The worse experience ever I called for an appointment and they were busy.2 ladies tried to accommodate me with my time, but did a crap job. I got medi and pedi both with jell. They turn out surface bumpy and not smooth on many of them. And of course, I spent almost $100 after tip to get the crap job. I don't know why this place doesn't have a higher rating. I'm new to the neighborhood and ran here to get a mani/pedi in a pinch. I was almost 30 min late to my appointment (I'm sorry again) and they still accommodated me and were so nice. I got a regular polish pedi and dip nails. Not a huge dip color selection, but they at least have all the basics covered. The lady who gave me a pedicure used a scrub I really liked and took her time giving me a nice foot and calf massage, even with my basic pedi. It's rare people do that these days. I was also very pleased with the mani. The lady doing my nails was very careful with the little sanders, not to nick the skin. I also appreciated that she would thoroughly dust my hands off after sanding. The salon seemed really clean and I enjoyed my massage chair. I will be back!!! Been coming here for more than 20 years. Always happy, but the past few times, not so much. First, it's gotten very expensive - two price increases in the past year at $10 a clip so a regular mani/pedi is now $60 (with tip that's $70). Of course I realize it's expensive running a business in WC, and maybe they think everyone who lives here is rich (not true). If I was getting better service I'd say it's worth it, but the past few times I've had issues with the manicurist ripping my cuticles/drawing blood, doing a very aggressive job on an ingrown toenail - cutting away a good portion of my nail. I was in about two weeks ago for mani/pedi and not sure what happened but I have soreness on the side of my big toe - hoping it doesn't turn into an infection. Could be it's the gal I keep getting (she's on the stocky side/does not speak much English) but bummed to think it's time for me to find a new salon to call home. read more

I'm so upset after coming here! Don't recommend!!! The only reason I gave this place two stars and not one is because I came here with my grandma and the lady that helped her was nice. My grandmother got her toes and nails done (only cut and put top coat) and I decided to get my acrylics off and it was a bug mistake! They left some of it on two of my fingers and she destroyed on of my pinky and I'm still in pain. I used to love this place, my first experiences were great and even brought family members with me when I returned. However, I'm very disappointed in the work they did today. I've always gotten a pedicure and they last a while which is why I like coming here. However, I got a manicure for the first time today and they left gel on my skin and around my cuticle. They left SO MUCH space between my cuticle and the gel. The photos on other reviews look great and nothing like the work they did on me today. read more

This place is one of my favorite nail salons. Lucy and her crew are so nice , they always treat you with respect and care. Since they open few weeks ago because of COVID I did my nails there twice. It's always clean, they sanitize each station after every customer and they have clear dividers between the customer and the workers so you can feel safe to do your nails. It might sound strange to say that you feel at home at a nail salon, but for me this is true about Walnut Creek Nails & Tan. I have been coming here for years and everyone who works here is always very friendly and go above and beyond to provide amazing service. I generally do the deluxe pedicure (extra scrubbing & hot stone massage) and gel polish on acrylic. My nails generally last up to a month, sometimes even longer! read more

Let me start off by saying this place is open until 7pm - AMAZING!! Some days I work past 6 and don't feel like a complete jerk walking in and asking for a pedicure. The girls who work here are so personable, chat with you, make you feel welcomed, and they dress amazingly cute too. I've come here numerous times throughout the years, and I'm actually writing this while getting a pedicure. The wait was non existent, the welcome was strong, and the attention to my poor feet has been wonderful. Extremely covid safe, the kindest people working here & super reasonably priced! I just moved to the area and was in desperate need of a pedicure and happened across Walnut Creek Nails & Tan. Vicky gave me the best pedicure I've had in a while- I'm super psycho about covid safety and was pleasantly surprised by the measures they are taking. They don't allow to many folks in at once and they have clear barriers in between the chairs and the nail technician. Vicky was so kind and gave a super long massage with the pedicure which is always a bonus. 10/10 recommend if you live in the area! read more

As with any nail salon I've had my iffy manicures but I always find myself coming back because everyone there is so sweet and kind. I've also found its the best deal anywhere around. It is cheeper if you pay with cash so I would recommend that. I usually come for a gel manicure and there are lost of options and I am usually very satisfied with my manicure. I would also recommend making an appointment because it can get busy at peak times. I will continue to be returning! read more

I had my nails done today by Vicki! She is friendly and so professional. The place is spotless. Everything was disinfected at the nail station where I was sitting. There was a plexiglass screen between Vicki and me. I felt very safe. These are difficult times for small businesses and I hope this salon can survive. Getting an appointment last minute was the only good thing about this whole experience but that should have also been a sign not to go. The lady who helped me was wonderful at first. I picked my color, sat at the tiny station and off we went. I like my nails short and round but that's not exactly what I received. She was too distracted by everything else going on instead of paying attention to what she was doing. She filed down my fingers a few times, the "round" shape I was hoping for, turned into an awkwardly shaped oval. The acrylic was a hot mess and the paint job was awful. Overall, don't come here. Nope. Let me start this review off by saying that I have been a regular here for over a year. Unfortunately, today was the last time. Over the previous year, I have witnessed instances where white patrons have come in without an appointment and have been picked to get serviced before an African-American who had been waiting for quite some time and patiently to be serviced. I never said anything because it was not me getting discriminated against but, obviously, it was not me...yet. This morning my sister and I came to the salon a few minutes before they officially opened in the hopes of getting serviced relatively quick. The door was open and the young woman inside told us to come inside, pick a color and wait "five minutes." We said "of course, no problem!" and acknowledged that we were early and asked if we could put our names on the list. The woman indicated that that would not be necessary by a shake of the head and told us again with a nice smile, "just wait five minutes." So we did. And we waited. About 10 minutes passed and an older white gentleman walked in and asked for a mani/pedi but did not have an appointment. Based on their interaction, it seemed the man was a local and a regular. The woman began servicing the man and kept looking over to my sister and I and said, "five minutes" while holding up her five fingers. I asked the woman if more people were coming to help since it was now 10am (they open at 9:30) or if she was going to be alone for a while. She smiled and repeated what she had before. A few moments later another older white gentleman walked in and asked for the same service--mani/pedi. He said he had an appointment at 10. Immediately following him was another young lady who was another employee of the salon. She immediately asked my sister and I if we had an appointment. No "hello" or "Good morning." I explained that I had not, that I offered to put my name on the list when I first arrived and was told not to and that the other employee told us to wait five minutes. She said that her colleague did not speak English and that we had to come back as the men there were to be served before us and it was only the two employees there. I asked, "so, we were told to wait five minutes for the past half hour and we tried to make a reservation (admittedly but did not) and the one man had no reservation but was going ahead of us?" The woman repeated what she had before and said the employee that opened spoke no English. We kindly declined to come back and we left. There was no quote of just how long we should wait to even come back nor an apology or smile. Never mind that they claim to accept walk-ins and that I called twice yesterday afternoon and once this morning to make a reservation and no one picked up the phone. Now, had I not been a regular at this salon, I would have just attributed this encounter to simply a combination of miscommunication and a non-reservation on a budding busy Saturday morning. However, I have seen other fellow brown minorities come in with reservations and still get treated not as kind as the white locals. Something in my soul felt that something was not quite right the last time I went in and witnessed a black patron get mistreated by staff in front of the predominantly white clients and I said nothing and put my head down. Never again. This time I felt as if the two employees intentionally prioritised what patrons they cared most about and that was very clear. In fact, the men now sitting down preparing for their pedicures shamefully avoided eye contact and put their head down (after previously playing on their phones). If you care about businesses treating people equally no matter their color then please do not support this salon. It is not 1952 you guys. read more
