I like this Walmart because I can usually find all my grocery essentials in one trip. I come here for things like coffee creamer, almond milk, and bread. Their Cabo salmon is one of my go-to proteins and it's reasonably priced. The produce can be hit or miss, especially the fruit, so I usually just stick to bananas. They do carry all the basic vegetables. I like grabbing the small pre-washed bags of string beans and broccoli for convenience. They also have a good selection of sugar-free snacks, including cake mixes that I don't always see at regular grocery stores. If you're trying to save money, the Great Value brand is solid and definitely more affordable than name brands. One thing I really like is the number of self-checkout lanes. Even when it's busy, I rarely wait more than five minutes to check out, which makes the whole trip a lot easier. read more

I just had such a ridiculous interaction here at self check out. I went shopping with a friend and we both had about 8 items each and we were turned away when we went to split up our things. The guy working self checkout told us we couldn't split up carts like that and wouldn't be able to use self checkout out still. I walked over because I needed a super cheap tool to fix my car. It was behind glass and pushing the button several times over the course of 20 minutes yielded no help and I have a feeling someone pushed the call button as responded to remotely. This aisle being monitored by camera was clearly just for psychology students to see how long the employees can ignore the call button. I had to walk over to electronics to call someone. One my most recent trip, I needed cut fabric. There was no service button and no staff member so I went to the electronics desk where they called over the speaker. It was DEAD inside the store and several staff walked by but no one knew how to work the fabric cut counter. I was patient since I heard the call and 15 minutes later, still no one. There was another guy in automotive who heard them call for me and he made a comment after he got his item that he had been there waiting for about 20 minutes and pretty much wished me luck. I went back to request another call and still no one. I was trying really hard not to be THAT customer but at this point, I had been waiting 30 minutes. I asked a passing workee if there was anyone even in the crafts department and she was apologetic that she wasn't sure since it wasn't her department. I apologized for being snappy after waiting for so long and I suppose she took pity on me to get some help. Someone eventually came to cut off the fabric I needed. I honestly could have gnawed through the fabric with my teeth with how long I had to wait... They get one star only because there are some really nice staff there. This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to. I saw employees just standing around talking and not helping customers. The manager, Miesha, was very rude and acted like I was wasting her time. Then I heard other employees speaking disparagingly about white customers. VERY INAPPROPRIATE! luckily, I don't have to use that store because I live outside the area. But I had a terrible experience with a cash register employee, did not get a name but I was grocery shopping with my mom & as we got to the cash register we were putting the groceries on the counter and out avocados fell out of our bag so I was picking them up and as I was picking them Up this lady (short, African American lady) starts raising her voice upset and making faces because we weren't responding to her, my mom does not speak English and I was picking up the avocados so I could not hear her until I got up and saw her face and her attitude as I put the avocados back. as my mom was also speaking to me. Concerning Pokemon cards, employees here 100% lie that they do not carry cards. I have had employees at who have checked the area for inventory at other locations, and with the Easter promotional display collaboration with Walmart, there is supposed to be a train of a variety of toys from a variety of toy companies. This is different than an independent vendor supplying weekly, which I understand that a vendor doesn't go here anymore. The stock has been 50 up until 2pm 3/6/25 and by 4pm the stock is at 4, yet employees know nothing about it. They give a bunch of excuses on how inventory is done by 2 departments in the store and that's why it may not line up, but how can you say you don't sell it and inventory drops numbers wise live in real time. Of course no one knows how this can happen when the item never made it to the floor to be sold. Moral of the story: this store has employees back footing and buying the products before they even make it to the floor. If it were stolen, the numbers wouldn't drop in real time. Edit at 8pm: actually hilarious that after I called them out on their shady behavior and left the store, they changed the stock to 0. Yeah, you guys got caught and making a mistake at leaving the inventory at 4. Nice job backdooring the product instead of selling it to customers. Classless behavior. read more

I purchased a TCL Roku tv from Walmart online on 3/21 and picked it up from the Long Beach location off South St. When I got the tv home, I noticed a glitch when I opened the Netflix app. I tried multiple ways to fix the error over a 2 day span of time but was unsuccessful so I issued a return on the app and attempted to take the tv back. When I arrived at the Long Beach location on South St., the systems were down in the customer service area so they told me to try returning it at the Lakewood location on Carson St. When I arrived at the Lakewood location the lady at the customer service area was unprofessional in the way she spoke, unhelpful with my return and told me I needed to return the tv at the store I purchased it from. The next day I took it back to the South St. Location and the manager in the customer service area was just as unhelpful. She was asking me interrogating questions assuming I was trying to do something shady by returning the tv. I tried explaining that the tv was defective and I just wanted to exchange or return the tv for one that worked. When I showed her my original proof of purchase confirmation, she said I needed to call the manufacturer. When I asked to speak with her manager, another lady named Melanie came to help. Melanie took the time to listen to me, understand that I received a defective tv, saw that I purchased the tv just a few days ago and that I had the original receipt. She did everything she could to help me return the tv and get a new one. Melanie should be acknowledged for her excellent customer service. I wish I could say that Melanie's customer service changed my mind about shopping at Walmart, but to be honest, I won't be shopping at Walmart in the future. read more

I would've given this location 5 stars. But I think employee was lying about stock availability of Gotrac Rival scooters.. I wanted 2. Walmart app and Brickseek showed more than 6 in stock. However Walmart employee said he only saw one in warehouse This scooter is on roll back savings and this Long Beach location is the only Walmart within 15 miles that show stock. Which is why I traveled here. I also bought a helmet that had scratches and was the only one in stock in that brand. I told the same Walmart employee about it. He gave me a nice discount. Store greeter was friendly on exit. He warned me how fast the scooter is. He's skinny like me. So it probably can go faster for skinny folks like us. Other than the employee lying about stock, since I can order for same day pick up after purchasing "only one in stock," this was a great experience I think the Walmart employee was probably told to misrepresent stock to discourage multiple purchases. This Walmart may not please anyone in the aesthetics department but it excels in customer service. First, the pickup area staff was prompt and friendly, helpful and pretty great! Then we entered the store to meet friendly greeters. While needing assistance with directions, every employee was not only helpful but totally accurate. We immediately got through checkout smoothly. This really helped save time. Same smiling people upon leaving. Walmart can be surprising with the availability of some hard to find items and good prices. Two well worn tee shirts purchased in a Walmart some years back are still in great shape. Comparable but much more expensive Nordstrom items often don't fare as well. I live 3 minutes away from this Walmart. I love this Walmart because I am always heading here after work which is 9pm. The workers are always so sweet! The night shift really is the best!!! Also, unlike Paramount and Carson Walmart, they actually show up to open ups the cases when you need something locked up. One of them would be the light skinned young man who is always there to open them up for us. Peter was a sweet person and came and helped us with getting some locked up items for us! So let me get out the bad. Parking is decent but a nightmare at the entrance as we all know and love however I believe there should be a bigger area by the doors to walk around each other than being in the parking lot and doing that. Also, park farther away from the front doors. If you standing in front of the doors go more to the AutoZone. Yes I know you'll have to walk farther but trust me getting out of the parking lot is much easier. The place is small like smaller than the Lakewood Walmart. It has everything you'll need in terms of food supplies but for cooking it has an ok variety of stuff and if you're looking for a very Pacific item chances are you might not find it here or is so hidden you'll have to find it because the staff doesn't know where things are. (tip try the auto/housing stuff area that they have 50/50 that it's there like tape) They have more self-checkout lines but the traffic to get out is kinda bad because you'll have to kinda squeeze around each other when it's super busy. Be aware a lot of things are locked behind glass but mainly small items like deodorant, pills, some car items, etc. Also just like any Walmart now black Friday is scamming you so just be aware of false tags! Same with those "rollback" deals always look behind the Tag just to make sure it's what you getting! The good stuff now. It's small so less people than in Lakewood. They have kinda more food supplies in terms of cheese, butter, bread lots of bread. They have a decent-sized indoor/ outdoor area. Some staff are very nice and fun to joke with so don't be a stranger when they don't look busy. For EBT, SNAP Card holders. Take notice, either Walmart is trying to nickel and dime you now (literally, charging me 10 cts for CRV plastic Drink) or DPSS SNAP has not informed us we have to pay it out of pocket. It was never so. I am a SNAP card holder for few years now. In addition, a young female employee with dyed blond hair and a team lead by name of Nee, made it an inconvenience when i was paying self check out. they first couldnt explain or care to explain the 10cts since I had no bag to purchase, and even if i did, SNAP pays for it. I had only food, and all items had been rang thru. The young employee entered her password, scanned her ID, and to be short, ended up making the small issue worst, since I had the 10 cts to put in machine, she screwed it up and had to use another register, so They had to run all items over to make the assumption it was 10cts i owe for CRV. All of them are not only incompetent, but at no moment i was offered an apology or made the process simpler and faster for me since i was becoming irritated taking too long. They chat so much amongst themselves, most of the, employees, they are bumpin into each other and customers, cause there are so many of them in the aisles, everywhere, even restrooms, there are usually two or three when one as a customer has to use the restroom or wash hands. And assistance, 'what do you mean'? told me one of them! It is unbelievable, and a shame of our customer service experience. Lorraine the manager on site should be shape up and ship out. I just want to say I am absolutely disgusted by what I experienced tonight at this Walmart. I have came to this Walmart numerous times without any issues. I came in, saw some clothes I wanted to try on. I couldn't find an associate anywhere near the fitting rooms, so I went to find one at the front. When I walked up 2 associates, they didn't acknowledge me at all. I asked very nicely if someone can help me with the fitting rooms. They didn't even turn my direction, they checked their phone and said, "it closed at 9:00." I checked my watch and it was 9:03. I was in shock they said this. I went to the front to find a manager by guest services. No one was around so I asked another female hispanic associate who I saw walking into guest services if they can assist me with the fitting room. She didn't acknowledge me, and as she was walking she said, "it closes at 9:00," until she was behind the wall. I asked her, "so 5 minutes ago?" She goes yes FROM BEHIND THE WALL!! So I waited for her to come back out and I asked her is there a manager. This woman kept walking and didn't acknowledge me again and she just pointed to a cashier. I walked up and explained to him nicely that I had a few items I wanted to try on and that if I didn't waste time hunting down an employee because they are never around, I wouldn't be experiencing this inconvenience. He wasn't even a manager, and he told me he thinks they close the fitting rooms at 9:00. I asked him if there is another manager and he said yes his name is Anthony. He tried to page him on the walkin talkie. Then I all of a sudden see the one of the first original employees (the first 2 ladies I walked up to at 9:03) walk by and he says to them, "do the fitting rooms close at 9:00?" I heard her say yes all loud. So I was so over this. I went to a different department to ask for the manager Anthony. The employee was nice and said yes he was just called to the front so he went to the front. So I walked to the front and see him and I could see him walking from where the employees I already encountered were at, so he knew the situation. Let me start with - HE WASN'T A MANAGER - HIS BADGE SAID "LEAD" I explained to him very nicely the situation and when he responded, it didn't make any sense. He said, "yes there is a designated employee with the key and they went home for the day." I asked, "wait so the employee takes the fitting room key home with them?" He said, "no they leave it here." I said, "oh okay well do you mind if I try on clothes?" He said, "it closed at 9:00" I explained to him I asked someone at 9:03 and if I hadn't been hunting down someone around the fitting room in the first place, it wouldn't have been 9:00, and I wouldn't be here. He basically stayed quiet I said, "are you serious?" He stared at me and I told him that I'm going to have to call corporate. He said, "thats fine you are entitled to that." Rather than making a customer happy, this employee chose to stick by his co workers to prove a point or to act tough. I called corporate right then and there. I cannot believe this. People are so lazy. Instead of being lazy and rude, they could have easily said no problem and opened it. Honestly, it's not like they mop, clean, or sanitize them?
