Upon walking in, the place totally smelt of a strong bleach; totally like a Clorox type. The place was clean and the decor was nice, but not enough to encourage me that my meal would be up to my standards. I started with a kani salad- pretty hard to mess up - it was fine, but a little too much cucumber instead of kani. Please don't do this! I want a KANI salad; not CUCUMBER. Totally a pet peeve; all and all, it was my favorite part of the meal. Then for the main event I ordered a spicy tuna hand roll ($5.50!) and it was very strange - it had powdered wasabi and panko flakes instead of the usual smooth spicy paste. It was dry and loaded with rice; not cool. I also bought a $9 Dragon roll that was again, mostly rice and the eel was pretty nonexistent. Definitely not where you would go for truly authentic Japanese cuisine or even a bustling nightlife like you would in the city, but again its sleepy Brooklyn. I started off with a plate of BBQ chicken skewers. They were decently grilled and drizzled with a teriyaki glaze. One of the better dishes here. For my sushi, I ordered a Tempura roll and an Eel & Avocado roll. They were mehhh. Not bad, but also not the best I've had. And to round things out I ordered the vegetable fried rice. This is the most disgusted and betrayed by a restaurant I have felt since I found a roach in my salad from Vinny Vincenz -- East Village circa 2004 (and hell no, they're not still in business). I went to the restaurant in person one time and the service was excellent, the waitress was kind, fast, and the food came out quickly. I always get the salmon sashimi platter with miso soup and salad. The fish is extremely fresh, the rice is deliciously seasoned, and the portions are large for the price. They also have some of the best pork gyoza I've ever had! Very flavorful. If you want fast and quality sashimi, I highly recommend. read more

I find the lack of crab rangoons disturbing. Had my sushi delivered so I can not speak to the location itself. The sushi was good and tasted fresh. There was a big variety and it's affordable. I ordered a few individual fish as sushi and they pieces were large, probably the largest pieces of fish I've received from anywhere​ for around $3 bucks so killer deal there. The crunch portion of the spicy tuna crunch or any other crunch roll is tempura​ that has been died green but also ground up or something, makes for an interesting texture and I preferred it to the normal "crunch flakes". The specialty​ roll I ordered "Tuna Lover's" roll was nice and big and they delivered the mango sauce on the side so It didn't​ make the roll gross in transit, much​ appreciated. Will continue eating here but there's 1 thing I'd love to see change... Whats the deal with single use chopsticks? It seems kind of fast food and wasteful. In 5 or 10 years all sushi spots will have reusable chopsticks so why not change now? I have nice reusable chopsticks and everyone at work says "ooh fancy!" Don't you want to be fancy? Also I don't see anybody eating with their hands so maybe lose the wet napkins (wrapped in plastic). Try paper bags for delivery instead of plastic. A pretty solid sushi restaurant on this nice stretch of Dekalb. The atmosphere is ok, with nice shaded lamps on the wall, but it was spoiled by the weird Spanish music that they were playing tonight. A weird choice... VH and I had the TaKo Su (octopus and cucumber with a sunomono vinaigrette, $7). I particularly like octopus, and this dish was not disappointing. The vinaigrette was refreshing and light, and accompanied very well the octopus, which tends to be very delicate. We then shared the sushi+sashimi: 9 pieces of sashimi, 5 pieces of sushi, 1 D. roll, $22. The sashimi was served over a bowl of ice cubes (with a blue LED light in it...), which I liked since it added a nice contrast with the warmer temperature of the sushi. All pieces were good, but the best ones were certainly the striped bass: very flavorful with an almost buttery consistency. I loved it! Their D roll (eel, tempura flakes topped with masago and avocado) was very good: nice and crunchy inside, and beautiful in presentation. I would have loved a spicy version of it. read more

We got two appetizers and three rolls of sushi. - The Spicy eggplant appetizer was probably the best dish of the night. The eggplant was soft and tender but mot mushy. The flavor was amazing, and there was just a hint of heat. My mouth is still watering over the memory of eating it! - The braised short ribs appetizer was great too! Full of flavor and delicious! - The Naruto Roll was my sister's favorite. The fatty white tuna was exactly what she was looking for. - The Sunshine roll and the Fusion roll were good. Nothing amazing but still we enjoyed both very much! - The tempura ice cream was OK. Just regular vanilla ice cream rolled in tempura flakes. They don't have much in the dessert section. The service was fantastic we actually had two waiters looking up on us throughout the evening. One to take our order and make sure we were happy and the other to make sure we were getting all our dishes one after another and not at the same time - cause that's how we requested it. AWESOME!! Craving for sushi one night, my family and I journeyed into this lovely neighborhood and tried Sushi D since it has pretty good reviews on Yelp. I loved the interior, very cozy and chic. We ordered the Susama (sushi and sashimi) For Two: generous portions and beautiful presentation, Rib Eye Teriyaki, Shrimp Tempura entree and a Spider Roll. Everything was delicious. Fish was fresh and the rolls were great. Food wise, 5 stars. Service was good as well even though our server had a little sarcastic tone in his voice.
