My neighborhood Rite Aid--I come here for those random ice cream and popscicle runs (and the Thrifty's here is pretty good) and as my local pharmacy. As a pharmacy, it's honestly somewhat of a crap shoot--I've gotten prescriptions filled here with the wrong amount of tablets, and overall the folks there sometimes seem a little apathetic when it comes to dealing with customers. Maybe they see a lot of things, but they aren't always the most helpful and lines can tend to be long. Prices are what you'd expect for a convenience store. Definitely not a happy camper when I had to make a late night flour run here when I ran out of flour and had to pay $9 for a smaller flour container, but at least it was there! All in all, I'm happy this place is open 24/7. I do wish the exterior of this place was slightly cleaner, but that's not always their fault. read more

This store is beyond pitiful. I usually don't take time to review but felt it was needed. I have visited this horrible location on 2 occasions. The egregious errors are beyond belief. 1. The store has nearly no stock. Every isle was bare. Couldn't get basics like paper towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent and hair projects. They were out of EVERYTHING. And this wasn't even during the pandemic. 2. There were nasty homeless people all in the parking lot and I was harassed 3 times just trying to go from my car to the store door. 3. Understaffed with nearly no help. I asked a shop attendant about basic supplies .. She knew nothing. I asked if the store was going out of business? I couldn't believe the lack of merchandise. 4. Brash attitude from an employee. Tacky and unprofessional. Will NEVER go there every again. I had to to go to Trader's so stopped in a CVS on PCH and easily got everything I needed in less than 5 minutes. And thought why did I waste my time going into that trashy ghetto Rite Aid. read more

I have been meaning to write a review for months, because I've had a very positive experience here overall. In particular, Sandra is one of the kindest, warmest people I've ever met and she deserves all the praise not to mention a raise. For example, once she perceived my intense distress over a complicated situation involving my Rx and travel plans. I was trying to hide my feelings but she sensed them, then went above and beyond to comfort me and provide emotional and logistical support. She is an absolute angel! read more

Is this location getting ready to close? I don't think they have done any restocking in over a month. The shelves are always bare.

Today is Saturday the 29th who ever was closing today needs to be fired the location says it closes at 12 am and I am a Uber driver who just got a 38 dollar order if you do Uber you know that's pretty rare for less then 10 miles and the employees made me lose that money (which mind u is what I use to feee my family) by closing extra early who ever was working today I hope u get fired sincerely thanks for nothing read more

The pharmacy here is terrible. My doctor frequently sends over prescriptions which they are supposed to fill. They won't fill them unless I call them. Then they are super rude and say oh won't be ready for another 4 hours! One of the workers there is super rude and has raised her voice at me a few times. I only go here bc it's down the street from where I live. So the only reason I am Giving it two stars is bc of the location. read more

This Rite Aid is conveniently located in my neighborhood. I only go occasionally due to the homeless and sketchy people that hang out there. So the other day, I walked over to get a few items. The store was fairly quiet, only a few people at the register. So I waited in line, next to be helped. There were two cashiers, a lady and "Nick". Nick was the next available cashier. As always, I waited to be called up, but that never happened. No... next.. I can help you.. or even a wave. So, I walked up and put my 3 items on the counter. Nick rang me up with no greeting of any kind, barely any eye contact, and didn't ask me if I wanted a bag, or did I have a phone number for my discount? So Nick tells me the total, which seemed a little high knowing the price of each item I had purchased. After getting my change and receipt, I stopped to double-check but forgot my glasses. I asked Nick if he could tell me the price of the bread? Nick, in return, rudely replied it's on your receipt! Now, I'm annoyed by his rude and sarcastic service. I take a moment, then reply, I wouldn't be asking if I could see it. He said, "Oh! then reached for the receipt. I told him not to bother and asked for his name. He pointed at his name tag and said, "Nick with attitude I didn't appreciate. I asked for the Managers name, which happened to be standing near him, he said David. Yes! complaint time, but David was assisting a customer, and I had already wasted my time on someone who clearly doesn't need to be working with the public. Only giving 2 stars because the front store staff is nice, even though they are always backed up. The self checkouts are lifesavers though. If I were just rating on the pharmacy staff, it would be 0 stars if possible. The pharmacy staff is so incompetent and rude, that it makes ME be rude back to them and I've worked in retail pharmacy before, so I usually am never rude and have so much empathy. Nothing is ever ready on time- even when I arrive HOURS after they tell me it will be ready, it never is. Their tone is always snarky and there have been so many miscommunications that it just can't be chalked up to coincidences - especially since I still work in the pharmacy field and know 100% how the process works. Inevitably, they always screw up my orders too. Every time I call in regarding a prescription I get different answers from different people (if they have received it, when it will be ready, if there's a problem filling it or not, etc.) If they are going to be late on everything and always screw up, they could at least be NICE... but that is asking too much. read more

Wow this pharmacy is horrible. Took forever for a refill, they told me to come back in an hour for the meds and when I came back, they said they were out of stock? Meanwhile some Karen is in line in front of me crying for her antibiotics and another creepy lady is staring at me from the seat next to me with the blankest eyes ever and breathing her horrible breath on me cause the chairs are so close. Pharmacy review only: This is my neighborhood pharmacy. I have been coming here for about 5 years now. I tried...I triiiiiied but every prescription refill I have an issue. It's like clock work. It's the same prescription. They seem to never have the correct notes in their system. We do the same song and dance every refill. How?! Why???? Where is the disconnect??! I call my Dr every time and they say, the written prescription is there. I ask the pharmacy and...no, we have nothing and can't refill your prescription. I take my prescription for pain management and have had to endure some inconvenient painful episodes because they can't get it together. The only thing pleasant about this pharmacy is the nice lady who keeps things clean and organized at the register. She's a gem. Getting a refill should not be this difficult. After 5 years, I'm done and have moved on to a new pharmacy even if it's a bit inconvenient and out of the way. read more

Love the folks in the pharmacy here! I had a wonderful experience with the woman (forgive me I don't remember your name at the moment) but she collects pens. I watched the pen lady interact with others and she was friendly and cheerful. Great customer service! Gloria was also fantastic she went above and beyond when calling in. I appreciate you all in the pharmacy, great work, keep it up! The manager is also very kind. Pharmacy: I recently filled a new prescription. The assistant called a pharmacist over for consultation. The pharmacist just stared at me. I asked what the dosage is on the new scrip and when to take it. She said, "Read the label." I had questions about the other one but she walked away before I could. What's the point of calling her over if she's just going to be annoyed that I'm wasting her time? There's a couple people behind the counter there that are adequate but most of them are rude or indifferent. I hate going there but it's the only pharmacy in my neighborhood. read more

I'm seeing a lot of positive and negative reviews from this Rite Aid, but I always have a good experience. Convenience stores have to be relatively hard to run and manage and I think they do a pretty good job about it. Thomas, no matter what, greets guests with a "Welcome to Rite Aid!!", and it's super sweet and genuine. There is a beautiful person with blue hair that is always SO caring at the register too, they have always put a smile on my face and make the best little small-talk. The store is always so clean. Seems completely stocked too, even during COVID! They just seem to really have their act together, unlike a lot of convenience stores! This is my regular pharmacy too, and I always get very quick and attentive service, and feel quite at ease if I have any questions. I guess my one complaint is that the line at the front can definitely get long at times. Also, they have three self-checkout stations, but I usually only see one open at a time... and if you have alcohol or are paying with cash you're unable to use it! On top of this, I've definitely only have ever seen two regular lanes open. I will say that when the lines ARE super long, they get through them pretty quickly. Perhaps this could be addressed to management/looked at! They aren't open 24 hours right now, and maybe this should be updated on their page! I think the general public understands that most stores won't be 24/7 during COVID, but the edit on Yelp would really help this confusion! read more

This place has very rude staff at the pharmacy, one of the staff didn't accept an old lady who had to sit on a chair instead of standing on the line. She rudely demanded her to give up her spot and go back in the line just because she wasn't STANDING in the line from the beginning. She insisted on her direction even though the old lady said to her that she had back issues and couldn't stand up for a long time. You need to get rid of the staff who have temper and are rude especially to elderly. read more

Rite Aid pharmacy. Pharmacist are very slow you don't refill your prescriptions in a timely manner typically have to call and remind them about your refills or prescriptions. My phone is set up to our alert me when the prescription is ready for pick up but I never receive any replies. And if you do have to speak with someone the pharmacist are not very friendly I do not recommend this pharmacy read more

This is my favorite Rite Aid! Its so close to my house too. The staff is always super helpful and friendly. The store is really clean and the shelves always seem to be fully stocked. The pharmacy is great and the staff is always so friendly to me. I feel like many of the staff members go above and beyond. Plenty of parking too which is a plus in Long Beach. read more

Worst customer service at the pharmacy. The pharmacist was rude and was talking about me with her back turned to me with a coworker as if she had a problem and as if I couldn't hear. After she walked off, I asked the coworker is there an issue with me and she responded no, she was saying she told her my prescription wasn't available. The pharmacist (an Asian lady, only way I can describe her. Not trying to sound racist or rude, I promise I love everyone equally. Sat in line for 38 minutes to buy a bottle of rubbing alcohol. I started my timer after standing in line for about 15 so it was more like an hour. Absolute fucking joke. Ice cream!!!!!!! Rite Aide comes to mind when I'm in the mood for a scoop of Thrifty's. I don't even care that the 1.75 quart tub is buy one, get one free and that would essentially mean way more bang for my buck (at $2.50 each tub)... I want a scoop from the counter! This is my all time favorite Rite Aide. I've been coming here since I was old enough to walk. It's located right on the corner of Cherry and Broadway right next to the park before reaching the beach. The area is very nice, it's quite historic. There's plenty of parking always as there's a private parking lot. This Rite Aid is always very clean, very organized, and very well stocked. I love that. Although I must agree with other Yelpers commenting on long lines, this is due to only one register (2 max) open for checkout. And anytime someone lines up at the ice cream counter, this also adds to the checkout lines getting longer. Take all other factors into consideration and it's worth the occasional lengthy wait. There's always some really great deals on their ads and in store promotions for reward/club card members. Make sure you sign up for their club card -it's free! You'll save a few bucks on many items, as things can get pricey here. All employees have always been very polite and helpful at this location. Did I mention it's open 24 hours?! It takes good service to lift this massive chain out of dregs of low esteem. The store is neat, well stocked for the most part and organzed. It was a customer-hating manager that made us choose to shop elsewhere. Yesterday, an excellent employee changed our perception. Her name is Kryssa, working in pharmacy. Bf was suffering from "excruciating" toe pain that might have been cured by a recently sought pedicure (if men had to wear high heels they might not admire them so much). Kryssa made sure that he found the best topical product to alleviate his "agony". The result was that further purchases were made that would not have under the previous regime. Another customer agreed that Kryssa provided much needed help with expert manner. read more

This review is specific to Sandra in the pharmacy. She is comically rude. My household calls her the Pharmacy Gestapo. I started writing this when she bit off the head of some tiny elderly lady for asking a question without waiting in the long line. This store would get 5 stars if it wasn't for Sandra. She's the kind of woman who will watch you wait in line for 15 minutes with 10 items and will only tell you it's 5 items or less when you get to the register and yes, I was also picking up a prescription. There's no sign saying that it's 5 items or less and no other pharmacy cashier has ever enforced it. It's Sandra's personal rule I guess. I feel bad for her coworkers. read more

I've put up with the unresponsive mess and late refills since this rite aid is so close to me but now I'll never use this pharmacy again. They lack empathy and knowledge. My prescription was sent to 2 rite aids because I've used both in the past and the other one filled it first (no surprises there). I called this cherry location to make sure they'd be filling it and they said since it was filled by the other pharmacy they would not fill it until the next refill a month later and that there was absolutely nothing they could do. I called the other rite aid in tears hoping they could help me or somehow cancel it on their end. The pharmacist was so nice and assured me this was not an issue at all, all cherry had to do was pull the prescription and fill it on their end. I explained to her what I'd been told and she said they didn't know what they were talking about. Shitty customer service is one thing but endangering people with negligence is unacceptable. This Rite Aid has gone downhill. With more homeless coming in from LA/Expo line, it's not the same 'neighborhood pharmacy' anymore. Pharmacy is actually alright. Stock on seasonal candy and beauty items are usually on point. Same lady outside day in and day out collecting money but I ignore her as usual. It's navigating or standing next to someone who clearly has a regular dog vs. service animal. What happened to those days when dogs stayed at home like they're supposed to? What Lawsuits waiting to happen once a random dog bites another customer or child. Wait and see. These dogs in this generation has gone all wussy pussy. No wonder home security camera companies are making a killing. Cause all the dogs are at Rite Aid! Get the City Health department on this and enforce the no regular dogs/comfort animals. Wish the Rite Aid would go back to 2010 days. More elbow room in the aisles. No dogs. read more
