My partner and I ordered takeout from here and were pleasantly surprised. We're always trying to find new places to order sushi from and this is a great one to try. We ordered an Oyako Roll, a Salmon Avocado Roll and a Spicy Tuna Roll. All were fantastic. The Oyako Roll was unique in the roe on top but the Spicy Tuna took the take. It is actually spicy and probably one of the best spicy tuna sushi rolls I've had in a while. Everything tasted fresh and came quickly. We also enjoyed the umami deliciousness that is their miso soup and topped everything off with a Daifuku (a large mochi filled with bean paste). We got the regular flavor and after popping it in the freezer for a little, was the perfect end to dinner. I wish they had more sushi options but either way, I'd love to come back here and try their rice bowls (Chirashi), which I believe are their speciality. read more

There is a large variety of vegetarian sushi rolls, which is great. I tried the vegetarian combo (sunshine slaw roll, vegan eel roll), Venus roll, and piri camote. I enjoyed the piri camote due to its creamy sweet potato topping, and the vegan eel roll due to the sweet and chewy braised tofu. The other rolls were mostly dominated by cucumber, leading to all of them kind of blending together. I took my sister out to lunch here for her birthday and I didn't know what to expect but I always trust her judgment when it comes to food. I was very happy with her decision. We ordered a spicy tuna cup, a spicy salmon cup, a salmon avocado roll, a spicy tuna roll, and two diet cokes. The food was delicious and prices were more than reasonable. There isn't any indoor seating but there are plenty of outdoor seating options available. The person who took our order was friendly, quick, and efficient. The cups were a decent size too, and although the rice-to-fish ratio was a bit off, the food was still good. There was too much rice and not a lot of fish or avocado. The rolls were perfect, and they did have gluten-free soy sauce available, which I am happy about. I would like to come back and try the Harvest Bowl in the future. It had like crunchy onions on top cute. The sushi cup was ridiculously filling and it was like $7.50. Warm rice with the spicy tuna, cucumber, sesame seeds some cucumbers hold the avocado bc of my allergy. The flavor combinations are a chefs kiss. And I love how quaint this place is. Sandwiched between a coffee shop and a Vietnamese sandwich shop is this store front with benches and tables and the grub hub guys grouped up by the hydrant ready to send orders flying that's how popular they are. With an intense sushi craving and no stores selling sushi-grade fish open in my neighborhood, I satisfied my craving at Silver Rice, a place that prays at the altar of picture perfect chirashi bowls. I arrived to their takeout window and was informed that during NY on PAUSE they are taking orders online only. It was an easy enough process and my order was ready in under 10 minutes, but I recommend ordering ahead of time for a swift pick up. Of the three bowls available the Fisherman's bowl-- with three types of fish plus snow crab, eel, roe, omelet, avocado, scallions, and pickled radish-- definitely seemed like the most exciting pick. When I dug into my bowl though, pretty as it was, I noticed several ingredients missing. No avocado, roe, or eel was present in the bowl, which makes the $17+ price point for the bowl seem that much less palatable. Still, the bowl was really tasty, especially with crispy tempura topping thrown on top. I was satiated, though I felt mislead. Resources must be scarce in pandemic times so I'll cut them a break. They also sell fish over rice options in smaller cups at the very reasonable price point of $6-$9, depending on the cup, which would make for a perfect savory snack. Get a takeaway from here and walk it over to Prospect Park to enjoy on a nice day for a nice little afternoon. read more

Ordered Silver Rice from Uber Eats and the rice was still warm! Got the premium salmon cup, spicy tuna cup, and seaweed salad. The premium salmon cup came with chunks of salmon, cucumber, avocado and spicy mayo on the side, while the spicy tuna cup had scallions, cucumber and spicy mayo. Both bowls tasted fresh (no fishiness), and I especially liked the spicy tuna cup -- great flavor and nice kick from the pepper and mayo. The creaminess of the avocado and the bite of the seaweed salad paired nicely with the fish. This is a great take out option -- do be warned that prices are slightly steep ($7.50-$9.50) for a coffee cup sized portion, which is 2/3 rice. I ended up saving one entire cup of rice! read more

We kept it moving to another sushi spot a few avenues over. Eventually I ordered from here and holy s*** I'm so glad i did. The sushi is so fresh, but can we talk about those bowls? They have these little sushi cups and great bowls with just enough rice and large chunks of fish. The salmon is everything the mackerel is a nice new addition to my repertoire of must order rolls. I have eaten here once. The food was good, although a bit expensive for what I got (a cup of fish and rice). It's mostly a grab a go place. A few chairs out front on the sidewalk. Trying to order food at the counter is extremely difficult and complicated. You cannot just place an order on a screen, and there is no human you can talk to. The first time, in 2020, I was able to figure it out on my phone, although it was a very painful process and took a long time. The second time, today, the Grub Hub website failed and deleted my data and webpage. This happened twice after following all instructions. I sat outside in the 90° heat for 20 minutes trying to place an order on my phone, and ultimately I gave up and left. Maybe easier if you use the Grub Hub or similar apps on the regular (I do not). If not, I highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. I have wasted so much time no energy trying to give this place my money. I can't imagine I am the only one. What a terrible system. It's a small kitchen with a sliding window you whisper your sushi wishes and a few short moments later out pops a brown paper bag that says "Sushi made me do it". It is surrounded by tables and chairs for the optimal people watching experience. Today I ordered a spicy salmon rice cup, eel cucumber roll and house made sake. There are generous portions of fresh fish & delicious rice served in super cute coffee cups or bowls. They also offer rolls, soup, ice cream, your favorite sides like seaweed salad, & some vegan options too. Pretty decent food! Ordered takeout and got the eel silver rice cup and spicy tuna bowl. The eel SRC was $10 and literally in the size of a cup, so not the cheapest for the size. It was a lot of rice and not as much toppings (good amount of eel but 2 slices of avocado and a few Tamago) but the rice made it filling enough for a light meal. Eel was cooked nicely. Spicy tuna bowl was also quite small, but tuna tasted great and loved the Mayo sauce (it was quite spicy though!) Overall a decent lunch option! read more

It's been very challenging to find affordable and tasty sushi delivery. Luckily, Silver Rice covers two of those prerequisites for me The food was delivered less than 40 minutes and all came in good shape. No issues. Just a note, food does come as is in the photo, and if you'd like additional, there is a minimum of $1.50 additional. I was confused when I ordered at first for one of the silver cups (spicy salmon). I thought that it didn't come with cucumber or avocado, but I didn't realize that it came like that and that was additional toppings. Food description was confusing that's all. Also, I wasn't sure the sizing was for the silver cup orders, but it's the size of a medium coffee cup. Wish there was something to scale to size you know? My boyfriend wasn't sure if his chirashi bowl was big enough, but it was okay for him. He eats a lot... (Maybe I missed this when I was trying to place the order?) Anyway, good food.
