I want to give the highest praise to Vina, a phenomenal pharmacist at the CVS location on 2nd street in Long Beach. Today, I went to CVS to deal with a fiasco regarding my meds. Turns out my refill prescription (which I had gotten at CVS in December 2025) was sent to the mail order company I had previously used. No explanation from my doctor's office regarding why this happened. Vina calmly explained this glitch to me. She then contacted my doctor and the pharmacist at the mail order pharmacy and had my script transferred. Problem solved. But things couldn't have been resolved this quickly without Vina's help. Great location. I didn't use to go into cvs that much for some reason before I moved to California. But this store is close and Inpass it often. I noticed that they always have great deals and are very well stocked. Great personnel that are very friendly. I come here for all kinds of stuff but Mai Lu to their pharmacy and to buy snacks!! This CVS Pharmacy in Long Beach is my favorite. It is conveniently located on 2nd and PCH. Plenty of parking. Next to Gelson's market and Whole foods market across the street, Trader Joes, In N Out and a Gas Station. I often pick up my parents's medications and Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. They always ask about my parents. It also seems to be one of the larger CVS stores in the area. So, they have a lot to offer. I recommend this CVS store and Pharmacy. read more

This CVS is conveniently next to Gelsons Grocery Store. It has ample parking, and is semi well maintained. They were out of certain items I was looking for, hence my four star review. This location is much cleaner than the many others I have been to. Pharmacy here is less crowded. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! If you expect ANY kind of customer service at this store, look elsewhere!!!! Recently i purchased an otc product at CVS on 2nd street in Long Beach, Ca. My friend purchased it on her card for me. I also bought a snack for us so i had the date/time on that EBT card. When i got home , i realized i had bought the wrong product for my needs and called the store to see about returning it. After explaining that i didn't have the original receipt but knew the date/time, the manager on the phone looked it up and found the transaction. She said to come and t they would REFUND or exchange the product for me. Fast forward a week, I call, i get 2 managers who say "sorry , not our policy, exchange only!" Not only is it ALWAYS difficult to get customer service at CVS in general, but this store really topped it off! They need to get their story straight.....In my experience , CVS raises their prices, then offers "discounts" and asks the customer to do all the work in shopping there playing the "savings" game. If they had just offered a competitive price to begin with, we would know they actually had the customer in mind, and it would save us a lot of time and AGGRAVATION!!! read more

Large one-floor CVS, selling pretty much everything a drugstore sells these days. My wife loves using the CVS app to see which stores have which products, and for the most part, the inventory levels displayed on the app is relatively accurate. We found what we needed (locked up). One thing to mention is that when we rang the bell to ask for assistance, two different employees came within seconds to help us. This is very different than the other CVSs in LBC where you have to be patient and ring the bell multiple times to get assistance. Also noticed that this store has a Citibank ATM located inside...I don't think all CVS has that. CVS has a very robust Point of Sale system, always accurate in giving out the right discounts and coupons, even for self-check out. I think this is the reason why my wife loves it so much...if you put in the effort to use the right digital coupons, it works out well. She ended up reducing the price of our one item by 65% after all the coupons stacked. One negative note: we used our Citibank credit card which earns you Citi Thank You Points...interestingly, after we scanned our card to pay, it asked a simple Y/N question if we wanted to use 1,250 points to get $10 off our purchase. Now, that's impressive in how they are able to connect these systems together to communicate in real time. Unfortunately, this is a horrible exchange rate (less than a penny a point), and an instance where better technology/connectivity can actually harm the consumer. read more

The most incompetent team I've ever encountered. There is only one woman there, young with glasses, that ever gets anything right and is the usual one to fix things. I've been trying to get three very simple prescriptions handled for a month now and that can't seem to get it together. They fill one then I come to get it and none of the others have been filled then they say we need doctor approval. My doctor is the one who sends it and has been dealing with your screw ups over and over and over. They send a text saying waiting on getting it restocked then don't hear anything for two weeks. Call and they say oh because you're not covered. When I've told them time and time again I have medical. You tell them what's been going on and that their staff is royally screwing up and they get defensive and hang up on you. No longer coming here and makes sense why you have 3 stars read more

Hands down the WORST pharmacy in Long Beach. They play games, there is lack of follow through, they rarely have common medications in stock and they have caused serious disruptions in my health. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Their goal is to play with your orders so that you'll spend more time in their store, or, be forced to return many times due to their lack of stock and proper management. CVS prescription drugs are way overpriced. They do not have a good contract with the pharmaceutical companies. I just paid $20 for a prescription with insurance that I used to pay seven dollars for with Rite Aid. and that was just for one of the prescriptions that I had filled I paid over double for all four of my prescriptions filled one prescription. I kept getting told a while ago that it would be ready the next day that was two days ago then yesterday I was told it was gonna be filled. I came back again today now they're telling me it's tomorrow time to find a new pharmacy. read more

I used this pharmacy for years and was very happy, until they started getting too busy for their patients! My prescriptions get sent over, I follow up they don't call back they don't answer phones anymore. Then when I really need my prescription bc I'm leaving the country for 4 months they answer the phone the day of my flight only to say "Sorry we don't have it I'll need to order it" they had the prescription since nov 7 never looked at it told me there was no prescription for me in the system! This a newer CVS store with it's own parking lot next door to Gelson's, across the street from In and Out Burger and Whole Foods and a shopping mall and close to the beach and marina. What more could you want from a location? The store was well stocked and organized. I had to ring the buzzer to get someone to open the glass case that has the Sonicare Brush Heads in it. They keep them locked up because they are a big theft item. Long beach gangs like to steal them. Bet you didn't know that preventing cavities is important to criminals. When you ring the buzzer--an announcement comes on loud over the store PA system: "Associate please respond to the dental care section to assist a customer." I waited 3 minutes and can see the entire store and no one was moving--there was no one else in the store except me. I could not even see any employees. So I rang it again, the announce comes on--wait 2 more minutes and this guy comes over and opens the cabinet and tells me to take my time inspecting the brush heads. At the register the woman was Sooo nice. I had a coupon, but she tells me that I should combine that with another coupon that I have to get a bigger discount? I tell her I don't think you can do that--you have to pick the best CVS coupon and use only one. No? She says "let's try." So she scans my coupon and then another one and it's not working. It only gives one discount. It was nice she wanted to help out even if it did not work. Very pleasant people work here. It's a really nice new store. read more

I went to an urgent care in Long Beach and needed prescriptions filled, they asked me where I wanted it filled. I explained that I was puppy sitting and my home is Huntington Beach too far to travel. So they recommended this store. Since I use CVS at home they had all my information and texted as soon as the medicine was ready. One of the pharmacists is so incredibly bad it borderlines on reckless. I wish I knew her name but not only have they given me someone else's medication entirely (could've killed me) but she lies and says they are out of medication when they are not out of stock at all. She really seems unqualified as if she cheated through pharmacy school. It's beyond bad. I went in to pick up two prescriptions, I was told one would be ready the next day. Three days later the pharmacy was closed regardless of posted pharmacy hours. Went in today, now four days later, apparently they don't stock it and have to order it in!! Seems like that should've been done when my order was first Placed by the doctor. read more

Bau Nguyen, the pharmacist, is the reason I go to this pharmacy. He is attentive, efficient, knowledgeable, helpful, and he treats me like a person. I've never had a better pharmacist in my life. One of the largest CVS locations I've been in. Always clean, fully staffed, stocked shelves, and good selection of products. I can usual find what I need and then some. LoL From time to time they have good bargains like buy one get one 50% off as well as money saving coupons on featured items. Came to this CVS and picked up duct tape for a customer. The customer canceled and I went in to return the items, unused, still in the bag, with the receipt. Christie was pleased to tell me she couldn't except my return because I didn't have a California ID or Drivers License. It was just 'their policy'. My wallet had been stolen a few days earlier so I had no ID except my passport which I've been carrying around. I told her to get the manager. He also declined my passport as proper ID. I was furious. I called CVS customer relations. The woman was very sympathetic and apologized. She said the manager could override the policy if he wanted but there was nothing she could do since she wasn't in the store. She suggested I go to another CVS and try again. I did and I got my return at the very next CVS so I was happy about that but still, I just hate the kind of power tripping bullshit !!! read more

The main pharmacist Dr. Wu Nguyen is a terrible pharmacist. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety and stage IV Lung Cancer. I follow all protocols that my doctor prescribes. Dr. Nguyen makes up things to withhold my prescriptions. I've had to get into major arguments w him. He lies about dates to try to make me seem wrong. I've seen many reviews about how poor he is to others below. I'm going to reach out to corporate to file a verbal and written complaint about the way he is running this pharmacy. I have been a loyal client here and it's the closest to my home. I hope I don't have to move all my medication due to the negligence of Mr. Nguyen. He is very disrespectful and dishonest and is upsetting the community. read more
