This review is specifically for the community pharmacy. This is my go-to pharmacy, not because it's a good one, it's just the most convenient. The prescription items I need, such as stimulants and azaleaic acid, are often out of stock. I know that can happen at any pharmacy, so I don't hold that against them. My biggest issue is the service. The pharmacists and pharmacy staff often present as though they dislike their job and the customers. Today I was told by a staff member that an item I needed was not available to order and I had to call other Walgreens to see if it was available. She also stated that she could not transfer my prescription to the other Walgreens pharmacy locations. Imagine my surprise when I finally located my medicine and the staff member at that other location was easily able to retrieve my prescription from this location. I don't know if that staff member was misinformed or simply lazy. Either way, it left a bad taste in my mouth. This is a very frustrating pharmacy location. read more

I have lived nearby for several years and walk here often, it can be a one stop shop if you needed it to be! This location gets a lot of traffic and faces some challenges given how highly populated the area is and increase of unhoused folks in the area. With that being said I have always had pleasant visits in the store and with the pharmacy. The staff here are great, I have never run into issues, they are very helpful and provide prompt service. Being a Walgreens member has its perks, it's free to sign up, the points add up and sometimes your purchase is only a few dollars. The coupons are great too! Tonight Blanca helped me at the pharmacy with my prescription and I purchased a few other items at the same register, she was very kind and attentive. After a long day at work it was nice to have a kind interaction. Coming to work with a good attitude is a choice, you never know who needs your kindness regardless of what you're going through. I shop here about twice mothly, and I generally have no complaints. But this evening (Thur., July 23, shortly before 6:30 p.m.), it was a diiferent story. The one clerk working at the check-out register seem bored or tired. He mumbled the total amount due. I brought my own reuseable bag, but he didn't bag my items for; I had to do it myself, In the past, the clerks bagged my order, even when I brought my own bag. Extremely frustrating and poorly ran pharmacy. Seems like every month they have a different person and/or pharmacist working there. Never have any medication in stock, they never utilize the automated alert system if your script is ready, you have to call and wait on hold for an hour until someone picks up and confirms. You also have to repeat yourself and why you're calling at least 3 times, and sometimes you get disconnected and then have to call back and reexplain everything. I used to love this pharmacy but it has gone extremely down hill and the personnel working at the pharmacy are also extremely rude with absolutely zero customer service. They will promise you a script will be ready, and then when you call back a few hours later, they will say they don't have the medication and it won't be ready for another few days. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Wouldn't be surprised if this place goes out of business soon. read more

Tried them today, never again. I typically go to the CVS off Long Beach Blvd, but they are awful so decided to try Walgreens pharmacy - holy cr*p!!! They are actually twenty times WORSE!! My doctor put an order in for TamaFLU due to a severe flu, at 11:08a. It is now 2:20p. It has been over THREE hours and NO one can tell me when my prescription is going to be ready! I keep getting "it should be ready in 20 min" over and over again. I called my doctor who verified Walgreeens received my order at 11:08a, and it was confirmed on Walgreens ended. UPDATE: Just spoke to customer service and the female stated, "it says it was suppose to be ready at 12:30p, and I do not know why it is not. So sorry..." couldn't even tell me WHY. You all are so unprofessional, just jokes! To be so beyond incompetent would get to me. Never using this hole again. read more

I had no choice to use this Walgreens for my prescription since they were the only ones that carried the item for a reasonable price. I will never go back to this Walgreens. The employee in the pharmacy did her work moving prescriptions and not helping customers waiting in line. She had me and two other people wait 15 minutes while she did other work. And then, when I finally got waited on I noticed there were six other employees in the pharmacy. Clearly, they're not there to help customers, what terrible management at this store. read more

The actual staff in the pharmacy are hardworking, skilled, and will help you solve problems. If you call, you will first get a pharmacy tech from a call center. The call center will often misadvise you. If you point this out to them, they will have an attitude. If you have a problem that needs to be solved, bypass the call center and ask for an actual pharmacist. The actual pharmacist figured things out and solved my problem. I am very grateful for their compassion and expertise. read more

Extremely rude pharmacist (not the technicians, their boss - Robert or something like that). He was so rude as to refuse to give me my medication a day early (which is easily doable with a simple computer click) because I was traveling and needed it. Then, worse, he told me "If you don't like how I run my pharmacy, take your business elsewhere." Complete shock! Yes, my recommendation is to take your business elsewhere, as I did. read more

If I could I'd leave 0 stars. I have struggled with ADHD for multiple years now and just recently moved to the area. I had my stimulant prescription sent to this Walgreens but didn't get any info on when I should expect to pick it up. A week after my prescription was ordered by my psychiatrist, I had to call the pharmacy because I had still yet to receive any info. When I called the pharmacist was a complete jerk and acted as though I was a drug addict who was looking for their next fix. I was told that I can't have my prescription filled at this location and when asked why the response I received was "why do you think". The pharmacists at this location think they know everything and just want to show you that they are better than you. Go to any other pharmacy. None of the workers here care about your wellbeing. read more

Terrible over the phone customer service. Pharmacist was on a power trip and told me he would not fill my prescription that was sent over from my doctor. He was rude during the whole conversation and said to transfer to cvs. I was given no reason why but he wanted to ask "why do you think it is" when I have no clue why it needed to be transferred to CVS. He wanted to provide me with no answers to those questions and hung up when I was confused. read more

This review is for the pharmacy staff. As a fellow pharmacist, I was blown away at the exceptional service I received four months ago when I had an issue with my dog's medication script. The pharmacy tech and pharmacist that assisted me that day worked so hard to resolve my issue and I sincerely appreciated them going above and beyond to ensure my dog was able to receive her medications that same day, which played a big role in helping to restore her eye sight. I feel often in healthcare we forget to give kuddos (as good work is always "expected") so I wanted to make sure the hard work of this pharmacy was recognized. Thank you so much!! read more

Poor Carol, the cashier, was given the 3rd degree by a customer today. "Karen" got quickly upset about a magazine placed on the counter, wish Carol charged Karen who complaint in a very loud voice to remove the charges. Carol apologized but Karen was not accepting it. I've been shopping at this store for 30-yrs ALL employees are super nice and they work hard. I've never had an issue here. I don't understand why some people get so easily upset about minor things. Robert needs to be fired. This used to be my goto because I pass by it daily and it's around the corner from my place. I'd pick up drinks, snacks, photos, toothpaste, meds, etc - even got my COVID Vaccine here but now I will NEVER return thanks to Robert. I've never been treated SO poorly in my life. Like I said, I've always picked up my meds here - every 30days like clockwork for years!! I could probably name everyone on staff - nothing but positive experiences from them... but Robert, fuck Robert. With my last doctors appointment, they changed my prescription and this is where the humiliation comes into play. Robert, the pharmacy manager, refused to fill my prescription and spoke to me as if I was some degenerate loser!! Keep in mind that I'm a younger female, colored hair and tattooed. I have asthma, endometriosis, depression, anxiety and ADHD so I've been on medication since I was a kid and this pharmacy has been filling my prescriptions for years!!! Well, when I questioned why he wasn't going to fill my prescription, he raised his voice at me and started to interrogated me!! Asking me for all types of information - doctors name, location, and why I was prescribed this medication? He stated that he only fills prescriptions from doctors that he has a relationship with!? So not only is he refusing to give me the medication prescribed to me by a PSYCHIATRIST but he stated that they weren't qualified to prescribe to me because this was a virtual doctors appointment - well, no shit Robert.. virtual doctors appointments have been encouraged because were still in a pandemic, COVID cases are rising, and all of my doctors appointments in the last fucking year have been virtual but you filled all of those prescriptions!?? I wish you could have heard him - the tone in his voice was so condescending and rude!! Robert - I have no idea how you've stayed employed but you might want to seek help yourself. You are a very rude and angry individual. It is NOT okay to treat people the way you treated me today. Thankfully I was raised right and didn't treat you how you deserved to be treated in return. Try some therapy - it's amazing and sometimes you need a little extra help so your doctor will refer you to a psychiatrist. I just hope you don't have to pick up your prescriptions from an asshole like yourself. It's hard enough seeking help - it's a whole different ballgame when the pharmacist is a prick and makes you feel even more like shit. read more

I received one of the worse customer service today at walgreen when I went to pick up a couple of photo prints. One of the print had an obvious crease to it. And I asked the associate if they can reprint it. He said yes we can. He saw the crease. The manager (artrell) happened to be back there helping and he questioned why I needed it to be reprinted. And showed him the crease. He denies seeing any crease. Questioned what we are seeing. And said I'm just being difficult. I verbalized my displeasure of his verbal accusations and felt attack and he responded by saying that he is entitled to his own option and that was his opinion. Reprinted my pictures and walked away. I came here for vaccinations. It was a breeze, they were quick and friendly. We gave our insurance informations and within 3 minutes we were out. Not bad at all! But 72 hours later, they still don't have my test sample in the lab... and friends who did the test at a different city. They received the test resulted with 20 hours. The parking lot is absolutely gross and the lady at the cash register Thursday morning 8am on 10/12 was even more gross. If you don't want to be around sick people you not only shouldn't work around the public let alone AT A PHARMACY. She was ridiculous. I literally have on a mask (which many don't even care to do right now). She's grabbing gloves and being dramatic under her breath talking saying "see... this is why I don't touch nothing blah blah blah" and when I told her I didn't want to touch the pad to put in my phone number because I didn't feel well (was there getting Vicks tissue) and she said "well I DAMN sure don't want to touch it either!" Ummm definitely I get it but really? Ma'am- you're clocked in. And most people aren't even courteous enough to care about you to even care to not touch things or wear a mask. Every single time I have been here to fill my prescription (I've been going since I moved here last year for college) something is wrong and they are so rude and never offer any solutions. This time was my last straw. I was going to pick up a prescription that had been refilled last Monday (9/18) and it is now Sunday (9/24). When I get there, they give me the wrong prescription saying that the other one is back ordered and they don't have any to give me. I received no call or anything saying that they didn't have my medication in stock. I am absolutely appalled at the treatment I received when I asked for a solution. I was thinking they could see if other Walgreens in the area had the medication and if they could transfer my prescription there. But all I received was "Well we don't have it." Just wanted to inform anyone who takes a controlled substance, this specific Walgreens will utilize their "legal" discretion, not allowing you to use goodrx coupons or similar discounts for these medications. While it is their right, this pharmacy is (based on similar experiences and reviews) causing some people more harm then good and seemingly allowing their biases of working in the industry to affect peoples medication regime. Which is as reprehensible as it is funny given the purpose of a pharmacy, to dispense medication. I recommend using a different Walgreens. read more
