the broth, there's a word on the bottom (or not) where you can get a free popcorn chicken/drink/etc for your next visit. I thought the chances would be pretty slim, but I got a drink voucher my second time!

The first time I tried it, the flavors were fine, but nothing really stood out enough to write home about. This time around, I ordered takeout, and overall I was genuinely impressed. The noodles were cooked perfectly, with just the right texture. Both the tonkotsu and the miso broths were rich, flavorful, and had a satisfying kick of spice. The pork slices were tender and tasty, and I really didn't have any complaints about the bowl as a whole. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the best ramen in all of New York City, but it was definitely better than average and very enjoyable. The price felt fair for the quality and portion size, and I left feeling like it was money well spent. It's absolutely worth stopping in if you're in the area. Also, don't skip the boba from the shop next door. It's surprisingly good and makes for a great addition to your meal. Definitely give it a try.
