The only time I step foot in Walgreens is to get my prescription. The pharmacy are very helpful and quick if you are not in any hurry. I'm the person who like to get it slow but done so I don't mind the wait; that is where I do the shopping and browsing! I usually look at the beauty section and sure wish that they design the store layout better. I feel so out in the open whenever I'm at the section. The door is almost right in front of you when you are standing there. Well, that is at least how I feel. When prescription is ready in about 30 minutes or less, they call me to the pharmacy and I'm ready to head out with my items. I give it a 4 stars since I'm there every month. read more

I was at this pharmacy today and there were 2 cars in line. It took almost 30 minutes to get through. They either need more people working there to help out or a new system if something is causing a back up. This has happened every time I come to this Walgreens. Quick & Dirty: This Walgreens is just that... quick and dirty. But they have what you want when you want it. Long & Grungy: If they had a hose out front I would take it and squirt down the sidewalk because it's disgusting. Don't they sweep? Seriously, a power wash of this entire store and parking lot would do it good. I don't think this store is that old either, but it is not in the best of neighborhoods so that explains it. I went here because it's on my way home, I needed candy, and some other "essentials". Even though this place is filthy-dirty they do carry just about everything you need, AND it's open 24 Hrs for all you crackheads. Never again as of tomorrow I'm transferring all my prescriptions. I received notice that my prescription was ready for pickup and drove 5 miles out of my way to pick it up. When I arrived at the store the pharmacy was closed with a sign that they were closed for lunch and would be open at 2:00 a half an hour later. There was NO mention about being closed for lunch in the email I was sent nor is there any mention of this on their website. When I need medicine I want a REAL pharmacy not a mini-mart with a part time pharmacy. So, I had to leave without my prescription. I am really beginning to loathe Walgreens. When they first came to Long Beach I was very impressed, and happy to have an alternative to CVS and Rite Aid, but they've sunk about as low as their competition in my esteem. I rarely find what's on my list whever I shop here. Ever. They put their ad in my Sunday paper, and when I hit the sale, they're out of almost everything. And then they act like I'm asking for a damn kidney when I ask for a rain check. Why the hell does the manager have to be paged out of his hole just to come out and write a raincheck? And the cashiers! I can't believe they allow most of them to handle money. One of them actually left to get a calculator to figure out what half of $2.99 was. Good Lord. And good luck if you're using Register Rewards or coupons. It's like the Keystone Kops. Register Rewards expire in two weeks. The Extra Bucks at CVS expire in 4 weeks. Also check the expiration dates of the items you buy! Several times I've had to return things because I didn't realize they were expired. But Wags isn't alone in this. Both CVS and Rite Aid often sell expired products. read more

Other Yelpers have griped that this is the worst pharmacy they've ever been to. I think this Walgreens is better than the average chain pharmacy. There are other chain pharmacies that are much worse; one of them is just across the street from this one! Try your luck there and I'm sure you'll be back to this one. Any complaint I would have with this Walgreens would be the clientele. If it's something simple and you need it fast, this is the place. Walgreens is Walgreens, and this one serves the purpose of any other. I really like that it's 24 hour so when I really want candy at 3am, it's within a walk's time. I wouldn't go so far to say that the staff is helpful, but there is definitely one employee who is very, very friendly and truly shows that she knows a thing or two about customer service. Mike the pharmacist is not a good person. I am new in the area and i needed some cough syrup. Mike told me he would not fill it because he doesnt know me or my dr. I had my pharmacist who also works at walgreens that i have been using the past 10 years at my old city and Mike still woukd not fill the cough syrup. Will not be back. Whenever I walk in the doors Im immediately greeted. Good selection and helpful staff. The staff in the pharmacy are always great! I never wait long and they always have what I need in stock. I had to return an item I bought in NY to my local Walgreens at this location. Even though I went in with a receipt, I was accused of shoplifting because I browsed the store before making a return and was questioned what the name on the credit card was. I don't appreciate false accusations and will no longer patronize your store. You should train your employees on customer service skills. read more

Horrific service in what should be a prime location for a easy operation with the store not being too old! Appears to have no manager on duty and staff appear to be indifferent to the customers! I love this Walgreens. It's within walking distance from my house so it's really convenient. And the workers are much more pleasant than the Rite Aid across the street. And it's open 24/7 which is always a plus. The pharmacists are helpful. Even when it's the middle of the night and you're all sick and pathetic and asking the pharmacist what they recommend to help you make it to the morning. For holiday deals, Walgreens can't be beat. You need to take the time to open up their ad because their coupon deals are awesome. I often find cute little holiday items for like 3 for $1.00 with a coupon. I love their photo department. I upload the pictures and order them and they are always ready within an hour. read more

As soon as you walk through these doors, someone is greeting you. Great staff!!! I'am always being helped, selections are easy to find, even the clearance items! It's normally clean, unlike what others are saying. I come into this place on a weekly basis, most satisfied. However, the only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I do have to wait for my prescriptions, sometimes about an hour. Not because it's not ready, but because of the long line of patients. My only suggestion is two pharmacist during evening shift instead of one. Their techs are amazing, and they're always helpful. Overall....great store, great employees. WOW! I have to say i was in town for a quick trip and some last minute items needed just before a party. I have to say the customer service was great. When i walked in i was greeted and helped with finding the best card and gift bag. My nephew was sooo happy! Jasmine you are amazing! Thank you for reminding me to use my number for points! I've never been treated so rudely by a pharmacist for asking for specifics about the "pharmacy" on the corner that she directed me to, because they did not accept my health insurance. She did not give me the name of the "pharmacy on the corner" she spoke of, even when I asked. She did not give me further description even when I asked her for more details, like if it was inside of a store. She responded with "on the corner" abruptly and rudely. Because I was running late, I asked how much it would cost if I just bought it there at Walgreens. I did not have time to go to another pharmacy. She again would not answer and responded coldly and rudely with "nothing", even though moments before she said it'd cost if I bought it there. Other than that, the store itself is well maintained. The manager Anthony at this Walgreens is very unprofessional and DO NOT know how to handle customer concerns what so ever. Anthony do not even acknowledge customers as they are shopping in this Walgreens or waiting to be helped. Anthony's excuse was that he was on his lunch and that's why he just passed me by without any acknowledgement. Horrible customer service. Your customers pay your salary and you can't even acknowledge your customers when you see them in your store because you are on your "BREAK"!!! I have been going into this Walgreens to have pictures printed. My pictures are on a disc and it has never been a problem. The manager Anthony rudely stated that Walgreens can be sued if the pictures were printed from the disc. If your employees did not know that pictures could not be printed from a disc that your customers instert into the picture kiosk to be printed then that means that you did not do your job as a manager to train your staff properly. Thanks for printing the other pictures and informing me that Walgreens can now be sued because the pictures were printed previousy. Anthony you are setting you company up for a lawsuit when you handle customer concerns in this manner by informing your customers how a lawsuit can be filed against Walgreens. As a manager you have to be trained to handle customer concerns and if you are not capable of doing so Walgreens should not have given you a manager title and definitely should not be paying you a manager's salary if you CAN NOT handle the responsibilities of a manager. read more

I went there today to purchase some medicine for a cold. Apparently you have to purchase certain medicine from the pharmacy as people know how to make street drugs with them. Man did I have a terrible experience dealing with the lady at the photo center. I told her my photo was ready for pick up and showed her the email confirmation from Walgreens and even logged onto my Walgreens web account to prove it got delivered. She kept saying we don't have anything under your name or phone number. I refused to leave the store until I left with my photo because I knew 100% it was there and she wasn't trying hard enough. Why else would I get notified it's ready and delivered? I asked if she can get someone else to help her and she refused and kept denying my package was there and not giving me any options. I'm sure as hell not leaving without it just to come back and deal with this BS again. Something in her finally clicked after I said where do you keep all your received packages?? And she's like "oh it's probably SEND OUT, your name wouldn't show up in the system" ..which is probably their term for "ship to store" items and what do you know, my photo was right there in the stack behind her. I could qualify this Walgreens as ghetto but they have some really good prices and random things that you don't know you absolutely need until you're there. The con: last time I went there the pharmacy gave me a totally different prescription for my birth control. I'm pretty sure that's not legal...? They didn't even ask me if I wanted generic (and what they gave me was not even the generic version of what my Dr prescribed). The store is good for a quick stop also for the Redbox inside. The pharmacist is very helpful..I went in there for cold medicine and he suggested I get the Walgreens Cold Multi Symptom quick gels, and these were phenomenal in taking over my cold and making me feel better in no time. the counter help are often as pleasant as they come , most especially the cheerful African American lady at check out . THE pharmacy is a whole different matter. They are often curt and hurried. Calling in by phone is even worse. I think the manager needs to consider that the staff may be reflecting her approach. And their Xpress Pharmacy (via email and toll free) so expedient that one is exasperated with the attempt to place an order.. Compare their treatment to a Von's pharmacy or CVS.
