Fairly big Daiso in Cupertino in a popular Asian retail and restaurant center. Once in a while the checkout line can get long. Daiso is a great alternative to dollar stores for household items. A little more pricey but better quality, much wider selection, and way cleaner atmosphere. read more

Yes, going into Daiso you know that it's a place filled with extra cheap goods (like a dollar store). That was fine when my son would come there to get chips and Ramune, but then he tried to be nice and get me a pair of slippers. I was waiting in the car for him. He grabbed a pair of slippers, but didn't think to get a receipt - which apparently has no value anyways - and brought them back to the car. They were way too small, so I sent him back to exchange (60 seconds after he'd left the store). The lady at the counter said he could not because he had no receipt (not even a true statement as you'll find out). So, then he didn't want to disappoint me and went and got another pair. The sizing is in super super small print, and he got it wrong again. I went back with him and asked for a refund. The lady at the counter was nervous and said she would need to call a manager. Another guy came up, and said he couldn't help, and called for a third person. This guy comes up and says he can't help me, and points to the receipt that says "no returns or exchanges"... which begs the question, why even have receipts?! I said he just bought these two items a minute ago, and the "second" manager said there were no exceptions. I get it if we brought back slippers that had been used, but clearly that wasn't the case. I've told my son to go next door to the Marketplace now for his Ramunes and snacks, which he buys 3-4 times a week. I would say they have terrible customer service, but they really have NO customer service. I had a decent impression of this store and now think they are awful. I am stuck with two pairs of slippers that don't fit and my young son feels badly about the whole thing. Much ado about losing $12? Maybe, but the experience is way more important than the goods, and the experience was hot garbage. read more

I love casually browsing Daiso from time to time. They always carry some of the cutest things that I have absolutely no use for but must have!! We stumbled across this Daiso since my family and I were planning on having dinner close by and decided to check it out. Pricing varies and the items sold range from home goods, snacks, stationary, stuffed animals, pet care, and kitchenware. Not only was I able to find items needed for my daughter's school project, we also left with a bunch of snacks. Definitely a win in my book. 4 stars. I'm all about buys that won't break the bank!! My three kids love Daiso! All the stuff there is super cute. They enjoy the Sanrio things and stuffies. We keep coming back.

Came here today to look around and see what's new. I love this location. They have everything very organized and immaculate inside. I did notice there prices now start at $2.25 instead of $1.75. It was bound to happen eventually I guess. I found som cure Sanrio themed hair clips and bathroom accessories. Check out was fast and easy. They gave to self checkout kiosks the front. This is such a fun shop to pop into and see what you might find. I usually end up leaving with some kind of kitchen item, like a new pair of chopsticks or a cute bowl I didn't know I needed. They have a great selection of snacks and a wide variety of items, from kitchenware to school supplies and little gifts. She spent an hour here shopping, while I hung around the mall deciding where to eat for dinner or dessert. Atmosphere - Good size location, see pictures. Open 7 days a week from 9am or 10am to 8pm or 9pm. Plenty of mall parking, but crazy busy on this Friday evening. Service - N/A. Price - Prices start at $1.75 to $15.25. I was looking for particular highlighters that were out at my local Daiso, so I swung by here to try my luck. As one would expect from Daiso - there are tons of cute and helpful things all over the store that attract attention. I was very tempted to walk out of Daiso with a ton of things that I could use in the *future* - cute things that I didn't necessarily need at the moment, but I'm sure I could find a use for at some later time. But, I was able to control myself and only got a few things that I actually needed. Unfortunately, the highlighters I wanted were not in stock here either. Most of the items in Daiso are great for their price - just make sure you know how much you're paying for it as there are no refund/exchanges. While I wasn't able to find the highlighters I wanted, I was able to get some (free) charging in and visited some of the other shops around Daiso while there. Overall win! read more

08/08/2025 12:06 PM PST: I checked out with an Asian lady cashier (unfortunately I was unable get her name at the time/but I'm aware of who she is) and she dropped my soap box really hard on the counter. It left a black mark on the portion that the soap directly touches on. The cashier ignored this, and continued to complete the transaction as if nothing happened. Unfortunately, I went back to car first to clean it with hand sanitizer. I should've discontinued the transaction immediately upon the damage. The mark didn't disappear, so I went back immediately to request for an exchange or a return. This request was made WITHIN 3-5 minutes of purchasing (feel free to pull up the CCTV footage if needed). I had consulted the same exact cashier, and again, instead of any apology, she started rubbing the mark with her finger. She then proceeded to call the manager, and said "apparently" she dropped it so the customer wants an exchange. I will give her credit for telling the manager that the customer "just bought it", but she did not disclose that the mark was not removable. The manager of this store refused any exchange or refund despite my immediate/prompt request within minutes of purchasing. Per Daiso policy, all sales are final EXCEPT damaged goods (second photo attached). Your own store's cashier not only damaged an item that's supposed to be sanitary for soap, BUT also your own store's manager refused to adhere to a legitimate Daiso policy regarding damaged goods. I'm not expecting much, but BASIC customer service was 0. No exchange, no refund, no apology, no politeness. I was told to just "wash it at home". Cracked plastic will harbor bacteria, and this will be dealt with on my own accord. This Daiso's cashier (on this specific shift) and manager have poor understanding of their own parent company's policy. read more

I ended up shopping madly because I have a whole new list of items. I was blown away by the selection of reusable or improved items. They had reusable silicon food storage bags, reusable "paper" towels, silicon coated sheets for baking. Definitely a step up from the usual dollar store offering. I ended up with the most unexpected stuff, shelf liners, and foam weatherstripping. The readers were so nice I finally succumbed and brought two pairs. These are the lightest weight, comfortable and accurate $2 readers I've encountered. They blow away my Foster Grant readers. The half lens shape is just what I need since I'm fine at the 4 foot plus distance and just need magnification at about 12 inches. I was looking for a clay pot but no luck. They did have a small collection of cast iron and what looked like stoneware skillets but I have tons of skillets and even these adorable tiny bits of cookware failed to tempt me. I was looking for noodle bowls and ended up with some small bowls. Later I found some at 99 Ranch and the price was so high I was sure it couldn't possibly be noodle bowls. Perhaps they have gold ingots embedded. The collection of hand tools was well stocked but mine are in great shape. As usual I stocked up on small kitchen tools, cleaning brushes, spray bottles and the like. Of course Target is closer and reasonably priced but Daiso has the edge in terms of value. Everyone knows what Daiso is like. This one happens to be in a nice place with a large variety of products. It's located in a cute strip mall that's heavily lined with trees and has a few good afternoon-snack shops nextdoor if you choose to partake. There are tons of useful items that you never knew you needed and many that you don't but are just so darned cute. I purchased gift bags to put small desserts in (planned) and picked up some leggings (unplanned). They looked like they were of good quality, surprising for the price. read more

I love this place! Although most of the items are made in China, I found a good amount of kitchen items made in Japan! Like many of the ceramics bowls, small plates and tea cups are actually made in Japan! They now also have fishing items and camping items available. I'm not sure it's a seasonal thing or not, but it's definitely a plus for those who only has limited budgets. I also see more gardening items in the back of the stores today. What a sweet store! Prices are typically listed with prices in JPY with Yen to Dollar conversion charts all over the store. For a discount store, you expect to get "fair" quality items at a reasonable price. There aren't as many options as there would be at a Dollar Tree, but I love the Japanese aesthetic/minimalism! When I was living in Japan, I basically shopped exclusively at the 100 Yen shops so you can imagine my delight when Daiso finally came to the US! I love the style and design of the Japanese version of dollar store items, particularly the kitchen and stationary stuff. The pet selection is pretty great as well. I was able to find my friend's 8 week old wiener puppy a hoodie and collar here which fit pretty nicely! One this to highlight is that the dried food section frequently carries items like dried soy meat as well as vegan ramen! I had such a hard time being vegan while in Japan since nearly all sauce and soup bases contained bonito extract. It's wonderful to finally have vegan and vegetarian friendly options after all this time. The store is typically well-stocked, clean and organized. The employees are friendly but don't always know about all the products stocked in the store. That's totally okay, but I wanted to note that so there isn't any disappointment when visiting. There is always a refresh every season of specialty seasonal items which align with Japanese-practiced holidays, which conveniently now also includes Halloween. Something that helps me personally feel connected to Japan while shopping here is the selection of Japanese holiday items for New Year, Girl's Day, Children's Day, Cherry Blossom Festival, Summer Festival etc. In the kitchen and baking area, you can find items typically found in Japanese kitchens, as well as kitchen tools sized down for Japanese portion-sized food prep. If you're baking for a bake sale, you can find really cute packaging here to spruce up your baked goods for purchase. They are far cuter (in my opinion) than what you can find at Michael's, Dollar Tree and the like. Even if you don't need anything, it's worth stopping in to muse around. Since the store is next door to Marukai I decided to buy some gift items for my co-worker's last day which is next week. Some of the items are cheap though Dollar store prices are far cheaper but here at Daiso Japan almost all the items are priced in Japanese yen and though they do have a chart converting to US dollar I would rather have them priced in dollar amount and not create a confusion. I found some of the items cheaply made though I have across a few items worth buying. There's ample parking best time come by in the morning than in the afternoons particularly on the weekends. read more

Omg I can't believe i didn't know about this store! It's right next to the Japanese grocery store Marukai. When I was in the store, I was overwhelmed by the cuteness overload of everything in the front!! I was like "omg so cute" and my kid was like "omg so cute!" And you can see my husband rolling his eyes and be like "look what you've done to our son" LOL I didn't know Daiso is like a Japanese dollar tree kind of store. But things are organized, and seems to be in high quality. We spent a good hour in the store browsing and buying stuff. It's so fun to go up and down the aisles and see what kind of stuff they have. This Daiso is in the same complex as Mitsuwa so it is convenient and I visit every time I shop at Mitsuwa. The space is limited and asides are kinda tight but they have a good selection. I appreciate they have Japanese condiments and toys that I can use for my baby girl and they do not have in Sacramento. read more

One of the larger and nicer Daiso stores I've been to! After we ate at a nearby restaurant, I wanted to come here to browse. The store were well-stocked & employees were friendly. I came a few weeks after Christmas and they were discounting their leftover items at $1 off. Managed to find a few remaining Disney things so I took advantage of that! As for the other items, I noticed they had pretty much everything of the other stores I've been to plus more variety/inventory. I love grabbing things to keep my toddler occupied on trips and while waiting for food bc you know they can get quite antsy. Sticker books are great but they go through them so fast!! I wish Daiso carried reusable ones. However, for under $2 each, I can't really complain. I saw lots of Disney, Sanrio and other characters. Will definitely come back to grab some cute party supplies if we ever need. read more

I love Daiso ! They carry products that I grew up loving like Rilakkuma:-) Most stuff in the store are below $5 . They carry Japanese candies , cookies, gums , drinks like Ramune , green teas , strawberry milk tea , canned iced coffee, school supplies, dishes (miso soup and rice bowls , sake cups , chopsticks etc... ), Japanese food items like curry , noodles , furikake etc.. and tons of other stuff similar to the general dollar stores carry plus some traditional Japanese seasonal items like Japanese New Years decorations. It's conveniently located right next to Marukai . Plenty parking. The staff here are so nice, polite and helpful . I wished there was a Daiso in fresno . read more

Love going to this Daiso it's big and clean. They even have more sections. It's clean and their customer service is on point. Because of covid-19 they have to reduce capacity and have someone at the door have a clicker for a head count. If you need to use the restroom, it's next door at the supermarket. read more

Daiso is currently limiting the number of customers inside the store at any given time during COVID times. They also have markers on the ground outside so that customers can know where to stand to remain six feet apart. I went on the Saturday after Christmas around noon and there was quite a line! I had to wait for 20-30 minutes to get in. I love Daiso. Every time I go, I find something that I didn't know I needed until I see it. It's like...going to Target. Probably not a good thing because I spend money that I wouldn't have otherwise spent. At least everything is pretty cheap! I think items start off at $1.50. I was confused at first because there were guides to cost conversions throughout the store but none of the items I'd picked up had prices on them, but a store employee helpfully told me when I asked that if there's no marked price, it's probably $1.50. I like going to Daiso for random items useful for around the house. The prices are cheap, and there are definitely items that don't reflect the prices and feel cheap also, so I feel like I often get a pretty good deal! read more

I also do cosplay on the side so this place is really nice to find random objects that work well as props. For example I just got a $1.50 Japanese katana toy sword. Workers are nice. This place has lots of small essential nick nacks one could use. Just a note to self, never ever get those bread packages. It advertised being sweet, but because of the presentative through traveling all the way from Japan, they have to use a good healthy presentative packet containing ethyl alcohol (what is in drinking alcohol), makes the bread bitter. I love Daiso!!! When I went to Japan I went crazy!!!! It has everything you may need or don't need...depending on who you ask! They have random household items and stationary. I actually found $5 headphones!!!! I mean it sounds sketchy when right at checkout they say no refunds, no exchanges pointing at my $5 headphones. Like umm what happens if it doesn't work?!?! But it does, so no worries ! Every thing is 1.50 unless otherwise noted. It's sad because in Japan it was 1.00!
