I wanted to go to a new Marshall's location to look for some Valentines gift ideas. I decided to go to the shopping center downtown on Coleman Ave. This is a large Marshall's compared to some others I've been too. Only problem was their inventory was very low. Employees were moving out items to make room for the next seasonal holiday, which would be Easter. There were a lot of empty spaces in the middle of the store. They were some Valentine's Day items but not a whole lot. I ended up finding some nice lemon scented bar soaps that were made in Italy. They smelled so good. I also found a cute Pusheen gel pen set. Both were a great price. There was a very long line at the checkout. It took about 10 minutes until I got to a register. The employee helping me at the checkout was very kind and courteous. read more

I went here to shop today, with my one month old baby. I had to change his diaper and he was screaming on the top of his lungs, unfortunately both men's and women's bathrooms had no changing tables in the restroom!!! This would have made this review one star. Luckily you hired the right people at this location. The only reason this one star review is a five star is because of a super employee, I think her name was - Luz ! Literally an amazing person & employee; seen I was overwhelmed and stressed and helped me into the staff break room to have some privacy to change my son. She is an amazing person and I hope she gets very good thing life has to offer. She saved the day and this review. I hope you get some damn changing tables in the restrooms!! Someone called me from Florida mentioning they could no longer find the dog cookies they loved for their dog at the Marshall's near them. I happened to be near one in this state so I jumped over there to see if I could find the cookies for them here. Not only did I find them, but I found them on clearance and bought up all they had. Then I ran to another Marshall's and found some there. The value was excellent as the savings covered the shipping to my loved one and they were VERY happy! Marshall's is a great store. This Marshall's had a really good selection today , I chose a marble item to give my niece as a gift. I noticed in line it had a very slight chip, not noticeable unless you ran your fingers around it. Regrettably I asked for a discount and Yvette the manager snatched it and said she couldn't sell it to me because Marshalls doesn't want to be liable in case a customer hurts themselves ?, I said no, that's ok I want to buy it , the chip is hardly noticeable I don't need the discount, it's a gift! When I got to the register 4 hours later after work, I asked about my items and they didn't have them anymore. They put the stuff that was supposed to be on hold, back on the floor. This place was ok, I came in for a new shirt and pants and found something that would be fine for my next company meeting. $10 for black pants and $16.99 for a nice rayon top? I'll take it. Good value. I also found some new towels for the bathroom. Overall there was not much variety at this store and it looked kind of messy and disorganized. This Marshall's always has a great selection. When you walk in there is always an associate there to greet you. I have been going to this Marshall's at least once a week since COVID and every time I go, even if I visit two days in a row, there is always a different selection of items. Their kitchen and dog section is always filled with a variety of options. They also have a decent selection of storage bins. They keep their store consistently clean and, for the most part, organized. This makes finding products easier as you don't have to sift through the clutter. They also have a pretty big section on clearance items in every section. Marshall's associates are well mannered and provide excellent service. They are always willing to help you find something off the shelves or in the back for you. read more

I was so disappointed with this place when I visited it yesterday Dec 19. It looked like a disaster zone, with empty shelves and messy piles everywhere. It must have been the Christmas rush that did it. I couldn't find anything I wanted, especially the older kid clothes that are usually there. There were hardly any staff around and the line was crazy long. It went all the way to the back of the store. I gave up on buying the one thing I did find because it wasn't worth the wait. My wife and I went to this store to buy a skillet. I brought a gift card with my wife's name on it. The clerk asked to see her driver's license. I told the clerk that I had a photo of the license, and she said she'd have to get a manager. The manager, a girl who looks far too young for the job, said that a physical ID is required. She showed her inexperience when I asked her for an explanation of the policy. She said she didn't know (not a good answer). I decided to buy the skillet anyway and used a credit card. On the back of the card, it says, "Check ID." But they didn't need to verify my identity, apparently because I was giving them money, rather than getting money/credit. This location has wonderful customer service, good inventory and plenty of parking. there are always wipes carts and baskets at your service. prices are wonderful and the quality is wonderful. this location in particular happens to be about a 10 minute drive from me and it's convenient because it's located near other places where I run my errands. I just visited this store casually, but I ended up buying a lot of stuff. This is a pretty big store compared to other stores in San Jose. They have a huge collection of shoes for women and kids. They have separate aisles for clearance stuff and ended up buying Vineyard Vines shirt for 3$ ;) In the same section they have some toys as well and was lucky enough to find Motorized Train set for 16$ which is 50$ outside. I've only came to this location a handful of times due to the nature of the surrounding area, I find it to be nice and welcoming. I travel a good 15-20 minutes to this specific location. As I'm traveling from Evergeeen (different side of town) it would assure you that this is a nice Marshalls, for sure! Which in fact, it is. However, Today I received MULTIPLE FORMS of HARRASSMENT from a Marshalls EMPLOYEE at the 535 Coleman Ave, San Jose, CA 95110 location. The employee was a male (5'5 tan with black piercings) by the name of HECTOR (self alleged Marshalls coordinator). I had been in the home department, toward the back of the store with with a couple items in hand, with my friend.  As I'm looking throughout the isle my friend asks me if they have restrooms here or where the restrooms were at - but taken to consideration that I'm not familiar with this location I hadn't known for sure. I figured I could ask the two employees that were behind me if there was a potential restroom here that she (my friend) could use. At the time, the two employees - both HECTOR and a female were taking stuff off a gray rack and putting it away or something of that sort. I told my friend that I would go ahead and ask if they had any restrooms here that my friend could use. I face towards the two employees with their back turned and say excuse me. I wasn't too sure if I had been heard due to my distance and them both having ear pieces in. I begin to take a couple steps forward again, asking "excue me" not only to be blatantly ignored. Once again I walk a few steps more in which I'm sure I can be heard at this distance. I say another excuse me. Opon greeting I get faced with an unwelcoming look from HECTOR. I didn't think twice about it because I was really just trying to find my friend a restroom. We are told where the restrooms were with attitude that I hadn't caught but my friend did. Trying to continue my shopping, I redirected my friend to go use the restroom so I can go back to my isle and decipher if the pen holder was worth the $7.99 or not. I really wanted it!! I go back to my isle and almost immediately I begin to hear HECTOR literally mocking me to his coworker saying "excuse me, excuse me like we didn't hear you the first time". After hearing that I felt totally disrespected. I decided it was only right to address HECTOR about his mockery of me. I walk up to him asking for his name. He answered Hector, after that I had asked if he was the store manager and he claimed to be a Marshalls "coordinator" Then I tell him "I don't think it was nice that you were mocking me" and he claimed that I was acting like he didn't hear me the first time and I explained myself that I hadn't known both him nor his female coworker had heard because they still had their backs turned away putting items back from a go back tray or something of that nature. Regardless, if I was heard I could've been acknowledged. HECTOR then begins to say that I think I'm all that and claims that I am and I quote "boujie". Right after that claim from HECTOR I immediately register his comment as a discrimitory remark. I replied asking "boujie how" in where he didn't have an answer because I've been nothing but respectful. He then starts to get in my face, inches away, continuing to put me down and make claims of myself that I was acting like I was "all that" and being disrespectful as if I was some nuisance to him and his coworker. I then call him a lame for his actions and walked away. He began to come up to me and questions "who I think I am" saying "your stuff is probably fake". Service is awful! Management clearly doesn't understand the meaning of customer service. I've tried three times to return some items and each time there is a line all the way into the shopping floor with only two people on the cashiers. cashiers are working hard while the manager gossips on the phone. Managers need to roll up their sleeves and help the employees when things get so busy. it's frustrating to see that. There is no respect for customers' time. Love this place. There is ALWAYS something cute in the housewares section so I practice some serious self-control. Great deals on quality stuff that is up to 50% more elsewhere. San Jose Marketplace is one of my favorite and go-to shopping centers because it has everything including this fabulous Marshalls. It is rare when I don't find what I am looking for. Christmas gifts for all? Check. Mother's Day gifts? Done. The store is always well stocked and clean when I go. The store does get very busy and there is always a line but who can complain when you find something awesome at a great deal? The staff is always friendly and you can find something for everyone. Wonderful place to shop for the bargain shopper. This location of Marshalls is very clean and very big. There are lots of clothes with a variety of sizing. I can usually find something I like due to the variety the store has to offer. However, the beauty section is my favorite. They have lots of face creams, lotions, wipes, makeup tools, mirrors, etc for a very good value. Most of the time it is 40-50% off the normal price you would find at any other department store. You might not think you need something, but one stop here and you will find a handful of things that you never knew you needed, which is not good for anyone's credit card. They also usually have some great gifts for sale around the holidays. Only downside is just like any other Marshalls/HomeGoods/TJ Maxx store, the checkout line is long and moves slow. However, it is not much of a complaint to stop me from shopping here. I will always be back for more goodies. read more

This location is fairly cleaner that many others in the area, but because it is still a Marshalls you will more than likely see plenty of items in the wrong places or on the floor. They carry a wide selection of goods, but just like other locations, it's all a game of chance when looking for specific items. I like this particular location, but just always remember that if you see something you want, you have to buy it at that moment because it will not be there when you return another time. Lines here move fairly quick, but can also get backed up just as fast. Double check the tag prices versus the scanned prices because sometimes the two are not in sync. read more

Great store, this one in particular is so well organized and I always find so many great deals. Cosmetics is mostly what i am looking for in terms of good deals at Marshalls and you have to browse a lot but definitively you will find tons of discounted wonderful oils, cremes and anything to make you look younger and prettier. And I talk to females in here because it seems that mostly that is the audience they cater for the beauty products. At least for the ones on sales. I was impressed with this Marshalls so much that I'm wiling to give them a 4 star than a typical 3 star that I would give to a chain of places like this. L O C A T I O N Located off of Coleman, it shares a plaza with a lot of other stores like Target, Cost Plus, PetsMart, Panera, BJ's, Smashburger, etc. So it can get hairy in terms of finding parking in their shared large lot, but again if you're willing to walk, just find a spot far and walk over. Or try your luck. S T O R E Everything in this store is well laid out and very clean. When things are in disarray, someone's there already fixing it. The kitchen area was what impressed me. Usually everything is higglety pigglety organized and instead everything was in their rows, spatulas were all in a particular area and so were the strainers. It was an organized person's dream. It made it really easy to figure out what stock they had. O V E R A L L I would come back and since we usually come here for Sweet Tomatoes, it'll be a great spot to just take laps after eating a huge meal or at least look through some stuff before we go to Trader Joe's. If you have a sign on the door that says masks required to enter then don't you think (Manager of this establishment) that you should train your staff to grow some **** and not let defiant customers in the store who don't have a mask? I was shopping in there last night and a man walking around the shoe department without a mask (look at your cameras around 7:30pm) and your male staff member standing against the carts watching this customer but no doing anything about it...amazing, just amazing. I came here yesterday with a purpose to buy two things: wine glasses set in a box and a cute sweater top for my cutie penguin and panda besties to give as a late Christmas present. I walked to where them wine glasses would be and BAM! A red Kitchen Aid stand mixer appears before my eyes... they went from o_o to O.O!!!!!!! I wasn't planning on getting a cart so I rushed over to the front, got a cart, and raced to where the gem is at... grabbed it.. IT WAS MINE! Horrible customer service. Tried to return something because of a fabric defect that I didn't see and there was no tag on it to begin with. Brought it back a couple days later and they said they didn't carry the item. Then they spent 15 minutes looking for the item and gave me $6 back. Then I found the same shirt on their racks and showed that I had paid $13. Pwned... Ok thinking that I've been through enough. But then, they couldn't find the return in their system to be able to void it. Now I am standing here waiting for them to figure out how their registers work. Total time wasted: 40 minutes. I went to all 3 this week and this one BY FAR has the best selection & the best prices. Campbell is DEF the worst! Ugh, how is that one even still open? I got a whole bunch of stuff today for $20. Like good, quality stuff. I really like the beauty section they have, as well as their home decor and stationery items. I haven't shopped there for clothes yet, but I plan on checking it out on the next trip. Marshalls is only second to TJ MAx. This one in particular. Not much to find here but it's close to where I live so... My favorite section of this store is the house ware. They also carry lots of kitchen stuff and also tons of aromatic bottles. I bought two and was very happy with how intense the smell was. They also have a very good selection of occasional things like x'mas decors . They also have a great selection of t-shirts for man and women and tons of shoes for women. I think that's where they stand out.I think no luck for men in this department ;( Checking out is almost always pretty easy. Line moves fast. The store itself is pretty clean and if you show up on Fridays they're freshly stocked with practically almost everything. read more
