OVER 1 YEAR UPDATE! I've increased my rating from 1 to 3 stars and heres why. Had a bit of an issue over a year ago with an employee who scolded me for "riding my bike in the store". I parked inside as the rack outside was full and it's a $4,000 Super73 electric bike so having in inside with surveillance cameras facing it makes me feel safer about it. I've also been doing that for 5 years or so before the ordeal happened so it's not like it was my first time parking inside. Now the space between the end cap and the parking spot was tight so mounting on the bike and pushing it carefully backwards and out was the best option as i didn't want to knock anything over. The bike's main power switch was off during the whole ordeal by the way. Unfortunately the clerk didn't like i was on my bike moving it less than 1mph so she proceeded to yell at me about it. Anyhow that's neither here nor there. While the situation has passed and i said i wouldn't be giving this rite aid any more of my buisness i had to come back in as my parents still get their meds from here. I have moved out of California so i'm not here often anymore. Well, I stepped foot inside this rite aid for the first time in over a year and i noticed a few things. 1. the space I used to park my bike is way more open and easier to access then before. however I didn't use it as I drove my dad's car here. 2. Over the course of a week I've been in and out of this rite aid grabbing my amazon deliveries and my dad's meds and haven't seen the clerk who gave me attitude. 3. The store shelves seem more empty than usual and selection of items is not what it used to be. 4. The pharmacy staff are much friendlier than before and i had a nice experience over the week i was home, however the wait times do seem a bit slow. Overall seems things are getting better though a better selection of items and slightly lower wait times for the pharmacy would make this review 5 stars. read more

Old guy was really weird. he told us to get the hell out because we were using a 70% off sign as a fan and he snatched it out of my hand. The location is closing so he will probably have to get the hell out too like okay twin. Its never that serious especially when youre that old. read more

I really want this place to be better and do better. But they never do. They're perpetually understaffed, so don't come here unless you have 30 minutes to spare (longer if you need something behind a locked cabinet). They're also perpetually understocked of most items. We miss the Naples location even though this one is closer to me (we never had an issue getting ice cream there) After about 10+ times of being turned away from this location lately, I'm finally writing this review. My 10 year old son loves the Thrifty Ice Cream. Whenever I want to treat him to ice cream, out of all places he wants to go here for an scoop/cone of some cotton candy ice cream! This locations thrifty freezers are ALWAYS down or broken. Even once they are briefly back up,shortly after they are down again. Including the freezers where you can just buy the pints to take home. The other day we went yet again, the freezer was apparently fixed but they had no ice cream. It's a bit frustrating to be turned away so many times. Please resolve this issue! read more

I have lived in this area for 40 years and as such used to go to Rocky's independently-owned pharmacy a long, long time ago. Then, it was Thrifty's followed by Rite-Aid. Love the staff at this Rite pharmacy and also the staff across the entire store. Super sharp. We feel very luck to have all them here. Everyone in the store that works there is very helpful whether you are picking up a prescription or buying something else in the store. The pharmacists are especially knowledgeable and helpful, even though they are extremely busy. I rarely have to wait, but if I do it is at worst 5 minutes. Well worth the wait for the knowledge and helpful and friendly service. Thank you, Rite-Aid!! read more

This store no longer has self check-out apparently because there's so much theft. This makes shopping at this location inconvenient. On top of this, they haven't added any cashiers, so the wait is long. Advice to staff: if you see a line forming, keep your customer interactions to a minimum, you're losing even more business because people don't want to wait. The other day, a man and the cashier were just chatting away while 4 of us stood there. I finally had to walk out otherwise I'd be late for work. Call another checker FFS. On top of that, the store hardly carries anything anymore. I honestly don't know how Rite Aid is staying in business. The amount of lost sales due to out of stocks must be insane. "Did you save room for dessert?" Yes, and I'm going to save $8 by going to Rite Aid for it. So glad this exists on 2nd St, so we can have good ole Thrifty ice cream after a not-so-thrifty meal. Their "single" scoops are double scoops in disguise, and their colossal is "three" (more like 5-6) very generous scoops on a waffle cone. The staff is not super friendly or helpful here. I stopped here to get essentials and of course they were out of toilet paper and other essentials. I asked the cashier when they get products delivered and she said she had no idea. I asked her if they deliver weekly and she said yes but wouldn't provide me the day and I just need to "show up" daily. I gave up and went home and ordered all essentials ( even TP) via Amazon and it will be delivered in 3 days. read more

So, as I'm writing, I have been on hold at Rite Aid pharmacy for 43 minutes, after calling 5 previous times and being on hold between 2 and 24 minutes, before being hung up on. That confirms that this is not a fully automated system where the computer hangs up on you after a prescribed time, but rather a "person" does, on the other end. The last time I had to pick up a prescription, I went through the same thing, so I called back to speak with the store "manager", who was probably just a cashier up front. He said that, because of Covid, the pharmacy was just too busy. So I called back, and after waiting on hold again for 30 minutes, I decided to actually visit the pharmacy, while on hold. As I walked right up to the desk, which had no one in line, I asked why the pharmacy wasn't taking any calls. She said "we were probably too busy earlier", so I showed her my phone, which showed Rite Aid pharmacy with a hold time of 46 minutes and counting. read more

Not sure why this store has poor reviews. Have been coming to the Belmont Shore Rite Aid for years and other than running out of ice cream (a couple of years back) during a weekend in August, they really provide great service. The pharmacy team gets a special shout out. The team of Leslie and Kang (pharmacists) and Meng, Sharon, and Charish (pharmacy techs) are unbelievable. They multitask constantly, filling prescriptions, answering phones and working the patient window all while providing great service, communication and professional knowledge. They've stepped up their game here but, you still have the usaul long Rite Aid lines to hell at the register; they do now more often call up another cashier but, this manager wanted show her button pushing prowess and did get us all through quickly. This is my favorite Rite Aid in SoCal. I don't know why. Maybe because whenever I'm walking around 2nd Street, I'm usually in a pretty good mood. It's normally after having eaten a nice meal, or gotten my haircut, or met up with some friends and we saunter into Rite Aid for a scoop of ice cream. The people behind the counter are always really friendly and you don't have to stand around waiting for someone to show up. The ice cream guy seems to be THE ice cream guy, and not the guy who was just stocking the insecticide shelves a minute ago. All Rite Aids should emulate this one and staff their profit-center (aka ice cream counter) with friendly, customer-oriented people. Then maybe us ice cream goers will be more likely to turn around and buy some other stuff from the store. read more

This place although smaller than your average Rite-Aid it definitely makes things easier to find. I felt like I knew where to find things since I didn't have to ask as I usually do... feeling like a lost child with no one to ask for help... lol. Here I was able to find everything and get in and out in a breeze. One of the cashiers really made people come in with a smile as he greeted everyone coming and going. I'm here pretty much all the time since I live on Belmont Shore. While their prices aren't exactly cheap for things like milk, they have everything I need when I don't have enough time to go to Target or Wal-mart or something. The employees are always really nice. They help me find things when I need it, and they were kind about letting me bring my puppy into the store as long as I held him and didn't put him on the ground. After standing in line at the Fed Building in LA for 2 hours I was told they are no good/over exposed and I had to leave to take new pics then go through the whole process again. The reason why they pump Barry Manilow outside with speakers is to discourage the street musicians, it seems to work quite well. I find this Rite Aid to be very well stocked and they offer free parking in a very congested area. On the downside, they are short-staffed so there is always a line. read more
