I can appreciate a restaurant that is trying to give a chef inspired feel. When you walk in the decor looks great, wide open kitchen that you can see practically everything except the dishwasher. I like this look, and the kitchen itself ran extremely professionally. We came on 11/14, and the man who appeared to be the head chef for the night definitely deserves the spot. Good communication with employees, food times were quick, etc. Unfortunately that's about where my praises for this place end. My fiancée reserved a table for us here for my birthday. When you reserve on their website it talks about a 4-course experience but doesn't go into too much detail about what it is. We walk in, let them know we have a reservation, and we are seated in a 35% full dining room which isn't bad for a Sunday night. They gave us standard menus which was odd because we thought we signed up for a pre-determined menu? Odd but whatever everything looks good. Our server Arturo comes by and when we mention the 4 course meal confusion he abruptly just walks off practically mid sentence to go get the menus. We decided to just go off the standard menu. We shared carpaccio and Brussels sprouts, I got the ribeye, she got the truffle angel hair pasta. Arturo was the worst server I have had in the last few years by far. Complete inattentive, our interactions consisted of him mid-stride asking "everything good over here" without making any sort of eye contact or even really waiting to hear a response lol. The guy refilling our waters gave better service. His attitude pretty much showed he literally could not have cared less about us as a table. I'm in the restaurant industry, he wasn't in the weeds. He just doesn't care. He was so comically bad we didn't even stay for dessert we just had to leave. Again, he wasn't struggling, he wasn't swamped, his attitude was the problem. I've gotten better service at McDonald's in Alief. The carpaccio was okay, but overpriced at $15 imo. Not bad just didn't stand out. Brussel sprouts were great. Bread was great, I don't love the butter. Tasted like a sour cream but my fiancée liked it a lot. My steak wasn't bad but again, a little over priced. A very similar ribeye plate can be had at Scholars and Scoundrels for $24 vs the $42 here and imo is seasoned better. Cooked perfectly to temp though, and the potato side was good. Truffle angel hair pasta smelled of truffle more than tasted of it, and needed salt badly. The sauce seemed a little thick as well. The truffle here in both dishes doesn't seem like actual freshly shaved black truffle. I saw a chunk in the dish, so it may have been? But it didn't taste like it should if it was. Management was attentive and checked in a few times, but when there's a grand total of 2 servers on a small floor, I'm not going to ask for a different one. I don't think I would return, the concept is interesting but between the service and some of the food I just don't think there's enough. Oh, and oddly enough they had what looked like birthday cards at the hostess stand to give out to people (there was another one there as well) but I never got one lol but I don't know if I saw correct or not so no knocking them there. Went for a birthday party. We had the party room or a seperate space. I liked the mural. The food was decent. I ordered the lamb it was cooked perfectly medium. My husband had the chicken fried steak he enjoyed it. I just thought it was ok. I didn't like the mashed potatoes. I ordered two martinis and it didn't taste right. I'm not sure if there was a problem with the ice but my drinks had a weird after taste. The mandarin orange salad was nicely presented. I don't recall the salad dressing at all. I ordered mac and cheese and I substituted the protein for chicken. The chicken was super dry. Everyone else ordered pasta and steak. They didn't really say anything about the food. Our waiter was attentive and everyone was friendly. They sang happy birthday which, most resturants no longer do and gave him a complimentary dessert. I believe it was tiramasu. Tried the pretty new restaurant @warehouse72houston off i10 near Dave and busters for restaurant week and our anniversary dinner. The highlights of the night were the octopus, the dessert panna cotta, and the zaatar chicken. I love octopus and they served it with a chimichurri and it was delicious! Tender and smoky. The zaatar chicken was EXTREMELY juicy and so herby and delicious. And the dessert was a great end to our meal. The coconut pana cotta was smooth rich and the whipped topping on top was a great ending of the meal. Sometimes the desserts are a little sad but this time it was great! read more

Came here for restaurant week. We did not know the restaurant was rented out for a private event, but we were allowed to sit at the bar. The bartender who served us was not rude, but I don't think he was particularly pleasant or warm. The food was just okay. I didn't taste any truffle on the fries, although they did taste hand cut. I ordered a medium steak and it was way over cooked and had no flavor other than melted butter on top. The Mac and cheese sauce was good but a little soupy. It had a glazed pork belly, which was really touch and dry. I did like the sweetness paired with the cheesy Mac. Didn't care for the desserts. The cheesecake tasted frozen but the pecan caramel sauce with the Graham cracker crumb was tasty. I loved the restaurant ambiance! The Murals and painting were really nice. I've passed by Warehouse 72 many times on my way home from work and I am disappointed in myself that I didn't try it sooner. It's a fairly spacious restaurant with ample amount of parking in the plaza being that it's part of the Marq'E entertainment center right next to Dave and Busters and Class 502 ice cream. Appetizer: Black Truffle Arancini - these fried risotto balls are a MUST. They were crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside. I could have ate multiple orders of this dish. Next time we'll definitely try the charred octopus or beef tenderloin carpaccio. Entrée: Truffle Angel Hair- pasta was delicious! The pasta was al dente and truffle sauce was creamy and light. The only critique would give this dish is that it was a little under seasoned. I added a few sprinkles of salt and cracked black pepper to enhance the flavor. Ribeye Steak- cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. The dish came with a side of crispy smashed potato and I could not get enough of them. The herbed seasoning was a bit too salty, but the flavor of the spices were tasty! We also got a side of broccolini which was simple, but flavorful. Next time we'll try the 15 layer incredible lasagna and chicken fried strip steak :) Drinks: We had the whiskey smash, which was perfectly refreshing and went well with the steak, and the Paloma which was a tad strong for my wife due to the strong tequila and grapefruit flavor but enjoyable nevertheless. Other thoughts: It's unfortunate that business seems to be slow (we went on a Friday evening), no thanks to the pandemic, but this is certainly a hidden gem in the Spring Branch area. Definitely going to swing by during happy hour Tuesday-Friday 4-7pm for some tasty drinks and light bites for under $10. Recommended for a quiet nice date night! read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place! We have become like family with the owner, Richard, the chef, Jaime, and our fabulous waiter, Javier! Everything is always perfection when we come. The attention to detail and the customer's needs is unparalleled. I highly recommend the Truffle Angel Hair Pasta with blackened shrimp (which is always made to order), but everything on the menu is GREAT here! They also do a ton of events here, like Wine Dinners and Bourbon Dinners. I've done the Garrison Brothers bourbon dinner last fall, which was incredible, and the Rombauer Wine Dinner just a couple months ago. I dined here with my husband and a friend for Houston Restaurant Week. The service was good, but very different.....it never felt like a service at a typical restaurant. It felt more down to earth and a little homey, despite the ambiance being more upscale industrial and chic. The food overall was good, but nothing blew us out of the water. (Free) Bread: This was the saddest loaf of bread I have ever seen at a restaurant. It was small and just not very enticing looking. That being said, the taste was fine....like a regular bolillo...but the butter....OMG THE BUTTER. The butter was delicious! It was infused with something and it was delicious. Fried Mozzarella with Marinara: 5/5 - super delicious, would 1000% get this again. This was the star of the night. Broiled Gulf Oysters: 2/5 - They did not taste fresh and were not as flavorful as the menu description boasted. I would skip these. Mac & Cheese with Maple Glazed Pork Belly: 4/5 - the pork belly was pretty good Za'atar Roasted Chicken: 4/5 - Perfectly cooked and NOT DRY. This chicken had good flavor and even the grilled broccolini was nicely seasoned, which I appreciate since too many restaurants under season or just don't season their vegetables. NY Strip Steak: 4/5 - Perfectly cooked and while a NY strip is not my go-to cut of beef, this was prepared very nicely. The crispy smashed potatoes that came with it were DELICIOUS. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Chocolate Nutella Torte: 3/5 - This was delicious, but very dense and very decadent....so much so that a few bites was more than enough for me. The 3/5 is not a reflection on the quality of food, but a personal preference. If you really love super chocolatey things, then this will probably be a 5/5 for you! Coconut Milk Panna Cotta: 4/5 - This was a delightful surprise. Refreshing and light, but very flavorful. My husband loved this dessert. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice and feels very modern; however, it can easily get very loud. We went at 5:30 PM on a Friday and even with very few people dining it was still on the verge of being a little too loud. I wouldn't want to be here at peak hours because of the noise. My family and I ate here for Mother's Day 5/14/23. The ambiance was mellow, laid back and the artwork is gorgeous. We were greeted nicely by the Hostess. First time here, we enjoyed the ambiance and most of the food was fantastic including the pork chop (the best item!), arancini, lamb meatballs, corn chowder. My one gripe is in regards to the NY Strip Steak Pasta on their current specials. To be clear the steak was cooked beautifully and was wonderfully flavored, but the pasta sauce was completely flavorless and soupy. I read back through previous reviews to see if it's a one time issue but it's clear through numerous reviews going back months that the base cream sauce being used in the pasta dishes (Angel hair truffle pasta, burrata pesto pasta, Mac and cheese) needs to be improved. Multiple reviews of these dishes describe the sauce as underseasoned, watery, soupy or lacking flavor and unfortunately I have to say I agree after trying it tonight. Thickness of a cream sauce is something easy to assess visually and as soon as I went to take my first bite I could tell there was an issue, and it's similarly easily visible in the photos of these dishes on Yelp. I ended up boxing up my pasta to take home to cook longer myself on the stove and add more salt to before eating. That said I think these pasta dishes could be great but the kitchen needs to reduce the cream longer and use a bit more salt or cheese to make it into a thicker more flavorful sauce! Richard if you read this review please talk to the kitchen and let them know so they can improve for the future! That said, we loved everything else here so do plan to return. We've just made a mental note that it's not a place to order a cream sauce pasta at and will probably stick with the steak and pork chop that we're excellent! read more

I've started a supper club and was looking for a restaurant with private dining space. I called a few weeks in advance and spoke with Johnathan. He was very nice and super helpful! He made my reservation and let me know if the room was not booked, he would be able to accommodate us. I called back a few days in advance, and no one had booked the private room so we were able to have it! Upon arrival, I was greeted by the host who was very nice! Then I was taken to our private dining room and was immediately greeted by Javier who was our server for the night. Javier was more than I could have asked for. Super attentive, very knowledgeable and welcoming to all of my guest. It was about 9 of us and we all enjoyed ourselves!
