I think this was the first time I have stepped into this Walmart. It was easy to find parking because the parking lot had so many spaces available, yet it was a crowded zoo inside which made the shopping experience less enjoyable. It was so hard to walk around without trying to dodge other shopping carts or other customers standing in the aisle and not moving aside to make space (zero awareness of surroundings). This visit comes after a road trip to the midwest where I visited many Walmarts and found those stores much more calm and enjoyable, than the visit to this store in Milpitas. I found a couple of items I needed. The tube of E6000 was easy to find in the crafting section, which saved me a trip to Michaels. I needed some frozen pineapples and walked toward the freezer aisles looking for frozen fruit signage. No signage for "frozen fruit", but saw a sign for "frozen vegetables" and guessed it might be down the same aisle. I walked halfway down the aisle before the kiddo called out to me to come back because I had walked right past the narrow section of frozen fruit. No signage near it, which made it difficult to notice. Signage at this store could be improved. On the upside, I found a HUGE bag of frozen pineapple chunks that will last me quite some time (I hope), so that I won't have to return here for quite some time. I wandered into the sporting goods section to see what kind of ice chests they had that also had wheels. They had every size except the size I was looking for. I was also looking for Cream of Coconut, but could not find it anywhere. Any guesses on what I was trying to make with pineapple and cream of coconut? :) I went to check out in a regular staffed register. Ok, I admit, I did not want to walk to the other end of the store to hunt down the self checkout, mostly because the store was so crowded. And then I was surprised to see a sign at the register that said "Visual & audio recording, Body-worn cameras in use". I did not see this at any of the other Walmarts I visited in the midwest. One big annoyance at this Milpitas store (which is also present at the other Walmart locations) is the lack of NFC tap-to-pay. You will not be using Apple Pay or Google Pay here. This is inconvenient, as I pretty much use tap to pay everywhere. Lack of this tap to pay feature makes transactions at Walmart feel less secure. And also appears to encourage credit card fraud. Or is the store's refusal to use NFC tap to pay -- which the majority of other retail stores already have -- a reflection of their perception that their clientele is less up to date with "newer" technology that has been around for quite some time. One good thing about the store is their restroom locations are consistent with all the other Walmart locations I've visited. There's a restroom at the front middle area, and another one in the back middle area. Even Target stores are not as consistent with their restroom locations. Oh and this store does receipt checks when you walk out the door, they must be identifying with Costco today. LOL The receipt checker was friendly. read more

What's wrong with this picture it's called a weekend and only one cashier in the auto center that has to keep running from behind to run in to the service area to get tires to do this to do that. read more

This review and disappointment is strictly directed to the bakery department. After seeing all of the viral cakes being made and sold @ Walmart, I finally had a reason to see what they were all about. Being openly advertised as super affordable, I was excited to grab me a heart shaped cake to celebrate my little one's baptism. We are keeping things super lowkey and Walmart's offering was exactly what I needed. I drove out to this location and attempted to place an order in person only to be turned away and directed to order cakes online. I wasted time and gas but I was pleasantly impressed with the employee letting me know that one day notice is enough time for Walmart to get these custom cakes out to their patrons. Perfect because I was giving them 2 days notice for my purchase. I immediately hop online and place my order @ approximately 3:06pm. I wait for the confirmation text before going on with my busy day. I'm happy, I'm excited, and I have high hopes because social media is blowing this spot up for its amazing cakes. Everything takes a turn for the worst when I receive a text message the next morning stating my order being cancelled due to "technical reasons". I am now 1 day away from the cake pick up date and have no cake to be received. I am 100% disappointed in this entire experience and am not forced to scramble around for another bakery. 1 star. I'm gonna take this as a sign from the universe that Milpitas's Walmart Bakery is trash. I used to like the Milpitas Walmart more, but nowadays, it's a random hit or miss experience. They certainly have everything you need for an affordable one stop shop or automotive services, but I've had some unforgettable bad experiences here multiple times over the years. Overall, it's still convenient in a good location for shopping. Great Value brand breads are now $2.17 per loaf compared to $1.20-$1.39 not long ago and the bread size shrunk-unfortunately. English muffin and bagel prices are better than a few months ago. Cheese and eggs aren't cheap. Best value is in the frozen vegetables section. Red meats aren't cheap here. But, you can always grab a full bag of frozen red salmon/shrimp/or chicken meat for under $11 per bag. My home cooked salmon tasted great. Grab a few boxes of crackers, dips, and toppers for delicious DIY appetizers at home. Grocery section is always a blessing. Auto maintenance service isn't great. A guy who was supposed to remove a nail off one of my tires years ago didn't do it after over 4+ hours there. I reported that case to the manager. Another technician who did my oil change allowed oil leaks or didn't screw the cap tightly. Experienced it multiple times in the past. Long hours of waiting half day isn't worth the frustrations. Clothing selections are ok, but they rarely have sales deals on nicer looking items. What I didn't like is this Walmart moved the self checkout to the very back side of the checkout counters now. It's narrow, cramped, and much smaller than months ago. Inconvenient. It's probably due to previous shoplifters near the entrance and exit doors. Cashiers aren't all friendly or helpful. This spacious Walmart is an average Walmart now and nothing exciting like it was years ago. read more

Walmart failed to ship the order out probably because they increased the price on the product. On 05/29/26, they canceled my order without a valid reason and inform me to re-order. I went back online to re-order and found out the product has a price increase. The product is in stock. They just sell it at a higher price. Came by the other night to pick up a few items and it was a quick and easy experience. Parking was plentiful in the private strip mall, although the parking lot was quite dark. Shopping carts were available and worked well. The store was well stocked and organized despite the aisles being full of merchandise throughout the store. Tire Center (Auto Center) and associated website and people. Walmart's computer systems don't work. They choose known wrong tire sizes if you use them in "Guided Mode", like most people do. Walmart's online marketplace sellers don't actually keep to the business contact - and Walmart does nothing about it. Walmart's own tires (that THEY SELL, the seller is Walmart) are delivered by contracted vendor, who FAILS constantly to deliver the proper tire to Walmart. (Simple Tire Inc.) Walmart Milpitas is CONSTANTLY at all times understaffed. They are always 1 tech short, and USUALLY 2 techs short. They accept ZERO walkins, and are surly about it. Like HOW DARE you show up here at Walmart, without an appointment, because you TIRE (that we sold you Hazzard Ins. for) blew out, and you are on your spare. It REALLY is the situation that they are pissed and aggravated that you would DARE do a WALKIN there, in an emergency situation. (The smart employees have already quit. These are the employees who cannot for whatever reason, and they hate their life, and they hate everyone that walks in the door expecting them to do the job being paid for.) That is the Walmart customer experience, to be treated with disdain by the people working and paid on your largess because they hate their management. The place is understaffed, so EVERY job is late, always. Their tire prices are lower, but so is the qualify of the tires. Typically 10 1/32s depth, instead of 12 or 16 1/32's. That's 20% less (or more). On tires that are 1 to 1 a straight up compare, the Road Hazzard at Walmar is insurance fraud. Because you will NEVER be able to use it in the intended form, go in, with a blow out, or a nail in the tire, get it fixed in say 2 hours, and leave. That happens ZERO PERCENT of the time, BY DESIGN. That hazzard insurance is pure fraud, Walmart management and Chief Council style (at least in California, and definitely in Milpitas.) The team leads hate YOU, the customer. LILLY is there most capable, but also the surliest, nastiest, laziest, biggest customer hater of them all. The Coachs (wish-they-were-asst-managers, but aren't) roll between "lead" and asst. Manager, are useless, and SLOW to APPEAR. Need the actual authority of the store manager to fix a problem, expect to wait 2 HOURS for her to appear. 2 HOURS to show up. Walmart's systems don't work, and when they do, THE EMPLOYEES SHORT-CUT It and subvert it. It took me 4 DIFFERENT APPOINTMENTS to get 5 tires installed,, 5 if you count (and I do), the tires order the just cancelled (my first) when the tires were supposedly (ANOTHER LIE) actually in transit. The tires were NOT in transit, and were NOT going to be delivered. The other 4 times, Walmart incompetence, front end and back end, Mechanic to CEO - the entire place is tragic tale. JUST STAY AWAY. Yes, sir, you have an appointment, yes, we have the tires, NO, WE WILL NOT INSTALL THEM..... Logical from a tire place. And as they rechurned my paperwork as we went, they "LOST" my Walmart+ discount IN THE STORE, and refused to provide the free Road Hazzard insurance in the store that I had with the original online order. (THAT IS OFFICIAL, CA STATE BAIT AND SWITCH), - so Walmart is a BAIT AND SWITCH seller as well. Waiting for my FORTH VISIT, to get the last 4 TIRES installed (1 was the correct size on the second visit), expect to have to spend at least 4 hours arguing with these subhuman morons to get the PRICE and DEAL or ordered and paid for originally. I went there to get the Walmart house brand battery we'd bought installed. I had an appointment. They turned me away because they said they only installed batteries located under the hood. We have a Ram Promaster van whose battery is under the floorboard between the driver's seat and the foot pedals. I'd just as easy to get at as any other battery. You remove a panel over the battery well with about the same effort as the cover over most vehicles' battery in the engine compartment. My beef is that I bought the battery on Walmart's promise of a free installation, as their websites state--nothing about which vehicles they will or won't install batteries on. They're free to limit the scope of their services as they wish--as long as they say so up front. Not by saying "go away" after you've gone to considerable effort and driven 25 miles each way to get there. Nor did they offer to install the batter with a surcharge, as AAA does with its battery replacement service. As it stands I'm going to have pay more than the price of the battery to get it installed. I'd do it myself but it weighs 57 lbs. and I can barely lift it off the floor. read more

I went to the Gilroy Walmart Auto Center very early this morning as I've had a good experience there in the past. However they really were not even remotely accommodating to a walk in even though I said I didn't mind waiting a few hours if necessary. I finally just left. I called this auto center in Milpitas and Andrew answered the phone. He was super helpful, found my tire size and confirmed he had two. I asked him about wait time if I came up and he said there was no wait. That they had a lot of techs. I jumped right on it and drove the 55 min. They got me right in and were very helpful for what I needed. I'm sure this location gets busy. But the customer service is the best. HATE GOING TO THIS WALMART. The parking lot is always so freaking dark at night to the point that it's scary to shop alone at night. The aisles are always jam packed with boxes where they're about to stock up on inventory. It's always loud here with the employees talking across the aisles and even more so talk crap about their customers. It's messy and not clean. Spent one hour just to buy my mom some 8 pound chicken wings for $25. I doubt people usually check Yelp reviews for retail markets/grocery but I'm typing this anyways because I'm so tilted. The store was dirty. Since I live nearby, I've been going to this Walmart growing up but ever since the pandemic, I started going to Smart n Final which is closer and cheaper. They don't accept Apple Pay, in this day and age! Okay. I see they have Walmart Pay on their app. I memorized my card number so I download their app. There's no option to connect to Apple Wallet. Okay. The Add Card function on their app doesn't work-- you can't scroll to the bottom to add your Billing Address so you're stuck at "Please correct the errors below." You've got to be pissing my pants. I press cancel, a lady worker comes up to me, utters "We don't take Apple Pay", taps her card and walks away. I say, "Oh okay, thank you." I take the chicken back to the back. I walk next door to Dollar Tree, wait in line, buy a comb, tap my Apple Pay, press $50 cashback, walk back to Walmart, and get the chicken with cash. Biggest joke of the world is Walmart not taking Apple Pay when even Dollar Tree does. Are you serious? Just to get people to use their shitty app with some ooh ahh "Walmart Pay" oh wow so innovative this has got to be the mainstream method of paying using your iPhone! First, they won't let you pick up in store. Instead, you have to go around the side of the building after already waiting in a long line in the regular store. They should have a sign inside the store telling you this. Next, the app was crashing so that my wife could not mark the items as ready for pickup. There was a phone number in the parking lot to call in these situations, but it went to voice mail and the mail box was full. Then, we called Walmart customer service, but the agent stopped responding after a few minutes. I am going to call back to complain about this. This Walmart is one of the most infuriating places I've ever been to. Half the store is locked in glass cases, and they are extremely understaffed. So, good luck getting anything you need from the shelves. Even if you can track someone down, they will probably lie to you about whether they can unlock the cases (they all have the app on their phones to do this by the way). They will even tell you there is someone that'll help, point off in one direction, and run away when you check. Plan to spend way longer than you want to when visiting this store. You'll be chasing associates around for what feels like an eternity, just to get something as insignificant as eye drops... Truly horrible experience. Avoid this place if at all possible. read more

I used to love trips to this Walmart decades ago. I can't stand anything about it now. I have had Walmart plus for a couple of years now and had groceries delivered to my home in San Jose. Rarely did I ever have issues with with the orders. Milpitas location on the other hand makes me wonder what is wrong with folks. I came back home in December thinking Milpitas couldn't be anything but better than the over crowded Story Rd or Almaden location but boy have I never been so wrong. I kid you not every order has had something wrong and I order every week. They will send multiple text saying items unavailable. One week they had no substitutions for water, another week they must have ran out of all the milk. Then if I ever order food and maybe a pair of sock the socks are unavailable. Or, how about saying the item is unavailable but the substitution is the same exact item with the price jacked up by $3 and had I been busy like I often am and not declined it would have been charged the difference. And, how rude is it that I placed an emergency order for Easter candy a d stuff at 5pm the day before pay the $5 3hrs or less delivery fee, plus a decent tip only to never get a confirmation text, email or update that they wouldn't be able to deliver the items until 8am on Easter morning... Milpitas Walmart needs to get it together. Pay your employees more so that they want to do the work, don't try to hustle your paying customers and deliver when you say you will. If being a one stop shop with low prices means I still have go to multiple locations just to get basic items then I might as well pay a little more overall cancel my membership and go to Target. It's mind blowing to say that the Story Rd location with over customer service experience blows Milpitas out the water. read more

zero star (below not good) Milpitas Supercenter? More like Milpitas UN-Supercebter :) Now I see why it is overall rated 1.8 as of this writing. Last time in 2017, I reviewed I gave it two * With my recent experience it's definitely a zero * I placed an order for pick up and arrived a few minutes before my pick up time because I received a notice it was ready. Drove into the designated stall and called the number and called the number posted on the board and called the number and called the number. In other words, I spent 15 minutes calling the number, allowing it to ring and ring and ring and ring only to hear no one is available to answer or the mailbox is full. Honestly, I can't recall the recording. Therefore, I called the main phone number and hit four number four to reach the pick up and delivery line, that line just rang and rang and rang. So once again, I hung up and called the main line and hit zero and no one answered that line either. Finally, I had to get out (in the rain) and run down a pick up employee and let them know that no one is answering the phone. with the frustrating look on his face, he asked for the order number and I gave it to him to punch in his handheld device and then he took a couple steps away, and I said what's the status. He then turns his head and says, "it's in line". I was perplexed and somewhat disgusted of the down right non-customer service, especially how I mention no one is answering their phones. I don't usually order from the store however, they had a product that was unavailable at another Walmart. I used to frequent Walmart for groceries as they were the cheapest and had good quality. This has gone way way way downhill. Products are MORE expensive, SMALLER, and half the time go bad within a few days. I usually do grocery delivery as I have a special needs kiddo, and the loud store with LONG LONG waits for check out just makes it too difficult to get in and out. Today I go to start my delivery order.. and they have NO MILK, NONE. like how do you NOT have any milk for a large store like this? I wish I could say that this was the first time they have been out of A LOT of things, but it isn't. They over charge weight on meats; the quality is just not there. Customer service is also a joke; they are all rude, and no one wants to help or even be bothered to help. So, walmart it has been an average run, but I will be taking my services to FoodMaxx, which is also offering free delivery right now.. Cheaper, faster, and WAY WAY better quality... read more
