We have used alto pharmacy for 4 years now and absolutely love it despite some hiccups. Alto makes managing prescriptions much easier. The app is easy to use, refills are simple, and delivery is convenient and generally reliable (except for a few times where our meds were delivered at the wrong address, but their customer service was good and they fixed the issue). I have been using this pharmacy and I have zero complaints. The app is super easy to use and someone always responds to my customer service questions in a reasonable amount of time. I have never had an issue with delivery and it is very helpful to be able to track my delivery driver to see when my meds will arrive. I have also gone in once to the actual location to pick up a prescription. Don't make the mistake and wait in the long line with the delivery drivers. There is a window inside for someone to help you. Also, for the most part, their prices seem very reasonable when compared to CVS or Walgreens. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. The reps do not read the messages properly and don't answer the question 9 times out of 10. You have to back and forth so many times to get anything done, and no one ever acknowledges the bad info previously given in the message thread. It's really egregious. Plus- Twice they've delivered my meds to other addresses and never made any attempt to recover them and protect my privacy. It's a blatant hipaa violation. read more

Breath of fresh air for a pharmacy! Was with goodrx for a while until they shut down and my records were sent to Alto. I was a bit concerned things wouldn't stay at the level set by goodrx. However, I had nothing to worry about. Same great customer service and fast deliveries! If I order something by 1pm it's always delivered by that night. Yes, they charge an extra fee for same day delivery now, but still worth it given hassles I've had for year at retail pharmacies. read more

When I first started using this pharmacy, all my medication's were delivered right to my door by drivers working for alto, similar to Amazon drivers. And I really liked the fact that my medicines were not sitting in a Postal warehouse or hot delivery vehicle. Especially, since most medications are not supposed to be subjected to high heat. Service was really good. I could schedule the time slot and date to have it delivered. They have since started using the postal service to deliver medications. So now they're being subjected to high temperatures in the summer and also just being left in your mailbox, which makes them easy to be stolen. Sometimes your deliveries are delayed without notification because they stock out of medicines. It's really too bad. read more

Terrible customer experience. I tried to place my last order multiple times and it said my address is outside of the delivery zone. When they finally fixed the problem, they assured me my 2 prescriptions would be delivered today. Only one out of two prescriptions were delivered. They didn't give me any notice that they would only deliver one prescription. And on the invoice included in the package, it listed another customer's prescription along with her name, and indicated that I was charged for my prescription PLUS the other customer's prescription! What?! Now I have to go check my credit card charges and make sure I didn't actually get charged $150 for another customer's medication! Just an awful, time-wasting experience! NOT recommended! Go elsewhere and don't waste your time with Alto unless you want to risk not getting medications on time! read more

I used to love this Pharmacy. I don't know if it's just this specific San Jose location that needs improvement or their while business. No one picks up the phone. My prescriptions aren't updated on the app to schedule deliveries and there's no one available to talk to to help. I'm seriously so disappointed at how far they've fallen. read more

Two stars only because the drivers are always really nice otherwise it would be no stars. I agree with a review before. When it works. It's .. well ... decent. When it doesn't. You're SOL. I had a different offered 2 day delivery . The customer service reps were great. Fast and response. I was transferred unwillingly to alto . After multiple bad experiences. 1. Their customer service chat rep. Terrible not once have I gotten a helpful agent. They'll message you and fall off the face of the earth. 2. I had 7 days left of pills placed an order and it was a two week delay. Okay fine. A day before a critical med deliver. They just said oh we're cancelling the order. We don't have it. Like oh well too bad. Would have been nice if you told me two weeks ago when I ordered it, I could have found a replacement pharmacy by now and have meds in hand. Unhelpful. Multiple times they have cancelled my prescription the day of delivery leaving me to scramble to get my medication filled elsewhere. What is worse is they process the claim through my insurance making the prescription impossible to fill elsewhere. This should be against the law. read more

Cost cutting measures have made Alto unreliable for prescriptions. Was told that antibiotics I needed for a UTI could not be filled until three days later. Anyone who has had a UTI knows that three days is torture. Had to go to a 24 hour Walgreens to get it filled after getting the run around about getting it released from insurance. Alto used to be great. When one of our family members had cancer it was a lifesaver to not have to wait in line to pick up the numerous prescriptions that were needed. That was years ago. In the last couple of years I have noticed that the service has gotten worse. It seems to me that they prefer filling the high value meds but when it comes to $10 antibiotics you have to wait several days. To the alto customer service rep that may read this - sometimes you can't wait days to have your prescription filled. If you value your patients you will work harder to help them at their time of need. Response to Alto - I understand that there are national supply issues. The problem is I can to go an in-person pharmacy like Walgreens and get my medications the same day. I feel like this is a canned response to blame anyone but themselves. We LOVED alto for many years and now we have to pay extra for same day delivery of medications we need that day?!? I don't accept your copy and pasted responses to everyone's negative review. read more

Taking one star off because of how long Alto took to get one of my medications, Nurtec, delivered to me twice a month. It is an unusual medications in that the pharmacy would only dispense enough pills to last 15 days. Alto kept telling me that my insurance would only cover it once a month. This is not true; it had been covered twice a month before at Safeway but I wanted Alto to deliver it to save me a trip. I would rather tip the delivery person than have to think about one extra thing. I had to threaten Alto with transferring my Nurtec prescription back to Safeway if they did not figure out a way to deliver it twice a month. I absolutely must have this medication so it would have been a deal breaker had they failed. They did figure it out. Now I am completely happy with them. With other medications, there have not been any problems. But Nurtec is non-standard and I understand. read more

I've been with Alto since the very beginning when they were ScriptDash. I've referred countless friends and family to them over the years and they've really always been incredible. However... as of about a year ago, things have taken a 180 for the worse. Everything from meds not showing up in the app to waiting a day and being told my Rx was canceled because the med is "hard to get" (not unable to be ordered, since Walgreens seems to have no problems obtaining it now). Meds that are very common and in no shortage whatsoever get sent to Alto and show up in the app as "able to be scheduled for delivery five weeks from now". Of the past 6 Rx's sent to them, I've had to bend over backward, having all but one transferred to another pharmacy. It's a nightmare when it's a prescription for a class2/controlled substance. Sorry Alto, but this might be it for our relationship, please fix whatever is broken and go back to being the epic pioneer pharmacy you used to be. :( read more

When Alto "works" as advertised, it is quite good. When Alto does not, it is dangerous. They delivered incorrectly to a completely different address even though both homes are well lit and clearly marked. Signature required, but they did not get a signature. Careless. Would not recommend relying on AI pharmacy with marketing slogans about caring, when they clearly do not. Going into a weekend no one messaged me until Monday. Definitely not for someone living alone, coming home from surgery, serious illness. If your neighbors get your meds, they know your families health. read more

First trip to pharmacy window: My doctor sent my prescription to the Alta Pharmacy. I received a text asking me to sign up on their app which I'm reluctant to do, so I went to the location to give them my credit card number for payment and processing. Afterwards I decided to give in to sign up on their app. Got a text message that my order was filled and ready to schedule delivery. When I looked at my app there was no prescription. Second trip: they said that my text message was false and that they were still working on it, but they had a question about the dosage so they will call the doctor. I thought that my dosage was too high or low than what was usually prescribed. Waited then nothing Third trip: The window person called a pharmacist working in the back to explain that I needed to go to a "compounding" pharmacy instead and they could send it out for me, but I decided not to use them so called my doctor to send the prescription to another "compounding" pharmacy to fill which I received eventually. They could have clarified this on my first or second trip. Fourth trip: I dropped off a new prescription from my dentist for Prevident toothpaste. After asking the person at the window "several times" does he have all the information that he needs to process this simple order, he kept reassuring me "yes" so I kept the prescription paper I then got a text that the pharmacy needed that prescription paper, opposite of what their window person said. After all this grief I decided to give up on this poorly trained and disconnected company. read more

I have been using Alto for about months. Was using Lucky for 10 years, they closed, moved to nowrx and they stopped serving this area and said they merged their customers with Alto. They are pretty convenient with the delivery. My doctor was out sick and couldn't see me until today, the day my medication runs out. Alto processed my script and I have the choice of expedited delivery, for an extra fee, or pickup. I picked them because they are across the street from my work. However, I chose delivery since I'm at home today. The convenience of choice between delivery or pickup makes a huge difference. Sometimes it can take a few days for regular delivery, which is fine, because it's never been urgent. When it is, you are given the option of same day delivery. Hoping this doesn't happen again, but, they're able to accommodate, which is fantastic. read more

Wow this is such a great service. I love that I can see my list of medications and order refills with one click on the app. Pricing is clear (and pretty low), and delivery is always fast and free. If you're still calling CVS and waiting on hold for 20 mins to refill your meds, and then having to actually go to the store to pick them up, you should stop that immediately and switch to Alto. I've had several deliveries from them so far and they've all been prompt, super easy to schedule, and arrive with the most delicious little caramel I've ever tasted. I get so excited for that caramel with each order. And for any injectable meds, they always make sure to include plenty of syringes and alcohol pads, and they even ask you if you need a container for needle disposal. Alto is the best and I'm going to use them for all my medications moving forward. BAHYE CVS!!! read more

NowRX was fabulous and apparently too good to be true. My prescriptions were transferred to Alto when NowRX sold part of their business. The first problem is that only some of the prescriptions transferred. The second problem is that they will send a text delaying a medication for up to a month (really?!). The third problem occurred today when I received a text saying my prescriptions were just delivered. I went downstairs and there's nothing there. I used the app to report a missing delivery and supposedly I'll get a response within 24 hours. I found a number to call and am on endless hold. I think it's time to transfer back to a traditional pharmacy, which I hate to do, but this company stinks. read more

They've gotten really, really bad. Unlike most users with recent reviews, I've actually used Alto for a while. It used to be a straightforward, reliable delivery service. Lately not so much. One of the drivers recently delivered to the wrong house. They're also pressuring me to leave tips for drivers (why? Just pay them yourselves!), and have even been charging me three times my normal copay for unknown reasons. With no warning nor explanation, just deduct and deliver. They relatively recently tried to charge me $80 for 30 pills I could get a 500-pill bottle of for $10 from Amazon. I hadn't realized it was plain old pepcid (I'm not a doctor/pharmacist) and they almost wouldn't even let me cancel it! Every delivery the app asks for a rating. It's so obnoxious. Stop soliciting reassurance like a bad episode of Black Mirror. I'd change if my doctor were willing to prescribe 90 days, but he's rigid. Hopefully I can break him down so I can use my insurance mail order service. read more

I've used them for over a year and so-far I love this pharmacy. The best pharmacy I've ever used! They have mastered prescription delivery in my opinion. They offer same day delivery if they get the prescription in by a certain cutoff time. The staff knows how to do their jobs and don't need to be trained by the patient like so many other pharmacies. so far no good. When NowRx suddenly closed and transferred all of my prescriptions to them, I was hopeful. However, so far they've delivered my one controlled medication to some random location (not my house, but somewhere several blocks from where I live), have told me they don't fill prescriptions written by veterinarians (they actually told me they are not really doctors and don't have prescribing privileges, which is false) and have now indicated that they "have canceled" a prescription written by my doctor for a diabetes medication which is critical for me. Maybe they are overwhelmed, maybe they are trying to service me from an 800 number located in New York city (apparently true) or maybe they are just really really bad. It's hard to tell, but my experience has been HORRIBLE read more

Avoid this place like the plague. They will cancel deliveries 5 minutes before delivery time claiming it wasn't processsed. They will give you multiple excuses why something can't be delivered. Today, I heard 3 different reasons why my prescription would be 1 week late. First, they said the DEA is limiting how much they can subscribe. Then they will tell you it's too early (it wasn't). Then they will tell you it's out of stock (they knew about this delivery 3 weeks earlier). Then, they will tell you another location has it in stock, but it would be too expensive to deliver from that location so they can't do it. Not a serious pharmacy at all. read more

Alto was recommended by my doctor's office for one of my prescriptions. that was five weeks ago. The first delivery was to have been a month ago. On the day I was told it was going to be delivered, it was cancelled...because they had to order the product. They never ordered it when it was called in. The delivery came two days after originally told it would arrive. I am still waiting for my second delivery. I was told it would be here on a Friday. On Friday morning, I got worried that I had not received a confirmation. I called and 45 minutes later, I was told it "had not been ordered". AGAIN. I realize the person on the phone did not make policy or mess this up. It seems systemic. I asked that someone who could help to keep this from happening again. I was told someone would call that day. You guessed it" No call! They have asked more than once to have all my scripts go through Alto. I cannot imagine how messed up my healthcare would be if Alto took over. So...was told to expect it tomorrow. Will post a follow up. read more

Warning to anyone who needs your meds in less than 24 hours!!!! After doc calls RX in, if you don't click the delivery button by 4:30PM you don't get any meds until 22 -26 hours later. I was up all night with a painful UTI, and no meds because of their bad communication. By the way, they also don't answer their phone after 4:30PM or their urgent requests for early delivery. Who knows what time they open, it wasn't listed on-line. Having said that, they are very good at routine delivery of refills. Prices are good too. In spite of yesterday's disaster, I will keep my and mom's regular blood pressure RX refills with them. This is for the Alto in San Jose. read more

Quick and easy communication through text or phone. My calls are returned within few minutes. Medications are delivered the same day and they offer delivery on weekends too so you don't have to worry. You are notified of your delivery time and can track the delivery person too. They make sure you never run out of medication and will follow up if you forget. Highly recommend using them. read more

Another negative experience with Alto. My doctor sent my prescription in to Alto yesterday at 12:30 p.m.. Nothing from Alto about it so I asked her to send it to Rite Aid instead where it was immediately filled. Today I got a text from Alto that my prescription would be available July 5 and with no price (said still pending). I have only had 1 prescription with no problem that was filled in a timely manner. I never had an issue with Now RX. I don't understand why Alto can't provide the same customer service. read more

I am THRILLED to have found Alto. Having my prescriptions delivered is a very big deal for me. I have a few health issues, with them come days (too many days) that I can't leave my home. Knowing that my medication will reliably get to me is a big relief. Also, I no longer have to deal with the horrible customer service of the national chain I used to use. Big plus. I took one star off because I think the follow-up on meds without refills could be better. One fax to the doctors office and then it is forgotten. Also, you've got me hooked on the mouth watering caramel candies that are included with deliveries, or I guess some deliveries. It is such a let down to open the bag on a no caramel delivery.... Final note, Alto has great customer service. Each time that I've talked or texted with them, they are nice and helpful. read more

Impossible to use. They bought our old pharmacy, NowRx, and Alto simply doesn't work. We have yet to successfully fill a prescription, and we've just taken to asking all our doctors for new prescriptions elsewhere. There is no way to order our family's prescriptions, and there is no way to get support. When I ask for support via their app, they reply by telling me to call their support line, which then tells me to get support via their app. read more

I loved NowRX. RIP At first Alto were good. Then they stopped offering to order specific brands of generics. Several medications only work with a specific brand for me. So they don't care to offer medications that work because it's cheaper not to. I switched to NowRX which I loved-and then they got bought by alto. ugh. Now I'm calling a bunch of pharmacies trying to find somewhere to fill the medications with a manufacturer that actually works. :( All to save themselves probably a couple bucks. And then they tried to charge my insurance $9,000 for a less than $600 medication. Like I'm not a huge fan of insurance, but they cover an expensive speciality medication that is expensive for real physical reasons to create the medication. And that medication is still less than $9K! Like WTF? the next highest cost I saw was $1200 at another pharmacy, but most were $600. On top of that I was waiting for a delivery today, and then I got a messaged it was canceled because I didn't confirm it. Except they didn't ask me to confirm, they just said it was coming in the app. The app is slow, annoying, has a terrible UI and I guess also buggy. I'm moving everything. They got greedy, and stopped taking care of their customers. My monthly medication costs that they bill are huge (even without the egregious $9k charge). I'm taking my business elsewhere. I prefer delivery because I'm immunocompromised but it's not worth the constant bs. read more
