Getting prescriptions filled anywhere these days is always a pain, but I will wait in Sandra's line any time! This person is an absolute delight. She sanitizes the pens, counter and key pad after each person and personally makes sure each person has a good experience and feels valued and cared for. Last year my insurance company tried to charge me a $400 copay for a medication I normally pay $20 for. I needed it filled before I went out of town. I burst into tears in the line in front of everyone. Sandra immediately came around the counter and brought me into the consultation room, gave me a hug and talked to me until I calmed down enough to call my insurance company. It all eventually got sorted, and I will never forget Sandra's kindness that day. Give this woman a raise! Everyone I know who uses this pharmacy has a story about how awesome Sandra is. The pharmacy is very hit or miss. I was a decades long employee of the Rite Aid in Naples and when they closed my prescription was sent here. I worked with a pharmacy tech named Carlos the past 2 days who could not have been more rude. I arrived at 5:55pm yesterday and was able to pick up one med but was rudely told that the pharmacy closed at 6pm and he actually started closing the rolling door while I was standing there. I came back the next day (midday) to see if my prescription was ready. I got Carlos again and he told me it was not ready yet and then told me to sit. I asked how long the wait would be and he turned his back on me and muttered. I called him out on it and told him that this was two days in a row where I have dealt with his rudeness. He lacked accountability and asked what I wanted. I responded, "Be Kind. " Carlos is not the type of employee Rite Aid should employ as he lacks courtesy and is rude. It is pretty well-established around this neighborhood that this Rite Aid is consistently understaffed. Legitimately don't think I have ever gone in and not had to wait in line. Christ, hire some more damn people. You can just see the frustration and anger on everyone's face when they're standing there in a line 12 people deep, and there is one cashier working. One more thing. As someone else pointed out, it is like a goddamn kennel in there half the time. Please start enforcing the no pets allowed policy. This review is for Mauricio the supervisor and their ridiculously dumb POS system. I was sold a defective product and wanted to exchange it and before I exchanged it I wanted to check to see if the same defect was in the new one and it was. I decided to exchange it for the more expensive item and buy 1 other product. I had put the receipt in the bag but on my scooter ride from my place to the rite aid it either flew out or it fell behind something when they open the bag but the point is I didn't have a receipt. I had bought the product like 30 mins ago and apparently they have no way of reprinting receipts or pulling up transactions from 30 mins ago. What kind of POS are they using when you can't see the transaction for the day? At every retail job I've ever had I've been able to look up transaction or reprint receipts but whatever. Now I'm getting frustrated and he's heard me say "my receipt was in the bag" at least 3 times by now and as a supervisor he says "well you should have brought the receipt" how would that help the situation in any way? Well you shouldn't have sold me a defective product! As a supervisor is it a good idea to tell the frustrated customer that? Would the customer who was sold a defective product and had to come back to exchange it for a more expense product be happy to be told "you should have brought your receipt" when he has said repeatedly that it was in the bag. Let's break this down. 1. I was sold a defective product and had to come back to exchange the product that I had bought 30 mins prior but was only going to get credit for half because I didn't have the receipt. 2. Mauricio the supervisor got puffy and belittled the customer during a frustrating situation. His poor coworker found a solution to the problem... just FYI a supervisors job is to deescalate situations and find solutions. 3. Their million dollar POS system does not have the ability to reprint receipts or look up transactions from 30 mins prior or the SUPERVISOR does not have the knowledge to reprint receipts or look up transactions both are not great representations of the company I will continue to shop their because normally it's a pleasant experience and I shop their all the time but I hope Mauricio's supervisor reads this and trains him on empathy, listening to the customer, deescalting situation and finding solutions. read more

Honestly, I haven't been feeling well and every time I walk in I just want to get my meds and leave but the two pharmacy's techs I've come into contact with I believe Carlos and maybe Sandra? They have really been so nice and welcoming as well as knowledgeable. It feels nice to have interactions with people who genuinely seem to care. This review is for the pharmacy. I use this location because it is walking distance from my home. I have used the pharmacy about 8-times now and have yet to have a good experience here. I don't know why, but most of the pharmacy workers I have encountered have been short, and come across abrasive, like they arent very interested in helping you and dont like their job very much. Front of the store has always been great on the few occasions when I paid for something there...this score is for the pharmacy. I see that going back to 2018 people are writing terrible reviews for the pharmacy and the problems are exactly the same as today. I can NEVER pick up a prescription within even ten minutes...it's always 20-30 minutes. I've even been just third in line and it still took that long. Often, only one staffer is at the window no matter how long the line is. Twice the one staffer was dealing with a problem with a customer such as insurance and no one came up to help those of us waiting simply waiting for pick up. One day a manager (?) had to come back to the pharmacy and tell a customer that he had been at the window for thirty minutes and would have to leave the store. I'm assuming he was a problem in some way, but THIRTY MINUTES before he was kicked out...and still no one came to the second window to help waiting customers. My doctor called in asthma medicine for me yesterday. I deliberately waited 24 hours before attempting to pick it up along with other Rx's. A friend picked them up for me because standing in line is hard for me especially because I'd run out of meds. Friend came home with a bag...no asthma meds. I called the pharmacy, I was on hold for ten minutes due to previous customer, pharmacist said yes, my MD had called in the meds but they hadn't filled the order yet. She could fill it now if I wanted to come back. Hmmm...how much do I need help with breathing? Enough to drive there myself and wait in one of your interminable lines, or to call my friend to go back and wait in one of your interminable lines? Rite Aid had sent me texts saying my prescription was ready and since there were multiple texts I assumed they were ready. Nope. Text doesn't identify which Rx. Why do we have to write to another website to complain? Can't the owner hire and fire people? The pharmacist apparently has to ask every customer if he/she needs to talk to him which causes him to have to stop what he's doing every time a customer is being rung up. Can the window staffer just ask and then get the pharmacist if someone needs information? Worst managed store ever. It's farther for me but I guess I need to go back to CVS. I am so angry at this pharmacy. I was prescribed medications by my allergist to be sent to this pharmacy, and I received the medication. I had a huge suspicion to not take one of the medications and thought that I should research it. I found out that this medication had nothing to do with allergies, but it was to treat high blood pressure, which I do not have. I contacted the pharmacy manager, and he informed me that this medication was an accident made by one of the technicians who failed to look at the right name, even though my name was somewhat spelled like someone else. This is honestly something that should have never happened, I literally could have had major illness and even died. Beware of this pharmacy. they suck! we went for pride and my phone died and I had just called Uber they wouldn't ensure my safety that me and my girlfriend got home safely after I just purchased alcohol and snacks! the security guy was having a power trip so hopefully you do not run into Dylan because he couldn't have been any ruder! This review is for Lana, Pharmacist. This employee is rude to customers, almost hostile. I dropped off a prescription for 3 meds on my way to work, not needing them til later in the day. Lana was rude from the start and after me asking 2 simple questions her response "if you stop talking and take a seat, I will call the doctor" ?? Excuse me, but wtf did she just say to me for no reason??? There was no need to call the doctor(she was incorrect & didn't call the dr) and no need for her to order me to "stop taking and take a seat" I didn't expect the medicine to be ready in a timely manner, but I did expect to be able to drop it off without being spoken to in such a manner. I complained to the manager about her rude, insulting attitude. The rest of the employees at the store are great, hard working, and friendly-5 stars :) When I went to pick up the meds later on in the day, the rep was nice, no issues or problems. I was promised by Carlos late last night that he would get this done first thing today in the Am since he wanted to go home and close the store. I agreed. I came to visit my family in lbc. It has gotten super busy since the last time I really walked around this area. I forgot to bring milk for my son and decided to walk because there's no way I can find parking again. The min. I walked into this Rite Aid I got greeted by the security guard. This was new. We are in lbc and a worker just greeted me. I usually put my head down and just go straight to the products I need but I was shocked. I looked up and couldn't believe almost every employee looked calm and enjoyed being there. Did Rite Aid fired upper management? Walking towards the milk area, I was dreaming they would have organic whole milk and there it was. I couldn't believe it was in a Rite Aid. I got to the register line and it was longest line I had ever been in Rite Aid. But in 5 mins., I was at the register. They have a crazy system that got people moving faster then any place I seen. It was very efficient. While I was in line, I heard a lady greeting the gentleman behind me. She was super peppy and had a positive vibe. She was the manager! This is my neighborhood pharmacy in more ways than one. Sure, it's right around the corner from my building so we can easily walk there, but it's also one of the friendliest places I've ever shopped. We're there often for prescriptions and many other of the thousands of items they have available -- cosmetics, first aid and OTC medications, wrapping paper, etc. Even grocery items we need in a hurry. The staff is friendly and helpful. I'm glad we live so close, but I would drive to to this Rite-Aid if we didn't. read more

Short version: This Rite Aid is open all the time, the employees know where things are and can direct you to them, the pharmacy will listen to you and help you out if you need it, and in general this place is pretty pleasant. Long version: So this Rite Aid is in a very busy, dense, urban area of Long Beach. Often times, lines can pile up. Often times, it's understaffed or people might be on break or things like that, so there's not really much that can be done. Tonight was one of those nights. There was only one checker tonight at the front. Her name is Pamela. She sees the line piling up, and instead of sighing and getting annoyed and bothered about things; instead of passive aggressively calling other employees who just left to take a break before the line piled up, she was proactive and did something about it. Pamela opened up two registers and started ringing people up two at a time, by herself. She did it all quickly, efficiently, with a smile on her face, and while talking to customers while they checked out. She held up multiple conversations at once, and was checking out multiple customers, and she did it without skipping a beat. She asked for ID for everyone when ID was needed, she popped the child-safe lids off of liquor for customers, and she did all of this double-time on two registers. Pamela went above and beyond. There's no way Rite Aid pays her enough to care that much. She did that because it was the right thing to do, and because she realized that it sucks to be waiting in line while there aren't many checkers to help you out. Beware of their racsist employee. Imagine being in the store at 2 AM, there's one other customer in there besides you, and of course, she's white. The white female employee decides to overhead page security to do a security check, then that same employee comes to the aisle I was just in, YELLING to security across the store about all the items that have been recently stolen from that aisle. The pharmacy staff are great and I've never had a problem with any of the employees either. The wellness program has its perks too. Selections are good and lots of buy one get one free specials is always a plus, especially on skin care products. Whatever you do - I'd find another place to get a COVID test. They were rude and obnoxious. Behind the double glass the "nurse" screamed to put on your mask after the swab made me sneeze. The swab makes everyone sneeze and me in my car and she behind thick glass she was in no danger. It took a week to book an appt snd they say it can take 10 days to get results. It's been 4 days so far. A closer look and you can see that Rite Aide has joined forces with the governor of California to do this. It's called Project Baseline. It all makes sense now. So I called yesterday to this Rite Aid and the manager on duty answer and I asked if she had a bottle of basil Hayden bourbon and what the price was. She said I'm a go check took about five minutes she said yes I have two of them. I asked how much they were she said $34.95. I then asked her to put one aside for me I would be in tomorrow. So I go in tonight and pick it up it has my name on the bottle say Flor John Patricj ha ha Ha. But I got charged $58. After realizing this, I went back to the store and talk to the general manager. He said the sale ended at midnight yesterday but he would still honor my price and gave me $18 back. I've been patronizing Rite Aid for years and it's time to give back some love. To begin, I appreciate that it's located within a historic building and across the street from Bixby Park. It's warm and bright inside especially since the renovation. Helpful staff and the pharmacists are knowledgeable and nice. I agree with Sheri S. on this one; where would I have been without them the 5 years we were near here? Yummy ice cream, nice staff, and a small selection of a giant array of products. From office supplies to vitamins, and just about everything in between-ya can't go wrong here, folks. Sure, there's usually someone outside asking for money for their charity or even just for themselves. Homeless peeps frequently hit me up in the parking lot, but whatever. It's no different than anywhere else in LB.. I know it can be annoying always having people beg at you but it's just another day in the life here; I pick my battles more carefully and choose to overlook the bad because there is SO much more good to concentrate on. Like how on the way to work I got a runner in my hose, THANKGAWD Rite Aid is on my way. One quick stop and $5 later and I was back in business. If there's a longish line, I usually try to pay at the pharmacy or even in the ice cream line. Sometimes I wonder where I would be without this RiteAid. I would be without ICE, I would be without an occasional ICE CREAM, and I would be without the most convenient place to get a bottle of vanilla vodka. IT'S NOT A PRETTY PICTURE PEOPLE! Moving on...yikes, that wasn't fun. This RiteAid is lucky enough to be right across the street from our apartment, they are graced with our patronage once a week, if not more. Over the year that we have lived here we have purchased a wide variety of items...wind chimes for the living room, spices, the toilet paper roll thing that holds the toilet paper in the wall, we have purchased needs, we have purchased wants and they have ALWAYS been there when we needed them. Their staff is super friendly. There is frequently a very long line at the check out and they do their very best to move it along with a smile. I can live without the petitioners and people asking for money hanging outside the front door, but it's a small price to pay for such convenience.
