I wish I can rate this place 0 stars. I specifically asked for French tip acyrlic nails because my wedding was the next day. When I came in, I asked the man for white tips and I had previously had pink tips. While the man was filing my nails for 10 minutes, he said "ok I'm done" and I said "no.. So last time I went here I looooved my nails and so I came to get them filled, usually I don't complain but the lady took so long and she cut my cuticles so much it was bleeding and the gel nail polish turned out to be lumpy and she kept using the sandpaper skinny thing and she shaped them all differently and I tried to fix them at home and they just look really shitty it was also 30 bucks I am not coming here again it was such a waste of money the gel is always so expensive and the colors always look lighter then they do on the sample thingy, she kept doing unnecessary stuff to my nails and she made it obvious she didn't like me, anyways today's a sad fucking day my friends because I've got ugly nails and I have less money .-. I have been here twice, first time they fixed my eyebrows that another place messed up on, they did awesome. Second time was for my wedding I got a manicure and pedicure, they did a great job job but I paid to get my eyebrows done as well and never receive the service. But hopefully when I come back on Friday they give me what I pay for, especially for appointment customers. Also with prices they need to be more clear, watch out for an over charge. read more

I've been going here for a while now and overall I'm usually happy with my acrylic nails. My biggest complaint is with the underside of the nails. They are left broken, pulling away from the acrylic. This makes them collect dirt and look terrible. Also I usually have to go home and file them sharp myself but that is common for other most nail places. It's hard to get anyone to make my nails sharp regardless of requesting it. The price is decent. Was $26 for a fill but now I usually get charged $30-33. I went in to get a fill and The old lady that did my nails were terrible she first of all didn't ask if I wanted my nails short and when I told her I wanted to get them short she gave me this attitude. She kept messing up my nails when using the drummel when filing down my nails and now they looked messed up, she kept trying to fix them by putting not powder but now they are just ugly! Then she kept rushing on doing my nails! I am not happy with her and I never want her to do or touch my nails again! I love the ladies, they are funny and do a great job. The pedicure is an amazing deal overall. There are plenty of very nice gel color choices. I do gel over acrylic, the acrylic is always shaped nicely and even; I have done square, coffin, almond and oval. The shape is great each time. Something I have noticed is they are always honest when they are being too busy and not making people sit around waiting for an appointment, which I appreciate the honesty when it comes to waiting for an appointment :) The only downfalls (for me) is if I just do gel, a few fingers peel within the first few days, so I usually do gel over acrylic. The only downfall with the acrylics is the underside is not cleaned up or paid-attention to with fills. read more

Yay! Came back to give this place one last chance and WOW, pleasantly surprised with the results, so much so that it compelled me to update my previous review and give them another star. I got a full set of acrylic's done in a coffin shape topped off with gel polish along with a simple pedicure. I never had a problem with the pedicures here, just mani's and full sets. The gentleman who did my nails took his time and did a great job. I'll be coming back in for a fill in 2 weeks! The sweet woman who did my pedi was AMAZING. Unfortunately, I had the same experience as some of the reviews below. Here we go: Went in for a gel nail manicure (like I had done several times before)... And I always get a little nervous at this point because I feel like not *all* of the ladies know how to give this type of manicure. Some of them are great, and others are just... apprehensive. Anyway, I sat down with an older lady who pulled out all the necessary tools, and then it began... the most apathetic manicure the world had/has ever seen. She rushed through the cuticles, she *kind of* filed down my nails. And then she started to paint. Every single nail had polish in the cuticle bed. Did she remove it? Oh sure, with her own nail. Every. Single. Nail. It looked like the way I might paint my nails if I were really drunk, or 5. Then it was time for the drier. She didn't set the drier for long enough, and continued to paint on top of the previous coat. And with gel, you get lumps this way, and if you have lumps, the paint sets that way. My heart sank, and needless to say I was understandably unhappy. So I spoke up about how jacked my nails looked, and she didn't see a problem! Finally the manager came over and thankfully suggested that she remove the paint and start again. So I absolutely let her take off the paint, but promptly got my rear out of her seat!! I'd have to be crazy to sit through that again. But it's not over.... This lady had the NERVE to ask me to pay!!!!!!!!! FOR WHAT? She didn't do anything but waste my time!!! I held it inside, and told her absolutely not, and took my traumatized nails across the street. I don't think I'll ever go there again. The price is great, but you get what you pay for. 4/14/13 Should've called before coming in bc it was busy on a Sunday!! I've been tempted to come in bc their sign read "$25 mani/pedi set" so I was excited to try!! **I usually have my mani/pedi sets done in SF bc they also have a $25 mani/pedi set but since I was in the neighborhood I really wanted to give this place a try. As I walked in a male manicurist asked what I wanted, I said a mani/pedi set but as I looked around I saw 6 customers already getting worked on and only 4 workers. *Hmmmmm He asked if I could wait and said sure! ***Always ask for a time frame!! That was my mistake. A lady walks out and says 30 minute wait time, I was hesitant but willing to wait. I walked into Mai Thai to grab a drink (they're only 2 doors away from each other) and when I came back they took the lady that came after me!! ***WTF.. Guess I'm going to have to try another spot :( ***One Star*** 4/18/13 I decided to give this place a second chance bc well I usually like to give second chances in hopes they make up for the first time so here I am.. So this afternoon around 6pm I called in advance to check their schedule and to see if they were availble for a mani/pedi set and they said "come by right now". I jetted out the door as fast as I could and sped up to this place.. Upon entering, no customers and three workers on hand!!! ***Did my prayers just get answered? Oh THANK YOU!! Picked out my color (yes I became BOLD and went BLUE!!), was seated instantly in their spa massaging chairs **oh YES, having a back rub while soaking your feet in their connected foot sauna. That's what it's all about. I had one lady working on my toes and the other on my hands and never had I felt this relaxed. Spa pedis are AMAZING. After the whole cut, file and scrubbing, it was time for the lotion and massaging. But wait, the lady asked if I wanted a sea salt foot rub for $5 extra and I said YES without hesitation. How to tell if you're having a great foot rub?? Bc I was getting chills up and down my spine and lightheadedness.. seriously, what would you call that?? A footrubgasmic?? ;) Afterwards she then washes and rinses your feet, towel dries and applies lotion and massages.. **Can it get any better than this?? It sure can. She then applys oil and once again massages away. **Ahhhh.. Thinking to myself she must be done after this, but no, she goes to grab hot stones and gives your feet a GREAT hot stone foot rub down **Ok, now I'm ready for a nap... Last but certainly not least, she then applies a hot towel to clean off your feet and then begins to do the toe nail painting :) Now for my mani lady... Excelllent care from beginning to end. She was gentle, kind and made sure to ask me how I wanted my nails shaped. She filed away, buffed, applied a nail moisturizer, cleaned and cut cuticles and gave me a hand job!! **Ok nasty folks.. It was AWESOME!! She massaged my finger tips all the way up to my fore arm and it was heaven :) I can see why this place gets packed, they're that great!! They didn't rush, took their time to make sure my toes and nails were in tip top shape. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to everyone!! read more

My mom treated me to a pedicure. She has been coming to Allstar since they opened 3 years ago and swore by it. The generic name and the humble store front didn't promise to be an exceptional place, but it was. When arriving, everything looked new and clean. Their chairs where in good condition and I felt very comfortable. They took their time with my feet, giving me a luxurious massage (much needed being I am 9 months pregnant). The staff and owners were very friendly. Just a tip, this isn't a place to rush in and out. It helps to make an appointment (although walk ins are welcomed) as they really take their time. My mom and I have gotten pedicures off and on here for a couple years because it's convenient. Somehow, my mom always ends up with a pretty decent pedicure while I'm left waiting to be started for 30 mins, and then my pedicure is rushed through. Last time I was in I was desperate for an acrylic fill because my nail tech was out of town, so I asked to book an appointment with their best acrylic nail tech for the following week. If that was their best nail tech- STAY FARRR AWAY! I had a nail break in my sleep that night and another one the next morning, and my polish started chipping after 2 days. Not to mention they were thick as hell, the wrong shape(I asked for coffin, showed photos, they ended up being long square), two of my fingers were bleeding by the end, and my nails are totally different lengths on both hands. She also didn't do enough coats of the polish and it looked about 5 shades lighter/brighter than the color on the display(I said I wanted the deepest red, the color suggested ended up being candy apple red). My gel pedicure (which typically lasts me a month) was also chipping after the second week. Nightmare. We will not be back. read more

Just had a great time. After reading the reviews on yelp I went in with very low expectations. My girlfriend and i chanced it because we just wanted polish. The service was great, I meen any nail place I've gone there always pushy and demanding, but I think that's all they know. Anyways, Jenny did my toes, and a man did my nails. I was so impressed with the time they took Making the cuticles perfect. I've always had empathy for people that scrub feet and do nails with their head down all day, and usually I get a rushed job but am too much of a softy to say something. They include hot stone with the pedicure, steamed towels with the manicure. when we left we were joking that it was going to be more than 25$, that the sign must have been wrong. Well it wasnt! Tottally affordable especially because I usually pay 30$ for a pedicure. Very impressed. read more

Today I walked in with my sis to get a manicure. There was only 3 employees there at the time, and another woman was getting her feet done, so I expected to wait because we didn't make an appointment. They took my sister for her pedicure right away. As I was sitting waiting my turn, another older Asian woman walked in 10 min after us. She didn't have an appointment either!! and they took her to get her manicure before me!!!! And then when we went to go pay they were upset we didn't have cash and they straight up asked us for a tip.....Ughhh she definitely didn't receive any. I will never be back here again. Tried and true. I've gone to other places in the area to give the mani/pedis a shot, and i keep coming back to Allstar.. Busy times are hit and miss, though one of the gals there (Jenny) tells me that it really slows down in Nov/Dec, so now is definitely a time to get a mani/pedi. Mani/pedis here are $25 total, and worth it!! For a relatively inexpensive pedi, they really take their time with you and give you star treatment. And yesterday was the first time I've upgraded to the sea salt scrub.. $5.. worth it. read more

Every time I go to a new salon I get a little nervous. But, I always do my homework first. Which is A.) how are the prices B.) how well to they work on natural nails C.) PICTURES! My friend has been going here for a long time and loves the work. I put my trust in her because she is as pick about her nail shape as I am. So despite the overall yet rating, I am so very HAPPY! We came into on a early Friday afternoon and were the only ones here. We got seated in our pedicure chairs and they prepared us for our manicure and pedicures. We selected our colors (more than once) and the did the manicures and pedicures at the same time. Hannah did a beautiful job shaping my nails, she also gave me the best arm and hand massage. She is very rough and it did just what I needed!!!!! I got a deluxe pedicure which included callus removal, seashell scrub, hot wax and a mask. I had to give it 4... You have to try the deluxe pedicure at least once. $36. A good deal Soak, then the nails, followed by a paraffin dip... there's nothing like sticking your whole foot into a bag of warm melted wax and having it shaped and molded around your foot and squish between your toes. Once that's peeled off, whole, they apply a callous removing lotion and take what amounts to a cheese grater to the bottom of the feet. It is shocking how much "hoof" gets removed. Hot rocks massage the legs and feet, warm towels wipes it all away. There's a couple reasons I didn't give it five stars and one is kind of goofy but it is annoying... They didn't clip the toe cuticle or skin at the nail line very smooth. When I put my leg into my yoga pants or stretch out in my flannel sheets the now dry skin peaks that were left catch and scrape on the material. Really bugs me. I had HORRIBLE service today. I made a yelp just to write this review. I usually go for pedicures and I have no problems. Today I decided I was going to try a full set with a coffin shape. I didn't ask the name of the woman who did my nails. But during my visit she had an argument with a different costumer about having them fix something because she didn't like what they had done. And continued to have attitude. And I've gotten many full sets before by my home store which this is not All Star. The nail tech claims I got them to short to do the coffin shape which I know is lie because I'm not new to this. So basically each nail is a different shape after I had her refile them about 4-5 times and when I told her she cut me she just blew me off. She said I should tip her for this work. Which is exactly why I didn't leave a tip as I usually would. I can't even believe I paid $40 for these. Im so upset and going to get them done by someone else in 30 minutes. So overall it was horrible I probably will never come back with my mom or anyone it was a mess. read more
