Aww, glorious. This has been my sister's go-to nail shop for years now, and I've finally meandered on over to her side. I'm not entirely sure what took so long, except that I've always had my own nail shop to go to until pretty recently and have only recently become a nail shop orphan. It's been tough. Being without a nail shop family is one of the loneliest, scariest, and most isolating places a person can be. Who to trust? How to begin anew? Each mani/pedi with a new shop is a shot in the dark, a dangerous gamble, a risky endeavor. So, my sister has been telling me for a while now to stop complaining if I'm not going to just follow her advice (which hasn't led me too far astray in the last 35 years... mostly) and go to her shop. The staff at Glory are all sweet and the shop is clean and tidy. I also couldn't help but notice that their prices were better than what I had been paying at my previous (more pricey) place, and I ain't mad at it. I was really disappointed with my experience at Glory Nail Salon. I made an appointment for a pedicure for my boyfriend and I on January 6th for Valentine's Day (February 14th) at 5 PM. Since I never received a confirmation call or text, I called the morning of my appointment to double-check. To my surprise, they told me I wasn't on the schedule and that they don't book appointments that far in advance. The person on the phone even suggested I had made an appointment somewhere else, which was completely false. I rarely get my nails done, and the last time I did was at this exact salon in May of last year. I even checked my phone records to confirm the date I had called. I understand mistakes happen, but being told my appointment never existed was frustrating, especially since we had planned this as part of our pre-cruise preparations. I even asked if they could check for January 14th in case there was a mix-up, but they insisted there was no record at all. They also made no effort to accommodate us, which was disappointing. Went to glory nail salon for the first time last week. We had appointments, but still waited quite a while to be seen. Although my pedicure was nice, my gel manicure never really hardened and started peeling within a few days. My daughter's acrylic set also broke (two nails) within the week. Some of this is due to us using our hands frequently, but I have had my nails last much longer in the past. The staff is nice however on more than one occasion my partner's nail tech would point at me and then turn to my nail technician and laugh. It didn't feel very welcoming. It was also a great adult pedicure for two adults Tee* did my husband's & Jimmy* did mine. We both got a deluxe pedicure. There was a great attention to detail! The family was so patient & listened to our requests. They were also able to predict the needs of our girls and Mi even put her own creative twist on my daughter's request for Minnie Mouse nails. I like short nails and almost every time I request that it's a struggle getting them where I like them then it's never the same. I got an apt easily a couple days before I traveled with no problem. I think this is the best gel manicure I've ever had - my set is 6 weeks in now (I haven't had time to go back for a new set yet!) but my nails are still holding up great! This was my first pedicure at this spot as well as since the pandemic happened! After about a year and a half without a pedicure it was due time for a pamper myself moment. We went right after the indoor mask requirement went back into place and Glory Nail Salon was on top of it! All of the staff members were wearing their masks and so was everyone inside. If you are getting your finger nails done there is a sheet of plastic between you and the technician. If you are getting a pedicure in the chair though there is no plastic. Which was ok with my because I am pretty much 4 ft of legs! plus again they and I were wearing masks. I had a gentleman as my technician and he was great! Super friendly and it was a great pedicure! I was happily surprised when I found out that the pedicure came with a salt scrub! My calves are nice and buffed now! Plus I may have some harder to love heels and he completely buffed them smooth! Everyone who works here is very nice! The woman I went to was able to remove my ingrown toe nails which was amazing. Removing ingrowns and cuticles is very important to me. They are open during COVID, cash only and you gotta enter through the back which is where the parking lot is anyway. The door looks closed but just go ahead and let yourself in. The staff is wearing masks when they are with a client. Everyone is friendly and patient. There are plastic shields between the client and nail tech both for pedi and manicures. They don't wipe down seats, but maybe I was the first one in that seat for the day. They only have hand sanitizer by the main sink. I appreciate the attention to detail! This was probably the first time I went to a new nail salon that got my nail shape on point! Usually, when I get a pedicure, it comes with a slight massage but maybe you gotta pay for more for that here. The nail tech who did my nails was a little rough, hence, the 4 stars. I ended up having a small cut from filing and usually the nail techs will hold alcohol on it before moving on, but not this guy. He kept it pushin'. I noticed that he didn't wash his hands or put hand sanitizer before working on my nails which isn't a deal breaker for me but may be for some people esp given the current times. However, through my entire time there, I didn't feel at risk. Just wish there was more effort on cleanliness. At the end of the day, I love my nails and my total was $70 for a full set and regular pedi! A lot cheaper from the San Mateo salon I first went to during COVID. read more

After moving to the East Bay, I've been in search of a nail salon. I've been here a handful of times and they never disappoint. My mom also enjoyed her first visit--mind you, she's very particular when it comes to her mani-pedi's. Yes, the staff are awesome! I always get a regular pedi and gel mani (solid gel or a French tip if I'm feeling adventurous lol). I don't have a go-to person, but everyone that I've encountered always does a good job. Probably one of the BEST nail salons I've gone to in years. Usually I go to the one by my house but that nail salon haven't been doing a great job so I came to this gem. I yelped this place before I came last year when the restrictions was first lifted, and haven't gone to any other nail salons since then. I would RECOMMEND calling and making an appointment. They're very understanding when you have to cancel the same day as the appointment. Everyone that works there are very nice and accommodating. I usually go in for either pedicure or a pedicure & manicure by myself but sometimes my youngest daughter would tag along with me, and although I would only make an appointment for myself, they would do my daughter's nails along with me. I think I found my favorite nail salons in Concord. The staff is extremely nice. They offered water or tea as soon as I sat down to get my pedicure. It is very hard to find a place that does a good job and this place did wonderful. My pedicure was done by one of the older man at the shop and he did pretty good.... he took his time and at the end I got a wonderful hot stone massage which is part of the regular pedicure! How amazing is that!!! Before he painted my nails "My" took over and she finished. She also did my shellac manicure and was amazing! I will be requesting her from now on. I would recommend going there with time because they are pretty busy and even people with appointments had to wait a little bit. read more
