I didn't want to do this but the woman at the register with the Bob was so rude and just nasty, I had too. So, I order from this restaurant all the time like seriously. As of last year I started ordering extra ginger and wasabi ( because I absolutely love it) The first two times I asked, I made sure to ask if it was extra and two different employees told me no. One being her, which I wouldn't have a problem paying for it if I had too, just to be clear. It's not about the money but the service as well. I'm not eating, supporting, or promoting a place that disrespects me, and or makes me feel uncomfortable or unwanted. ESPECIALLY IF I SENSE RACISM!!!! (If you ever seen the movie Booty call with Jamie Foxx, or Menace to society , she acted exactly like that "hurry up and buy lady") Anyways.... I tend to order three or more sushi rolls so I'll ask for extra soy as well. Today I decided to order and everything went great! I got off work went straight in paid tipped said thank you and left. When I got home to unwrap my meal I noticed that I wasn't given the extras that I asked for. So I called spoke to the same lady that took my order, asked her if I can come in to get some and she said sure no problem. I head back to the store and the moment she realized it was me her face turned evil but I payed it no mind. She takes another guest money and hands her her food. I go to ask her if she needed my receipt to see my order and she tells me no but then tells me next time I owe them money because she didn't charge me. So I'm confused because the wording was just off. I asked her what she meant and she repeated herself but adding in the chef said he added it already and I'm asking for too much so next time I'll have to pay. My neck damn near fell off my shoulders. I had no idea where this attitude was coming from so I asked her if this was a new policy and started to tell her I order this all the time and you never charged me before, but before I can finish she turns her back on me grabs what I asked for hands it to me and tells me "next time next time you pay you pay." At that very moment I realized I will NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN NOR WILL I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE ELSE LIKE I HAVE DONE FOR YEARS! This was completely disrespectful and left a bad taste in my mouth. It was great while it lasted but they lost A BUNCH customers today ! Here's a picture of what I was given. Would y'all say this was extra or enough for three sushi rolls?

Sushi & Sashimi Lunch combo with spicy tuna roll

Ordered delivery from Yamashiro for lunch through Postmates. Unfortunately I got the wrong order! Mistakes happen though, and I'm pretty sure it was Postmates's fault and not the restaurant's. The good news was that everything was still something I would eat, and was really good! The sushi and sashimi lunch combo is a solid amount of food. There were only three kings of fish included, so I wish there had been a little more variety. The star of the show for me was the spicy tuna, which was along the better I've had. The rock shrimp tempura was good, but it doesn't travel especially well. By the time the food arrived, the tempura had lost its crisp. The taste was definitely there though. Overall, I'd order from Yamashiro again. Hopefully I'll get to try the thing I actually ordered next time.

After walking by this place with our dog, we noticed a crowd and a delicious smell wafting. We decided to come back a few days later and were surprised to find the restaurant was bigger than expected! It overflowed into the back, with quaint music and a little waterfall. Ambiance was quickly approved! We ordered the house sake to share (and got another later to go with dessert). We were really hungry and started off with the Tuna Tataki ($11) which we sadly forgot to take a picture of. Again, super hungry, and it looked delish. It was perfectly seasoned, not too salty but ample pepper. There was a lovely vermicelli noodle salad underneath that was actually edible and delicious! So many vermicelli noodle bases at other places are just for show and too hard to eat. You could tell they marinated their noodles and meant them to be eaten. Bravo. After eating our app, we then placed the rest of our order. We wanted to wait since we were so famished and didn't want to over order! My partner ordered the Yaki Soba with Beef, and we ordered two special rolls to share - Mango Dancing Roll and Yamashiro Wasabi Roll. The soba noodles was an ample portion which we considered taking half home to leave room to order some sashimi, but he loved it so much, he devoured it all. The two special rolls were abundant in size and had 8 pieces each. Both were sooo flavorful and full of texture, a necessity to make sure you're not just eating mush. Our favorite was definitely the mango roll, it had so much flavor and the crunchy spicy tuna and yellowtail were just... wow. The other roll was an entirely different flavor palette with whole fish pieces, so they complimented each other really well. We had planned to order more, but the portions were plentiful, so we decided to close with just another sake and some mochi. The freshness was beyond evident. We're normally sashimi people, but with their specialty rolls knocking it out of the park and at a great price, we're excited to come back and try more of their specialty rolls. Definitely excited to add this to our favorite neighborhood restaurants list. Myrtle Ave has so many gems.

Great taste miso soup. Calamari were too chewy and greasy but the rest was good. I had beef and shrimp bento box for like $21 and it was a lot of food, I didn't finish it all. Prices and service are good. I will be back.

Chirashi Sushi Special Lunch and Salmon Teriyaki Lunch Box
    Kailey N.

I ordered through Postmates and got two great lunch specials! I tried the chirashi lunch special and the teriyaki salmon lunch special. Both were SUPER tasty and such a great deal for lunch. They both came with rice and miso soup. The miso soup was great! And the rice was nice too. I can't speak to how the inside of the restaurant was since I ordered takeout but I can say that the takeout was well-packaged. Even with 2 things of hot soup, there were no spills! The restaurant was also kind enough to put a piece of cardboard between my chirashi and hot salmon teriyaki which kept the salmon from warming the raw sashimi too much. In that way, service was great! Will be ordering again from here!

I have been dining at Yamashiro for at least seven years, and I can't express enough how wonderful, warm, and attentive the owners and waitstaff are. After seven years, it's clear that my husband and I truly love the quality of their food. I definitely recommend it!

Pulled up here for the lunch school Inside , the place is tiny , not many seats . There menu is pretty big . I've ordered here the 3 sushi rolls combination. My plate was very big and lots of sushi. In my order , the pork Culet was good . A but tough . But definitely a BIG PORTION. The service here is ok . I see there do a few Uber eats - door dash service here . So that's. A good thing. Drinks come separate. And are extra. It's a decent meal here w/ service at its best... it's under $14 dollars so that's cheap for 3 rolls .

An absolute gem in South Park Slope!…read more We happened to be staying at a friend's place a few blocks away and was looking for something open on the later side with great food. We searched Yelp and came across Konoba Yakitori, and it absolutely hit the spot. My daughter and I loved our entire experience--everything from the food to the local neighborhood vibe to the incredibly friendly, attentive staff. Everything we ordered was fresh, cooked to perfection, and reasonably priced. We had the gyoza, edamame, Hamachi Lover, Ebi Shu Mai, and the $15 Beef Set (three beef skewers), accompanied by hot tea and Ramune. The beef skewers were a highlight--tender meat with seasoning that was spot-on. Warm, welcoming, prompt, and super efficient. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, and our waiter was extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu. Top-tier service all around. The space is small and cozy with a simple, comfortable design. Seating is a bit tight and close to neighboring tables, but there's nothing wrong with being snug, rght? It gets busy, but customers tend to eat quickly, so even without reservations, the wait moves well. Most importantly, despite it being a intimate spot, we never felt rushed at all. It's simple, which is what makes it amazing. An incredible restaurant all around--I love this place and can't wait to return. Highly recommend!

Regardless, it's the best salmon roll I've ever had -- buttery with a delicate, fresh flavor wrapped in fragrant rice in perfect proportions. After experiencing the first salmon roll that I could stomach and finally understanding the hype a while ago, I've tried dozens of rolls throughout the city at many price points and this was my favorite experience. It's also relatively very affordable; my meal of a miso cod appetizer (flaky scrumptious simplicity), miso soup, a salmon roll, and green tea cheesecake came to $54 + tip. The service was also excellent. I'm the sort to dine solo with a novel, want to be completely left alone, and not notice the quality of service at all. The waitress provided the feel of an independent experience while also being very attentive, pleasant, and informative. There was an art to her skill that prompted me to observe and note an art to the service I rarely do. The staff was very watchful and reaction; everyone was well cared for. I'm inspired to try something over than a salmon roll. This seems to be the place to do it. I'll also add I was surprised to read the review on them refusing to let a guest take their leftovers home. I had just a few bites of my dessert remaining, and they asked me if I'd like it boxed unprompted.

What really put things into perspective was visiting Raku shortly after. At a similar price point, the difference in portion, flavor, and quality of ingredients was noticeable. To start off, we had the Cheeseburger Dumplings ($12), which was so unique. We've never had something like this and they executed it really well. The dumplings were filled with meat and fried with a skirt. The cheese part was topped over it like a melty dressing, so a delicious and special dish here. Plus, it had a side salad to balance all the grease here. For the entrees, we had to get the udon and shared the Niku Udon ($25) and Salmon Ikura Udon ($30). It was a nice combo between a hot and cold udon. The Niku was your classic udon bowl filled with plenty of beef and a perfectly soft-boiled egg. The broth was sweet and savory for a warm and comforting meal. On the other hand, the salmon udon was quite unique with matcha udon and fresh salmon. There is a dashi to pour and mix into the noodles, which still gave it flavor and the slurp you want in a udon. Both were so great in its own way. Even their ramen also looked great, but I love all noodles. Definitely a great spot to dine near Barclays Center. Love to come back whenever I'm in the area again. The udon dishes are on the pricier side, but they're huge bowls.
