Kogane Ramen is one of my favorite spots whenever I'm craving great Japanese food. Everything I've tried has been fresh and full of flavor, but the buns are the standout. They're incredibly soft, perfectly steamed, and packed with delicious fillings that make them a must-order every time. The ramen is also excellent, and the service is friendly and efficient. The cozy atmosphere makes it a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal, whether you're stopping in for lunch or dinner. Got takeout from here while visiting a friend. I ordered the parco ramen and shishito peppers. Talk about a flavor bomb! The parco ramen was DELICIOUS. The perfect amount of spicy. The shishito peppers were also addictive, I could not stop eating them. We ordered it to be delivered as it was a rainy day here in Brooklyn and the restaurant was very communicative as to when the food would be delivered etc. I won't have a chance to visit again before I leave but I know I will be back on my next visit. I came for a weekday lunch with a friend and we were seated immediately. Service is friendly. My friend and I shared the takoyaki which was pretty good. For mains, my friend and I enjoyed our Parco Pork and Vegetable Ramen respectively. The Parco Pork curry broth isn't super thick but still pretty flavorful. Portions were average sized. Kogane is one of the best ramen options around this part of Brooklyn, and I say this knowing Tsuta and Mr. Taka are further down in Dumbo. I've been to their Chelsea location before as well, but I quite enjoy the neighborly feel of this Brooklyn Heights location. There is outdoor seating available, but the cozy tables inside exude a nice zen ambiance when you visit during their off-peak hours. My usual order is their tonkotsu ramen ($17) or their spicy miso ramen ($18). I think both bowls are very solid, classic options that you can't go wrong with. The portions are quite generous and while they do offer kaedama ($4.50) which is extra noodles if you have leftover broth, I have never needed it. I was feeling noodle soup, so found Kogane Ramen on a Monday night. It was a chilly night, but the heater was way too strong for us inside the restaurant. Luckily, they have an outdoor patio where we sat instead. This was perfect as you really warm up with the hot ramen. We started off with a Hot Sake ($11) and a Sapporo Draft ($7). For the ramen, I got the Miso Lobster Ramen ($22) because how often do you get lobster in your ramen? The price is pretty reasonable as well for lobster. They even bring you a claw cracker to help you, but it wasn't really needed. When the bowl arrived, it seemed like a small bowl; but it's actually a lot. The bowl is deep, which made it deceiving. Such a well-rounded bowl of ramen from depth of broth to variety of toppings and tender chashu. Glad to have this in the neighborhood whenever I have a ramen craving. read more

I also got the Herb Sweet Potato Fries ($7), the highlight being their Yuzu Mayo dipping sauce. The sauce I have to say was a bit overpowering with the Yuzu flavoring and they need to take it easy on that. We walked in for a table of 4 around 7pm on a Sunday night and didn't have to wait at all. A great ramen location in Brooklyn Heights. They have indoor and outdoor dining since Covid. The service was great even being seated outdoor, the waiter and waitress consistently comes and check up on the tables. I like how they have a good section of appetizers and ramens. I usually get a Brussels sprouts is always made just right. The sweet potato fries and takoyaki is also not bad. My go to ramen is the Tonkotsu ramen, the soup base is flavorful yet not too salty. The noodles are slightly tours the firm side. Sometimes the braised pork belly can be overwhelming fatty. Kogane is a cozy hidden gem of a ramen restaurant. The wait time was less than 10 minutes and the food came quick as well. We opted first for pork buns which came in soft pillowy buns with flavorful seared pork. Our mains were the Red Tonkotsu Ramen and the Parco Chicken Ramen which did not disappoint! Came here on a Sunday for lunch (~2 p.m.), and it was a pretty decent meal. Aside from 2 or 3 people including myself, the restaurant was empty, but it gives off a nice neighborhood-restaurant vibe. I ordered the red tonkotsu, and initially thought that the portion looked small, but the toppings that they give are pretty filling. The broth wasn't much to rave about - I found it more on the salty end and a little overpowered by the garlic oil. There was also virtually no spice, so I'd recommend asking for extra chili paste if you want more kick. The noodles were undercooked when I received the dish, and stayed chewy throughout the meal. Not sure if they're made to order, but was disappointed that they turned out this way. For the toppings, the menma tasted a bit off and the seaweed was soggy by the time I got the dish. On a positive note, the chasu was a great balance of flavor and tenderness, and the egg was great too! This ramen is something special. If you're wondering how the Brooklyn and Manhattan locations compare, Brooklyn is noticeably better. The tonkatsu and red tonkatsu broths are 10/10. The slices of pork were perfectly melt-in-your-mouth the first time we dined here, but firmer (like most other places) the second time. Noodles are also firm, but that's what we want! I got the lobster ramen this time and would give that a 7/10. I liked the addition of lobster pieces which were nicely poached, but the broth was a little sweet for me. Jessica and I had to use the restroom. We were a group of 5 and we were also hungry. As we walked down the block we saw this place and we instantly craved some ramen. Fortunately they had a bathroom, so we decided to dine here. They had a nice outdoor dining area and when we were seated the waiter gave us ample time to think and order our food. As were looked at the menus the waiter brought out water for us to drink and she was quite friendly. I had a boomerang video of all the food that we ordered, but since I can't post that, I'll just talk about the ramen burger I had. It was so good. The ramen had a good texture and the beef was cooked how I liked it. I would definitely order this burger again! Sorry if that isn't much help if you're thinking about ramen. (haha) In terms of the appetizers we ordered, the wakame salad (seaweed salad) was alright. It wasn't amazing, but it was enjoyable. The takoyaki was a new experience. When we ordered it we were feeling a bit adventurous and it did not disappoint. I do wish there was more octopus in the takoyaki though. The bill was fair as well with each person spending about 15-25 dollars depending on whether they got an appetizer. Brought my daughter here for the first time as she and I are the ramen lovers in the fam. We shared the pork tonkatsu and absolutely loved the noodles. They were fresh and flavorful. Best I've had in a ramen bowl. The broth was very good and hit the spot, but could have been a tad sweeter. Also would have loved to see a spicy option. Monday 1pm There's 24 seats here but only 4 other ppl when I arrived. Interesting how the red tonkotsu is cheaper than the regular tonkotsu. They look like they're exactly the same except one has chili paste. I went for the red since it was cold and wet outside It came out like literally in 3min. Appreciate the efficiency but also makes me wonder if the noodles were cooked on the spot... First things first. The broth. It came with chili paste already mixed in but there's a dollop more if you want it to be stronger. It's a bright chili paste that has some notes of yuzu in it. I would say it had more heat than spice but still not that hot. It's just a combination of the temperature of the broth and the chili that would give you some mucus. Below the chili top is a beige colored broth. I was hoping for a more milky color since it's tonkotsu. Flavorwise it's not as clear or sweet as I'd like it to be. It's not heavy but has a thickness yet lacks in flavor depth. It's thick but shallow. The ramen noodles themselves are the thin straight type. They're not chewy at all and slightly undercooked upon arrival. Of course they would get softer as I ate through but it still never reached the optimal texture. Noodles weren't particularly smooth or flavorful, nothing special. Chashu was nice for being thick and tender. I like the meatiness. It didn't have the reboiled unfreshness either. Except it has another problem of being unflavorful. The marinate they cook these in can be stronger or keep them in there longer. All the other side ingredients: Soft boiled egg - aight. Appreciate it comes with it Seaweed - sheet was wimpy even before getting wet Menma - suspecting whether it's fresh or canned, leaning towards canned Wood ear - like this added texture but would appreciate if it was cut into long thing strips instead of short thin strips rn Cash only for under $20. Overall everything went fine but everything has its downsides without anything in particular that stood out. It's not expensive but I think the price doesn't equate the the quality I'm getting. Regardless this is still somewhere to go if you're craving a hot brothy ramen on a cold and wet day. There's more takeout orders than sit down orders.
