Hands down fried so it tasted like any other fried wing spot which was ok but I was specifically looking for and requesting to have them grilled! I didn't make a deal about it nor brought it up and just ate it since our waitress appeared new or overwhelmed. We had pizzas, wings, steak, grilled wraps, sides, etc and overall it was good with the exception and let down of the alleged "grilled" wings. Drove past one day wondering if this was a good place - found myself here for lunch several days later. Was not impressed. We popped in around 1130 on a Friday - a few dozen people were already there or arriving. This is a point, because the level of service at our table, was as if our waitperson had 10 tables. Ordered a round of drinks - a few of us ordered ice tea. Requested straws. Then requested sweetener. We would have asked for all at one time, but our guy was too mentally busy...rushing away each time. Plus each time he walked away he got caught up in conversations with other staff members, delaying the whole process. Rolls and butter were good. Purple corn crunchy tacos had a gritty texture, we were unsure of. Chicken fried steak was not battered properly and the batter was falling off / peeling off, like a side dish vs being part of each bite. The fig & arugula pizza should be on the dessert menu - it was so sweet, it hurt + it came to the table close to bubbling...straight from the oven i suppose. We had our waitstaff + 3 others bringing food items - it all felt a little chaotic. Plus when glasses were refilled - wound up with a glass of lukewarm tea vs a mixture of tea and ice. Requested a to go box for the pizza - hoping it might taste better later (it did not). When the to go box arrived, so did the check...with a waiter standing for a few seconds waiting for payment, before realizing the to go box was being addressed first, so he left the payment device for me to finish the transaction. Now I can say I've been there. But will suggest any other place in the future. Long weekend is for those who love a western vibe and want to wind down after a long week to some real good Texan food. It's out doorsy but cozy. Great for kids as they have a huge turf playground in the back and lots of seats to watch your kids as they play. They also have a stage with live performances. Covered outdoor seating is available and has plenty of space. The inside is also a great area to dine if you are not looking to be outside especially if it's raining. The hosts were very attentive and constant. We had great service and they were a lot so if you needed anything someone is always passing by to help. Throughly impressed by the food and change of ambiance from previous restaurant. Faves were deviled eggs, grilled romaine WITH the steak skewers, and BBQ potatoes. Will be back for the pizzas. Skillet cookie was just okay - A little dry but still a fun dish. Bread pudding was unbelievably good. We felt very gluttonous finishing the whole thing. Service was top notch-no complaints. My 6&8 year old girls were nonstop play on the playground which was great. They wore themselves out! Only thing I'll note (which I know is hard to police and is really the responsibility of the parents) were how many little boys running back and forth to the restroom without shirts (and often no shoes) on. The food is expensive and it's not worth it. I had wings and they were very hard not crunchy and no flavor. The ranch was good. I asked my server for a small pizza from the kids menu (and she said the pizza was only for kids lol) we ordered the pizza for the kid we had in our table and she later came to me and said "I'm assuming this is for you" (what a way to call me out) anyways it was also super hot inside not sure what was going on with the A/C but I was not comfortable. I honestly don't leave reviews, but I made this Yelp account just to write this one because people should know about our experience. The service wasn't great from the beginning. There were flies everywhere, and our waiter barely checked on us. I get that mistakes happen, but serving raw chicken is not okay. My chicken sandwich was pink in the middle. When I showed one of the managers, she told me it was because the chicken was cut too close to the rib, like that somehow made it okay. At the end of the day, I was still served undercooked chicken. Her attitude afterward also came off as rude and dismissive instead of trying to make the situation right. Side note, the image below is the meat on the "the smokin iron plate" that was $190. Where is the meat???? On top of that, the bill was around $100 for one burger, one chicken sandwich, a soda, and an iced tea. For the quality of the food and the service we received, it definitely wasn't worth it. Overall, I was really disappointed. Very busy opening weekend we attended at Long Weekend. The appeal is obvious from the outside and definitely becomes more apparent when you step inside. Lots of southwestern/Texan flair and appeal to be found everywhere here. Lots of solid woods and premium feeling seating in a family friendly environment. If you have children the backyard here is a kids paradise. Lovely manicured turf and player with plenty to look at and do for the littles. The service was a bit rough, as is expected for the first few days being open, but we managed to get a table for 8 people around the wait time they quoted us. The staff was going through it for sure, but they all seemed to be at least trying. The food was tastier than I had expected coming. The NY strip was cooked to order, again I'm pleasantly surprised given the hustle and bustle going on. The sear and seasoning was perfect for my pallette, and the sides were tasty too. We got the Brussels sprouts that are more like a salad with the flavor and cook they had; Nice and light, and we went with the rolls that didn't disappoint either. Family friendly paradise for sure. We recently tried this spot and were really impressed! The food was absolutely delicious and the flavors were spot on. We particularly enjoyed the grilled romaine salad--the concept is fantastic and the ingredients were super fresh. My only minor suggestion for next time would be to leave the romaine on the grill for just a bit longer to really lean into that deep, charred flavor. This place is awesome! It just makes you feel good when you walk in... like going to Disney. I know that sounds crazy, but it is unlike any place in Houston. We sat at the bar and had iced tea, draft beer, and an old fashioned. Incredible, they smoke the glass for the old fashioned to give it a unique finish! We had the pepperoni pizza...again, unlike anything eaten before. There was a touch of honey on it! Who knew honey and pepperoni would be a winning combo?! We finally tried Long Weekend yesterday evening with our grandkids. It was a hit for them and for us. All of our food was delicious, even the kid's meals (a pizza and chicken tenders). I had the steak skewers, beet salad plus a taste of the burger my husband ordered and some of the small pizza. There's something on their menu for everyone. Learned they have a 'Michelin-starred' chef. Our waiter Sam was great. Our grandkids completely wore themselves out on the really nice playground after dinner as we sat on one of the benches watching them and enjoying the live band. Playground photo was taken when we first arrived before eating and before it got really crowded. The only thing I'd suggest be changed is for balls to be banned. Parent(s) shouldn't have allowed their kid to bring one in. Witnessed several people get hit (body & face) by a small ball some boys were kicking around pretty hard. Saw a lady next to me get hit pretty hard on her glasses which was upsetting for her as it caused a mark on her nose from the impact. Parents were either not watching their kids or just didn't care it was hitting people. Of course this was out on the playground so easily avoided unless you have kids out there playing. Otherwise it's a very safe play area. The net bridge that goes between the play structure and the tree looked fun. The kid chaos can pretty much be missed by dining inside or closer to the restaurant, near the stage. We arrived at 5:30 and it all tables outside were already taken except for the ones in the covered area on backside of restaurant which is where we sat. This was my second visit. This time with family, including 3 grandkids: 6,4.5 and 2.5. Rainy Sunday early dinner and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating by finding a table under the patio where we could easily keep an eye on the kids between rain showers. It was Masters Sunday and I loved their specialty menu featuring Augusta classics. Our server was super attentive, food came out quick and hot. Drinks were fantastic. We're so fortunate to have a quality dining space like this that isn't a corporate franchise. The rumor is there are negative reviews that are generated by the residential neighbors who bought homes that backed to the previous restaurant in the space. It's Houston, no zoning, makes it crazy and special. Do yourself and your family a favor and visit Long Weekend. You won't regret it. read more

Let me start with this- very crowded and very loud. This, however, if you are able to roll with a lot of people and noise- no complaints from me. It is as beautiful as all of the posts have said. The indie and outside are two TOTALLY different vibes. We wanted our kids to be able to play, and they did....along with about 60 other kids. Adults did not follow the no glass rule at the playground and a woman even broke her glass while climbing in the rope structure. (When we alerted management, they addressed it and removed all glass and people with glasses from the playground). The food was good, drinks were yummy, and service was friendly. Okay so I tried Longweekend in Houston and let me tell you... the vibe?? 10/10. You can literally go by yourself or with a group and still have a good time. I sat at the bar and the service was sooo good. Like everyone was welcoming, talking, actually helping not just standing there. Now they just opened, so some of the staff haven't tried everything yet, but I actually liked that because they were real about it. They still gave good recommendations based on what I like and told me to try the pizza. I went for lunch though and just a heads up, there's no lunch menu or happy hour, and the portions aren't smaller either. So it's giving full menu, full price even in the middle of the day. We came on a Saturday around 11:30 and although it wasn't packed they said the empty tables were for reservations. Our waitress came over right away and we sat under the patio at a picnic table. They have a nice bar area with fans under the patio, some tables out in the grass area and some around the playground. There is a stage area next to the playground and a cute bridge over a stream with fish. I had the steak skewers and they were delicious! The meat was cooked perfectly and the herb sauce was amazing. They did an incredible job with the build-out -- the space is absolutely gorgeous. The menu has a great variety of options, and I love that they even added a pizza oven. As a parent to young kids, I love this place so much. The drinks are great, the food is good and there are lots of things on the menu picky little ones will eat (but also food for adults). I love that the aesthetic doesn't scream children like so many kid centric places do. I love that it is loud so if your kid is loud no one can tell, and no one cares. I can't think of many restaurants in Houston proper with such a fantastic play area for kids. Would I go here for a childless date night or a girls brunch, probably not, but there are a gazillion restaurants in Houston for those purposes. This place is for those of us in the trenches with kids who want a good drink, a steak and to not be judged when our toddler acts like a toddler. This is a GREAT place for large groups and families with children. We came here as several families with all our grade-school kids and felt at ease for 3 hours while the kids played in the back area. We came on their 3rd day open, a Friday at lunch! Love having only one entry/exit door to the outside that's fenced in and filled with trees, turf and lots of fun things to climb and slide down on for them. Including a little man-made creek underneath a stage for live music, water station, lots of shade and plenty of seating! The interior is spacious as well, clean and nicely appointed--plus a really cool, modern fireplace! Bathrooms are super clean. There's a cute indoor craft-like area between the bathroom and their counter-service cafe (which serves treats and caffeinated drinks!) that is truly perfect for the little ones (my big ones liked it too!), with little seating, an area to color, a blackboard, etc. The menu is great, lots to choose from and everything we ordered was enjoyed! The iced peach tea in a pitcher is great, but too much ice and a bit expensive! But I still liked it :) The kids menu has great options, my kids ate everything! Lol... All the staff was super nice, and we got all our food relatively quickly! The owner Andrew has 3 boys, he knows what's up! The architectural layout and design was thoughtfully laid out and lots of attention to detail. You bet I'll be a regular here with my family! The place is a complete zoo. The menu looked good but never got a chance to try it because the hostess staff was a -10. You can get on a waitlist but if you don't make it to the stand within 7 minutes they remove you from the line and you have to start over which is about a 1 hour wait. Oh by the way to get to the wait stand to check in to your table it's about a 15 minute wait. So what they tell you is you have to cut all those people and push your way to the front risking some type of altercation with an another person waiting. Not a classy experience. Maybe they should take some time to learn from Taste of Texas or the 100's of other restaurants that seem to be able to manage getting patrons in and seated. This place is very well thought out -- great food, friendly service, and a space that really works for families. We were on the waitlist for a table and decided to stand outside by the playground while we waited. A server came over right away and took care of us there, and it worked out so well that we ended up canceling our table. Finding places that are enjoyable with three young boys isn't always easy, but this spot was perfect for them. We only planned to stay for about an hour, but they were having such a great time that we ended up staying for over three hours!! The whole experience felt easy and enjoyable.
