I shop here only when I absolutely need to and when I want to save a few dollars. I don't bother with asking the workers where anything is located because most of the time, they don't know because it's "not their department". The pick up order service has improved over the last year or so and the pharmacy pickup is fairly smooth. I mostly go through the self-check out lanes since I rarely have a lot to purchase. I hadn't been to this location in a number of years. I recently was searching for a specific item, and this seemed to be the only local store to possibly have it. I had been to almost every other Walmart in the area, so what was one more to check? Fortunately, they had the item I needed, which in itself is rare for WM. I also noticed that this Walmart seemed to be 'upgraded' from the ones closer to me. It has whole floor sets of particular brands that aren't available, or at least set up that way, at my store(s). It actually has an overall more upscale feel to it. When I sent to the self-checkouts, there was a pretty big line, but an associate came over and got me and another shopper to check out (at fragrances?) which saved us time and helped reduce the line. read more

I went to this store looking to buy some food and toiletries. I was pleasantly surprised that this location was just overall a good visit. It was not over crowded. It was clean, neat and everything was in its place. No clothes on the floor, random opened food on the shelves or carts of returns sitting and waiting. Management and staff are on top of their game with keeping up the presentation of the store and organization. I would definitely recommend this location. Also the cashier was so nice and friendly. read more

Do NOT order delivery from this Walmart. We were delivered the wrong order--a much smaller order of items we did not need--and never received our large order totaling over $140. I called customer service immediately and was assured we would be refunded only to receive an email a few days later saying our refund was denied since the picture (of the WRONG order sitting on our front porch) was confirmation it was delivered. I am now having to go through my financial institution to fight for my refund. So, unless you don't care if Walmart steals your money...then do NOT shop here! I cancelled my Walmart + trial right away. Instacart and anywhere else is worth the small extra money to make sure this doesn't happen again. read more

Y'all be careful over here. I love Walmart but thank God I don't ever have to visit this one again!!! I came to return something from my baby registry and they returned the money to the purchaser instead of putting it on a gift card like I explicitly asked for. This was with the supervision of a manager. I asked to speak to someone that could simply return the item and cancel the return and they refused. The management and supervision of this store is a joke. Please be wary and do your shopping and returns where they are capable of helping or assisting with some sort of higher level reasoning skills. This is one of my go to Walmarts around Birmingham. Although I have heard of a robbery in their parking lot, I feel safer at this Walmart compared to any other. I grew up around this one, and I know the layout of where most of the items are so that's a definite plus for me. I've tried their online pickup program which has worked out before, and also not worked out. The website said it was available, an employee called saying they actually didn't have it. Of course they didn't have it -___- . I have experienced a time or two where customer service was a bit lacking. I was in the gun department and waited nearly 20 minutes...which in store waiting time equates to be like 2 hours. I found an employee who of course didn't work in guns, but even after calling someone for me no one ever showed up. read more

In purchasing a desk chair, I found there to be no price on the shelf for the chair. I used my Walmart app to find out the price. However, in self checkout the chair wrong up for the incorrect amount. I notified the associate and she told me I would need to go to customer service if there's a pricing issue. (This must be a new or made up policy. In the past when this has been an issue, the associate scanned their badge, corrected the price. ) I went to customer service where there is only 1 cashier and I am the 5th person in line. When it was my turn, I explained the situation to the cashier (Bernadette). I showed her the Walmart app and she said she would need to call for a price check. I explained that there was not a price tag on the shelf so she would need to honor the app price or call the manager. She insisted we wait for the price check. The next item she rang up was a notebook. They were the incorrect price as well. When I notified Bernadette, she simply began changing the price. So I asked, "what's the difference between the notebooks and the chair? I showed you the Walmart app for the chair and you won't believe me but the notebooks, you didn't even flinch." Bernadette responded that she knew the notebooks rang up wrong cause her husband buys them. (Then why did I have to ask for the correction if you knew? If it's a common theme of items being mis-priced, why wouldn't she just change the price to meet Walmarts own price in their app?) About that time, Victorian, an assistant manager, came up to help. I explained to her about self check out sending me over here. Bernadette not honoring the advertised price etc. I showed Victorian the Walmart app. Even scanned the chair in front of her and she wouldn't believe me until she went and found her own phone and scanned it in her app. Of course, the price I've been telling them the entire time is the correct price. So Victorian pulls Bernadette back from the register and says okay, let me show you what's going on and train you on this so you'll know next time. By this time, the line of customers was all the way out to Subway. And there was still only 1 line open. (The line that I am holding up.) So I said, ma'am, I don't mean this ugly but can we do training later? I've already been here an hour longer than I should be and the line is to Subway. Victorian responded with, "Lord Jesus help me. Not today, God has blessed me. God is my protection. Not today" She (Victorian) then told all of her associates to ignore me and not speak to me. Simply ring me up and let me leave. So I lost my temper. 1) you throw god in my face? You're saying that I am an enemy of your soul and your facing religious trauma because I asked you to honor the listed price and to help make things go faster for your other customers? 2) Your "training" your associates to ignore customers instead of help them? Victorian responded to my questions by telling Bernadette, "just give it to him for the app price so we can shut him up and get him out of here. God is on our side" They continued to ignore me. If I hadn't already been 2 hours into this Walmart trip, I would've left. But I was already paying by this time. When the transaction ended, I requested a receipt. Victorian told me she wasn't giving me a receipt, that I received one by email. I explained that because I had items that were not in bags the door greeter would stop me and I had already been held up enough. She said, "no they won't, come on you're leaving. I'll walk you out" Victorian then ignored me all the way to the door. I called corporate to file a report. I was told Sherry, the store manager, would call me. I insisted that I wanted to speak to someone higher up than the local store level. This is your typical wal-mart. It was stocked to your normal level, and we went in and found what we needed fairly quickly once we got the lay of the land. The store was clean and organized, at least to your typical Wal-mart level. The employees we interacted with were friendly. They do offer the mobile order service, but we did not take advantage of it during this visit. I'd come here again when I'm in the area and needing something. read more

Like many of the reviews before, you have to set your expectations to Wal-Mart expectations. It's not going to be as nice as Publix or Whole Foods, BUT you can get your daily, non-perishable staples here. I typically only go to grab things like paper towels, tp, paper plates, etc. But I also prepare myself mentally for the struggle of being able to get in, get the stuff, and get checked out. I know not to expect much from customer service when I go, and I know to plan enough time ahead to have to go on treasure hunts for certain items if I need them. This location I would say is better than most in the area. Much better imo than the one off Lakeshore. I would say, my preferred location would be the one in Pelham, but is way out of the way to get to. Since I work in Pelham, sometimes I'll drop by that one when I get off work. Need to update my review. Well, apparently word has gotten out about the grocery pickup service, but Walmart has not been able to keep up. Had a horrendous experience here last week. I had noticed a trend of it taking longer and longer to get your stuff (even when you showed up after it was supposedly "ready"), but my experience there last Sunday was truly unacceptable. When I showed up, the 10 reserved pickup spots were taken, and there was a line of 5-6 cars waiting to get a spot. That should have been my first clue. (Well, that and the fact that my order wasn't "ready" for half an hour after the end of the time slot I picked.) Little did I know that I was in for an hour and a half wait. At that point I should really have just left, but I didn't. Eventually, I got my order, and more than half my items just weren't there- so after all that I STILL had to drive to Publix to get the items I needed. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND using the grocery pickup service. Evidently the service has gotten completely overloaded and rather than just turning away customers, they are accepting orders and not warning people of the EXORBITANT wait times. I would MUCH rather have just been told they were full, than just sitting around and waiting for nearly two hours. DO NOT use grocery pickup service at this location. read more

I've been shopping at this location for about six years but yesterday's visit will likely be my last. I needed a worker to unlock a cabinet in the electronics department. Found her but after a couple of exchanges realized she was talking to a friend on her phone and not to me. There's more to the story but I left her department amazed that her managers allowed that. Went to checkout and found 2 registers open, both with long lines. All the self checkout registers were closed. Half the express self checkouts down and there was a line of full shopping carts waiting. My interactions with employees at the checkout have mostly been good. Usually very fast, friendly and doing a good job. I'm thinking the manager, if they can be found, needs to be fired. read more

Greeting IS NOT standing in the middle of the entrance shouting to everyone "welcome" ... so impersonal. It does not sound or feel welcoming... Typical duties of a Greeter are offering coupons and flyers, welcoming people, helping with carts, maintaining the premises clean and organized, and answering to customer inquiries. All in a professional manner... The greeters and others can be assigned to keeping the parking lot clean, helping with carts, there to provide directions and assistance in general.... this Walmart's parking lot is always filthy...greeters can round it constantly to keep it clean...the welcoming starts before you enter the store. read more

Walmart is always amazing to me. So many hints and such low prices. How can this be possible. And then you realize it's because of poor customer service and the ability to only open 20% of the registers. But like I said so cheap. Walmart is perfect to get a lot of those kitchen staples like garbage bags, winded etc that always appear to be empty whenever you need them the most. This Walmart is the same as far as interacting with the employees, but the only difference is that the store is well organize and they have nicer tiles on the floor. We came in looking for a Super Seal A/C Stop Leak Kit and this shouldn't surprise me that no one wasn't working in the Auto department. We manage to track down an employee that couldn't find the item that we needed. He then track down a manager from a different department, but I got a negative vibe from the manager and his body language was telling me that he could care less about helping us out. He could've save himself the embarrassment and just took the time to look harder because I ended up finding the item myself after he walk away. Weather they work in the area or not, I believe the managers should familiarize themselves with every department in the store. read more

If you enjoy trying to navigate through unorganized, crowded aisles - where no one, customer or Walmart employee with their giant carts - gets out of your way, then this is the location for you. Oh, who am I kidding? All Walmart locations are like this, this one just seems worse. Once Walmart runs out of something, you'll never see it there again. This is true for all Walmart locations as well as walmart.com. Don't even waste your time and energy looking for it the next time you go, just plan on shopping elsewhere for it. Don't even think about asking an employee who's standing right next to you stocking shelves, to get something on the tallest shelf that's pushed towards the back. You'll get that "how dare you ask me to help you" look. The other reviewers are correct about this Walmart's parking lot. It's pretty bad with all the garbage. I really try not to go to any Walmart unless my list is long enough that I'm going to save a substantial amount of money. Every time I leave this Walmart, I ask myself "why did I go here". And then I remind myself... "Duh, because its cheap". Sometimes its worth it. Sometimes its not. Someone said it before "Walmart is Walmart". No matter where you go. I don't go if I am anticipating asking any questions or where something is. You know you'll get long checkout lines and customer service only if you ask for it (though to be fair, I've always been very satisfied with Walmart's customer service once I did ask). It's open 24 hrs, so you can satisfy that craving for Ben & Jerry's or buy diapers any time, without worrying too much about how much it's going to cost. That's the reason we all go there. I was surprised how nice the optical department is - I'd give them 4 stars! I was disappointed in how bad the "wireless" shop was. Half of the demo phones (and both demo iPads) seem to have been stolen from the displays! Who is stupid enough to steal a demo phone? Never mind; I think I just answered my own question. I'm not in the business of bad mouthing a business on social media. I'm just going to state the facts. I avoid Wal Mart as much as I can but they're cheap so when it comes to diapers its a win. As we're shopping I overheard employees cursing and complaining about everything. When we went to check out the person at the register didn't even speak to us. Not a hello or have a nice day, just rang up our items and looked at me. I swiped my card and made my way out. To be fair, I just struggle with most "big box" retailers and that's a personal issue. I'm in the retail business and serving your customer and offering a good experience is 95% what I've based my career around. So, perhaps my expectations are to high. As I walked inside the Walmart at Eastwood there were two vagrants sitting on a bench inside the store, just INSIDE the entry doors of the Market. They were begging passing customers "aggressively'. I shopped for 20 minutes and when I left by the same door these folks were still there , yelling at me as I walked past "sir sir - Stop sir ". Now this is totally annoying inside the store and no Walmart employee or manager intervened. I called the Manager number and no answer, of course. Twenty rings and no answer, never will be. This Walmart has an armed guard on the premises most of the time. Unfortunately there is not an armed escort to your car. It is Lord of the Flies in there--wild kids sprinting down the aisles.
